Werewolves of Wallstreet #1

Big Bad Boss: Midnight

Rate this book
RULE #1 OF WALL STREET: DON'T FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR BILLIONAIRE BOSS.

I hate my new assistant.

I’ve hated them all, but this is a different kind of hate. Her presence is torture.
She’s whip-smart, overly-capable, the only employee of mine who dares talk back.
And the little human smells like temptation. The worst kind.
She dresses to kill, and I’m in danger of dying.
One of these days, she’s going to push me too far.
And she’s completely unprepared for what happens
when you unleash an alpha wolf on his quarry.

I hate my boss.
The Wall Street tycoon is a jerk. A world-class alpha-hole.
Devastatingly handsome but terribly flawed. He goes through assistants like I go through vanilla lattes, and I need this job. But I went to school with bullies like him, so I’m not afraid.
I hate my attraction to him. How sparks fly when we spar.
The way he barks orders and dresses me down.
I hate how I fantasize about him during and after work hours.
He’s danger wrapped up in power,
and he’s getting harder and harder to resist.

Midnight is book one in the Big Bad Boss trilogy. It features a billionaire boss-hole wolf shifter and his freakishly smart assistant.

I'm so excited about this book's release! Here's a little sneak peek:

“Your water, sir.” I extend the bottle, right as the heel of my stiletto catches on a snag in the carpet. Instead of handing my boss his water, I trip and go flying, straight into him.

He catches my forearms and steadies me on my feet. His hands are large and warm, guiding me. He’s not wearing cologne–cologne is banned from the premises–but the clean hit of his masculine scent is like a shot of whiskey to my senses.

Of all the reasons to be fired, it’s going to be for my clumsiness. I should have seen that coming. My prowess on heels is somewhat limited. To make matters worse, I didn’t properly re-screw the top of the water bottle. Water sloshed all over his white dress shirt.

Without thinking, I pat the sodden fabric as if I can blot my mistake away. My palms mold to hard muscle, and my brain fizzles out. There’s one rock solid ab, and another, and another. Wow. How many muscles is his stomach packing?

“Madison.” A gravelly voice snaps me out of my daze. Brick Blackthroat is staring at me, an unreadable expression in his dark brown eyes.
Holy shit, I am groping my boss.

I snatch my hand back. “Excuse me. Sir.” All the blood in my body is rushing to my face. “I’ll get you some towels. And a change of clothes.” I race out of his office and head to the closet by the restroom where a number of freshly dry-cleaned suits are hanging. Indira is glowering at the computer screen, whipping the requested report into shape, and doesn’t notice my scramble.
I open the closet, and Blackthroat’s scent hits me. Once again, the fresh, woodsy fragrance scrambles my senses, and I flashback to the moment when Blackthroat caught me. The strength in his arms. The stone slab of his abs.

Get it together.
I grit my teeth and grab a suit bag. I’ve fucked up. And on day two, no less. I’m about to join the freshly fired Mr. Burgess of Tech Acquisitions in his walk of shame out of the building. Bile churns in my stomach.

The door to Blackthroat’s office is cracked open. This time, I don’t knock. “Sir, I found your–”
He turns from the window, his shoulders blocking out the sun.
Oh, damn.

Gone is my billionaire boss. In his place is a cut, shirtless god. With his heavily-muscled chest glistening from his impromptu baptism, he looks like a boxing champ about to weigh in. I knew he was well-built under the suit, but this is ridiculous. Forget a six-pack, he’s packing a twelve-pack, at least. Which is impossible, but there it is. A real live anatomy lesson, and I want to study it until I get an A plus.

2.5 stars!

Big Bad Boss Midnight pissed me the hell off through the whole story. Brick was a complete asshole and not in a good way to be honest. That wolf needs to grovel. Trust me, I love an alphahole but he missed the mark. Madi was wonderful but despite her being strong and fierce, she was a doormat when it came to Brick and that contrast didn’t work for me.

The steam was definitely a slow burn and there really wasn’t much. Their steamy encounters felt hollow because Brick was so adamant Madi can never be his. Brick is supposed to be this badass shifter and he lets others dictate his decisions and alter his emotions. Madi is apparently just fine with being used even when she knows she’s getting the shit end of the stick. Their relationship didn’t give me warm fuzzies at any point and I wanted way more for them.

