This bit of the road to the Claerwen reservoir cuts across the corner of the square. On the left there is a thin belt of deciduous woodland between road and forestry; you can see up the road where this stops, and the conifers bound the road itself.

A path less trod. Sheep have made good use of this quiet track but there were no boot prints, A fallen pine suggests that this path is not often used by walkers although it provides an excellent route above Caban-coch Reservoir here.
