First, here's my casting for Greg Cage. Just tattoo him up in your minds and add a few piercings below the belt *winks* (FULL REVIEW NOW POSTED)
Loved it! 4.5 stars — If you're a fan of badass, protective Alphas with huge hearts, this is the series for you!
They are my undoing. They just melt me. Every. Time. And this book is choc full of them! Cage will have you smiling, squeeing, awwwing and probably drooling! Everyone we'd come to love in Axel is back and this time the spotlight is on Cage and Melissa.
When we first met Cage in book #1, we learned learned that he lost his sister tragically and how losing her brought out the protector in him even more than ever before. While he couldn't save her, he sure as hell could try and make sure that nothing bad ever happened to the other women in his life and so he stepped into the role of protector quite naturally.
But he had a mission too - to bring down the man who killed his sister and make sure he never hurt anyone again. Unfortunately though, he was too late and that man had already gotten to one more innocent. That was when he met Melissa. As a doctor, Melissa was used to caring for others and herself. She was strong, independent and doing fine on her own caring for herself, her mother and nephew. And despite being attracted to Cage, she also made him work for his victories at first.
"Name's Greg Cage. Most of my friends call me Greg, some call me Cage, but you can call me whatever you want."...
"Does that line ever work for you? And why would I call you Cage? Sounds like something you stuff a rabid animal in."…
"Beauty, you can call me whatever you want as long as you're screaming it."
He may have been a big tough Alpha but Meli could certainly hold her own against him. She had no problem saying 'no' and wasn't going to let him push her around but at the same time was smart enough not to keep pushing him away. She knew a good thing when she saw it, she just wanted to be sure about him first.
"This man screams white knight…. I want him to be MY white knight. I want him to save me from me."
And Cage, well he was smitten from the first time they met but you gotta love his honesty about the whole thing:
"I won't go so far as saying it was love at first sight, but it damn sure was hard on at first sight. That motherfucker doesn't have selective taste though, so I can't rely on that alone."
Both Cage and Meli had pain from their past to come to terms with but I really liked that they didn't spend a lot of time pushing each other apart. Granted, they didn't just fall into bed either - there was an initial cautiousness but they both knew there was something special going on between them and they went for it.
"You're a good man, Greg Cage. You give me some time, and I might just fall in love with you." "That's the plan, Beauty."
Oh, and yup, he calls her "Beauty"........ *melt*
But when a bad guy from their past comes barreling back into their lives, threatening everything they hold dear, it's up to Cage to step full into his protector role and he will stop at nothing to make sure his family stays safe.
Towards the last 20%, my heart dropped!! The ending was intense! I got shivers! Ho-leee fuck, you do not mess with the Alphas. No no no!! Cage took matters into his own hands and teamed up with a biker friend from his past to go save the day! Things got a little dark there and definitely strayed into the more grey moral zone but it was FUN and so totally badass!
Ok ladies, so if you thought Axel was hot, just you wait! Cage takes things to the next level, ladies!! I have three words for you: "Huge, thick, and DECORATED." Mmhmm *nods* -- decorated. Three times I might add!
I really found this book to be pleasantly devoid of what I call 'stupid'. It was nice to read something that just didn't make me want to roll my eyes. The road certainly wasn't always smooth and people did mess up but for the most part, the issues were never too drawn out and I liked that Cage and Meli came out of every hurdle stronger and together.
I loved that despite this being Cage's book, we still saw a lot of Izzy and Axel and the whole rest of the Corps Security gang. They really were one big family - they had each other's backs, had fun together, bickered together, fought for each other. Family. Through and through. So much win...
✦ Sway's glorious glittery antics (he is seriously precious)
✦ Axel and Cage's Alpha man banter and never-ending TMI ("Never thought I would need a break, but my dick is tired man." "Jesus Christ, jackass. Can you not talk about that shit with me?" "You asked.")
✦ Cohen and his adorable magical cape of wonders
✦ Cooper and the whole "Don't say pussy in church, motherfucker" scene
✦ Dee and Beck's continuing saga (omg I have so many questions!! What is going on there??)
✦ Emmy and Maddox's maybe-someday drama (*hopes hopes hopes*).
Everything about these guys is just fun to read about. I really love this group and can't wait to read all their stories!
The series should absolutely be read in order however each book is a standalone about a different couple so you do get a full HEA a the end of each one :)
This is a definitely must read for fans of Kristen Ashley's Rock Chick series. While the story here certainly stands on it's own, the vibes are very similar and if you're a fan of that series, you will certainly enjoy these!
Highly recommended!