This ends on a cliffhanger that felt cruel and I don’t think I’d read the second book if my curiosity wasn’t peaked about where their story is going.

That cliffhanger 😭

I didn’t know going in this was a trilogy, but all the same, it ended up being quite a fun read. I love Brick’s alpha-holeness and as much I liked Maddie, she got on my nerves a time or two with her stubbornness. Aside that, i really loved than as couple and enjoyed their bantering.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quick, fun and steamy paranormal office romance.

Excited for the next book 🤗

Easy fun read! Would probably give 3.5 ✨️ but rounding up to 4! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun werewolf book.

Towards the end of the book, I was kind of ready for Brick to kick into protective alpha mode. I wanted to see him claim her and go all protective mode. I just personally don't love fated mate tropes where they refuse to accept that they're fated mates.

I really loved the FMC and how smart and sassy she was! She was definitely my favorite out of the two!!

I enjoyed the beginning a lot but it def got draggy in the last half. I’m looking forward to the angst that appears to be coming soon in book two but everything is feeling very predictable.

I didn’t know that this couple was going to have more than one book; I’ve never read a Renee Rose book like that before. The price point was pretty high considering the amount of pages and I can’t help but feel like this is a money grab. I’ll wait for Libby to get the other books.

I loved her! She‘s smart, confident and talks back to Brick. Sometimes her sayings were so funny and Bricks reaction was hilarious. She is a loyal and lovely person and does her job with a lot of passion.

❥ 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌
Most of the time he is an asshole, a typical Wall Street boss with responsibility over his family and company. There are a lot of family secrets and drama that Brick has to take care of.

I‘m thankful that I got an ARC of this book! <3
It was an enjoyable and entertaining read. The writing style is fluent and everything is easy to understand.
Brick and Madison are likeable and well built characters. They have great tension and the smut was hot. I liked the way Madi stood her ground against Brick and that she wasn‘t a woman who let him roll all over her. Brick was very possessive of her - that was hot. I don't understand why he didn't delve more into his wolf's obsession with Madison. His thoughts were always "I need a strong she-wolf as a mate and Madi is a human", like bruuuh just THINK a little bit maybe everything will make sense in the end.
I would have loved to read more of Brick in wolf form and I can’t wait to get Madis reaction!
The side characters were mostly likeable too except of Bricks cousin: Why does he hate humans so much?
The plot was entertaining most of the time. The little word battles from Brick and Madi were my highlights.
The end was mean and I am so curious what will happen in the next books! I hope Brick let‘s his feelings for Madi develop and that he doesn‘t make a stupid decision.
Overall this was a good read, I would definitely recommend if you like CEO and shifter romances.

Madi’s boss is the ultimate alphahole. Working for him is a challenge and Madi is more than equipped. Brick cannot will not fall for a human, but why does his wolf have other plans? Mild spice with characters that you can really get into! This is a series I am excited to continue!

Quick Summary: A "Bad Boy" shifter romance

My Review: Big Bad Boss: Midnight by Renee Rose and Lee Savino is book one in the Big Bad Boss trilogy.

About the Book: A human woman with a secret past of sorts gets a job on Wall Street. Her job is as an assistant to a CEO, who just so happens to be a shifter and the alpha of his pack.

From their initial meeting, Madison Evans and Brick Blackthroat have an intense awareness of each other. They are both able to keep matters purely professional until... Now, the closer they get, the more he begrudgingly realizes they should be apart. Why, then, does his wolf desire to claim her as his mate?

My Final Say: Book one in this fast-paced, unputdownable paranormal romance was sensational! Every element was captivating. The character chemistry between Madi and Brick, the wolf circle, the family drama, the mysterious death of the patriarch, the brewing conflict between the two rival packs, the unidentified spy who is a mole - all of it made for great reading. What I know for sure is that there is more than meets the eye to this shifter novel, and I am well and truly hooked.

Other: That ending!!! When can I expect the next installment? Please and thank you.

