It takes a lot to knock my socks off when it comes to hair products, but my socks? They are currently off, thanks to L'Oreal Total Repair 5 Damage-Erasing Balm.
You might have heard of this hair mask by now (India covered it in her usual Under $10 roundup a few weeks ago, for instance), and you might have seen other bloggers rave about it. But I swear it's not all hype. This stuff is fantastic.
I admit I was skeptical at first. After all, it claims to reverse a year's worth of damage in one use, and that sets off some alarm bells, since hair isn't alive and can't be "fixed" the way, say, your skin can heal when it's cut. But I slapped it on my head and hoped for the best anyway. And what I found: Any day I use it, my hair is about 100 times more manageable. No, really. It goes from ornery to well-behaved in just a couple of minutes. I suppose it has something to do with the fancy smoothing ceramides and the strength-reinforcing arginine in it. But it might also contain magic. The jury is out. But what is really remarkable is how light-weight it is. Usually when I love a mask, it's so heavy I have to warn you fine-haired girls to stay away from it. Not so with this stuff. It's a balm, you see, so it's more like a gel than a cream. But somehow it's still as hydrating. Amazing.
So if you're looking for a new mask, this is one I recommend you give a go. It's inexpensive and it works. What more could you ask for, really?
Have any of you tried it?
