Instructions for Staging This Magical Elf Idea

So how do you do that? This is actually a very easy idea for The Elf on the Shelf. It can be done in a few short minutes.

Start by cutting a piece of double-sided sticky tape that will fit along the back of the bathroom sink faucet. Cover the sticky sides of the tape with colorful sprinkles. Keep the top inch without sprinkles so it can be taped to the faucet.
Carefully attach the sprinkle-covered tape to the back of the faucet, making it look like sprinkles are coming out of the tap instead of water.
Sprinkle a small pile of sprinkles in the bottom of the sink to add to the illusion that the faucet has been pouring sprinkles. It is best to close your sink so they do not go down the drain.
Create a small sign out of cardstock that says, “Who needs water when you have sprinkles!?” Have your little friend hold the sign for an extra dose of fun. Clare made her sign in pretty rainbow colors.
Position The Elf on the Shelf on or near the sink handle, as if they are responsible for turning on the “sprinkle magic.”
