Baby Groot stole our hearts during the end credits of Guardians of the Galaxy as he danced in his pot to “I Want You Back’ by The Jackson 5. Much to everyone’s delight, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 picks right back up on that during its opening sequence. Once again, Baby Groot steals the scene as he dances to “Mr. Blue Sky” by Electric Light Orchestra while his Guardians comrades struggle to take down a massive space creature and tell him to watch out. It’s hilarious and so darn adorable.
In celebration of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 passing $800 million worldwide, director James Gunn has blessed us with a behind the scenes look at how Baby Groot got those sweet moves. Just like “I Want You Back”, Gunn supplied his own dance moves for Baby Groot, and the proof is all over social media.
What kind of dancing should we expect from Teenage Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Let’s hope James Gunn doesn’t learn how to twerk anytime soon.
