As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, political campaigning has intensified with major leaders holding rallies across the capital. On Wednesday, both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge are scheduled to address the public in separate rallies.

Prime Minister Modi will be holding several rallies in the city until February 2. Today, he will visit the Ghonda Assembly seat in North East Delhi, a constituency where the BJP secured victory in the 2020 elections, while the AAP dominated the remaining 62 constituencies. Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is set to address a rally in Burari Assembly, a key seat traditionally held by AAP, which has won the constituency in the past three elections.

The Election Commission (EC) took action on Tuesday following complaints from BJP and Congress leaders, demanding AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal provide evidence to back his claim that the BJP-led Haryana government was “poisoning” Delhi’s water supply ahead of the February 5 elections. The EC has given Kejriwal until 8 pm on Wednesday to respond.
