Tammy, you knocked it out of the park! Need more exclamation marks… out of the park!!!!
Fate Succumbs is an engrossing, fast-paced, cleverly tied-up finale to a wonderful trilogy. In fact, it’s my favorite book of the three. After receiving the book as an e-arc, I thought I’d take a wee nose at it before I started work for the day. Well… that wee nose turned into me devouring the entire book in hours. As we catch up with Scout and Liam after his rescue of her in book two, we journey into a road-trip with a destination like no other - Scout’s life-altering fight for a new order among the shifters and seers. Without giving anything away, I’ll say as always Scout’s hilarious wit had me laughing out loud. As funny as the narrative is, I also found my eyes blurring with tears a number of times. Tammy Blackwell has a gift for writing credible, funny, poignant and truly authentic dialogue. With amazing dialogue on top of an intelligent and action-packed plot, sizzling chemistry between our awesome heroine and a certain shifter, and the promise of a spin-off series (yay!), Fate Succumbs delivers a finale that more than lives up to its brilliant predecessors.

OH MY GOD!!! Its finally over and I am absolutely miserable. I was hooked to Scout’s story from the 1st page of the 1st book and Ms. Blackwell doesn’t disappoint in the finale. I tried to put off reading this book for as long as I could but then I finally caved. Even then I tried to make it last by reading it as slowly as was possible but then that was never going to work, not with the way the narrative progresses. You can’t help but get sucked in; I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. This series started and ended far too soon. If ever I wanted a series to go on, it was this..

In Fate Succumbs, Scout is on the run from the Alpha Pack with Liam and trying to survive. She’s alone and she doesn’t have anyone else she can turn to or trust. She’s trying to come to terms with the events that took place at the end of Time Mends. This book moves slowly (more slowly than most finale books), through most of the beginning; she spends her time travelling from one place to another, meeting some new people and making new friends. When she and Liam finally decide to settle down for a little while, they spend the time training and catching her up on the world of shifters and seers. While the narrative is slow, it is in no way dull. Ms. Blackwell keeps things moving at steady pace and keeps us hooked with really sharp writing (and some funny pop culture references)

I love Scout. After the end of the last book, she could’ve easily turned into a blubbering, self-pitying mess but she didn’t. Her sarcasm, wit and irreverence were so refreshing amongst all that gloom and doom. She was awesome, a real Bad Ass!! Then there’s Liam, he features way more prominently in this book than he did in the previous ones. He and Alex are very different people. Alex was more easy-going, relaxed and had a more sunny disposition, Liam is anything but that: he’s used to caring for his little brother and is more the silent, brooding and stern type. And being stuck with each other (Scout and Liam) doesn’t always bring out the best in either of them. But, this time, we got a look at a very different Liam and I really liked him.. Now I have a confession to make, I sort of preferred him from the very beginning. Yes, Alex was very likable but somehow Liam always held my interest so I was very happy to see more of him. Alex and Nicole still appear in Scout’s and we find out what the ‘dream-but-not-a-dream’ thing is really about. Jase, Talley and the rest also feature but appear pretty late in story.

I will probably read Destiny Binds again in the near future, this book just blew me away and I can’t wait to revisit this world again!! This is one my favourite werewolf series (the other being Raised By Wolves trilogy, another great series) it was a great end to a great series, Thank you Ms. Blackwell!!!

This book literally had me laughing out loud at every moment and crying at the moments that counted. The story continues on exactly where Time Mends ended, throwing Scout right into her destiny, with her grey wolf by her side. That grey wolf being Liam, Alex's older brother, and Mr Don't-Mess-With-Me-Or-I-Will-Grab-You-By-The-Throat-ALPHA...or just plan RAWR to me!! Don't get me wrong, I love Alex, but Liam is just what the doctor ordered...fill my script, I need to be medicated *wink wink*

The story was faced paced, action packed, adventurous, funny, tender, full of punch and just enough RAWR RAWR moments to keep me satisfied. I really can't believe this series is over. I could read it forever, and I will miss these characters so very much. Especially Scout. She really is such a breath of fresh air, when it comes to female protagonists. She has a quick wit, is totally sarcastic and is funny without making an effort. She is a total bad ass, who doesn't take any crap from anyone, but who dishes it out, and backs it up, without breaking a sweat. A total riot!

