Every year Bollywood releases songs that we love and can’t get them out of our heads. And this year was no different, even though 2020-21 was an extremely uncertain year we saw a lot of good films and more than that a lot of good numbers. Some songs just helped us cope with the stress and lift our moods. From feel good songs, groovy numbers to love songs the year had one for every mood. 1. Aabaad Barbaad –LUDO

LUDO directed by Anurag Basu and released on popular OTT platform Netflix has songs for every mood and Aabaad Barbaad is on top of our feel good songs list and we just can’t get enough of it! Sung by Arijit Singh with the soulful lyrics by Sandeep Srivastava and composed by Pritam, the song features the entire cast of the film and showcases the romance and emotions of each character. This song will definitely cheer you up if you’re having a bad day.

2. Mere Liye Tum Kaafi Ho - Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, a film that revolves around an LGBTQ couple fighting societal norms, had the most perfect love song for the new age lovers. Mere Liye Tum Kaafi Ho sung by the main lead himself Ayushmann Khurana, written by Vayu and composed by Tanishk Bagchi. This song was widely loved by the audience for all the right reasons. Not only does this song capture the true emotion of love but also talks about the depth and purity of love and connects with all the lovers despite their sexual preferences and is perfect to send to your someone special in case you’re missing them!

3. Burjkhalifa - Laxmii

Starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani, the song Burjkhalifa is our go-to dance number these days. Based and shot around the iconic tower Burj Khailfa, the song was an instant hit among the audience because of its quirky lyrics and pop culture references. Sung and composed by Shashi and D J Khushi and written by Gagan Ahuja, the peppy song has joined the ever-growing list of Punjabi songs in bollywood. Kiara Advani looked glamorous as always while Akshay Kumar looked his best.  

4. Khulke Jeene Ka - Dil Bechara

Dil Bechara directed by Mukesh Chhabra, starring late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi, has great songs but the one that hits different every time, has to be Khulke Jeene Ka. Sung by the talented Arijit Singh and Shashaa Tirupati, written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music by AR Rahman, the song is true to its mischievous romance as shown in the film. This number created magic and gained a lot of praise from the audience. The simple structure and minimal accompaniments of the song made it all the more enjoyable.

5. Nadiyon Paar – Roohi

Roohi, a horror comedy directed by Hardik Mehta took us back in time when we heard the song Nadiyon Par. Featuring Gen-Z star Janhvi Kapoor in the desi version of Shamur’s song the actor killed it with her moves and looks. Just like the original song this number also makes the audience dance to its tunes. Nadiyon Par has an Arabic touch to it, in terms of the aesthetic of the music video and beats of the music. We can surely say that this song will get you and your friends to the dance floor in no time.

6. Ole Ole 2.0 - Jawaani Janeman

Back in 1994, Saif Ali Khan made all of us dance to the song Ole Ole from the movie Yeh Dillagi and 27 years later he created the same magic with Alaya F for the movie Jawaani Janeman with Ole Ole 2.0. The new version sung by Amit Mishra and composed by Tanishk Bagchi keeps the vibe of the old song alive and is the perfect party mix for millennials. The song is definitely groovy and is our go-to party anthem.

7. Haan Mai Galat - Love Aaj Kal

From groovy numbers to love songs, Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal has it all. Featuring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan and Arushi Sharma the song is the new version of the hit number Twist from the 2009 original starring Saif Ali Khan. Sung by Arijit Singh and Shashwat Singh, written by Irshad Kamil and music by Pritam, the song is all about making mistakes and how it’s a part of life. One of the best dance numbers of 2020, this song definitely gets everyone on the dance floor.

8. Kudi Nu Nachne De - Angrezi Medium

Angrezi Medium directed by Homi Adajania, starring late actor Irrfan Khan and Radhika Madan has a list of new bollywood songs but the one that won over the audience in no time was Kudi Nu Nachne De. Featuring bollywood divas Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Radhika Madan, Katrina Kaif, Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Pandey, Kriti Sanon and Kiara Advani the song celebrates womanhood. Sung by Vishal Dadlani, lyrics by Priya Saraiya and composed by Sachin Jigar , the song talks about gender equality. While the lyrics are meaningful, its catchy track will keep you grooving.

9. Humraah - Malang

Mohit Suri’s Malang starring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Disha Patani, the film has a number of soulful songs and Humraah is got to be everyone’s favourite. Sung by Sachet Tondon, penned by Kunaal Vermaa and composed by The Fusion Project, the song is all things romantic and mellifluous. With the correct balance of everything the song is catchy and vibrant and is definitely on everyone’s feel good playlist. Beginning with the slow build-up and the transformation after the beat drops is exceptional and the best part of the song.

10. Teri Bhabhi - Coolie no. 1

Teri Bhabhi from the film Coolie no. 1 is a winner in the entertainment category. The upbeat dance number featuring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan is all about chemistry, expressions and entertainment. The audience loved the full paced beats and quirky lyrics sung by Javed–Mohsin, Dev Negi and Neha Kakkar, lyrics by Danish Sabri and composed by Javed–Mohsin. And we must say we’re hooked to it!
