Tamsin had a nomadic childhood (eight different schools!), but the one place that always felt like home was Shetland, her mother’s homeland. Shetland is a collection of teeny tiny islands, so far north they struggle to fit on the map. They are overflowing with myths and legends, most of which are true. Growing up, Tamsin was usually to be found on the beach, whispering spells into sea shells and singing to the selkies.

Tamsin now lives in Bath with her husband, two children, one rabbit, several crows, and a badger, though she flies home to Shetland whenever she can – if you go there in the summer, you’ll probably spot her, striding about with the wind in her hair, chasing a wild story.

I kept this book especially for school half term, it is amazing how well behaved the grandchildren can be when they know that I have the last of the Weather Weaver trilogy books. We read from it each day and I got to the end of half term with my sanity intact. This book is just as good as the first two, if not better ,well done (and thank you) Ms Mori. Another wonderful book.

What a great story! This leads on from Gathering Storm, and it might be confusing if you haven’t read the previous stories. There is more wonderful weather magic for Stella to learn, but she is also making her own decisions – rightly or wrongly.

This story mixes in some norse folklore to name things like the Kraken, and involves Stella’s parents in their oceanographic research, leading to a dangerous situation for all. It’s fast-moving, but takes time to smell the flowers on the way. I loved this story, and while it completes the plot laid down in the first book, I hope there will be more to come in this world, perhaps featuring the other weather weavers and cloud keepers.

(PS, I hope the librarians change the cover to the right book soon)

I didn't realise at first that this was actually the 3rd in a series, and i'm always worried that i wont be able to give a fair review if i'm starting with a book that's several into a series, because obviously i dont know the background or characters. But I decided to give it a go anyway.
Boy am I glad I did! What a fantastic book! I was less than halfway through before i ordered the first 2 books in the series, so i can find out what happened before this one.
It helped that there was enough of a callback to previous books that i wasn't totally lost, enough was explained that i could understand the magic of the world and what had happened before, without having so much explaination that i was thinking 'get on with it'.
I loved the characters, especially Nimbus and Sid, but i have to say, i had a bit of a soft spot for sea witch, Heather.
This is a great world that has been created, with some amazing ideas mixed in. so i cant wait to go back and read more.
Highly recommended, this was a fantastic book. addictive and incredibly hard to put down!

I loved the previous two books in this series, so I was eager to get my hands on Winter’s Keep. It certainly didn’t disappoint!

It was great to return to this much loved world, and cast of characters. The world building is excellent, and in each book we see a slightly wider view. I absolutely love the idea of weather weavers, and I so enjoyed seeing Stella starting to actually weave magical items.

These books have a great cast of characters, and we meet new ones with each book. I love Stella, she always tries to do what’s right, and she’s brave enough to own up to her mistakes. I enjoyed learning more about Heather (I can’t say any more without spoilers!). Sid was an excellent addition to the cast, and produced some funny moments.

The plot is great, with lots of adventure, working together with friends, and saving the day.

Overall, this was another brilliant and magical adventure in a favourite series. I cannot recommend it enough! Start with the first book and devour the whole series.

I was given a copy of this book, my opinions are my own.

Another Weather Weaver adventure is always a treat, but the last in a trilogy is a special deal. Such imagination. It will stand alone if you haven’t read the previous two, but you’re almost guaranteed to get your hands on them after tasting this. Highly recommend.

I read this without knowing that this one is a series. I got a bit confused because all the characters seems related with the previous books and i just guessed here and there what happened to them.
But nevertheless, i quite enjoyed their adventures. I can’t really say much about Stella and her friends since i did not follow their adventure from the beginning, but it has intrigued me to start the series!

"I’ll have what is mine…"

Winter’s Keep by Tamsin Mori was another great return to the world of fantasy and excellent worldbuilding. I enjoyed reading this cast of characters and incredible magic one last time (at least, I assume this is the last instalment). So, I was more than happy to dig into the pages, which didn’t disappoint (of course)!

With Velda overthrown and the Storm Laws abolished, hundreds of young Storm Weavers will be reunited with their stolen clouds. But the first cloud taken belonged to Tamar’s last apprentice – the sea witch. When Heather returns, seeking to lay the past to rest, the first person she turns to is Stella. But how far can you trust a sea witch? Is she seeking redemption or plotting her final revenge? With the Teran rising from the deep and the island in his icy grip, Stella and her friends must fight to save the weather as we know it.

The very core idea of weather weavers, I think, is brilliant for readers of the young demographic. With that said, at the main neural centre of the book, this story is about working with friends together to save the day. It’ll bring some light and inspiration to young readers.
