WWE Royal Rumble 2020 results: Drew McIntyre triumph, Brock Lesnar shock, Edge is back

WWE unveil WrestleMania TV series following Royal Rumble

The Royal Rumble featured incredible action at the Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. Some of the best superstars from RAW, SmackDown and NXT went to war against each other for a main-event title match at WrestleMania 36.

WWE Champion Brock Lesnar competed in the Men's Royal Rumble Match as the No1 entrant but failed to prevail as he was eliminated by Drew McIntyre.

Lesnar, though, dominated the match as he eliminated a whopping 13 superstars before McIntyre arrived.

McIntyre went on to win the 30-men over-the-top-rope battle royal, which saw the return of WWE Hall of Famer Edge from retirement, by last eliminating Roman Reigns.

The Women's Royal Rumble was won by Charlotte Flair who last eliminated the odds-on favourite Shayna Baszler.

Charlotte didn't reveal the champion she will face at WrestleMania but is determined to make history at the Show of Shows.

Universal Champion Bray Wyatt successfully defended his title against Daniel Bryan in a Strap Match that may have capped off their feud.

RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch put her belt on the line against WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Asuka.

Lynch finally defeated The Empress of Tomorrow in an incredible encounter in Houston.

US Champion Andrade defeated Humberto Carrillo in yet another exciting title match.

Roman Reigns and King Corbin underwent double duty as they clashed in a brutal Falls Count Anywhere Match.

Sheamus also returned to the ring for his first match since April when he got injured as he took on Shorty G.

Sheamus is back in WWE with a major statement following an impressive victory over Shorty G.

The former SmackDown Tag Team Champion nearly spoiled The Celtic Warrior's return with some incredible offence.

Shorty G connected with a Moonsault, a German Suplex and his signature Ankle Lock.

However, Sheamus prevailed and picked up the win with a devastating Brogue Kick.

United States Champion Andrade def. Humberto Carrillo (Kickoff Show)

US Champion Andrade and Humberto Carrillo put together another incredible bout at the Royal Rumble.

Carrillo came close to winning the title with some impecable high-flying offence, most notable move being a hurracanrana off the top rope.

But Andrade regrouped and sealed the win with a Rollup.

It doesn't seem like the two stars are done with each other just yet...

Roman Reigns def. King Corbin (Falls Count Anywhere Match)

Roman Reigns and King Corbin's feud appears to have ended following a brutal Falls Count Anywhere Match.

The two heavyweights fought all over the arena while Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode tried to help Corbin and The Usos came to Reigns' aid.

The Big Dog slammed The Lone Wolf through two tables with a Samoan Drop after being smashed on the commentary desk by a Chokeslam from his rival.

The four-time world champion locked Corbin inside a portable toilet and dropped it while his rival was still in there.

Reigns picked up the win with a thunderous Spear while they were still fighting among the fans.

Both competitors will perform in the Men's Royal Rumble Match later tonight.

Charlotte Flair wins 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble Match

Charlotte Flair earned a women's title match for WrestleMania 36 after winning the Wmen's Royal Rumble Match.

Charlotte emulated her father Ric's triumph in 1992 after eliminating Shayna Baszler, who was the favourite to stand tall.

The Rumble saw a number of surprise entrants like Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix and NXT superstars Toni Storm, Candice LeRae and Bianca Belair who impressed.

Charlotte has yet to announce the title she wil go after at WrestleMania.

SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley def. Lacey Evans

SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley's reign continued after a big win over Lacey Evans.

Evans put together a stunning performance but the titleholder pushed through and won without the help of Sasha Banks, who never appeared.

Bayley picked up the win with a Small Package after holding onto The Lady of WWE's tights.

Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt def. Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan put together an incredible performance in his Strap Match against Bray Wyatt but his offence wasn't enough to win him the Universal Championship.

Both competitors wacked each other with the strap throughout the bout and Bryan connected with the Running Knee.

However, The Fiend put the challenger away with the Mandible Claw for the victory.

Bryan struggled to walk back to the dressing room after the encounter having suffered tremendous punishment from Wyatt.

Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch def. Asuka

RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch finally defeated Asuka at the Royal Rumble following an impecable encounter between the two competitors.

The two women took each other to the limit and the challenger came close to upseting the champion after applying the Asuka Lock but Lynch made it to the ropes.

The Empress of Tomorrow tried to take advantage of an opportunity when the referee turned his back with the Green Mist.

However, The Man kicked Asuka in the stomach and made her spit it all over her own face.

The Irish Lass Kicker then locked in the Dis-Arm-Her and made the Japanese superstar tap out.

Drew McIntyre wins 2020 Men’s Royal Rumble Match

Drew McIntyre is going to WrestleMania 36 to face a world champion of his choosing after winning the Men's Royal Rumble Match.

McIntyre came in at No16 and immediately took out WWE Champion Brock Lesnar who was dominating the match with 13 eliminations to his name.

The British superstar was impressive throughout the marvellous encounter that featured many othe shockers, such as the return of WWE Hall of Famer Edge fom retirement.

The Rated-R Superstar made it to the Final 3 until he was eliminated by Roman Reigns.

McIntyre then levelled The Big Dog with a Claymore and threw him over the top rope for the biggest win of his career.