I laughed, I cried, I loved it…
The Werewolves of Wall Street series is great. Wonderful story, great dialog, and likable characters. This is book one in the trilogy so fair warning; this book ends on a cliffhanger. Madison is hired as Brick Blackthroat’s assistant and quickly becomes indispensable. Expectations are high for the alpha of his pack, and they don’t include Madi… I received a free copy of this book. This was a fun and steamy introduction to a new PNR author for me. The plot develops slowly and this installment ends in a cliffhanger, but the characters are fun and witty and the style of the writing is easy to follow. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

It's been a while since a read a Werewolf book and this did not disappoint, I wasn't able to put it down because it's sooo good!!!.
The book is about a human woman that works as a assistant to the CEO but he's an alpha.
First they keep everything professional but then they start getting close and things get intense.
I liked the chemistry of the characters and that it was fast and how everything evolve.

Than you Netgalley for letting me read the ARC For an honest opinion.

3.755/5

WARNING: IT HAS AN OPEN ENDING. IT'S APPARENTLY THE FIRST BOOK IN THE SERIES AND THE CONTINUATION SHOULD BE ABOUT THE SAME COUPLE.

If I knew if was the first book in the series I wouldn't have read it until the entire series was complete. I HATE open endings. The original rating would be 4.25, but because of the open ending I'm going with 3.75 instead.

Ughhh there are so many loose ends! I really thought it was standalone - while the description says that it's the book one of trilogy, I expected the rest of the books to follow other pack members like Billy or Nickel. I will read the rest of the series once it comes out because I'm intrigued now, but I'm not excited much.

For the first ever shifter book I've read - it's interesting and I like the premise though I'd rather it be standalone. I was yelling at Brick: SHE'S YOUR MATE, IDIOT! and was frustrated that he didn't want to acknowledge it, and that she never learned the truth. Now I need the rest of the series.

I liked the characters and their relationship though I was really confused about why Madi is now "protected". Is the relationship with one's boss really illegal in America? In my country it's not illegal at all, you only need to inform HR about it. But their dynamics was great and I can't wait for the big reveal. Why did the enemy call Madi, did Brick really pay her brother's tuition, what's up with his mother? I really want to know.

Wow Brick and Madi make a scorching team! He’s the billionaire boss and she’s the whip smart assistant . As the Alpha leader of his pack Brick has created an unsolvable situation . He can’t get enough of her, but she’s human and completely off limits to him. Can’t wait for the next instalment of this trilogy to see what happens next.

This was a fantastic start to the new series! I loved, loved LOVED this book! Fantastic storytelling. Fast paced. The chemistry and banter between these two are top notch. This story will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions. Love, betrayal, discovery, drama, and a sprinkle of mystery. I foresee a possible plot twist in a future book. Questions I’d like answered: Is Madi truly human? Who is Madi’s bio dad? Why does Brick’s cousin hate human’s so much? And most importantly, Will Brick be able to overcome his “I need a strong Alpha Female by my side as my mate”.

Fans of Renee Rose and Lee Savino will devour this new series!

Madi: Ivy League College Grad in Sociology gets a job on Wall Street to help fund her brothers college Tuition.

Brick: Alpha werewolf millionaire who owns his own company

⭐️ Lover tension
⭐️ Badass & intelligent FMC
⭐️ Possessive MMC
⭐️ Billionaire boss
⭐️ Forbidden love
⭐️ Age Gap
⭐️ Ends on a cliffhanger

Brick dislikes humans, but when Madi comes to work as his assistant, he’s starting to change his mind. He’s obsessed with her smell, & his wolf makes it harder to stay away. He has an obligation to his Pack to mate a she-wolf, but his wolf & Madi make it harder & harder for him to NOT want her. Will he be able to stay away?

Okay, I devoured this book in a day! I was hooked from the beginning & couldn’t put it down. It was an easy read with just over 200 pages. I’ve always loved alpha werewolf books, and this one was *chefs kiss! I loved the tension between Brick & Madi. I loved that Madi was a badass FMC who didn’t cower or back down from Bricks Alphahole tendencies! Highly recommend reading & can’t wait for book 2!!

