Piscina with Butterfly, St Nicholas' church, Normanton
Dating from the 11th century onwards.
It has clerestoried nave, north and south aisles with 2 bay arcades, west tower and north vestry. The clerestories have embattled parapets with gargoyles.
The south arcade dates from 12th C. the chancel arch and north arcade from 13th C. The font is 12th C. with circular bowl on a round base.
The chancel has a boarded ceiling with curved beams and was partly rebuilt in 1845 when the Vestry was also added.
To the west of the south porch is a Scratch dial.
The pulpit is 17th C. wooden hexagonal with a tester.
In the chancel is a 19th-century piscina and aumbry.
The church was declared redundant in February 1974