So, for those of you who have not read this series, I guarantee you that you will fall in love and laugh hysterically, and not be disappointed. Yes, you will cry, but hey, who wouldn't. I just wish there was going to be more written about Scout and Liam, and Jase and Tally, and of course Charlie. Oh, how I will miss you. But the brilliant thing is, I can re-visit you whenever I feel like, and read you all over again. The Timber Wolves Series would have to be, hands down, my favourite shifter series by far. Love LOVE Love!!

AHHH!!! Cannot believe this series has ended.
The final book in this series is UHMAZING!!
I am loving TAMMY BLACKWELL and will definitely read anything she writes!!
This is definitely a series I recommend. Scout Donovan has become one of my favorite characters. She is so sarcastic and fun and I just love her!
I was fortunate enough to receive an advanced copy of this book (It releases next week) THANK YOU TAMMY and I literally could not put it down.
Let me just say that I loved the direction this series took and was thrilled with the ending.
I have to say I was a bit mad at Tammy after Book 1 (if you've read you know why...and if you haven't I cannot give it away)
I kept thinking and waiting for things to go the way I thought they needed to in Book 2, but am so glad
she surprised me. I loved each and every book more and I have to say
Fate Succumbs was probably my fav of them all. I found myself highlighting like
crazy all the little quotes that I just loved. I'll post one below and save the others
for after release :)

I can't give away any details, but I just love the way things develop and wrap up.
Brilliant!
LOVE LOVE LOVE

This series is currently self-published, but I can GUARANTEE these books will
be picked up! Tammy Blackwell is definitely an Author you should check out!

Not good story telling. Not good development of the plot.

Some things annoyed me. For example, someone dies and then visits Scout in her dreams. More than once Scout asks a question about life after death and the visitor says if he reveals too much his ability to visit Scout will be revoked. Similarly when Scout asks a question of Joshua, he says it isn’t for you to know. The result: mystery or questions that don’t get answered.

Example of weak development. Scout is wearing a wig as a disguise. She takes it off for a moment and a lady sees her. Liam solves the problem by kissing Scout so the lady would not be suspicious. I did not get that.

The main story is about Liam and Scout on the run and training and preparing to fight those in power. When Scout later fights the main person. It’s told, not shown. It was something like Scout attacks then it was over. Disappointing.

I loved the first book in the series. The author had a lot of witty comments. It was a fresh voice. It was really interesting. But sadly books 2 and 3 did not have any of that. On hindsight I wish I had not bought them.

DATA:
Narrative mode: 1st person. Kindle count length: 4,186 (397 KB) 296 pages. Swearing language: moderate to strong including religious swear words, but rarely used. Sexual content: none. Setting: current day various locations in the U.S. and Canada. Copyright: 2012. Genre: young adult paranormal romance.

Ugh, I hate to give this book three stars because everyone else rated it so highly but I'm not sure I could justify four stars. I liked this book and I like Tammy's writing. I will continue to read her books as I think she's a great storyteller. What caught me in this book is that things just happened kind of quickly and I was often left with the feeling, "Uh, did I miss something?!" I felt this way with the Liam situation, the Alpha fight, etc. I wanted more details/description/depth and instead, it was just brushed over. I'm also not totally sold on the end. Yes, everything comes together but not fully and I guess I was hoping for a little more. As others have said though, it is nice that there's the possibility of spin-offs with other characters that will be great. Everything else about the story was there... action, movement, interest, and so on.

