TEMPTATION
CONFESSION
GRACE

This edgy, page-turning saga isn't just a trilogy, it's an enthralling reading experience, a non-stop roller coaster ride of emotion that will keep you on the edge of your seat, giving you cliffhanger after cliffhanger until the final, jaw-dropping climax.

The mystery and secrets revealed in this new Selena Kitt Classic will have you praying for forgiveness before it's all over, but in the end, will restore your faith in the triumph of the human spirit and the overwhelming power of love.

TEMPTATION

What happens when you fall in love with your best friend's father?

Leah is a good, Catholic girl, and she and Erica have been best friends since their first communion. Sure, Erica's father is handsome and charming, but Leah spends so much time at the Nolan's--just Erica and her famous, photographer father now, since Erica's mother died--that she's practically part of the family.

Both girls have led privileged, sheltered lives and are on the "good girl" track at St. Mary Magdalene's Preparatory College, Leah pursuing her love of dance and Erica sating her endless curiosity as editor of the newspaper. Neither of them could have ever imagined that one fateful discovery will not only push the boundaries of their strict, repressive upbringing, but the bonds of their friendship as well.

Leah certainly never could have imagined finding herself torn between her best friend and her best friend's father. Sure, Leah's mother had always talked about Mr. Nolan as "a catch," but Leah herself had never thought of him as anything other than just Erica's dad--until the girls discover something darkly erotic under Mr. Nolan's bed, a deep, shameful secret that will not only lead them into temptation, but will deliver them into a far greater revelation than any of them could ever have imagined.

If you read the original Under Mr. Nolan's Bed, you will find this retelling a richer experience with deeper secrets to reveal.

CONFESSION

The shocking discovery best friends Leah and Erica have made under Mr. Nolan's bed has them down the wicked path of temptation, both girls veering far from the narrow path dictated by their strict Catholic upbringing, and their sexual transgressions have had unintended consequences.

Erica finds her life turned upside down when Leah falls for Erica's father, but just as Erica is beginning to accept their love for each other, Leah disappears. Bewildered and abandoned, Erica and Mr. Nolan are faced with sadness and confusion at their loss, but while Mr. Nolan spirals into mourning, Erica is determined to find her friend.

Erica can't possibly know why Leah has vanished, but when she enlists the help of Father Michael, her search and the real reason for Leah's disappearance intersect to uncover a multitude of shocking confessions and a secret that will shake not only the foundation of their faith, but the entire institution of the Catholic Church itself.

GRACE

Childhood friends Leah and Erica have been sacrificial lambs at the altar of a scandalous corruption within the Catholic Church, violated by those who have, in their lust for power, turned the sacred profane.

The mystery of Leah's disappearance results in a long-awaited reunion, but it is tainted by both their loss of innocence and a deep, unfathomable sorrow, which only leads to more secrets.

HOLY GUACAMOLE!!!!

I give this more stars than I'm allowed to give!

This was the most amazing, exciting, shocking and FUCKED UP set of books I have EVER read.

I'm convinced Selena Kitt is some kind of Evil Genius. There is no other explanation.

I don't think I'll ever be able to top these books. It's hard to explain what they did to me.

Warning: these are not for the sensitive. If you're squeamish just don't bother.
Otherwise - Oh My God, READ THEM!!!

I keep imagining Miss Kitt with a wall size diagram with strings going from one thing to another, mapping out the plot of these.

I just can't imagine how she kept all of these ideas together so well. There are so many twists and unexpected turns. It's amazing. It's brilliance. I was in awe. I'll forever be in awe of these books.

Everything is thought out and researched well. She writes in a different time period. UGH I love it.

Wow. The 1st book is a smutfest of epic proportions. The 2nd book is a mindfuckingly disgusting tale and the 3rd book wraps it all up nicely with a bow and HEA. Weird but I couldn't put it down.

