I have had the same discussion many times on the subject of why many Bosch washing machines don't have a spin-only facility.
Customers have complained that they sometimes want to spin clothes that are wet, but don't require rinsing. Most current Bosch machines have no dedicated 'spin' position on the dial, but instead, a rinse/spin option.
Therefore, to spin only, the customer selects this setting then has to wait for the machine to first rinse before the desired spin.
The answer to this is not completely clear in the instruction sheet but you can make the machine spin only without a rinse.
The answer is to select the rinse/spin setting then TURN OFF the rinse by touching the 'aqua plus' button which is initially illuminated when rinse/spin is selected. Turning this illumination off switches off the rinses and the machine goes straight to spin.
So simple but I've been to countless customers who had no idea this was even possible!
