Railway Station, Beeston
A pair of speeding Class 20s pass within inches of a group of permanent way workers. It will soon pass under the Station Road/Meadow Road fly-over, which replaced a level crossing. The leading locomotive is 20085. It still retains its headcode discs. I don't know what three discs denote, but all four displayed signify a Royal train.
The overbridge is for the convenience of anyone wishing to get from Technology Drive to Dovecote Lane and vice versa. The first building to the right is the Victoria Hotel.
The station was built in 1839 for the Midland Counties Railway, which shortly joined the North Midland Railway and the Birmingham and Derby Junction Railway to form the Midland Railway.
