It is SO easy to make this Air-Fryer Toast! Super quick, and convenient—you won’t want to make your toast any other way!
Breakfast is so important because it’s the first meal of the day. Breakfast needs to fill our bellies AND nourish us, giving us the energy and nutrients we need to tackle the day ahead. I love easy breakfast recipes that are anything but boring and taste delish. Sometimes, though, I just need a good ol’ slice of toast with my favorite toppings, and I’m all set. Today, I’m going to show you the EASIEST breakfast recipe of all time: toast in an air fryer!
Is this even a recipe? I don’t know. BUT, if you are like me and always seem to burn your toast on account of not being able to see it in the toaster, you are going to be REALLY excited about this one.
Air-fryer toast might just be the latest and greatest addition to your breakfast. It’s easier than literally any single recipe that I have on the blog. It’s like pressing the “easy” button at breakfast. Simple, tasty, and a great way to start the day when you don’t want to fuss too much in the morning. Who could ask for more?
Is This Air-Fryer Toast Healthy?
If you use a good-quality bread and keep the toppings of choice healthy, you bet! Whole-grain bread, for example, is a good source of fiber and complex carbohydrates. Top it with a healthy nut butter and some sliced banana, and your day will be off to a perfect start!
The Healthiest Breads
While a nice piece of toasted white bread slathered with butter can be a thing of beauty, if you’re going for breads that are not only delicious but also wholesome, think outside the box and try different varieties. One of my favorites is Ezekiel bread. Made from sprouted whole grains (wheat, millet, barley, and spelt) and legumes (soybeans and lentils), this bread contains no refined flour and is an excellent source of fiber, protein, vitamins, and minerals. The taste is hearty, with a subtle sweetness and a slightly chewy bite. Another bread I regularly buy is sourdough. This naturally fermented bread is not only less likely to cause spikes in blood sugar, but with its nutty taste and dense crumb, it practically demands to be served toasted and topped with healthy ingredients like mashed avocado!
FAQs & Tips
Toast should be freshly made and served warm. You definitely don’t want toast that has been lying around for a while losing its crispness!
When making your air-fryer toast, you can tweak the recipe however you want to so that it suits your needs and preferences. For example, depending on the thickness of your bread, you may need to adjust the cooking time a little bit so that the bread is perfectly toasted. It’s best to toast the bread by the slice, but if you must cook 2 slices of bread at once, make sure they don’t overlap in the mesh basket of your air fryer.
Serving Suggestions
Another fantastic thing about this air-fryer toast is that you can dress it up or down and enjoy it JUST the way you like it! This toast would be delicious alongside some Scrambled Eggs and a side of Air-Fryer Turkey Bacon. It would also go well with a generous amount of your favorite nut butter. I love Homemade Almond Butter, natural peanut butter, and cashew butter! Can’t do nuts? Pumpkin Seed Butter is for you! Bring on the sweetness by adding a bit of Healthy Strawberry Chia Jam or a simple drizzle of honey to your toast.
And if you want to make garlic bread, simply add some butter and garlic salt to the bread before toasting it in the air fryer!
