When Anna Benoit wishes she’s married to the enigmatic owner of the chateau she cleans, she wakes up in a topsy-turvy world where she’s Max Barone’s wife.

Anna is a romantic who believes in The One and Love at First Sight. Why? Because it happened to her. The second she saw Max Barone she fell desperately, hopelessly in love.

It didn’t matter that they were from completely different worlds—he owned a jewelry empire, she cleaned houses—love had no barriers.

Except one.

Max didn’t know Anna’s name, much less that she existed.

Then one day Anna made a wish. Suddenly she was in an upside down world where everyone believed she and Max had been happily married for years. It was passion. It was romance. It was love. It was everything she’d ever wished for.

Wasn’t it?

Anna & Max
Anna has been cleaning Max’s house for years when she makes a wish for them to be married. She never thinks her wish will come true, so why is she waking up in an unfamiliar bed and people are calling her Mrs. Barone? And how is it their 7 year anniversary?

The author takes us on a whirlwind adventure of how they got to where they are today. Is this really their life or is it all a dream?

Gah, Max! He starts off rude, but then you’ll fall in love with him. Not quite love at first sight like for Anna, but slowly his sweetness will win you over. He’s a charmer for sure.

Anna was really sweet and did the right things when it mattered most. One of those people that cannot in good conscience tell a lie.

Overall, I didn’t quite love it as much as I did Fated, but it’s a close 2nd.

Series notes:
We first met Max in Fated, so it might be a good idea to read that one, but I suppose this would be fine as a standalone. Books 1 & 2 characters are not involved here.

Narration notes:
Mostly told by Amanda, who did a lovely job. Will did perfectly fine for his 2 chapters.

Thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for an early access for this book!
I needed a break from fantasy and this was exactly what I needed!

This book gave me romcoms from the 90-20s vibes and it really delivered for me. It’s now my 2nd favourite romance of 2024!

What would you do if your biggest wishes were suddenly granted? But deep down - you know that’s not what the other person would want. Would you give it all back? Anna is a cleaning lady and she wishes she’d be married to the owner of this house she’s cleaning. She has loved him in silence all those years… but he’s never noticed her.

I read this book in one sitting. I ignored all of my plans for the day to read this 🤭.

The idea was original, the characters were absolutely loveable and I was hooked on the prose!

*Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an E-Arc in exchange for an honest review!*

3.75 out of 5 stars!

I had no idea what to expect from this book when I first started reading this, but it sure turned out being a very pleasant read. The plot, the short chapters, the characters were all too enjoyable.
However, this was much steamier that I had anticipated.

My only complaint about this book is that this book had some tiny plot holes, but overall it was so very adorable and enjoyable to read.

Can't wait to pick up the previous books very soon.

I wanted to read book 1 of this series from the minute it was released, but sadly I never found the opportunity to. Then I got the chance to read an arc for the Ghosted series' newest soon to be release and I was over the moon.

I’m so excited to pick up this one very very soon!

The premise of this book is absolutely enchanting, and the narration only added to its charm. Anna Benoit and Max Barone’s magical, whirlwind romance had me hooked from start to finish. Anna, a house cleaner who has long harbored feelings for Max, makes a wish and wakes up as his wife, setting the stage for a fun and heartwarming story. Anna’s sweetness and honesty shine through, while Max, initially cold, slowly becomes more likable.

Despite the overall cuteness of the story and engaging characters, I found myself a bit let down by how quickly the romance developed. The insta-love aspect, one of my least favorite tropes, felt like it rushed what could have been a wonderful build-up of chemistry between Anna and Max. I was craving more depth and connection in their interactions, which would have added to the emotional impact.

That said, the book still delivered on entertainment, and I adored how it explored the idea of getting what you wish for, only to question what love really means. The magical realism added a whimsical touch, and the deeper questions kept the story from feeling too predictable.

If you're a fan of lighthearted, magical romances and don't mind an insta-love vibe, this audiobook is an enjoyable and engaging escape!

