Cedar Point Thrill Rides & Roller Coasters Ranked

Cedar Point is a place like no other with 18 world-class roller coasters. The riding experiences are so diverse, there’s a roller coaster for every thrill seeker.

Maverick acts more like a bucking bronco than a coaster. This 4,400-foot-long Intamin coaster has a LSM "lift" hill and a LSM launch in a tunnel underneath the station. The first hill is 105 feet tall and drops at a 95 degree angle. The coaster includes several airtime hills and 2 inversions.

The first giga coaster, Millennium Force was built in 2000 by Intamin. it is 310 ft. tall with a 300ft. drop at 80 degrees, reaching a top speed of 93 MPH. Features two above-ground tunnels, three airtime hills and four overbanked turns.  It is still proclaimed as one of the best roller coasters on Earth, never dipping below number two on many annual polls.

Top Thrill Dragster is an Intamin accelerator coaster, and the worlds second tallest coaster. Launches riders from 0 to 120 MPH in under 4 seconds, the train careerns upward to a staggering 420 feet, then spirals back to earth and crosses the finish line.

Valravn is the world's tallest, fastest and longest dive coaster. After leaving the station, the train ascends a 223-foot-tall lift hill, before plummeting down a 214-foot vertical drop at speeds of up to 75 miles per hour. After passing through an Immelmann loop, riders experience a second drop of 131 feet, before racing into a dive loop and a 270-degree corkscrew-style roll.

Steel Vengeance  is the tallest (205 feet), fastest (74 mph) and longest (5,740 feet) hybrid coaster that packs in almost 30 seconds of airtime - the most airtime on ANY roller coaster in the world - along with twists, turns and close calls during the 2 minute, 30 second ride. Drop 200 feet at 90 degrees and topple through 4 head-over-boots inversions through wood, steel and mayhem.

GateKeeper is the longest ride of its type, and the third to open in the US. At its tallest point, GateKeeper will stand some 170-feet-tall. Its circuit will feature 6 inversions, including a dive loop, an Immelmann loop, a giant corksrew, two zero-g rolls and an inclined dive loop.

Magnum XL-200 is the worlds first hyper-coaster, and still the one with the best retro-dork cool name. With a 205-foot tall first hill and top speed of 72 mph, it made its debut in 1989 and soon after attained "legend" status.

Raptor is one of the prime examples of B&M's inverted roller coaster design, guests are suspended in ski-lift style trains on this green coaster that simulates the flight pattern of a hungry bird of prey.  It is 3,790-feet long, stands 137-feet tall, goes upside down six times and flies at a top speed of 57 mph.

Wicked Twister is the tallest, fastest "double-twisting" impulse roller coaster. Using a LIM launch system, riders blast out of the station at 50 miles per hour, gradually increasing it's speed to a top speed of 72 MPH. Following a U-shaped track with twin 215-foot, 450-degree twisting towers, Each ride launches out of the station five times--three forward and two backward.

Gemini is a dual "racing" coasters on twin figure-8 tracks. With its timber lattices, it may look like a traditional wooden coaster, but Gemini actually uses tubular steel tracks. Gemini features a 125 foot first hill and a top speed of about 60 mph.

MaxAir is one of the best giant flat rides in Cedar Point. It sends riders swinging 140 feet in the air at 70 mph while also spinning 12 times per minute.

Power Tower features two towers that rockets riders 240 feet into the air and two towers that blast riders back down to earth from the same height. No matter the direction you will experience speeds up to 60 mph, but the choice of which direction you’re launched is left in your hands.

Of Course, there are also tons of family rides to be ridden at Cedar Point. This is great for families with little ones or kids who just aren't really into roller coasters quite yet.

Kiddy Kingdom Carousel is a classic merry-go-round. This beautiful menagerie carousel features 52 animals including everything from bears to rabbits, donkeys and two grand chariots.

Cedar Point's railroad is not only good for transportation between the Millennium Force midway and Frontier Town. It's also a ride in and of itself: one half of the leg features views of Lake Erie and Millennium Force, while the second leg travels through a city run by old West skeletons. A burning house, a home brewery, and a shootout are highlights.

Sky Fighters sees young children board plane-themed gondolas, which rotate around a central column, raising slightly into the air as they go.

Other family rides like 4×4's, Antique Cars, Pipe Scream, Camp Bus, Flying Ace Balloon Race and more  are also worth experiencing.
