Royal Enfield’s 350cc lineup currently comprises Classic, Meteor, Hunter and the recently launched new-gen Bullet. The Chennai-based bikemaker is planning to add a fifth model to the 350cc range in the form of Bobber 350. Test mules of this motorcycle have already been spotted on a few occasions recently.
Royal Enfield Bobber 350 spied
A prototype of the Bobber 350 has been caught on camera again, this time unveiling a few new details. The most noticeable feature on display is the pillion seat which looks like an accessory unit. Ideally, a bobber-style motorcycle is meant only for the rider, point in case are the Jawa Perak and 42 Bobber.
The construction of the pillion seat with no apparent support beneath it, more like an aftermarket unit, indicates that it will be offered as an accessory. Other visual highlights of the Bobber 350 include very tall handlebars pulled back slightly towards the rider. Aided by forward-set footpegs, the bike offers a comfortable lean back riding posture but not like a full-fledged cruiser.
The other significant highlight is an all-new exhaust muffler not seen in any of the Enfield models yet. This suggests that the Bobber 350 will carry a very distinct exhaust note, different from the rest of the 350cc range. The taillight and rear turn indicators appear to be LED units.
Royal Enfield Bobber 350: Expected specs, features
Powering the Bobber 350 will be the same 349cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that propels other 350cc Enfields. This motor pushes out 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. However, for the Bobber 350, this engine could be offered with a slightly different tune and mapping.
As for features, the Bobber 350 is expected to offer a USB charging, a semi-digital instrument console and an optional Turn-by-Turn navigation. It will carry forward the same underpinnings as its current 350cc siblings.
