Jessica Dobson
Jessica Dobson joined the FOX 35 Storm Team as its newest meteorologist in January 2024.
She was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky and graduated from Western Kentucky University, where she was selected to participate in the school's esteemed Field Methods in Weather Analysis and Forecasting Class.
In that class, she helped forecast severe convective weather and essentially chase storms across the country. Jessica and her classmates chased and documented more than 20 tornadoes and countless storms.
While at WKU, Jessica was hired to be the weekday evening meteorologist at Bowling Green, Kentucky. She then moved to Decatur, Illinois, where she worked as the morning meteorologist at WAND-TV where she saw wind chills of below 40 degrees, cold winters, and severe summer storms.
She then moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where she tracked hurricanes, tropical storms, as well as the heat and humidity. She then moved back to Louisville, and is now back in Florida, where she's excited to help keep Central Floridians aware of Florida's unique weather patterns, severe weather, tropical storms, hurricanes, and everything in between.
Outside of work, Jessica enjoys reading and spending time with her two cats – Stormy and Oscar. She is also looking forward to Florida's warm summer temperatures, mild winters, and exploring all of the fun that Florida has to offer.