SPOILERS AHEAD

So where do I begin.... I first heard of Temptation (Book 1) a few months back. I read the synopsis and wasn't sure it was the book for me so I passed on it. Then the other day I see the trilogy onsale on Bookbub, so i decide to come to Goodreads to get scoop on the book. I have to admit that I was turned off yet odd lt intrigued when I read the reviews of those who have read Temptation in its original format that apparently had incest in it. Hearing the this version was revamped I decided to check it out. And I'm glad I did. I couldn't put the book down and read the trilogy in two days. Now, lets take this review book by book.

Book 1: Temptation
I really liked. At first I didn't think I would care for a story that was set in the 1950s but that element adds more angst to the story. Temptation is basically a forbidden love story as Leah falls in love with her best friend's dad. The book is highly sexual but not smutty. I will say that I do not like books that end on a cliffhanger but thankfully I had the other books and could dive right into the next one.

Book 2: Confession
This book is told from the POV of Erica and Leah. This book is the one that made me the most uncomfortable. the whole thing with the Mary Magdelenes was just...I don't even know how to describe it but it left with a terrible taste in my mouth. I am not a fan of seeing harm come to my heroes and heroines and I didn't like Erica being raped and her ordeal with the Mary Magdalenes. What I will say about Erica is that she seemed very strong and bounced back from these situations oddly normal. What I didn't like was Leah being kept away from Rob and Erica for damn near the whole book. I understand why it had to happen but I was still not pleased. The whole situation with "The Ghoul" and the baby snatching was upsetting.

Book 3: Grace
So we find everyone reunited in this book, everyone except the kidnapped baby Grace. What I liked about this book: I liked Erica and Father Michael's love. On the one hand I wanted them to be together, but on the other hand I was happy to see that he was not corrupted by his love of Erica, he remained true to his calling. I was happy to see that everything Erica had been put through, that she gets her HEA with Clay. Erica even gets a miracle since she can now get pregnant and have kids. I liked that Rob and Leah's love grew and that they too got their HEA even though their relationship is unconventional and I would reckon highly controversial for the 1950s.

What I don't like about Book 3: The courtroom drama. That was just too much. No way would that really happen in court. I also hated how everything went down with Father Patrick and the Mary Magdelenes. I am glad that the Mary Magdalenes were undone but to have all of the work that Rob was doing to bring down the Church just be destroyed and Father Patrick be sent away for rehabilitation was just a let down. I know that the Church couldn't really be brought down but I just expected more fallout.

Overall I liked the trilogy, surprisingly. I would definitely recommend but of course caution readers to the disturbing themes.

I started these with a little trepidation knowing Selenas edgy content matter and book 1 Under Mr Nolans Bed, had sex scenes a plenty and some content matter than some people may find controversial, but as you enter into book 2 Confessions the story develops into a sad tale of a catholic Unmarried girl in the 1950s, and if you think the Catholic Church can do no wrong, then this is not the book for you. It is completed with the final book Grace and the continuing story of Leah, Mr Nolan, Erica and the search for baby Grace.
I loved the passion and love that Leah and Mr Nolan had you feel it all the way through, it's get a bit complicated at times with who's parents who, but definitely worth a read.

Just a little too much

I am giving this boxed set a 2.92 rating. This is the average of the ratings I gave each part separately.

I really liked Under Mr. Nolan's Bed: Temptation. I have it a 4 star rating. It was a well written story. It was sexual and elicited emotions in me. I didn't get to know the characters in depth, but it was good enough storytelling that it didn't matter. The story seemed like it moved at a slow pace, but it was a build up to the relationships between the people. I liked how it ended. It was a great cliffhanger that made you want to read the next book.

