Verne Troyer was an American actor, comedian, stunt man, and reality star. He starred as “Mini-Me” in the Austin Powers film series. His film credits include How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001). He appeared in television programs like The Surreal Life, and Celebrity Big Brother. Troyer was born on January 1, 1969, in Sturgis, Michigan. He was diagnosed with dwarfism as a baby. His father, Reuben, was a technician, and his mother, Susan, a factory worker. He had two siblings, Davon and Deborah. Troyer attended Centreville High School in Centreville, Michigan. He graduated in 1987.

CAREER
Troyer moved to Arlington, Texas, after high school. He began his career in show business as a stunt man. His first major gig was as a stunt double for a 9-month old baby in the film Baby’s Day Out (1994). He played an orangutan in Dunston Checks In (1996), and a baby gorilla in Mighty Joe Young (1998). Other early films include Pinocchio’s Revenge (1996) with Rosalind Allen, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998) with Johnny Depp. He did various stunts for Paul Pistore for the live-action television series Masked Rider (1995-96).

Troyer was cast as “Mini-Me”, the evil sidekick of Dr. Evil in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999). The film was directed by Jay Roach and stars Mike Myers. The role of Mini-Me was reprised in Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002). Troyer appeared opposite Jim Carrey in the Christmas drama film Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000). He had a small role as “Griphook”, a goblin in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001). Other films include Bubble Boy (2001), The Love Guru (2009), The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009), and Keith Lemon: The Film (2012).