Reading is like a road trip. On some, the journey is boring but the end destination makes it worth it. Others start out fun and exciting but by the tenth game of I Spy/20 Questions you’re willing to hitchhike just to get away from your co-passengers. And then there are the ones you want to do over and over and over again. This book is the kind I want to read over and over again.

I love Tammy Blackwall for a crap ton of reasons – for giving me Scout and Jase and Charlie and Alex and Liam; for letting me escape for a few hours a day; for making me laugh till I snort, smile till my cheeks hurt and try to stop crying before I even start – but most of all, I love her forethought. The Timber Wolves Trilogy was made to be a trilogy – it isn’t 3 episodes of the same series; it isn’t one story stretched over 3 deadlines; it is one journey.

And at first, Fate Succumbs felt like it belonged in a whole new series. From Destiny Binds to Fate Succumbs, the series went from Mean Girls (high school drama) to Twilight (angsty teenage drama involving werewolves) to Legend/The Fifth Wave/The Road (survivalist road trip). Which was cool. But then Blackwell started connecting the pieces, answering questions from the first book and explaining puzzles from the second. This quote, which sounded totally cheesy when Alex said it in Destiny Binds, came to mean so so much for so many different reasons in Time Mends and Fate Succumbs. Gah, if only I'd known, I wouldn't have thought it cheesy!:

I said that you were my destiny, not that I’m yours.

Scout Scout went from the goofy, sarcastic, impossible-not-to-love bookworm/nerd with secret ninja skills to this hardened, passionate and sometimes cynical Katniss Everdeen. A reluctant fighter, a hard-won leader and the inspiration for an entire species.

The romance I love each and every one of Timber Wolves’ boys (Charlie, Jase, Alex and Liam) but I think Alex will always be my favourite. While Scout continues to love and miss and grieve him, she doesn’t close off her heart. And thus begins (or continues I guess) one of the best YA love stories I have read in the past year. Or years. It is a slow burning, frustrating, melting, heartbreaking, hair-tearing romance and it blew me away.

This book blew the top off the preceding two books. No doubt about it, this was hands-down 5-star-territory for me. Blood, battles, moral conflict, romance, betrayal, loss and heartache. This book had it all and it had in spades.

If I believed in re-reading books (which I don’t, unfortunately), this would be very near to the top of my to-reread list.

I absolutely loved this book. It is definitely my favorite out of the trilogy. I will admit that I was a little nervous about how everything would turn out after Alex's death and with but I shouldn't have feared, it was done beautifully. Scout grew into herself and her role wonderfully in this book and the ending was awesome. I couldn't have asked for a better finale. Oh and PS- Tammy thanks for the River Tam reference. Loved Firefly/Serenity so definitely laughed out loud!

Had to finish this series

I was vested in the series by the end of book one. It was a great storyline. But the ending was disappointing. I expected a more epic finale showdown. Given the plot, the ending was weak. I believe this is her first series only the third book she has published. 0.5🔥/5.

Can't believe the series is done! I read Destiny Binds ages ago and came back to this series just recently, so I feel like I've had Scout and her gang on my mind for quite some time now. I was swooning and then nursing a broken heart after Destiny Binds, I cheered on a bad-ass Scout and got wrapped up in suspense of Time Mends, and with Fate Succumbs I feel like the characters have come full-circle and moved beyond the life they once had to a completely new adventure. While I will always be heartbroken that Alex wasn't able to be a part of that life with them, I was happy with how things turned out for these awesome characters at this series came to a close!

