Visualize a beautifully painted picture with lush greenery, sparkling waterfalls and fluttering birds- something that soothes you. Now imagine the picture being torn apart- slowly, distorting it completely till we are left with nothing but meaningless pieces and a shattered heart.
Uncertainty of a human life
This can be anybody’s life right now where everything seems to be falling apart.
Nothing seems certain, the future seems bleak and unyielding. The pandemic has swept through the world, threatening to take people’s lives. A microscopic virus- invisible to the human eye has been enough to disturb us. Even without a ghastly pandemic, life can be chaotic. Not one person has been without troubles. Every day, people lose jobs, families get shattered and friends lose trust in each other. The mental, financial and emotional stress caused often leads to violent behaviors and even suicides.
Frantically we run around and start to seek pleasure and solace in fame, fortune and vices like drugs to fill in the void. But those who have tasted these, I am sure will tell you that nothing ever gave them lasting inner peace.
Words of encouragement
Here are the words of Someone-
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)
Wow! Who would make such a statement?
How am I not supposed to be troubled or afraid, while the storms rage and the waves roar?
Many give up the search for true peace thinking it is impossible to find. But my friend, it is possible through faith in Jesus Christ- the One who spoke the above words. He understands you…He knows what you’re going through and most importantly He loves you enough to comfort you.
A wonderful gift
He is willing to offer you something money cannot buy. It is not given as the world gives-sparingly, selfishly and for a short period of time. His gift of peace is forever.
All you have to do is put your trust in Him who died on the cross to forgive your sins and mine, “And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7). His love is unending-it shields you and extends beyond our fears and unrest. His love will never leave you.
Are you willing to accept the peace that He offers?
