I would have given this 3 stars, which Shawn Lane usually gets from me, but I really didn't see this couple sticking together at the end. I love Toby, but I'm not sure I liked Lucas much, and I didn't really believe that he'd change enough for their relationship to work out in the long run.

I did LOVE Toby's mom though :D

Toby, best friends with Kirk from book #1, starts to date Lucas, an actor from a TV series and also Toby's boyfriend's brother. Lucas appears quite shallow so does not make an engaging main character and detracted from the story.

The book doesn't live up to expectations. The story is slow and hinted at some drama that never eventuated The ending with was also a bit weak.

I really enjoyed this second book in the series. I wasn’t sure I was going to since Lucas and Toby had so much chemistry in the previous book when they met and from the blurb they each seemed to have gone their separate ways since then. However, their relationship was very sweet and though it could have benefited from being longer so we could get a couple of answers about what the future held for them, it was very satisfying.

Poor Toby was so jaded. When he thought “every guy he’d been with thought Toby was sexy and fun to play around with, but no one ever wanted to have a long-term relationship. Not with a stripper. They were just for sex” my heart went out to him. While I knew that he and Lucas would get their HEA, so many people doubted their relationship and I was worried about Lucas a couple of times, so I wondered how it was all going to play out. I loved how Lucas finally proved to Toby that he was the man that would finally love him for who he was and I finished this book with a big, goofy smile on my face.

I don't remember why I got this one. This book is awful and doesn't even try to resolve the simple premise it started with. Maybe it's just my copy but I got extra letters and words combined so it was terribly edited. Waste of time book. If you want to read a good book with a stripper I suggest Tricks. At least that writer pays attention to his writing craft.

Nice and sweet story, although I think it did feel unfinished somehow. Like the build-up and the resolution had happened too close to the end and there hadn't been enough time to fully develop a satisfying ending.
I still liked it, but I'd love to see an epilogue of sorts to see how the guys are doing now.

Becoming His is the sequel to Accidentally His. You might remember Toby, Kirk’s best friend from the previous book. When Toby met Kirk’s boyfriend’s sexy brother sparks flew, but could not be dealt with because Lucas had a girlfriend at the time. In the second book, that is not an issue as Lucas breaks up with said girlfriend and immediately asks out Toby. The two date and things are great until other characters start pointing out that a bisexual actor (Lucas) openly dating a gay man – who just happens to be a stripper named Joey Flamingo – might not be a good thing for Lucas’ career. Add in Lucas’ jealousy of other men drooling over Toby at his job and the tension builds to a climax.

For just 81 pages, Shawn Lane packs in the drama, sex, romance and the awesomeness that is Toby. Truly, this character nearly stole the show in Accidentally His and in this book he is the show. Utterly charming, gorgeous, funny and flamboyant, Toby is a sight to behold. How anyone could not love him is beyond me. (I dare you to read this book and not like Toby. Actually, I double dog dare you.) It is no wonder Lucas falls for him so quickly.

But for me, the main issue in this novella is whether Lucas can accept Toby, the stripper, in his life. Despite being in love with Toby, he worries it might end his career, so they break up. Then Lucas has to decide if loving Toby is worth everything…after he decides it is, the question is then will Toby take him back?

I liked the fact Lucas had flaws, was a bit selfish, as it fit in with his characterization from Accidentally His as a sort-of vain actor. Since he quickly pulls his head out of his ass to go and reclaim his man, I forgave him for being a jerk. The sweetness of Lucas and Toby’s relationship was the key for me in liking Becoming His.

Becoming His is a sweet story about true love and what we are willing to sacrifice to have happiness. I liked the fact Toby was himself, never changing despite other people’s ideas about who and what he should be. Toby encompassed the phrase: “To thy own self be true,” and it was his joie de vivre that truly sold the novella for me. Recommended.

I'm not going to go into too much detail here as Jenre will be reviewing this on BER in the coming weeks, however this is the continuation of Accidentally His which I reviewed. Kirk's stripper friend Toby and Elijah's bi actor brother Lucas. When they meet up on the set, Lucas finally breaks up with his girlfriend so he can pursue Toby. He thinks Toby is hot, but the whole dating a stripper while you are trying to be an actor has problems and while Lucas claims he's fine with Toby's career, yeah, not so much. While at the end Lucas promises to not bug Toby about it and that he's fine with him stripping, I just didn't buy it. Sure he says that, but could he really sacrifice his career for a relationship with a stripper? Somehow I don't see this ending well, and sometimes it's hard for me to get past my cynicism even in the romance world. :-) Toby was adorable though.

Cute companion book to Accidentally His starring Elijah's brother Lucas and Kirk's BFF Toby. Toby is a stripper who is attracted to Lucas, an actor on a Cable show. Lucas is bisexual and currently dating a woman. But he is very attracted to Toby. His relationship is winding down with Melissa and they decide to call it off since it's not what either of them want. Lucas then pursues Toby. Toby's been burned in the past by bisexual guys who really just want to get their rocks off for a while until they find another woman, so he's a bit skeptical of Lucas's motives/intentions. Despite that, Toby finds himself falling for Lucas. Of course there have to be some naysayers along the way - like Kirk and Elijah and Lucas's jackass of a co-star. But Lucas really does care for Toby. How will they work it out? That's for you to find out when you read this sweet and hot novella!

This was a sweet short m/m romance about a stripper and a bisexual television actor getting together. However, it felt incomplete to me. The whole groper subplot sort of stuttered out. And the ending felt somewhat forced and abrupt.

Entertaining little short story. Interesting characters, but too short to really develop any depth, which is sad because it had a lot of potential. 3 stars for the story but had to give a fourth because I really like Toby!!!

I like Toby and how utterly gone Lucas was. It was interesting how everyone was concerned for Lucas career and Toby's heart. I really liked the resolution. That they aknowledged that there are issues but they were both willing to work at those to be together

Not one of the SL's that I like. Maybe I don't care for men who like wearing make-up or cross-dress now and then or maybe I found the story a little too unsubstantial. Probably both.

Cute story but I failed to see what connected the two main characters except for the good sex.

Another perfect little story. This time we get a closer look at Lucas and Toby from Accidently His.

I loved both characters and enjoyed their romance. My only complaint is it was too short lol.