Liam met back up with Scout at the very end of Time Mends, so I knew he was going to be a big part of this book. Given the lack of any real love story anymore in the second book, I was anxious for Scout to finally have a chance to find love again. Liam's cocky, stand-offish attitude with her made him the perfect 'bad boy', and I will admit a little part of me was thrilled at the idea he was the gray wolf that had been watching her all those months. In this book, Scout and Liam are on the run together, trying to figure out how to get her ready to challenge the alpha female. After a long trek across the states, they end up alone and in the middle of nowhere Canada. Despite her mixed feelings and his rather cold attitude, they are forced to work together to survive the cold months in Liam's tiny cabin. Training, hunting, keeping house, and otherwise living without, these two wolves end up choosing each other for a mate...even if their human sides are still pretty much clueless. It was sweet how they danced around their attraction even though they were completely alone out there. I loved how close they got and how much they truly began to care about each other, and Liam turned out to be much more than just a hot guy with a chip on his shoulder. They were a perfect team, and when they had to return back to their normal lives to ready for the big show-down, I was so nervous that they'd fall back into their old routine once they were around the others. But it really seemed like they had all grown up, moving past their angsty teen days so they could face a very adult fate that awaited them.

Tammy Blackwell did a great job of evolving the characters for the finale of this series. They all became like a family, and when they had to come to the big fight I felt like I didn't want to lose any of them. They were all joining together for the cause of changing the way the shifters and Seers live. They wanted freedom and to put an end to the meaningless murder of innocents just to keep traditions alive and well with their kind. Scout became quite the bad-ass, I loved how much she grew up and truly took on the alpha persona. And while I wish we could have seen a little more happen between her and Liam as far as the connecting, the way the series ends it leaves little doubt that they'd end up with their HEA of sorts.

It was sad to say goodbye to the characters in this series, but I loved getting to take this journey with these awesome characters!! Highly recommend this series for werewolf or YA fantasy fans!

An absolutely fantastic series. Great characters, great plot, great romance and werewolves, always a plus for me.

Scout is an awesome mc. I loved her after just a few pages, and she just got better throughout the book, her character grew so much. She looks odd. She has white, white blonde hair, extremely pale skin and eyes the colour of ice chips, which gets her a lot of negative attention. But this doesn't bother her, she takes it all in her stride and gets on with it. She's snarky and sarcastic and really fun to read. She's a black belt in karate and can fight as well as any of the guys.

Jase, Scout's stepbrother, who she's known since she was about three weeks old and is really close to, is quite the intriguing character. Charlie his cousin, who Scout has been in love with for as long as she can remember, I liked, then didn't like, then pretty much liked again. Kind of how Scout's feelings went too. And then there's Tally, Scout's best friend. They're like the four musketeers, spending practically all their time together. Charlie and Jase are really overprotective of Scout. But when Alex and his brother Liam arrive in town, events are set in motion which will completely change Scout's life.

The romance in these books is excellently done. There's no love triangle, but yet it's not just your average run of the mill romance either. I have to say it worked very well for me, and while there were a few tears shed, I really liked how everything worked out in the end.

So much happens in the course of these three books and I didn't want to put them down. The type of books that when you're not reading them, you're constantly thinking about them, and when you're asleep, you're dreaming of them. I'm quite sad to have finished. Thankfully, there's another series set in this world, about Charlie, that I plan on moving onto next. And these will definitely be on my re-read list. And I need to have the hard copies for my shelf.

If you like werewolf/shifter books, and maybe even if you don't, you have to pick up this series.

The trilogy is on sale until the 1st January so you can pick it up now for $2.50. It's a steal!

Lately, I definitely have been feeling as though I am walking to a different beat. It seems that when others are enjoying a book, I'm just not really into it. That is the case with "Fate Succumbs." In all fairness, book one was a 3.5 star read for me, while book 2 was a much better read. Unfortunately, "Fate Succumbs" was a less than stellar ending to the trilogy.

First and foremost, the first 45-55% of the book left me yawning and wondering whether or not I would be able to finish the book. Then, the story line and action picked up and the read got better. What was the problem? Well, the first half of the book felt like 'filler.' Scout and Liam were traveling from place to place with no real goal or plan in mind. Then, there was all of the silly references to T.V. shows and books that took up pages and pages and were just plain fluff (i.e. Harry Potter vs. Star Wars). I found myself asking, "Where is this going?" or "Why is this even here?"