After reading Under Mr. Nolan's Bed: Confession I felt the author could have stopped with the first book. It seemed this wasn't the same story as the first part. It didn't connect to me. It told the story of 2 friends that grew up in different aspects of the church. They had experiences that had them look at the life they have been living, the world they live in, and the church with new sets of eyes. They realized they have been lied to. They also have been repeating the lives of their mothers, all of their mistakes. I didn't like how this one was written. It was a back and forth storytelling between the 2 girls. It was still somewhat interesting to where you wanted to read it, but not enough to want to read the third installment. I have this one a 2.75 star rating.

About the time I was reading Under Mr. Nolan's Bed: Grace, I was not interested in finding out how this story ends. I gave this story a 2 star rating. This story became too far fetched. At one point everybody was kin to everybody. I was thinking after a while I was kin to these people. I ain't even white or Catholic but I could be in the family tree. I didn't even care if these characters found what they was looking for. People were falling in love too soon and everybody was sleeping around. It didn't make sense to me.

I had high expectations for this book since I heard the original story was so taboo. I was excited to read this. It was a disappointment. I do have another version of this book. I hope it was better than this one. I wouldn't recommend this boxed set as a whole. I would recommend just the first book.

Sinful

Wow what can I say, first of all this trilogy had me in an emotional state through it all. I couldn't put it down. As a Catholic girl from suburbs of Detroit all the references of the area, stores, etc brought it to life for me (only this would have been my parents time period) ;-) This story holds true to a lot of
unwed mothers in that time, not the secret society, but adoption, etc... I am
still at a loss of words, speechless needless to say. I would recommend this to anyone that likes a storyline with little taboo, sinful sex, suspense, and HEA. Only one minor thing, I would have your proofreaders check carefully for spelling errors, there were quite a few.

I felt like I was right there with each character in the books. Selena broached different sexual tastes, yet did not make the characters seem cheap or stupid. I was engrossed in each book and hated to see the ending come. I love to read Selena Kitts books.

A Awesome Read!!!

I loved reading Nolan Trilogy: Boxed Set(Temptation, Confession, Grace). All about Erica Nolan a nineteen year old catholic college girl who lives home & Rob Nolan her father a well known photographer who is thirty-nine years old & Leah Weldt, Erica’s BFF and constant house guest at the Nolan’s. The author wrote wrote about two young catholic girls who have only ever been educated by the Catholic Church, from grade school all the way thru two years of college. Book 1 called Temptation is about the girls first year of college in a catholic dominated life. Read about Erica & Leah’s first loves and the awakening of their passion and the consequences of life. Book 2 called Confession is about the summer before their last year at Mary Magdalena’s college & the upcoming school year. Leah has gone missing & Erica and her dad have no idea where! Her mom(Patty) refuses to divulge The whereabouts of her daughter, but let’s out that Father Michael at the church knows where she is. Erica confronts Father Michael but gets nowhere, because he’s swore to uphold his confession chats and take it to the grave. Read about Erica and the depraved secrecy she uncovers at the church. Read about Leah and the consequences she has endured! Book 3 called Grace is about finding Leah in a hospital after her baby Grace was stolen from her! It’s about Erica finding out she’s adopted, and she’s Leah’s twin sister! Read this trilogy, because it’s about a group of people who are all related, but have no idea, until a single action starts the huge ball of yarn to unravel! It’s full of details, love, romance, respect, lying, traditions of the Catholic Church, pleasure, pain, heartache, suspense & intrigue! All the things that make a good trilogy come to life! It’s not a quick read, as you need to digest the info as you go along, but the last book ties all the loose ends together! The author writes incredible descriptive scenes, that will leave you angry, very emotional and very sensuous through out the entire series! Give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed!!

I had seen so many cryptic reviews regarding this book, that once I realised it was a trilogy on kindle unlimited, I brought it.

And it was a total mind trip!!!

This will trigger some readers, as events can be quite graphic, disturbing and depraved.

Temptation:
Set in the 1950's, friends Erica and Leah's life experience is based largely around a Catholic upbringing.

