Mytholmroyd flooding in pictures after Storm Ciara leaves homes devastated
Across West Yorkshire, fire crews received nearly 700 calls - and Mytholmroyd was one of the worst-hit areas
Residents in Mytholmroyd were forced from their homes over the weekend, as 50mph winds and heavy rain from Storm Ciara battered the village.
An amber weather warning was issued by the Met Office on Sunday (February 10) - four years after record flooding devastated the area.
River levels peaked and large swathes of West Yorkshire were left under water as a result of flooding caused by Storm Ciara.
Fire crews said they dealt with almost 700 calls in six hours and attended 100 emergencies.
Mytholmroyd was one of the worst-affected areas, and residents began a clean-up operation today.
More than £30m has been spent on flood defences since the deluge on Boxing Day 2015.
Early reports from the village were that some of the new defences held but many homes were still flooded.