Scout and Liam have been fighting their growing attraction to one another but over time a friendship emerges and then love. Scout is grief striken over the casualties and injuries experienced by friends who have attempted to keep her safe. One minute she wants to take down the Alpha female, Sarvarna and the next she wants to run and hide. Soon, she realizes that she cannot run from fate and her calling. Family secrets are revealed and what was formerly believed as betrayals will be exposed for what they truly are. Scout will stand together with her friends to bring about the changes that are so needed in the suprenatural society.

I enjoyed the humor in the story the best, although these moments were fewer than I would have liked. As Scout and Liam rambled across the countryside, so did the story line. There was very little action and considering there was this epic battle at the end, it was rather anticlimatic for me. In short, this finale fell short of its goal. If you have read the other two books in the series, it would be a shame not to finish the story. As always, read it for yourself and decide. I for one and glad that it is over.

Holy cow. I didn’t think that this series could get any better than the first two books, but then this one blew them out of the water. There are so many amazing things that happen in this book that I could not put it down, bedtime be damned. In the span of three books, Scout went from a young girl completely ignorant to the world around her to a serious kick ass heroine. She was still unsure about things, but for the most part she took charge and stood her ground.

I loved the development of Liam. I had wished early on that we would see more of him so I was extremely excited to get to know him and to see his growth as well. I really enjoyed every roller coaster second of this book. There was never a moment where I wasn’t wondering what was going to happen next. When I laughed I knew I could cry any second and when I cried, I knew a laugh was probably just around the corner. I don’t think I will stop thinking about these books for a long, long time. And I am truly looking forward to the Shifers and Seers series. Not only will we get to continue on in this world, but it will also allow us to see how Scout continues on in her new world from someone else’s point of view.

One of my favorite exchanges in this book was this one between Talley and Scout.

"And let's not leave out the whole 'Scout is a love whore' issue."
Talley tilted her face up. "What is a love whore exactly?"
"You know, some reckless person who goes around falling in love with every attractive guy she comes across. Charlie, Alex, Liam. I'm all 'Oh! Pretty boy!' and the next thing you know I'm ruining everyone's lives because I want to curl up inside them and liver forever."
"That is quite possibly the most bizarre and creepy description of what it feels like to fall in love I've ever heard."
"Falling in love is bizarre and creepy."

I've been impatiently waiting for the third book of the Timber Wolves Trilogy to "hit" the shelves. Yesterday I clicked on Buy with 1-click and devoured the book in basically one sitting.

The last book of a series is always hard. Saying goodbye to characters you have become invested in is bittersweet.

I'm halfway into my second reading of this book since I flew through the first reading. I'll probably come back and add more to this review but, in my opinion, this was a fitting conclusion to the trilogy.

I'm still reeling over the fact this series is actually over, and giddy with the thought of a brand new series coming in 2013, set within the same world. Tammy Blackwell you're my American Idol! Now on to serious thoughts. I was more than happy with the outcome of what quickly became my favorite of the Timber Wolves trilogy. Liam was the most compelling of all male hottie characters in book one for me, and more than lived up to my expectations in three. Scout became exactly who she needed to be. I continued to fall in love with these characters because they have the unique literary quality of breathing beyond the pages. I wouldn't be surprised if I ran into them on the street, or the Canadian wilderness... (yes please ;)
More light was shed on the world of Shifters that I had suspected yet was so giddy and happy to learn the truth. The thing I loved most about this series is that Blackwell allows her characters to grow and drift and form new relationships. That's what makes it more realistic, with none of this "end of the world" angst many teen paranormal fics keep promoting. Scout and all the other Shifters and beings aren't perfect and they have to make choices that may not be so popular to each other or their fans. But it is the quality of their character that makes them half human.

I liked this series, but not so much as other I've read.
The story was fast paced and very mysterious, it left you guessing till the very end. The characters were very likable.