One particular day while hanging out at the Nolan's, Erica shows Leah something she discovered under her father's bed.
This discovery triggers Leah's sexual awakening, eventually leading to an event between Leah and Mr Nolan (Rob) that begins a great love affair.
Yet this taboo relationship has many obstacles to overcome before all three can find any resemblance of peace.

Confession:
Blindsided by events orchestrated in the past, Erica and Leah, while on individual journeys, find their lifes yet again upended by individuals within or associated with the Catholic Church.

Grace:
Reunited with Erica and Rob, Leah and the Nolan's try to overcome past traumas while embracing new realities.

Wow,

Admittedly, I went into it not really knowing anything other than Mr Nolan must have some pretty naughty objects under his bed.
And once it was revealed, I was amazed and yet pleasantly shocked.

The age-gap, sex scenes were extremely steamy and so well written that it didn't feel predatory.
Rob and Leah's relationship appeared genuine and acceptable.

The events surrounding the Catholic Church, not so much.

It was disturbing how graphic the events were and just how believable they appear.
With conspiracies revealed and broadcasted into our realities, its not as far fetch to believe this could be an actual occurrence.

An annoyance with this book:
after all the years of investigation into the Catholic Church, the punishment was not as severe as his crimes deserved.

I am thankful that I found this trilogy.
It was unique, brilliantly written and totally unexpected, but absolutely worth all the hype.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

The story was interesting. A multi part story, told from multiple viewpoints, with a lot of scandalous plot twists. The hypocrisy & abuse of power within the Catholic Church was a major theme. This is Selena Kitt, so there are, of course, older man/younger woman couplings, some kinky religious stuff, a touch of bondage, some non-hetero sex acts (although it is mostly hetero), and incest. There were also several contemporary references to bring the reader in to the 50s setting, without it hitting you over the head.

The plot was interesting, although the last book did slog along a bit (not uncommon for series endings though). I kept going because I wanted to know what would happen with the love interests, but also with the church scandal. Unfortunately, the scandal didn't wrap up in a satisfying way, & there were some plot holes in the conclusion that didn't match up with earlier details. But the romances were generally served well. And I loved Erica's confidence & sexual agency, especially when she teaches her partner(s) about sex and about what she likes.

There was a lack of thorough copyediting, which is fairly common in a lot of this kind of erotica (such as malaprops & use of an unrelated but similarly spelled word), but it was only enough to be distracting in a couple spots. Also I suspect the author hasn't lived in the States, because there are definitely some turns of phrase that stuck out to me as odd. I don't believe they were ever used in the USA, even 60 years ago (one example: dodgem cars, ie bumper cars).

𝟔+++ 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐬𝐬!!!!!

Tell me that one series that you read you want to make it into a TV Show??
For me... its def this one!! OMGGG!!! What the h*** did I read just now? This trilogy... I have no words to explain except that my mind is in spirals aft reading this.. connecting the dots and secrets revealed. Honestly this is such a great book that need recognition. This book makes you assume some things.. bt what you assumed are not at all true!! while reading this I was intrigued from page one to the last book in this series. Seriously, this book had me on pins and needles, making my toes curl and mouth open agape.
Have you watched the German series 'Dark'? well, that's the only way I can describe these books. If you haven't watched the series, please do But be prepared for your mind to be confused, blown up and fucked with the twists and turns it takes and the secrets reveled!
These books are set in the 19's where there are catholic churches, nuns and catholic schools.. I loved how the author has described the churches the old architecture I could just visualize it while reading. Who wants their minds fucked up? The whole body of the church plays a HUGE DAMNN ROLE in this book, If I say what.. the suspense will be spoiled *coughs* please do read this one.
I honestly enjoyed this series, its been a lonnnng time that I've been hit by a book this hard and I'm honestly really super glad that I gave this series a chance because I HAVE NO FRIGGIN WORDS for this book!!!! I'll def check out this author's other books.

