Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of midfielder Hector Herrera on a three-year contract, the Spanish club announced on Wednesday.

Mexico international Hector Herrera spent the last six years playing for FC Porto, where he won a league title and scored 27 goals for the Dragões.
Herrera had long been a rumored target for a number of European teams, but his transfer to Atletico comes at a free.
On international duty, Herrera has been a pivotal player for the Mexico National Team through the course of the last few years, playing in two World Cups and scoring five goals. He was also part of Mexico’s Gold Medal-winning team in the 2012 London Summer Olympics.
Herrera joins Hugo Sanchez, Raul Jimenez, Luis Garcia, and Javier Aguirre, among other Mexicans to have played or coached at Atletico Madrid.
