Agency Funding

Agency Funding

Depending on your circumstances, you may have access to other college funding options through various governmental agencies. For help navigating community resources that can potentially fund your education or everyday life expenses, connect with Fox Valley Tech's Student Financial Navigators for 1-on-1 personal guidance. FVTC's Student Financial Navigators work closely with non-profits and various agencies in the community and can talk through options including but not limited to, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), the Skills Enhancement Program through WiscCap, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity ACT (WIOA), and many more.

Examples of resources students have utilized in the past:

Dislocated Workers

  • Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA): Assistance with career aptitude assessments, job search assistance, funding for school, or on-the-job training.
  • Trade Readjustment Act/Trade Adjustment Assistance (TRA/TAA): Unemployment Insurance benefit extension and/or college funding assistance for eligible employees from companies that can justify labor competition from foreign countries:

People with Disabilities

  • Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR): This federal/state program helps people with disabilities get a job. Get assistance with college and training costs.

Skills Enhancement Program

  • If you work at least 20 hours per week and your household income meets the eligibility guidelines, you can get assistance with education-related expenses (tuition, books, miscellaneous fees), training-related transportation costs and/or child care expenses while attending classes.

private loans

Private Loans

Private loans are non-federal educational loans that are typically offered by private lenders to assist with educational and living expenses not covered by other financial aid. In general, you may borrow up to the cost of education minus all other financial aid you receive. Your eligibility for a private loan is determined by the difference between your total Cost of Attendance and any other financial aid.

For many students and parents, private loans are an important resource to help pay for educational expenses. Private loans can help fill the gap between need-based financial aid and your total educational costs.

529 College Savings Plans

529 College Savings plan checks for tuition and books cannot be combined as the funds go to two different businesses.

  • FVTC tuition: make check payable for tuition only to FVTC and mail to FVTC. Include student name and student ID number.
  • Books purchased through eCampus: make separate check payable to eCampus. Include FVTC, student name, and FVTC student ID number in the memo of the check so that they can properly allocate the funds. Mail check to:
