I don't know why but I felt like it was too fast.

Vitale (I don't like his name BTW) started on revenge-mode, little did he know that what he did had been done before to Zara (but way worse of course). He was being mean because his dearest older sister died and he blamed Zara's father (Monty). Vitale's plan was to seduce Zara and let the paparazzi do the work to break Zara's engagement (her fiancé's money will save Monty, or so thinks Vitale).

During the seduction weekend Zara kept saying to Vitale how important it was to be honest... While she was omitting to mention her engagement, hypocritical much?
But Vitale was just the same, this all was started because he wanted revenge but when he learns of Zara's pregnancy his motto is "let's leave the past in the past", ah ok.

For me Vitale's transformation was too sudden and didn't see where Zara fell for him.

This was a very enjoyable read. I honestly adored Zara. She has a sweetness, a genuineness, but also a inner strength that appeals. Her parents treated her terribly, and her self-esteem as a result wasn't great. But despite that, she still stood up for herself and didn't let Vitale control her. More than anything, he became like putty in her hands because he fell in love with her for the unique, good person she was. That's always sighworthy to this reader.

I liked the descriptions and imagery in this book. I could see the characters and the settings very clearly. I also liked the dialogue. I think Ms. Graham did a great job of showing how Roccanti and Zara went from enemies to lovers. Roccanti had some serious emotional issues from a childhood filled with pain and insecurity. Not easy to overcome, but Zara provides him a place of safety, security and love and opens him up to trusting and loving others. I liked seeing how Roccanti realized how wrong he had been about Zara and how fruitless revenge can be. Except in this case, his revenge bore unexpected, bountiful fruit because he met the love of his life and started a family with her.

I read Zara's sister Bee's story first, A Deal at the Altar, and I was insatiably curious about how Zara ends up with Vitale instead of Sergios, and I have to say I liked this one just as much. The only thing I wish is that I had gotten to see the sisters interact more, although I understand why they don't, considering the tumultuous relationships with their connected family and the failure to marry Sergios (since Bee marries him instead). I hope I do see more sister interactions in Tawny's book, A Vow of Obligation.

Lynne Graham delivers on her sexy, passionate, entertaining and emotional romance yet again with this book. I recommend it.

This poor heroine. Mistreated by her POS father, unprotected by her spineless mother, used as a tool of revenge by Señor Smarm and dyslexic on top of that. Toss in a hint of TSTL and some overwhelming action from a magic but potent penis, and you get the kind of book people roll their eyes over.

It's not the trope where she is a maid; it's one of the other ones.

Enjoyable for the trope that it is. I doubt if this is a spoiler, but he grows to love her.

"Roccanti's Marriage Revenge" is the story of Zara and Vitale.

Pleasantly, not bad.

In this book, the hero hatches an intricate revenge plan to punish the heroine's father, by seducing the seemingly ditzy heroine out of her recent engagement. Things go very wrong when instead of feeling distant, he gets obsessed with the heroine..and she gets pregnant with his baby.

What I enjoyed about this book was that the hero did not wait till the very end to explain his nefarious scheme- he tells the heroine head on what his intentions were- she too informs him immediately when she realizes that they're having a kid. Both have tragic pasts- but they get over their issues to make a good marriage and preparing for their baby.

Good one time read.

A solid 3.5**** read for me.I enjoyed this latest Lynne Graham offering. The hero was quite tame in compare to some of her other heros. Both H/h came from physcally abusive backgrounds ,though they did not find out this fact about each other till the story was almost over. This is the 1st of 3 books series and looking forward to the next which is about her eldest half sister and ex-fiancee.

Do I like Lynn Graham’s books? Yes I do…my favorites being the Virgin Brides, Arrogant Husbands Trilogy which I loved reading.
I was really excited when I bought her latest Roccanti’s Marriage Revenge and couldn’t wait to open the first page…and the fact that this is the first book of yet another trilogy of 3 sisters…yay!!!!

However I felt a bit letdown…..it’s like I have read this story before…just with different names and places I thought.
A billionaire who wants revenge for something that happened in his childhood so he decides to seduce the enemy’s daughter – who he believes is just another rich and useless woman. He discovers she is a virgin, she gets pregnant after one night of hot and steamy sex. He discards her. She falls in love with him ….after spending the weekend together. She is ostracized by her wicked parents and is struggling along when the hero suddenly comes back and demands that she marry him because she is pregnant with his child. They discover true love and live happily ever after.

Okay, I do love HEA …one of the reasons I am totally addicted to MILLS & BOON books but sometimes I find that very similar stories are repeated over and over again.
My thoughts after finishing the book in ONE READING…..yes it’s true!!!!!

I just couldn’t connect with the alpha hero Vitale Roccanti (and I hated his name…Vitale…somehow I found it hard to think of him as this beautiful, classy rich Italian male). His character kept changing from this really cold and cruel to kind and caring. I also found the scene where he finally discovers the truth about his sister’s death a letdown.
It’s like…okay I now know what happened…the real truth…and let’s move along….nothing more on the subject. And this was the only reason why he behaved so bad towards Zara Blake!!!!! What a fickle man I thought.

Now, Zara is the other problem I had. Here is this really lovely and soft woman, who has been abused both verbally and physically by her parents who constantly tell her that she is an idiot because of her dyslexia, who continues to go back for more. I began falling in love with her when she moved out of home and started her new life….and then what happens…..the man who has treated her so shabbily comes back and before you know it, she decides to marry him…of course she tells him that she will do a 3 month trial marriage and if it doesn’t work, she will take their baby and begin her next life without him!!!!! Girl, you need your head read!!!!!!
Though I loved Zara…she’s very very likeable….gorgeous….excited about life, fun, open and who can resist someone who has a white fluffy bunny as her pet….. who likes toys and watches MTV!!!!! I loved this rabbit!!!!

Before you begin thinking that I did not like this book…stop…I did. I love the writing style….one gets totally into the characters, you feel the sensual passion and at times I wanted to step right in and shake some sense into these two. The settings are great…London and Tuscany…..what more can we ask for????
The epilogue is great…I liked knowing that they became a really loving and happily family with children.

Don’t let me sway you from reading this book. You will enjoy it a lot.

This was a very typical HP & LG. Hero wants revenge on heroine's father who he blames for his sister's death, he seduces her & then finds out she was an innocent, guilty he keeps track of her, her family disowning her etc and then finds out she is pregnant. He offers to marry her but she isn't sure, then he starts defending her against a father who loves to use his fists as well as put her down because of her dyslexia. This plot has been done by this author before I must admit but this was an enjoyable read.

Now that I think of it, there was NO grovel whatsoever apart from bonding with MTV addict bunny.
So 2.5 stars rounded down.
Yes, he was a nice guy, yes, he was celibate. This the 2 stars.
But he was no better than heroine’s father. He almost destroyed her for someone else’s sin and turns out that someone else was a coward, yes but never committed the sin.
So the hero wrongly punished the heroine for her fathers “supposed” crime and didn’t even suffer emotionally.
Nope, no suffering because he knew heroine cared, he had a wedding night AND he get to still hide stuff from her and tell her to back off.
Do not only there was no grovelling, guy learned nothing.
***additional comments: bunny needs therapy.
She might go into MTV withdrawal at any point of time and also has irrational fear of the unfairer sex.

Maybe a 3-1/2. This was a sweet pleasant book. There was some conflict but it wasn't high tension. The hero used the heroine but knew pretty much right off the batt that he'd done wrong. The heroine wasn't a doormat. She was just a trusting naive girl who was in over her head with an attractive man. But she gave him what for when she found out that he'd set her up. The accidental pregnancy was well handled and the two of them didn't fall right into each others' arms but they were fairly rational about their situation. I liked that the hero was very protective of her. Not an deep book, sweet readable fluff.

This could have used more tension and angst as each faded considerably about 1/3 of the way in, but I still liked it.

Zara falling for Vitale and vice versa seemed credible: Zara appreciated Vitale's protective streak, strong family values, and sense of responsibility, while Vitale valued her tenderness, her more than skin-deep beauty, and intelligence. Couple these factors with an intense physical attraction and it's easy to see why they fell in love.

I liked how Zara wasn't a doormat with Vitale. She was quick to tell him off as soon as she discovered his deception. And I must mention Zara's rabbit, Fluffy. So cute!

Vitale was a likable but tame hero, and despite his unhappy childhood, a man with a surprising amount of goodness.

P.S. The title is misleading. Vitale doesn't marry Zara for revenge, but the marriage is a consequence of it.

This was just ok, sort of drab soapy read. It started out pretty good, but then fizzled.
Vitale wants revenge on Zara’s father, so he sets out to stop a future merger by ruining a possible engagement. This part was pretty juicy, but the aftermath fell off.

Bottom Line- Not bad – not great. It was short enough that I didn’t get bored, but there weren’t any real feels or angst. I liked both the mc’s… I really liked that he followed up after his lack of protection. I just needed more… maybe a wannabe OW could’ve spruced it up. 😊 It’s free to read with KU.

The heroine Zara has lived in the shadow of her controlling and abusive parents all her life, never having the confidence to stand up for herself. Her father wants her to marry an important business associate of his, and Zara thinks that a marriage of convenience will suit her. She meets the hero Vitale when he hires her company to design the garden for his Tuscan villa. Zara is surprised by the desire and attraction she feels towards Vitale, a bad experience in her youth has left her weary of men, and she begins to rethink her marriage plans. Vitale has only one thing on his mind and that is revenge against the man responsible for his beloved sister's death - Zara's father. He plans to seduce Zara and make it publicly known therefore ruining her father's business merger. However he is not expecting Zara to be innocent, in every sense, or that he would not be able to forget her. Zara is kicked out of her home and family for what happened with Vitale but tries to make the most of her new freedom even if it is a struggle. But then Vitale comes back into her life and they discover she is pregnant, and suddenly Zara once again feels trapped.

I had a difficult time trying to rate this one, I really liked it but at times it did annoy me a little bit. Overall though, I really liked it, it is certainly much more 'Lynne Graham-ish' than her last couple.
Let's get the stuff I didn't like out of the way first - Firstly, the hero! His whole plan is a little darn cruel, and it didn't sit well with me, and also at 29 years old he seemed a little too young to for his situation in life. Secondly, I do wish this hadn't been an accidental pregnancy plot, it feels a little too convenient and there is enough story to create another form of conflict that wouldn't be as clichéd. And thirdly, I am getting slightly bored of the whole 'hero thinks the heroine is some kind of tart so that is a good enough excuse for his behaviour' thing.
Now for the good stuff! The writing is flawless, very evocative, and it drew me into the story almost from the start and kept me interested throughout. I enjoyed the actual story as well, it surprised me how much I did! The chemistry between he hero and heroine is awesome, it bounces right off the pages. Lastly, the bunny who watches MTV is a nice little charming touch, and made me grin - I always like the inclusion of animals in Lynne Graham's books!

Despite some details not being great, I did really like this one. Does deserve a better title though.

Both the hero and heroine were likeable and the story was... nice. Sometimes it was a chore reading it because of too many descriptions, repetitiveness (yes, I get it, her eyes are blue his are gold, blah, blah, blah) and a lack of decent dialogue.

I am glad I borrowed it and not bought it.

EDITED TO ADD: Couple of hours later I have trouble remembering this book. What happened to LG's writing? She used to be so good at writing memorable scenes and besotted heroes.

I wish she would write like she used to, like A Savage Betrayal, Trophy Husband, The Spanish Groom and The Veranchetti Marriage. What do these books have in common? Not the story lines. But the sexual tension, possessive and jealous hero who is crazy about the heroine, memorable scenes that show us what the hero feels.

A nice read.

Vitale's plan was revenge against the man he believes killed his beloved sister. He seduces sweet Zara and plans a public display that makes the national gossip rags. Zara is hurt and betrayed by him. Still reeling from her father's abuse, rejection, and being kicked out of the family home....she moves out with her beloved rabbit, Fluffy determined to make it on her own. [As I write this review, I can't help but glance at my big gray bunny spread out in her 'Superman Flying' pose (front paws out in front with her face inbetween them and her back paws out) sleeping under the end table. Looking cute and adorable!]

Vitale can't forget their night together or her sweetness, so when the chance comes to rescue her, he takes it. First he rescues cute Fluffy then he works on Zara. Even through she is pregnant she is determined not to marry him......but he is just so appealing. Vitale finds out his plan for revenge backfired when her father was not to blame and goes about making amends. Of course they totally fall in love.

A nice well written read that comes together pretty fast but it had a good plot, likeable characters, and one adorable little bunny!

