We loved The Mortal Instruments; City of Bones at GLAMOUR HQ. But sadly the film didn't perform quite so well at the Box Office, taking just $31 million in the US. So plans to make the film into a franchise were shelved.

But now it turns out Cassandra Clare's story will return to the screen - the small screen, that is. The Hollywood Reporter have revealed that the novels will be adapted for a high end TV series.

"It actually makes sense to do (the novels) as a TV series," Constantin film and TV head Martin Moszkowicz told the site. "There was so much from the book that we had to leave out of theMortal Instruments film. In the series we'll be able to go deeper and explore this world in greater detail and depth."

We're excited about this news - but we'll be even MORE excited if original cast members Jamie Campbell-Bower and Lily Collins return for the news series.