For me however it did not fulfill the romance part. The romance was bland and i did not feel like the characters really connected. Even the couple "they" (you will have to read to find you who "they"are) became at the end was bland. I felt that the all the emotions in the book lacked feeling when it came to romance.

The Whole plot was actually well played around God and The Magical beliefs. And in the end you were left to decide if you liked the Science explanation of the story or the Supernatural one, I really think that was pretty clever.

I wished the Lillith and The Wolf had had more romantic interactions. Since they are the fated couple I would think the author would give more romance to them then to Lilith and the The Wolfs Brother. That dissapointed me greatly. So if you are a romance lover like me this book is NOT for you.

The story was pretty interesting over all but i would not recommend this Series to a lot of people.

I love it.

This book was bittersweet. It was an awesome conclusion to an amazing trilogy. I wish this book went on forever. I could never get tired of these characters.

I cried. Yeah, and I'm not ashamed to say it. I just loved it so much.

This book had me laughing out loud one minute, grinning like an idiot the next. Then balling my eyes out 5 minutes later. I can honestly say this is one of my favorite trilogies. And my fave book out of the three. It helped mend my heart. It left me content.

Though I wish it would have been waaaay longer (only because I couldn't get enough) It was perfect, fast-paced, intriguing, surprising, and sweet. I love that I was so emotionally invested in this book, though it's hard not to be. The wit, sense of humor, the arguments, the action. The romance I will totally recommend this Trilogy to anyone who hasn't read it.

After finishing up the series I am surprised to say overall I like the series. I liked the main character and found myself laughing at the ridiculous comments she would make. But after the end of the first book I thought I was gonna pull my hair out after what happen to Alex. I was having one of the moments where I'm saying to myself "oh man, how am I so upset about someone who isn't real!" But man I liked Alex.
Of course in the third book I was happy at who she ended up with. I could of used a bit more of the romance gushy stuff from them but I understood the issues they had between them.
When I look back the series I appreciate the love triangle not lasting long. It's annoying how many girlies in books can't make up their minds about which guy who wants nothing more then to be with them, to pick. By the middle of the series all her relationships seemed somewhat healthy. So not much angst there, whew. Yep, over all I enjoyed this series and all it's characters. Though man it blows for Alex, but I have to say that I always had a soft spot for grumpy Liam ;)

LOVeD IT!!

This was a great conclusion to the Timber Wolves Trilogy! Sometimes shifter books are kind of creepy to me, but this one is one of the best I have read! Tammy Blackwell is an amazing author that will always be one of my favorite.

This is, of course, still told from Scout's point of view. I just love Scout. Her thoughts and the things she says just crack me up, and I was laughing throughout the book. She is one of my favorite characters ever. And her banter with the wonderful hottie known as Liam was very fun. This book involved mostly just these two, but a few new characters were also brought in, like Aunt Rachel, to help the Challenge along. The romance was sweet and not overdone, and I actually could have handled a little more.

Great, funny, and sometimes sad series that I recommend everyone read!

This is the third a final book in the series yet I feel as though it isn't. There isn't a happily ever after but an "okay ever after"

Fate Succumbs is the conclusion of the Timber Wolves Trilogy.

Scout Donovan with the help of Liam (Alex’s older brother) is now on the run from the Alpha pack. They have ordered her death and she uncovers an evil plot that has been perpetrated by the Alpha female for over 2000 years. The Alpha pack is killing off all female shifters. It is blatant genocide of the female shifters due to an ancient belief and they must be stopped.

Fate Succumbs has it all …action packed, funny, deeply emotional, lots of heart ache, and rip your gut out choices.

Love Scout’s sarcasm and witty retorts and in the end she is a total bad ass. Liam is way more complex and the development between the characters is amazing. Although, I mentioned the rip your guts out, there is plenty of laughter to compensate. 5 stars.