5 BEAUTY AND THE BEAST STARS.
Harper Sloan's debut novel 'Axel' was the beginning of an addiction for me, i'm not even a little shy to admit that I am a firm fan of the 'Corps security' boys. Axel was a huge hit and has since been added to my favourite series shelf. Since my self-confessed addiction started I've been eagerly waiting for the release of 'Cage' so when I generously received my ARC I was more than ready to meet this Corps security hero . Nothing gets me more excited than a series that is linked by its characters and Sloan definitely treats her readers with her tasty, alpha, everyone-needs-one-men. 'Cage' is an exciting, entertaining and provocative narrative about a couple who must battle through their own pasts, heartache and lust in order to have a chance at an enduring and forever love.
What's it all about?
Greg Cage has spent the last ten years battling personal demons since the death of a loved one. Using his skills as an ex marine, Cage uses everything he has to protect those he loves. He lives a half empty life involving himself in short term arrangements with women that he doesn't care for, his life has one focus; justice for his sisters death. Melissa Larson has walls build so high around her heart she allows nobody and nothing in, especially when it comes to relationships and love. This character is as sassy as she is charming and when faced with meeting Greg Cage she knows she has more than meet her match. A simmering and explosive attraction between this couple means it is inevitable that something must give along the line and as Cage and Melissa spend time together lust makes the way for love. But when a secret forces itself to the surface it threatens everything that Cage and Melissa have worked towards. 'Cage' follows the story of this couple and the journey it takes to find true happiness.
What did I love?
The question I should be asking is; what didn't I love? because that would be easy - nothing. But for reviewing's sake and because I love to talk about five star book's I'll tell you ... Firstly and this will come as no surprise I cherished the characters, Sloan hit the jackpot with this couple, Greg Cage and Melissa Larson were incredible characters. With Cage I had all the benefits of an alpha with the insides of a teddy bear. He was protective and loving and may have just tipped the scales as my favourite of the Corps security boys. Melissa was feisty and strong, she had a true sense of how to be a great friend and certainly held the upper hand in the sexual chemistry stakes. Together this couple were made-to-fit for this seductive novel. 'Cage' was ram packed full of interesting twists and turns and a storyline that was exciting, enjoyable, suspenseful and at times outright heartbreaking. The author managed to keep the theme of love from beginning to end and I did not once doubt the connection between the characters. I love books that build up profiles of other characters and already I'm chomping at the bit for the other Corps security boys stories, talk about tease I can hardly wait. 'Cage' is steamy style hot, Harper Sloan has some wicked bedroom writing talent, readers who like the temperature set to high will not be disappointed, be prepared to blush, Cage has set the bar high for other hero's. I didn't think Harper Sloan could encourage my addiction any further after 'meeting' Axel but I was wrong, this story and book two of the series completely stole my attention from beginning to end and I was captivated by the story, it combines outlandishly erotic with a five star worthy story line and I'm happy to add it to my favourite series shelf.
Final thoughts ...
Like most books there will be some people who fall in love with this series and other's who won't connect with the authors message. This book isn't full of flowers and rainbows, it has outlandishly protective heroes and potty mouthed heroines. It is out there sexy and has more colourful language than your average football game. As for me, I loved every sentence, every page and once again this author captured my heart using her talent to connect the dots and deliver an out there sexy novel. But why take my word for it? Go grab it readers, enjoy ... Kisses.

5 Beauty and the Sexy Beast stars!!!
From the moment I met Greg Cage in Axel I knew he was my type of guy. I have been anxiously awaiting this sequel, and it didn’t disappoint!
Now, without further ado... meet my newest book boyfriend: Greg Cage, or as I like to call him, SEXY BEAST!
Greg Cage is a great best friend, brother figure to Izzy, and PI. What he isn’t is a boyfriend. He doesn’t do relationships. Especially with the type of women he spends his time with.
Cage doesn’t really have any family, Izzy is like family to him. His sister was tragically taken from him ten years ago, and he also lost his mother. His story broke my heart at times. Cage takes a lot of the blame for things that happened in the past that were no way his fault. He is a protecter. He feels like there is something he should have done. Thank goodness he has Izzy, someone thats family to him.
Cage soon finds that Melissa is friends wiht Izzy and ends up seeing her over the next few days. He wants her. He needs to have her. The sexual tension between these two was off the chart!
The more time Melissa and Cage spend together, the more their chemistry grows... Damn those two are HOT together! Just a happy little tidbit- Greg Cage is ‘decorated’ x3!
There connection isn’t just physical. For the first time in a long time, Greg Cage wants more with a woman. More than just sex. He’s never felt this way before, and he knows Meli feels it too. She is just more hesitant to admit it.
I adore Greg and Melissa together. And add her little nephew Cohen into the mix, it will melt your heart! The interactions between Cohen and Cage had me in tears. Everything is going well in their relationship, besides some drama with a crazy ex fling of Cage’s. But there is a secret between them. Cage is afraid of Melissa finding out. Afraid it will change everything between them. He is just now getting her to open up more, getting her to let him be there for her, be her strength, he doesn’t want to risk changing that.
Eventually, Melissa finds out. She is hurt that Cage would keep this from her. What they have is far to special to throw away. Cage just has to get Melissa to see that.
Alpha males... I have a weakness and Greg Cage is alpha to the extreme! Protective, sweet, caring, sexy, delicious... I could go on about him all day! Greg Cage is by far the BEST thing about this book! Melissa is not your typical heroine... for one, she is not annoying or whiny at all, she’s actually pretty bad ass and awesome! Cage and Melissa had similar pasts and were able to connect on that level. I adored reading about Cohen and Cage, that was one of my favorite things about the book. It was also great to catch up with the rest of the Corps gang- Izzy and Axel + baby Nate, Beck and Dee, Coop, Emmy and ♥Maddox ♥... hehe.
Sometimes, when I really like the first book in a series I am nervous to read the second... is it going to be as good? Well, I have to say that I couldn’t have been happier with the sequel. Better than the first! I was not disappointed one bit. This is a fantastic series and I’m looking forward to the rest! My only complaint(which isn’t really about the book at all lol)... My Maddox Locke’s book is NUMBER 5? You are going to make me wait that long, woman? Okay, okay... I guess there is something to be said for saving the best for last! Anyway, if you are looking for a sexy as hell alpha male, bad ass heroine, a steamy read with some action, drama, suspense with some sweet and swoony moments, look no further! I highly recommend this series! 5 huge, thick, and decorated stars from me! :D

While at the dr office, Cage sees a woman like no other. He has to pick his jaw off the floor, she is that much of a knock out. Melissa is a nurse at the doctors office. She sees Cage, and notices how attractive he is, but she’s not going there. Nope. She has similar demons in her past, after losing her own sister.
Damn, I miss Grace.
I might be many things, but I am also smart enough to learn from the past. Smart enough to know that no man who oozes so much alpha male will be happy with a woman who isn’t weak. Or, he won’t settle until he makes me weak, and I will never be that bitch.

