This Super Bowl Sunday, I’m interested in only two things: Rihanna and the relationship status of Travis Kelce. I’ve gathered that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end has been publicly looking for love for most of his professional career, from starring in a Bachelor-esque reality show called Chasing Kelce to his five-year on-again, off-again relationship with broadcast sports journalist and model Kayla Nicole.
Now that he and Nicole are affirmatively off again, Kelce is rumored to be dating another media personality, Access Hollywood correspondent Zuri Hall. Evidence to back up these rumors, however, appears scant at best. According to Hollywood Life, a video of Hall posted by a friend of the NFL player sparked speculation when fans spotted Kelce himself in the background. Fans also claimed that Hall and Nicole unfollowed each other on social media around that time. Not exactly a smoking gun.
If Kelce and Hall really are dating, it appears to be a pretty casual relationship. In a January 2023 interview with the podcast The Pivot, Kelce said he was single. “I’m in the free market right now,” the NFL star said. “I’m out there just enjoying life, focused on my profession. Got my feet up outside of football.” Hall, meanwhile, doesn’t seem to have said anything publicly about her relationship status at all.
Kelce may not be publicly dating at the moment, but he was willing to dispel another rumor about his previous relationship. Some outlets have claimed that he and Nicole broke up partly because he made her pay for half of everything, which he says is BS. “I would never say that I was supporting her,” Kelce said in his interview with the hosts of The Pivot. “She had a very financially stable life and what she was doing in her career. You’ve got to be crazy if you think I’d never helped or gave her a couple dollars to grab some food or she gave me some money…. We were in a relationship for five years. A hundred dollars here and hundred dollars there wasn’t even thought about, which is ridiculous.”
I wouldn’t be shocked to see Travis Kelce starring in The Bachelor sometime soon, in other words.