Meh. The reason I normally like these books is because of the outrageousness of the H. I'd never put up with it myself, but it's like watching a train wreck - you can't look away. This guy, on the other hand, was kind of reasonable beyond his stupid 'seduce his enemy's daughter' routine. There was lots of reflection on abusive childhoods, dyslexia, blah blah blah.... I'm not saying those aren't important issues, but I don't read this crap to be educated.

Okay going to try to keep this brief:

I don't know whether I wasn't in the mood for this book or what, but I have to say that didn't like much about it when I thought I would have especially from the premise of the book. Thought there would be more angst, more emotional intensity, more back and forth between the couple, and just something more raw and gripping, but that wasn't the case. I thought the whole him using her for his own gains would really establish the deep seated conflict between them and have that emotional rawness and vulnerability to her that made her hurt so much and vowed she would not let Vitale hurt her like he did with his betrayal. I thought would be the obstacle that he would have to overcome in trying to win her love and get that closeness that he would crave and just make this an emotional love story for them.

I have to say, I didn't feel much of the love story aspect of this book, I felt more it was outside conflicts that were presented then addressed then resolved more than their internal conflict with one another. There just wasn't a lot of romance going on and not really a lot of relationship development in my opinion. I thought there could be so much more and just show that intense emotional connection that they had with one another. But I got none of that really.

It really focused on the revenge aspect that Vitale insisted on inflicting on Zara's father by ruining her upcoming marriage to what her father believed to be an asset to his business and would help him along the way. Vitale pursued Zara by using her business to lure her to Italy where the attraction was there, but I didn't feel it as intense as I have in other books in the past. Once he had here there they he set about seducing her and making sure the paparazzi found them in an intense passionate kiss, which happened and in fact ruined her marriage to her fiancé and therein by ruining the deal between Zara's father and Zara's future husband. So Vitale's revenge worked and basically left Zara to the wolves of not only the public but her parents as well who disowned her after the debacle and inflicted more abuse on her especially her father. And especially when she found out she was pregnant then Vitale came to check on her and found out about the pregnancy and offered marriage because of the baby.

Never during the entire book did I feel like they had loving feelings towards each other or it happened too quickly. For her after she slept with him and believed she had that connection with him, she fancied herself in love with him. That didn't feel believable to me. Not at all. There wasn't a reason for her to love him except he was good in bed and they shared amazing passion between the sheets, but that isn't love. She didn't even know Vitale and still vowed to love him.

While in Vitale case, I didn't feel that at all from him. Loving feeling that is. I felt that he felt responsible for the mess that Zara ended up in because it was in fact his doing in the first place so he offered up marriage out of duty. Then the only other feeling that I associated with him and Zara was lust not love. Yes, he wanted her and wanted no one else, but in my view he just yearned for her body and nothing more, and he would have her now that he offered marriage. Again it was lust not love. I never felt like he was in love with her so when he made his confession at the end it was a little disingenuous. It was like really? Since when? Okay, he took her to his family home that she liked because that was her connection to her aunt, but I felt that was more to ease his guilt over the situation then anything else. Again I nowhere felt in the entire book he was in love with her. In lust, yes, but not love.

Chemistry didn't really feel real either. I mean it was stated that there was an attraction between them and neither ever felt this before and they just wanted each other so bad. But I didn't feel the anticipation, the tension, the angst, the denial or anything that makes chemistry in book feel so much powerful and real, at least in my mind, and just makes me as the reader dying for them to get together. Because I wasn't. I needed more build up there, instead I felt they jumped into the sack way too soon. Their attraction needed more time to simmer before I felt what they had was real, emotional, and passionate. Because it just wasn't there. They just gave in, no big deal. Now from his view, I sort of get it because he just wanted to exact his revenge by ruining her wedding by sleeping with her and the fact that he wanted her was a bonus. There needed something to up the ante therefore making it believable and increasing the steaminess. Because I didn't think the love scenes were that hot or steamy because they gave into each other way soon. There was no denial of their need there to increase the anticipation. It was like boom they met and next thing you know they were in bed together. And she definitely didn't protest too much, a token one, but not much. She made it way too easy for him especially considering her background and what happened to her formerly for her to give in just like that just didn't make a lot of sense to me. And then she fashioned herself in love with him made me roll my eyes.