If you want something, you fight for it. When you thing you have fought hard enough, fight a little more. Don’t ever let anyone or any situation make you who you are.

Okay.
I uhh…
Well…
I liked it.
I LIKED IT, okay?
I didn’t LOVE it or anything because I mean… there were some things that bugged the shit out of me but I did like it. I was kind of standing in the threshold between loving and hating it so… THREE stars, it is.
Now let’s cut the bullshit, shall we?
Cage is a lot different in this book than he was in the prior one. I mean, in the first one I kept referring to him as “The Quiet Guy Holding the Gun” who happened to have a fetish for calling girls he liked, “Baby Girl”.
In this book, I promoted him to Gregory “HEAR THIS” Cage.
Also known as: The Guy Who Missed His Calling as Town Crier.
But fuck it. Because he had some steamy moments in this book. And I sure as hell didn’t read this book for its quick-witted intellect, so I got what I wanted.
And then there’s Melissa.
The heroine.
*shrugs* I liked her. She wasn’t too annoying. And she kind of had this “tough chick” thing going on so it made for some intense moments withthe town crierCage. By that, I mean that this book has some angst. And we all know how I feel about my angst. (LOVE IT!)
What I really liked about this book was it’s play on “Beauty and the Beast”. And how it wasn’t a really obvious play on it. And you may slap me with a spoiler flag for saying this but Cage calls Melissa, “Beauty” because she won’t tell him her name… and then later because Cage is such a beast in the bedroom (*eyeroll*), she ends up calling him, “Beast”. I thought that was cute!
What BUGGED THE CRAP OUT OF ME about this book:
The dialogue, I thought, was shitty.
The storyline has zero development. It’s one of those zero to sixty kind of books. Meaning there’s NO buildup. For anything.
And unfortunately those two things were star-heavy enough for me to deduct from my overall rating of this book.

I want to say one last thing. Harper Sloan pleasantly surprised me in this book because it was very apparent that she’s coming into her own. And I may not be the biggest fan of her writing style, but I respect it. Why? Because she actually has a writing style now. I’m curious to see what she does with it.

What I really liked about this book was it’s play on “Beauty and the Beast”. And how it wasn’t a really obvious play on it. And you may slap me with a spoiler flag for saying this but Cage calls Melissa, “Beauty” because she won’t tell him her name… and then later because Cage is such a beast in the bedroom (*eyeroll*), she ends up calling him, “Beast”. I thought that was cute!
What BUGGED THE CRAP OUT OF ME about this book:
The dialogue, I thought, was shitty.
The storyline has zero development. It’s one of those zero to sixty kind of books. Meaning there’s NO buildup. For anything.
And unfortunately those two things were star-heavy enough for me to deduct from my overall rating of this book.

I want to say one last thing. Harper Sloan pleasantly surprised me in this book because it was very apparent that she’s coming into her own. And I may not be the biggest fan of her writing style, but I respect it. Why? Because she actually has a writing style now. I’m curious to see what she does with it.

4.5 Sexy Beast Stars
Having her in my arms feels like coming home. I am not one to believe in all that love at first sight bullshit, but even as cynical as I am, I can recognize something bigger than lust at work.
Before, this was all about the game. Enjoy him while I can and stay away from any kind of attachments. But now, I feel like it would be impossible to walk away.
Whose pants, you ask? Well Greg Cage's of course. No need to think about decor, as Cage has already decorated the ahem...facilities very well. And yes I mean exactly what you're thinking about. Don't worry about bringing refreshments, as you will be getting drunk on all his sexy Alpha-maleness. I would suggest bring a few packs of ice for those moments (and there will be quite a few) where your ovaries will feel like they are about to catch on fire.
In Axel, I got very sweet and tame vibes from Cage. Boy was I in for a surprise when we got to see what he was really like. And let me just say, mama like! The book starts off with a bang
And I do mean a bang! And what a ride it was.
Axel definitely still holds the number one spot for me (until Maddox finally gets his book. What? I happen to have a thing for the broken and broody assholes), but Greg did give him a run for his money.
What really made this book for me though, was the heroine. I love me a kick ass heroine, and Melissa had it in spades. She is still dealing with the pain of losing her sister, but she still maintains this strength about herself.
It was so refreshing to read about a heroine that didn't have any insecurities about her looks, and gave as good as she got. Greg may have his way with words, but Meli definitely put him in his place and made him work for it.
Greg is a man that hasn't exactly been the relationship type. That's not to say that he doesn't secretly long for it when he sees the love between his friends Axel and Izzy. When he first sees Meli, it's a case of insta-lust and he is determined to do everything to make her his.
While Meli doesn't exactly make it easy for him, Greg certainly has a way with words. And when the man has his goal in mind, he pulls no punches.
And let me just tell you, when these two finally get down to business...WOWZA!
I am not usually a fan of almost insta-love, but somehow with Greg and Meli it just worked. It was not a instant thing, but it was a fairly quick transition from lust to love, yet it felt smooth. It just worked for them.
Greg is still dealing with regrets and past pain of his own. But he is trying to work through it and make amends for his past mistakes. He still has an edge about him with his dirty talking ways, but he also had this incredible sweet side.
We also get some more glimpses at all our favorite boys, including my deliciously broody Maddox. And of course some more Axel and Izzy and their newest little addition...that apparently doesn't fall too far from the tree.
Then there was Mandy:
And that is all I will say on that subject.
This book was not as angsty as the first one was, but it was still filled with plenty of action, steam, and suspense. There was a super sweet epilogue, and a quick sneak peek into Beck and Dee's book.
This series has become an auto-buy favorite for me. Harper Sloan really knows how to write one hell of a sexy Alpha hero. And Greg Cage was no exception. I am now a little spoiled. I will be expecting every hero I read from now on to have the "trifecta of vaginal bliss."
Now that is all the ramblings you will be getting from this girl. I am off to pout about the fact that I have to wait until book 5 to read about my beloved Maddox. And I thank you!

