The Amalfitano's Bold Abduction is a December 2013 Steel Magnolia Press publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the author/publisher.

Dana, a police officer, is on vacation with her two friends in Italy. After an accident in her rental car, she is nearly ran over and saves a cat in the process. The cat is with Andrea, a hot Italian, also involved in the traffic accident. When Dana's rental car is totaled, Andrea steps in and before she knows what is happening, Dana has been loaded into a helicopter and spirited away to Andrea's private island. Dana is furious when she realizes she has been kidnapped, and Andrea's calm explanation that he hasn't kidnapped her, just abducted her, for her own safety. It seems the cat, and Andrea's sister and her estranged husband were at the heart of the accident and now Andrea fears Dana could be at risk until he can contact his sister and get to the bottom of things.
The island is beautiful, but far from safe and they come under attack once again. But, that isn't the only danger Dana faces. Andrea is making it very hard for her to resist him and Dana's heart could be in danger most of all.
But, is Andrea's sister's hot headed husband really behind the attacks?

This contemporary romance is like something you have most likely daydreamed about in one way or another at some time. A tall, dark, and handsome Italian with an accent, a private island? Ummm- yeah!
This was a really fun story! I loved the cat in the story and Andrea was so sweet to Dana. Her vacation may not have turned out the way she planned, but I don't think was too upset with the way things turned out.
Overall this one gets an A.

Yes, I know this is a 'category romance', still I expect good writing: ergo a good plot and at least some characterization (something more than she's gorgeous, he's beautiful and rich).

Here there was nothing that made any sense from the absurd beginning to the worse ending. I skim read most of the book.
A sample:
-he kipdnaps her because of a cat
- she never reacts (and she's a policewoman)
- she disappeared and nobody noticed
And yes I understand this is as fake as Disneyland still a bit more reality in writing about a foreign country...

I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title. (Audible Membership)

A possible accident caused the American woman to react as her police training had taught her. Stepping in to clear the obstructions before someone did cause a greater problem. The Italian male, who was her first encounter, surprised her with both his escaping cat and his help to put her plan into action.
What happens from that point forward becomes a wonderful tale of male dominance and protective instinct.

Contemporary Romance

Well written romance that is the dream of any single young or old gal. The heroine is abducted by a very handsome billionaire. He did it to protect her from unknown assailants. They fall in love, and there is a HEA ending. There are sex scenes in the book,so it is meant for a mature audience. I recommend this book to anybody who likes to dream the impossible.

Whisk yourself away to Italy for this beautiful romance!

Dana and Andrea definitely take a unique path to their HEA, but it was loads of fun with likable characters and a swoon-worthy hero. I'm at the point in my reading that I'll read anything by this author, and this one certainly lives up to her reputation. Plenty of heart, delightful family members, a bit of suspense and intrigue, and a thoroughly happy ending for all.

Fast and furious

I have given my review the title Fast and Furious as it describes the speed in which these two fall in love, and Dana's feelings towards Andrea when he initially abducts her to his private island.
This is book 3 of a series but in no way related to the other two, except that they all follow the same premise of American in Italy falls for an Italian billionaire.
Ok for a beach read.

Sun, sand and an Italian man

A sweet story set on a private island off the coast of Italy that makes me want to plan my own Italian holiday. Although mine would be much more prosaic than this one unless a rich, handsome Italian man wanted to whisk me away. Ah well, a girl can only dream. Godere della storia il mia amica.

Loved this one!!!

If there was ever a great, contemporary, Italian romance novel this is it for me! I absolutely enjoyed it from beginning to end.

I especially loved Andrea, the sexy and very male protagonist and his extreme sweet nature!

This is a great one to read in my estimation!

The Amalfitano's Bold Abduction

I think this is my favorite book of the series. It had it's twists and turns. I loved the way they weren't intimate right away. The build up was amazing.

Leitura leve, bonitinho, rápido. Nada muito profundo, bom para entreter num dia de chuva. HEA, no cliffhanger.
Possivelmente leria outros livros desta autora.

The hero seems a bit too smug and his motivation for abducting her doesn't make any sense to me but apparently he's rich and hot so I guess it turns out okay for her in the end. Skip this one.

