Lake Nona Golf & Country Club
About
The golf course at the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club is quite popular among locals, with many claiming that it is the best golf course in the Orlando area. The terrain has a plethora of stately trees, including oaks, pines, and cypress trees and also a few freshwater lakes. There are also many strategically placed bunkers situated throughout the course. Locals appreciate the excellent greens that are very demanding. The finishing hole, a par 4, is notably difficult due to the water hazard that comes into play alongside the fairway. The Lake Nona Golf & Country Club boasts a chipping area and putting green as well as a golf school.

Impeccable conditions
The pros are members here for a reason.... The course is in phenomenal condition. Henrik Stenson and Ian Poulter live on the course among many others. I got to experience the course for the first time with member and hall of famer Charles Woodson in my foursome which was a cool experience as well. Have to find a member of you want to golf here as it's super private and exclusive. Condition wise I would rank it in my top 2-3 courses I have ever played and would compare to almost Augusta like conditions... I'm not a fan of Orlando golf because I feel it's all the same so that was my only downfall.... But still five stars all the way around.
Best course in Orlando...
The title of this piece says it all. This is the best golf course in Orlando and I don't think it's particularly close.
The layout is terrific, it's groomed to perfection and it's just a great, great overall golf experience. The par 3 holes have a great variety, as do the 4s and 5s.
It's impossible not to enjoy the whole round. Simply impossible.
Great for the pros and a cool experience for the rest of us
Lake Nona is one of those private clubs spoken of in hushed tones by much of the pro golf-loving public because it's the home club for a bunch of Tour pros, including Henrik Stenson, Ian Poulter and Graeme McDowell (whose Nona Blue restaurant is just a couple minutes away). The course really impressed me, as it's nominally a Tom Fazio design, but it also received heavy influence from Mike Strantz. Strantz's bold contouring and distinctive bunkering style is evident throughout the course, giving Lake Nona a distinctive feel. If you get the chance, play here.
Outstanding golf facility
Best golf course in central Florida and I'm including Isleworth and Bah Hill in that statement.
It's a faultless golf course, in amazing conditioning especially the greens at this time of year.
practice facility is amazing, clubhouse is superb and the 4 finishing holes are as good as anywhere.
If you had to have a downside it would be the fact that its a private club so really difficult to get on but if you can jump at the chance.
If you ever get the chance.... do it!
Have always heard great things about Nona from various people and just the mystique of the who's who that lives/plays there. I had the opportunity to tag along with a member there and would go again in a heartbeat. Course has a great blend of score-able holes and very difficult holes. The greens are definitely on the quick side. All in all, had a great time and hope to go back soon.
If the Opportunity Arises - Play Lake Nona
Lake Nona is known for lavish houses, celebrities, and oh yes... a golf course. One of the best in Central Florida, but not easy to get on. The course is always maintained well and has a wonderful range facility. The staff is extremely professional and service oriented. If you play the correct set of tee's the course is not overly challenging. There are scenic views of the lake and the greens are always in tip top condition. You might even see Lou Holtz running around the neighborhood as well.
No Contest - Best course in Orlando
If you find yourself fortunate enough to get onto Lake Nona you will be walking into a golfer's paradise. The staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. The practice facility on the front and back ranges are world class for their elite membership and the professionals who call Nona home.
The day we played was with two members hosting us and you quickly get over the fact that you're surrounded by golfing royalty. Playing behind were a few tour professionals at least one of them a major champion.
The greens roll as if they were half grass / half glass and this was 2 months after they lost their greens to an infection. The pace of play is GO, as in, go hit your ball right now. A 3 hour 18 hole foursome isn't rare here, it's common.
This is a course that is worth the drive out past the airport. Admire the scenery as you pass through some of the most beautiful homes in Orlando.
Amazing Facility
This is a wonderful treat, from driving through the gates to finishing up on 18th, your jaw will continue to drop. The staff is very customer service oriented, the practice facility is the best in Florida, oh, and the is in amazing condition. The golf courses isn't too challenging, but there are a few risk reward holes that can make or break your round. THere is nothing like seeing all of the extraordinary houses lining most of the fairways as well.