As soon as I found out this book was released, I HAD to get it. I LOVED Greg in the first book, Axel, that I couldn't wait to read this.
Greg Cage has been thirsty for vengence for what happened in his past for a very long time. But when he sees how happy Izzy and Axel are, he can't help but want the same thing for himself. He just hasn't found the right woman yet. In the meantime, he has sexual relationships with women but never anything more than that. When he takes Nate, Izzy and Axel's son, to the doctor he meets nurse Melissa Larson. It was lust at first sight. He's never wanted to see a woman again like he does with Meli. From that moment on, he knows he can't let her slip away from him. He must have her.

When I first started this book, I had a bit of trouble getting into it unlike the first book of this series. I remember Greg being such a sweetheart Alpha. It took a while for that Greg to show up. First we were introduced to the Greg that cares about the women in his life, but that could be a bit of a jerk as well and I didn't like it. I didn't know that Mandy, his psycho fuck buddy, would later deserve the way he treated her. Once he let himself fall for Meli, that sweet man I loved so much finally arrived. I loved the way he protected, loved, and called Meli Beauty. But my goodness, what I loved the most was how this sexy man would interact with Meli's nephew Cohen. I loved what a beast he became in bed and did I mention his cock has three piercings. So hot! Greg had his moments but in the end, I totally loved him.
Melissa Larson has vowed to never make the same mistakes her mother and sister have made, after her sister dies. She will never let a man control her or cause her harm. She is an independent woman who takes care of her mother and nephew. But when she meets Greg Cage, she can't deny the attraction as well as something more. Greg has the power to hurt her deeply and it scares the crap out of her. That doesn't stop her from trying at a relationship with him. She's been taking care of herself and her family for so long that she doesn't know how to lean on Greg. But she does know that she is falling for him and that it feels right.

I loved the fact that Meli could take care of herself. But she was a bit annoying at first. I don't really know how to explain it, it's just that at times she would be too much for me. I mean I liked that she was a wonderful aunt to Cohen and how she took care of her mother. But at times she would come across as a bit bitchy. As the story progressed, I felt she became better. She could be kind and caring. There was a part where she stood up to crazy Mandy, I could not stop laughing and applauding her for defending herself. Seriously that Mandy was über cray cray. What I did like about her was that she didn't overreact when things got tough, she actually thought things through instead of letting her emotions get the better of her. That I did like.

The sex in this book was super passionate. Who knew Greg was such a beast and that he had cock piercings, that certainly made things interesting. But I'm surprised Meli could even walk with how much sex they were having. I think this was a bit too much at times, just because I really wanted them to get to know each other, and not just in bed. They had this connection they both couldn't deny, yet I was waiting for it to develop. When it finally did, I was so happy. Seriously, Greg was just so freaking swoony... the things he would say.

I loved this little boy. And my heart broke hearing him wonder about his parents. But the way he took to Greg was awesome to see. I loved it!

And right there, a tangle of limbs and our lips locked together, we both reach our release at the same time. Completely connected. Mind, body, and soul.

The book was able to get my interest more in the last 40%. That's when both Greg and Meli were more open, although I would have liked to have read it happen rather than time going by. It was also when some drama started happening and it had me so nervous and scared. The ending was good but I was left wanting more. I really wanted Greg's reaction, but oh well. I am now very much wanting to read Maddox's book. I liked the way he would act towards Cohen. I'm also curious about Dee and Beck, I wonder how that will turn out. I can't wait to read it!

5 stars !! What an amazing book !!! This book had everything on my wish-list !! Alpha yumminess and those tender heart-wrenching gut-clenching moments ....I just can't get enough!!!!!!!!!!!
besides the sizzling hot scenes in this book I absolutely loved the story!
This man screams white knight. When he settles his hips against mine and sinks deep, the last coherent thought that filters through my mind is that I want him to be my white knight. I want him to save me from me.

Greg Cage is unbelievably close to perfection.
I loved his brute strength, his ummmm....piercings....., his "table manners and eating habits"....Yup I spent the better part of this book on #CageCloudNine
PLUSSSSSSSS (this is the all that and a bag of chips moment) ....he had a heart of pure gold and that's what I love most. Every scene he had with Cohen made my heart swell!!! He has my vote for super-hero FOR SURE. His talk with Melissa's mom.....I held my heart and did the dimple smile. I'm pretty sure I highlighted the whole conversation. Even his call to Braxx....told me where his heart was at!