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

If you read “A Very Merry Alpha Solstice”, you got a glimpse. Madison needing the Administrative Assistant position with Moon Co. She is paying for her brother tuition. She is a Princeton graduate but the needed to stop her further studies to help him. Her job would be the Executive Assistant to the CEO, Brick Blackthroat of Moon Co. We learn a lot about each character. For Blacktroat he is cold, closed off and direct. This gives Made an opportunity to play a bit since she sees pushing Bricks buttons a bit of fun. Things do heat up with these two. Brick tries to resist but “windows” drives him to his limit. Now here is the issue he has. He is an alpha and can’t mate with a human. STOP! Did we not learn anything from “Alphas Temptation?” These packs and there narrow mindedness. Madi cracks me up. She is a force and doesn’t bow down to Brick. I love these two. I am not too happy about Billy and his attitude. I was happy to read about our favorite vampire as well. I am hoping we see Jackson and Garrett along the way. We have Vance and Nickel. We have a mole in the company and I think I know who it is. We have an issue with a competitor. And what is the deal with Brick’s mother. There has to be more to that story. The only thing that killed me is it just stopped. WHAT??!! To be continued. Brick has a decision to make and honestly I thought it was clear up nope. And now I have to wait for the next book. Renee/Lee you are killing me. I wanted a HEA but now we have to wait.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

OMG, I knew it was happening but I kept thinking, no she wouldn't do this to us. But yes, this story is not finished yet. Ok, now that you know, I'll say the book was great. I loved the story. I loved the MCs and their back and forth banter and their attraction to one another. These characters were really fleshed out and well-rounded so we as readers had a good idea of their motivation and histories. In addition, I liked the secondary characters and how they fit into the story and the "pack". The relationship between Madi and Brick was steamy and there are a lot of mysteries yet to be uncovered. I'm looking forward to the rest of the story.

If you are anything like me you are going to INHALE this book and be left a needy, craving mess that is desperate to continue Madi and Brick's story. This book starts off a seductive and captivating tale that offers a brilliant blend of juicy drama, intense emotion, breath stealing twists, nerve wracking tension, laugh out loud humor, temperature soaring steam and thrilling action. Sassy Madi is the absolute perfect match (and challenge!) for Brick and their chemistry and sparks are PURE FIRE!!! Your heart definitely gets a workout and that cliffy!!?? More please!!

the way I just screamed it’s not a stand-alone as I was cleaning is unhealthy because like why? why why and why?

sometimes I pick audiobooks simply based on vibes. this was not a book I wanted to read but I’m a sucker for boss/employee and wanted a little shifter moment. Was it interesting? sure. Was it hot? oh yeah. Was it a masterpiece? far from it.

Boss/employee relationship, the boss is an alpha and the employee is a human who knows nothing of shifters. There was good possessive moments and the back and forth was enough to make me like this. I really don’t have more thoughts.

I went into this one not knowing how I'd feel about it, but quickly came to love these characters. Brick has a gruff exterior but is a Teddy Bear (wolf plushie?) for Madi. The werewolf on Wallstreet twist is pretty unique from there werewolf books I've read and I found it really intriguing.

It's on the slow burn side of things, but once things get rolling they don't let up. The end is a cliffhanger that has me wanting to dive into the next book immediately to see what happens next. It's a romance so we all know the HEA is coming but I'm excited for the road they take to get there!

I loved the story. but UGH! CLIFFHANGER!!

I totally loved this story. I was pulled right into it. I read it because of the author. She’s a favorite . BUT,.
I would not have read it if I knew there was a cliffhanger ending. I bought it because of the author. I will NOT be buying the second one because I felt fooled with this story. PLEASE AUTHORS! If your book has a cliffhanger? Say so up front. Otherwise it really ticks off a lot of people .

DNF if I wanted to read leftist dribble I would read The Wall Street journal or the New York times. I didn't even make it past the second chapter when I saw a spiel about how bad Wall Street is and that the main female character and her buddy went to occupy Wall street, protest the new president, hating on Wall Street oh and the best one her friend has a degree in women's studies give me a break. I read books to get away from what's happening in the world now I don't need leftist crap shove down my throat. I was so looking forward to reading this series but I'll now avoid this author like the plague.

I loved the strong charisma of the female character and how she didn't let herself be intimidated. The way both characters couldn't resist each other but still continued to challenge each other everyday ia mesmerizing. However, many things remained unanswered and I can't wait for the second book.

I liked this til it ended in a cliffhanger. I choose this book from some free ones to meet a reading challenge. I have deducted that all of them are part of a series and you will have to go buy the next book. I should have known better especially when Renee Rose is part of the deal.