I wasn't fond of the characters, if you couldn't tell, either. They just fell flat for me. She just rubbed me the wrong way, and I didn't find Vitale sexy in the least. He got away with way too much, and she was way too forgiving. Even though they both had been through horrible things in their past and needed a little tenderness out of life, I didn't feel for them. Either one. Wasn't rooting for them. Didn't enjoy them. Didn't like them. That's kind of hard to root for their love story when I didn't either of the main characters.

Again the conflict felt very surface to me, and was almost too easily dealt with. It didn't ripped my guts out at any point or touch me on an emotional level. I didn't feel the anticipation or the angst which is what I require from romance to truly enjoy and love it, but I felt nothing. In fact I was bored by it, and was slowly falling asleep through part of it because I wasn't emotional attached to the book. I even had to skim a majority of the book just to get through it. I just didn't like it.

Another thing I didn't like about it was how a lot of it was telling instead showing. There were sections of summary to show that time had in fact passed, which is all well in good to get to the point, but I needed more showing to see how their relationship was developing and growing, and it did develop over time, but I needed more of that.

I hated the back and forth between the points of view that alternated sometimes every couple of paragraphs. Found that really annoying and hated the jumping back and forth in such a short period of time. Now if it was a few pages and it alternated points of view okay but not every two paragraphs, it was disconcerting.

I think this book had so much potential and could have done so much more emotionally I think and show that rawness and vulnerability that each character had. I wanted to feel that welling hurt that each of them had where I was right there with them. I needed that emotional journey to be shown and it just didn't happen. I think it was just a jumble of conflicts together with them being outside forces instead of internal ones and those presented then dealt with. There was less focus on the couple then other people in their life. I should've felt gutted during this book but instead I was falling asleep and rolling my eyes with the unbelievably of what was going on. There was no heart beat for me.

Love scenes really didn't do it for me either. I mean the passion was kind of there but it was as gripping as other books I have read in the past of the Harlequin Presents series. I didn't feel anything while reading them. Nothing. No excitement or emotional or passion or thrill or anything of that variety. I was really disappointed in them. Like I said they happened way too quickly in the story and they were over just as quick. There needed to be more there that would have added to the juiciness of the book as did the emotional intensity needed to be amped to keep me more interesting in the story. More angst, which could have plenty with the set up instead it just felt dead to me.

It seems of late I either really love Lynne Graham's books or I don't, and there's not much in between. I just feel that I need to feel more emotional intensity come off the page as well as anticipation and sexual tension for me to be invested in the story. I needed be shown more not told, and I feel that some of the Lynne Graham books that I don't like do exactly that. I know this is a fantasy but it lacks believable. If I don't believe the characters are falling in love or they feel in love too quickly where it doesn't makes sense, then I am not going like it. That's just a fact. I need to be gutted right along with the characters and when I'm not then I feel I am on an unsatisfying romantic ride. I want that emotional feeling going in where I go on that journey with the characters but when I don't feel it then I don't believe it. Plus I have to like the characters where I root for them that certainly helps as well. But this book definitely missed the mark for me, and there definitely was no spark for me as well.

Lynne Graham has created fabulous books in the past just sometimes she misses the mark with me like this one. Lynne knows how to create emotional rides and steamy love scenes as well as likeable characters and she knows how to gut me at times, but again this one wasn't it. I will still read her books, but just some of them are not my cup tea or just don't do it for me like this one.

I was very disappointed by this book and was expecting so much more from the premise than I got. The emotional ante could have been upped so much more than was. Hopefully Lynne's next book I read will be better than this one.

Kind of a mild read. Nice start to the story! The h Zara is commissioned by someone to design their gardens in Italy. Zara currently runs her late aunt’s horticulture/ landscape design business.

The big client is Vitale who knows Zara and is out to avenge his sister’s death. Apparently Zara’s father (who is abusive and Zara has a strained relationship with him) had an affair with Vitale’s sister who then died and Zara’s father got away scot free!

Vitale is attracted to Zara and eventually the similar trope takes place. Knocked up Zara has to marry a Vitale. She finds out who Vitale is and why he set her up! But Vitale also realizes that he’s starting to fall for Zara and he also stands up to her abusive father.

All’s well at the end. A little slow for me. Both the h and H were sweet but also forgettable!