We're gr friends so I'm going to assume it's cool. All I have to say to you is...
But seriously... This book had EVERYTHING IN IT!!! I mean there was this awesomely hot hunk of pierced three (3) times deliciousness of a man. A sexy, sassy, smart woman who could handle him. The most adorable three year old, hot biker shit, a smathering of serendipity and destiny, and the rest of Corps Security of course!!! I cannot fail to mention SWAY is back!!! :D
In Axel I was so pissed with how long it took communication to happen. And while there was a moment there for about 5 - 10% of the book where I was like OH NO this is about to get predictable and I'm going to have to knock off a star or two if this shit goes on for too long... but right then it gets resolved and the way it goes down makes sense and worked very well!
Then there were moments of OMG and WTF and lots of moments of Do THAT Again! It was so good I almost want to go back and give Axel less stars just to convey how much better this was than that. But I'm not about that life, so no worries. Anyway, read it, love it, add another BBF to the list! I know I did.

4 Sizzling Hot Stars!!
Greg Cage feels the need to protect. That’s why he does what he does and why he always was so close to Iz’s, it is in his nature.
And that’s because he couldn’t protect the only person that mattered, his sisters Grace, which was murdered by her husband that went MIA after that.
The guilt of not being able to save his sisters is consuming him for the past ten years.
Then he meets Meli, the first woman who brought him to his knees and he soon finds out that she is as lost as him, for the very same reasons. She lost her sisters too, because of his husband. And she also feels the bear on her shoulders of not have being able to save her.
And in the beginning their grief brings them closer… when they start finding out that have a lot more in common than they initially thought… that could be the reason that will eventually break them apart.
This was pretty good. I liked the first one better, but this was also a great reading.
The characters were good, the story was very well written and in some moments it got some tears out of me.
This has a LOT of steam (really, so HOT!) and has a lot of romance. So if you like this type of books you can’t miss it ;)
My only complaint is the overuse of curse words and “trash talk”. Believe, I have the mouth of a little pirate and curse all the time. And my friends and I do “trash talk” all the time. It is one of our favorite past-times. But there is a moment where it starts to become slightly uncomfortable and that was what happened for me in this book.

4.5--Axel Who???--Stars!
No seriously....why would you want an Axel Reid when you could have a three-pierced (yes people--THREE) Greg Cage????? You wouldn't!!
Oh yeah....
So we met Greg Cage in Axel....and I did have a soft spot for him even then. But that was just a little nibble of the greatness that is Greg Cage. That boy is...
Uncle Greg is taking sweet little Nate (Axel and Izzy's son) to the doctor when he meets Nurse Melissa. It's instant attraction for the both of them. Neither one are gung-ho about commitments. Greg just using women to satisfy an itch and Melissa so strapped with taking care of her nephew and mom not having time.
Not to mention, Greg's latest itch....there really are no words to describe the utter fucked-up-ness of Mandy!
She'll stop at nothing and I mean nothing....chick fights, stalking, lying.
Granted if I had three-pierced Greg I might not want to give him up either. She just keeps showing up everywhere. She shows up at Melissa's job....slits her tires.
Tries to climb the gates in to Greg's neighborhood. Is there anything this chick won't do to get to Greg??
Mandy is like the freaking itch that won't ever go away. And she no likey that Greg has moved on to Melissa.
Greg and Melissa lit up the pages. Greg in the sack--with three piercings--HOLY HOTNESS! I mean I kind of wanted to ask my hubby to get some piercings. Is that wrong??
Greg and Melissa grow closer and closer....taking care of Cohen (LOVE the name choice by the way--I have a 4 year old son named Cohen) more and more. Becoming one big happy family.
Too bad that damn itch comes back.....
IDK--I just really liked this story. I liked both Greg and Melissa. Melissa was a tough, doesn't take shit from anyone chick. It was a smoking HOT, entertaining, quick read....standalone with a HEA. I can't wait to read Beck and Dee's story!!!

Greg and Melissa lit up the pages. Greg in the sack--with three piercings--HOLY HOTNESS! I mean I kind of wanted to ask my hubby to get some piercings. Is that wrong??
Greg and Melissa grow closer and closer....taking care of Cohen (LOVE the name choice by the way--I have a 4 year old son named Cohen) more and more. Becoming one big happy family.
Too bad that damn itch comes back.....
IDK--I just really liked this story. I liked both Greg and Melissa. Melissa was a tough, doesn't take shit from anyone chick. It was a smoking HOT, entertaining, quick read....standalone with a HEA. I can't wait to read Beck and Dee's story!!!

Ok, I loved Axel, was very excited to start this one.
But Cage...loved him in Axel. HATED him here.
Was a DNF at about 17%.
Not one character in this book was nice and someone I cared about getting a HEA.
Cage has a FWB he treats like dirt, slaps, tells to shut up, has no issue with his friends calling her a gold digging *****, thinks that himself. He asks himself why he puts up with her, basically, because he does not want to wait to get his rocks off! His FWB, Mandy, may be nutty, but Cage is horrible.
And Melissa, who wants nothing to do with Cage, after a 5 min meeting, as apparently no man who oozes so much alpha maleness (he doesn't, that is just his awfulness coming through) will be happy with a woman who isn't weak. Or, he wont settle until he makes her weak, and she refuses to be that woman.
Then, Cage basically assaults her on the dance floor later on, and feels her up, but she is ok with it, for some reason! Then the FWB Mandy turns up, understandably upset, and Melissa refers to her as ""that" and other awful terms, Cage just stands and watches as Melissa humiliates Mandy, certainly acts no better than Mandy, and probably worse, then Melissa storms off, and Cage drags Mandy off to an office and "allows" her to give him a blow job and then sleeps with her!
Ok, Mandy is a bit of an idiot, and but come on, Cage is not a nice man!
No, at that point I am out! Cage and Melissa, neither one are likeable characters that I care one iota about, and Mandy, the supposed "bad guy" at this point is certainly no worse then the pair of them!
Am I supposed to not like Mandy, but like Melissa? When there is very little between them, and certainly nothing to like!