Wow, this is mind blowing. I have read the first part of this story a long time ago and never finish the entire story until now.
I loved listening to this story in its entirety. It’s filled with lots of emotions, secrets, strength and courage. Most of all throughout this of Mr. Nolan you will find that love is expressed in many forms. I love how the author portrays its strength and power. I also, love the forbidden and taboo nature of this story too. I must say that I love how the girls supported Leah when she needed them. I also, really admire Leah and Ericka for their growths, honesty, love, curiosity and willingness to solving the mystery and supporting each other. Above all I love the cryptic message behind this story and in the face of darkness their is always light.

Under Mr. Nolan's Bed/ Temptation Review: Under Mr. Nolan's Bed Revised Version Review: In my opinion this is one creepy book. In my opinion this is like a book version of a porn movie. Most of it made me laugh. All the characters Erica, Rob and Leah have no control. It was just too over the top for me.

Under Mr. Nolan's Bed Original Version Review: I liked this one better than the revised addition. I didn't find this one as creepy as the revised addition. I liked that it took place in 1950's. Some of things I had figured out from the start and some things were predictable.

Confession Review: I liked this one a little better than the first book Under Mr. Nolan's Bed. Confession takes you on a journey of mystery, moral and religion. I know this is fiction but I could see these things going on now. Yes things are creepy. I didn't find this one sexy. I personally liked the mystery part.

Grace Review: If you are a Selena Kitt fan this is not her usual writing. I liked this story and all loose ends get tied up. There is not the typical erotic from Selena Kitt. I had a lot of the stuff figured out pretty early. The there is a lot of drama. In my opinion Grace is the best of Under Mr. Nolan's Bed Series. I no this is fiction but I could see this stuff going on today. I don't have a lot of faith in the Catholic Church to begin with.

Overall I would not recommend. The story has potential, but things are just to twisted for my taste. I was entertained but it's very slow moving.

Wow

I have so many mixed feelings about this trilogy. At first timelines were hard to follow at first. Once I was able to figure out the timeframe this trilogy became a love hate. At moments I hated the author and then it was absolute love for the author. There is a severe trigger for myself that thankfully I could tell was coming so I was able to completely skip that part. This is an extremely taboo read (I mean a lot of wtf moments but thankfully they pay out in the end)!! It's actually really well written and although it was touch and go there for my feelings about it I find that I actually enjoyed this.

This book includes a number of sociopolitical issues for that time. I appreciate the themes that were brought up. I liked the may-december couple. Maybe the story could have been edited down a little. It's definitely a book that you won't forget the next day and you'll think about the topics brought up.
There is a secret group/story line that seems outrageous but as someone raised in Canada where residential school have become part of the mainstream discussion and knowing people who's family were in residential school I can say that the story line isn't that far fetched.

Oh my word this book

While I was reading this book, I described it to a friend like this "UGH!!!!!! This book is the grab your heart, rip it out of your chest, put it on a shelf, and forget about it for a while, then come back and say, oh yeah, I forgot to give that back. Here's half of it. You'll get the rest back later. ----this is that book! Lord help me when I'm done with this!" And when I finished it, I can say I have my whole heart back and a book hangover. It's that good.

So I’ve read this set and I read the revised version of Under Mr Nolan’s bed. The revised version really took me for a loop because I had to face a few triggers. That book was nothing like this trilogy because it was set in 1950s. The first book was taboo enough but then the next two were a mindfuck of the first order. I did NOT see all of that coming! If you are up for taboo and a fucked up Catholic Church scandal…check it out. Fair warning…trigger warnings should be heeded

What a weird collection of books. The first one is a fun, sexy, soap opera of a romp. The second one turns into weird Nancy Drew-style detective work, replete with widespread ritualistic rape of teenagers and lots of pregnancy drama. And the third book is some woke political stuff and a law procedural drama. During the course of the series, the titular Mr Nolan goes from being a father to a lover to a father to not a father to a husband to a spy. And that's just one of the tamer arcs.