One word fully describes this book : lukewarm !!
No strong feelings, no grand passion, no sizzling attraction, no great reaction from h when H reveals his plan for revenge, or when she discovered she is pregnant, no reaction from H when he discovered the truth about his sister s death although it's the motive of his revenge in the first place !!
I can't believe it's a LG book , I struggled to finish it & the end gave me no pleasure -:(

i love this one, even more than Beatriz's story. Zara was very vulnerable and felt dat she talked about frivolous things which did not interest others. i feel like dat too and cud understand her inferiority complex. i also talk a lot but most of it is unimportant. I felt really bad about the way Vitale treated her ! how cud he use her like dat and leave her !? still, this was a captivating read and worth its 4 star !

I liked it.

Hero was badly abused by his stepfather who was a drug dealer. His mother was an addict and the kind of creepy crawly creature who kept the fact that he was her ex husband’s legitimate son from hero’s real family.
His sister who had stayed behind with the father after divorce came to meet him and their mother and saw the situation. She rescued the boy. Sent him to boarding. She was a model. Got trapped by heroines father and capsized in his yacht.

Hero’s only supporter and protector and person who cared for him was lost.

He wants to take revenge.

He cold bloodedly entices the heroine to landscape a garden in Tuscany but basically it is to sleep with her. Which he does.

They both fall for each other. He is so disconnected to his feelings he does not realise it. He can’t forget her.

Goes in search of her. Finds she’s pregnant. Which he was worried about anyway.
He takes care of her bunny rabbit. Persuades her to marry him.

They deal with each other’s parents. Hers are terrible too.

Why do they never have nice parents anymore in HP romances?

I definitely liked it. Liked that they connected so well together and he wants to spend time with her.

It’s a good one according to my taste. But I see that people have given it 3 and 4 stars.

Really weird. No accounting for tastes.

Books where the hero is treated as an adversary to be tamed are preferred.

So that’s my review.

Not bad this one but not too good either. Hero seduces heroine for revenge against her father. He doesn't know she's sweet, innocent, blameless and also a victim of her abusive father herself. When pictures of their thirst are sent to newspaper she's sent away from home and must take care of herself. Hero feels guilty and has her checked to see if she's fine. It turns out she's also pregnant. When he discovers he was a victim he wants to protect her and marry her. Not so bad a hero, but dumb anyway. How can't you tell if a girl is a gold-digger and evil or if she's innocent? Stupid man for me is unattractive.

Vitale Roccanti's plan was simple—sleep with the daughter to get to the father. What could go wrong? But staring at the black-and-white headline that announces the success of his plan doesn't feel half as satisfying as Zara did beneath his touch.

Zara Blake is shattered by the public exposé of the night she risked everything—and lost. She betrayed her father, and his plans for her marriage, for one chance at passion. But that's nothing compared to the headline that will come in nine months' time

This wasn't too bad a story. I know that some more recent Lynne Graham books haven't been that great but I enjoyed this one. It's been awhile since I've read one of her books. I don't think it was as good as some of her old ones but still an enjoyable story.

I Loved this book.

Sweet and cute. Loved Zara and Vitale. This is my favorite book of the series. Both Zara and Vitale had a tough childhood. I liked the way they comforted each other.

I also loved Fluffy and her MTV addiction... lol

This is a solid LG book. It was enjoyable. There was a little bit of angst, but I would not call it an angsty read for us angst junkies. LG is one of my go to’s, and is usually a comfort read. She did not disappoint me with this, but I wasn’t bowled over by anything either. Stmargarets gives a great review here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

There are actually quite a reviews on this one, so I will do a brief checklist. (It looks like I read the 2nd book in this series A Deal at the Altar a couple of years ago and gave it a 4, tempted to read again, but also ready to read a new story. )

*Virgin heroine-yes
*Age gap-not really only 7 years 22/29
*Anti marriage- yes to hero and heroine, but of course the hero is more of a commitment phobe
*Childhood- dysfunctional for both, including physical
*Misplaced revenge- why of course
*One night pregnancy-Helloooo? This is Lynne Graham(no twins though)
*Epilogue-3 years in the future
*Love-Attraction➡️to hate➡️Pregnancy➡️attraction➡️sweet love that feels solid by the end
*Angst level-low to mid
*Pets- fluffy the bunny who likes mtv although was music still being played in 2012?