The language and attitude toward women, by the men and women, just left a huge bad taste in my mouth.

OMG I fell in love with Greg Cage in Axel, and I knew his book would be great. I was not disappointed!

I was melting the way Cohen wrapped Greg around his little finger. What is sexier than a Bad ass Alpha male being a good father? Nothing! I am a total sucker for lil kids and babies so this book had a ton of Aww moments for me.
"Melwee? What are you doing? Why is Greg not wearing his big boy underwear? Why doesn't Greg have clothes on? I wanna be naked! You’re gonna see his wiener, and Nana said that boys shouldn't show their wieners to girls. It’s naughty. You’re gonna go to time out.”

He told me it worked on him, so it has to be magic powers, Melwee! He told me. He said all I have to do is smile and everyone falls in love with me because I’m special like that.”
This book had it all Hot Sexy Men, Sassy Women not taking shit from no one, melt you into a puddle sex, crazy ass drama, and cute little kids what more can you ask for? Great read, I can't wait to read beck's story. I will leave you with one of my favorite parts from the book.

Anyway, we walk in and he starts pointing to every mannequin, every sales lady’s chest. Then when I’m checking out, he pulls my top down and screams ‘mine’. You have issues with that boy if he is already chasing tits at one.”

3.5 stars! Book 2 in the Corps Security series.
Greg Cage, security hotty, fiercely protective of all women in his life, has suffered for years with regret in the loss of his sister Grace. Grace died at the hands of an abusive husband. After she passed, he had to get away so he joined the Marine Corps. Should've stayed back and made sure that rat bastard never harmed another innocent woman. If only he stayed back.....
Melissa, a struggling nurse, trying to make ends meet supporting not only herself but her mother and nephew, also has pain from the past. She's lost her sister in the last two years, also by an evil husband. She will never let her defenses down, will never let that happen to her.
When Greg sets eyes on the dark-haired bombshell while taking Axel's baby to the doctor, he's instantly drawn to her. Little did he know, Izzy has struck up a friendship with said beauty and they'd soon meet again with wedding festivities. Greg just didn't know how quick he'd fall for her, that one night of unbridled passion wouldn't be enough. He wants more...much more.
My thoughts- the book is hot. Harper can write a sex scene. The character development of Greg and Melissa was good. The reason for my 3.5 star rating was the insta-love thing. I didn't attach to their characters enough, their connection enough to buy the "I love you" vibes we get after one night of sex. That made it difficult throughout the whole book for me to "buy it." The sex scenes kept me hanging on as did the other Corps Security characters. Dee is a hoot.
One thing- I don't really understand a certain "flaming" character throwing glitter around as they entered the office in the morning. I found that kind of offensive since he's obviously gay, making him seem "fairy-ish." Can't see a gay man throwing glitter on badass security dudes no matter how "flaming" they are. I know it was meant to instill comedy but it put me off a bit......
So, if you're in the mood for some steam, insta-love, a little suspense, this book will deliver. Looking forward to Dee and Beck just cuz she's a hoot!

Greg Cage has been a protector all his life. The fact that he couldn't save his twin sister from her abusive husband has made him decide he'll never let another woman in his life get hurt again.
Melissa Larson has always been the strong, sober type in her family. The last thing she needs is an overprotective man trying to take over her life. Still, the moment these two meet, sparks fly and the sexual tension is over the roof! So, when it comes down to it, can these two find a way to compromise and complement each other along the way?
I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I really like Harper Sloan's writing style and the characters she created in this series. Loved seeing more of Izzy and Axel as well! The drama was a little over the top at times, but other than that I really enjoyed this fun, sexy, fast-paced read with a hot reformed alpha male and a strong, undependable heroine!! Already looking forward to Dee and Beck's story...

There are things that worked for me and things that didn't.
First off, I liked this book but it didn't blew me away. I know most people loved this book better than the first one but I'm the exact opposite. I actually liked the first book better despite Izzy's immaturity at that time. Axel and Izzy's story just grabbed me but here, it just didn't sink in. I found myself skimming the middle part of the book.
I don't really need my characters to be perfect but it's important that as a reader I am able to relate to them. It just didn't happen here.
I did like the steam in this book though. Cage definitely delivered in more ways than one. And Cohen, bless his heart, was adorable. I am even more intrigued about Maddox and Emmy. Yeah, I'm looking forward to their story the most. Not sure about Dee and Beck. I would hate to read another female pushing a perfectly hot and interested guy just because she doesn't "trust" him. There better be a good reason for that otherwise, the whole pushing and pulling thing would just drive me batty.
Don't let my lukewarm review deter you in reading this book though. A lot of my GR friends loved this book. This is strictly my own feeling and opinion. ♥