Imagine my delight when I learned that one of my favorite all time authors was using my last name in her newest book. Imagine my chagrin to discover that she did not use it as a surname but as an adjective. Now, I don't speak Italian, I've never been to Italy, but my grandpop Amalfitano sure gave me the impression that it was a surname and only a surname meaning "the man from Amalfi." OTOH, Ms. Blake has actually been to Italy and I have not. It dies puzzle he, though, that she used "Amalfitano" because the hero was clearly from Positano and not Amalfi and for me it would have made more sense to entitle the book "The Positano's Bold Abduction."

Also have to admit, I think she skated with this story. Read to me more as if she was using stuff she gathered in her visit to Italy rather than having the story be her main objective. Most of her books have a far more complex plot and I missed that in this novel. I also thought her portrayal of the sister and her husband was cliche. Yes, we Italians are an emotional, passionate people but the main way we communicate is not yelling at each other.

The many knitting references delighted me as I am a knitter. Knitting is often mentioned in Ms. Blake's books but this one had more knitting content. I also love cats and was glad that a cat was a main character. Ms. Blake must also love cats and obviously has spent a goodly amount of time observing them.

I found hard to believe that the heroine fell in love with her abductor in such a short period of time. He kidnapped her. She's a cop from a family of cops. How is that she does not see her kidnapping as a crime? I am also getting tired of young billionaires as heroes. That is really getting to be trite.

But still and all, Jennifer Blake is one of my favorite authors and she has given me many hours of reading enjoyment and I have read every thing she has written several times. I'll be reading this one also.

Eh, kind of lame. Too many plot holes

We meet Dana who is on her way to her vacation with her friends in Italy. She gets caught in a traffic jam. Cue in Andrea, some wealthy Italian billionaire with his sisters prized cat. Her car gets pushed off a cliff and Andrea sweeps her away to his private island. It makes no sense. She loses her car, luggage and passport. Not once did they try to retrieve them. Two days into the trip, people try and steal the cat. They end up falling in love. Andrea brings her friends from their rental to his private island and it ends with them having sex on his private beach.

I think I summed up the book quite nicely. But it still has a ton of unanswered questions. Why was t her stuff retrieved? What about her family if she is so close them? Why didn't her friends come looking for her right away. Not my favorite book. It could have been written a little better.

She's a police officer when she's at home. When she's on vacation, she's just another uptight, American bimbo looking for a romance with a rich Italian playboy. And she finds one. She finds a well bred cat with family problems, too. The story was okay as long as you could suspend your need for some reality. Even a 5 year old wouldn't get into the playboy's helicopter with him on the flimsy excuses this guy came up with. They'd be screaming for the polizia and not budging until they saw some identification! She seems to have none of the instincts of a police officer at all. The love story was pretty and the sex was good. But the reality part of it was missing. Sorry, but I think I'll give the first two books in this series a miss. Book #1 is The Tuscan's Revenge Wedding and Book #2 is The Venetian's Daring Seduction.

I acquired this from BookBub (Amazon) for nothing. I use the GoodReads Summary of the book, but the Review of the book is fully my own opinion.

A handsome Italian—Andrea Tonello—and a cat named Guaio turn Dana Marsden’s vacation upside down on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. When danger arises, he knows where she belongs—in his arms on a private island surrounded by the rich blue Mediterranean sea and warm, golden sunshine. Mysterious abductions…love and sultry sea breezes…passion to light the night…who could ask for more?

The Amalfitano's Bold Abduction by Jennifer Blake is a hot read when you want to escape to the islands and discover a love that lasts forever.

Andrea and Dana. I had numerous problems with this book. First, his name is Andrea - kept thinking it was the woman. Andre would have been better. Dana is a policewoman on vacation in Italy. She gets in an accident and he sweeps her away to his private island for her protection. The whole storyline with the cat was just STUPID! His sister and brother-in-law? So immature.

My heart

Just because she is a cop. Does not mean she can't have a arrogant man try to take care of her. She finds she can't do without that. She also realizes that she has found her home by the sea with him. And doesn't ever want to loose it all.

I don't care as much as others about reality in a book. I read to escape it. I would enjoy being on a private island with a hot, sexy man. I thought this book was a fun read. For me, it was five stars all the way.

Good story rushed ending

I really liked the story but the ending was so rushed. I would have liked an epilogue to let me know how things turned out.