The moment he loss his other half he went into fading zone. Booze and women's were the only escaping route for him not feel the pain of wasn't helping his sister. But when he came back to his sense he promised himself that he'll move heaven and earth to keep safe who are beloved to him and those who can face the same tragedy like his sister.
So he started keeping tags on his sister's husband's second new victim/plaything. That's where the Beauty that knocked him on his ass came into the picture

Move over Axel, there is another hot alpha-stud on the loose and his name is Cage! I have to say that I was doubtful that I would fall hard for Cage; but fall I did....and soon I was thinking...Axel who??! LOL! Mr. Gregory Cage is the whole package ladies!!! He has the dominant personality, yet he has a heart of gold and can't stand to see a person he loves in pain or suffering in any way. He needs to fix whatever is causing them grief, it is like a compulsion that he just can not control. He is kind, considerate,and compassionate all in the same breath. I also can not forget to mention that he stands at 6foot 4, is built like a brick shithouse, tattoed...and most importantly...he has three piercings in a place that is not a regular location for jewelerry! (hint: somewhere below the belt! **ahem**)
When Cage takes his nephew to the doctor's office for a fever that has made the poor kid ill; in walks the nurse on duty: Melissa...Cage falls into lust immediately, and the chase is on. One thing I adore about Melissa is she is a straight shooter..in other words..she tells it like it is. Needless to say, she calls Cage on his BS and won't put up with his crap, which includes a woman who becomes obssessed with Cage and staking her claim. This woman is a creep and develops some major stalking tendencies; Melissa doesn't let that bother her though, she refuses to let anyone run over her!

I still am having a wicked crush on Maddox, and can't wait for his story to find out what makes that man tick! This woman is a creep and develops some major stalking tendencies; Melissa doesn't let that bother her though, she refuses to let anyone run over her!

I enjoyed Cage just as much as I did Axel! I love the introduction of Braxxon Breaker and I am curious to know more about him and his MC club but more importantly him. The writing was strong and appeals to those who love a strong alpha and strong female. I think Meli’s strength and no non sense attitude was a breath of fresh air. No one likes a weak wounded heroine. Well I don’t… Plot wise I felt some of it was a tad predictable but overall I LOVED IT!!!!

LOVED every single page of this one.. Greg Cage is just sex personified.... He's a bit of a man ho but he goes after what he wants..and he wanted Melissa from the moment he laid eyes on her.. I LOVED MELISSA!!! She was strong and opinionated and didn't take shit off anyone but she was soft and sexy at the same time. She didn't want to let Cage in , but once she did...HOLYSHITHOTNESSSSSSSSS!!!! Wow! Liz knows how to write some serious sexy times. ***Droooool*** I loved watching them come together..Mel was scared to let herself love and Cage was keeping a big secret from her that worried the shit out of me and I was really nervous that once Mel found out that it would take up too much story and turn all angsty.. but NOPE! Not too much time was wasted on that and the story rolled on perfect.. PERFECT. We had just the right amount of drama at the end which allowed Cage to be the perfect hero which had me doing all kinds of dreamy sighs.... This was a quick read, perfect steam, super hot sexy times, a super cute kid added to the mix, and an HEA. Can't ask for more than that..

Cage is book 2 in the Corps Security series. I enjoyed book 1, Axel. The story moves along at a quick pace and the main conflict seems to be resolved fairly easily.
Cage’s story was a great follow up from Axel because I needed more I had questions that I needed answers too. I knew he was feeling a void in his life from being so protective of Izzy and Dee but just seeing just how deep that quilt went was heart clinching and I needed him to be happy.
We have the entire clan back and it is great to see a little bit of Izzy, Axel and Nates happiness and see the other guys & girls are still dealing with the same drama oh these stubborn boys and girls.
MELISSA: She had attitude for miles and felt the need to protect herself from anything other than meaningless flings but Cage eventually broke through those walls to give us the HEA we were all waiting for

On top of that, Cage and Melissa just running off to get married, ooo dear me, I not only feel annoyed but hello Cage..... Izzy was practically like your sister! That really didn't make the story sweet but it just made it worse for me. Sorry girls.....

Okay so where do I start with Cage?
Let’s start with how badass Melissa is! Melissa is no shrinking violet who needs someone to protect her. She takes care of her family no matter how much it costs her and she will go to the ends of the earth for them.
She also doesn’t take shit from ANYONE! I love her. I had a total girl crush on her throughout the whole book. She will knock a bitch OUT! Especially if you’re trying to mess with her man! <3 <3
Then there’s Greg Cage... sigh. Greg is amazing on so many levels. I wanted to knock him upside the head when he just didn’t go with his gut and tell Melissa everything at the beginning like he originally wanted to, but you know how guys are lol. He was fierce and protective. The way he was with Cohen was melt your heart, fall into a puddle of goo on the floor adorable.
The story plays how wonderfully – I love all the twists and the way it comes back around at the end. Although there are so some sad parts. I cant wait to get some glimpses of them in the future books. Especially about Cohen <3
All the side characters and stories are such a tease but I love this gang. I cant wait for Beck and Dee and OH MY GOSH why is Harper Sloan teasing us with Maddox and Emmy, when it’s the last book?!!? Geez those two have a long way to go and I’m already in love with them.

You know when you read the first book in a series and you are dying to get your hands on the next one because the first one was just so damn Good? Well that is how I feel about this series. When I read Axel I fell in love with Harper and her writing style as well as her characters in the book. I knew Cage was coming next and I was craving his book soooo Much. When I got my Email yesterday with My ARC of Cage I dropped everything I was reading and doing and Jumped right in head and feet first because I knew It was going to be THAT DAMN GOOD, and guess what Harper has not disappointed me !!!!!!!
We first Met Greg in Axel's Book. We found out that he had lost his sister to an abusive husband and He had vowed that although he could not protect his sister that all future woman in his life would get his protection. In Axel we met Greg through Izzy, she was like a sister to him and he had helped her through some difficult times.
I fell in love with Greg in that book alone, But in this book I fell head over heals for him. He is 100% swoon worthy, he is sweet, protective, loving, caring, total 100% alpha Hot Man!!!!!
“Trust me when I tell you that I have lived a life that makes me know when something is worth fighting for. I took one look at you and knew you were worth it to me. It’s new, I get that, but I know you feel it too.”
Greg has found his soul mate and he will stop at nothing to get her and to protect her. He wants to make her his and his alone. She is someone he craves. Swoon points big time he calls her Beauty!!!!

Melissa is amazing, she is a strong willed woman who takes no crap from anyone. She can surely take care of herself and she has no problem with telling someone how she feels. She is fiercely independent, she stops at nothing to protect her family.
When he settles his hips against mine and sinks deep, the last coherent thought that filters through my mind is that I want him to be my white knight. I want him to save me from me.
"You're a good man, Greg Cage. You give me some time, and I might just fall in love with you." "That's the plan, Beauty."
Although there was some issues for these two to work out they did it and they overcame them all and came out stronger in the end.
“You’re such a beast,” I speak softly into his ear before nipping his lope lightly with my teeth. “But I’m your beast, and baby… every Beauty needs a Beast.”
Little Cohen, Who you will meet also, he is so damn cute, funny, I love the stuff that comes out of his mouth and you will be laughing right along while reading like I was. Like I always say the things outta the mouths of babes.
Another thing I LOVED was even though this was Greg's Book we still saw some of Axel, Izzy, and the rest of the Corps Men and woman. Totally makes you love the story even more with all of the best characters in a story. One thing I truly LOVE about Harper and her writing style is that Everything runs smoothly together in the story and even having all the characters it is not over done , but at the same time you still don't want the story to end either.
Harper Has done it again, I lOVED Axel, I LOVE Cage and now I will be not so patiently waiting for Beck !!!!!!!

Melissa, is a strong independent woman with too much responsibly on her shoulders. She is raising her dead sisters son, supporting herself her nephew and her mother on little pay and long hours. She only wants pleasures from a man, not more.
When "it" hits the fan, Cage is the one anyone would want on their side. he take serious measures to fix the problem without mercy. His ties to his past are there to help him when he calls, and boy do they come though.
I had a hard time with the first 50% of the story. Cage was so crude, cold and cutthroat to his bed mate. I own my own little trucker mouth but dang it if he didn't even make my eyes want to turn away and cringe. Cage was just nasty. He wasn't the Greg Cage I met in book one, he was amped up big time, and I didn't like him again till the end of the story. The sex was cold and ugly with girl #1 and hot and steamy with beauty. I liked book #1 much more than this one it just went too far for my taste. I'm giving the next book, Beck a try.

I own my own little trucker mouth but dang it if he didn't even make my eyes want to turn away and cringe. Cage was just nasty. He wasn't the Greg Cage I met in book one, he was amped up big time, and I didn't like him again till the end of the story. The sex was cold and ugly with girl #1 and hot and steamy with beauty. I liked book #1 much more than this one it just went too far for my taste. I'm giving the next book, Beck a try.

Sometimes love isn't enough. From the very beginning, Greg Cage owned me. I couldn't resist his charm, his muscles, his sex appeal and lets be honest, him being decorated 3 times, doesn't make me want to run away. It makes me want to run right up to him and beg for him to make me his beauty.
So, I started a thing with him. I couldn't just walk away, he owned me. Have you ever had a person see inside your soul, make you feel things you never thought you could feel? well that's what Cage did to me. I'm not a good person, but damn does Cage make me feel GOOOODDDD

While all the shit went down, you will know what shit i'm talking about when you read his damn book, which you should have done or are doing right now, I had sometime to reflect on my other relationship with Mr. Braxxon. Now see Cage and him have a past, and I was apart of that past. Braxx taught me a lot and seeing him again just brought back all my feelings and scared me, ALOT. thankfully he wasn't around for very long, just long enough to make me want him again. But then he vanished and I was left all hot and bothered, cause damn him and cage together was fucking hot. I'd like to lock them in a room together and go all 50 shades on their find ass, together, at the same time. wait I got side tracked.
When I am with my beast an we are not playing hide the sausage, which we play all the time, DUH he is a beast. He makes me want to do this all the time.

I flipping love this book!!!
I connected with both Melissa and Cage from the very beginning. They met at sort of a love at first sight or in Cage's opinion:
Their connection was hot. As their story progressed, you can feel the relationship growing and how they are connected in more than just body parts.
There was too many things I loved about this book. Loved how the guys talk among each other (ah Axel!)
Loved how the story played out, LOVED Alpha, protective Cage. (The Perfect Book Boyfriend!) and Loved the kids (I know there will be more *winks*)
When I read Axel, I couldn't help but compare it with a KA book, but with Cage, not once did I make the comparison.
Anyway this was an amazing sequel and it surpassed any high expectations I had. Harper Sloan is one mean author and this book gave us snippets of Beck and Maddox's book and I cannot wait!!!

I ended up loving Cage! I haven't read Axel but I might have to after reading Cage. Over all it was a fantastic read and I look forward to more by Harper!