Thank you Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC & Net Galley for providing this audiobook for review consideration. all opinions are my own.

this book, like the others, i really enjoyed!! my love for magical realism is growing by the minute. let’s get into the review shall we?

💎🩵📖🪄💍🪞🫧🍨

wished is a story about a girl anna benoit who cleans max barone’s chateau for a living. in the years she’s spent working for him, she fell in love. the only issue- he barely notices she exists. that is, until anna makes a wish on a magical necklace that they would be married.

characters
anna benoit:
I really loved her character! one thing I didn’t like was how insta-lovey she could be at times but once I got past that, she really grew on me! she was such a sweetheart <3

max barone:
it was kinda weird reading about him after his part in fated but honestly, I’m so happy for him :,) he finally met the one.
he was so grouchy in the beginning of the book and at the end he’s such a softie. i actually love him sm😭 sarah ready writes the BEST book bfs. first henry, then aaron, now max bruh. I’ll take them all .

plot
i really enjoyed the plot, as with the other books from this series. the only thing I didn’t like, as mentioned earlier, was the insta-lovey feel at the beginning of the book. (hence the .25 off the rating). but later in the book it definitely got better!

overall
this was a good book! not my favorite from the series so far (one left to go!) but still an enjoyable romance. the montmartre scene was so so cute :,) i would recommend this one! & the rest of the series <3

a big thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. all opinions here are my own!

Bringing my NetGalley account back to life from the graveyard (It was never really alive and I have no idea how this works) for this book! Thanks to the ARC being available there in exchange for a review.

This book is about the best friend from the 3rd book, Max. I thought it's be about the brother but I'm happy our guy also got his story too. I was really feeling it at first, and there were some amazing moments.

We have our FMC, Anna, who is working as a cleaning lady at Max's house (who runs a family jewelry company). There is a misunderstanding where Anna gets fired and is down on her luck. In a magical turn of events, they end up as a married couple.

I really appreciated that the power dynamics in the marriage were about equal, both were working together and aware of what was happening. Later though that changed and I liked it less. I also didn't love how Max changed his approach quickly (whether that be intentional or not) as it made me mistrust him.

I enjoy Sara's writing and I look forward to the next one (hopefully it'll be about Fi's brother).

Some of my favorite lines:

“Thank you for getting lost with me.”
Max smiles over at me, setting his spoon down. “Maybe you were lost, but I knew where I was the entire time.”
“Oh.”
His eyes light and he leans close. “I was with you.”

“I see in him the boy who wasn’t given love, the man who turned from love, and the man who in Paris asked me to find him and tell him that love wasn’t anything to be afraid of. He trusted me to find him and love him and give him a choice in loving me.”

“... I want to know what it is to love you in every possible way. When you’re happy, when you’re not… when you’ve changed from who you are today and are someone new and the only thing I recognize is that I still love you. I want to be there for it all. In quiet love and passionate love and the kind of love that holds on even when everyone else would let go. I love you without reservation.”

I just finished Wished by Sarah Ready, and wow, what a ride! This was my very first Sarah Ready book, and even though I haven’t read the previous ones in the Ghosted series, you bet I’ll be picking them up soon! 😍 I listened to the audiobook, and it was such a delight! Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt nailed their performances. Also, a huge thanks to NetGalley, Sarah Ready, and Swift & Lewis Publishing for giving me an early look at this gem! 🙌 This gem releases on October 1, 2024, and I’m so glad I got to dive into it early!

✧ Magical realism 🪄
✧ Billionaire romance 💰
✧ Opposites attract 💗
✧ Insta-love 💋
✧ Wish fulfillment ✨
✧ Dream vs. reality 🌙
✧ Sweet heroine 💕

Okay, so the premise? Anna is a cleaner at Max’s chateau, and she’s been head over heels for him, like, forever. But there’s one tiny problem... Max doesn’t even know she exists. 😅 Then, Anna stumbles upon a magical necklace, makes a wish, and BOOM—she wakes up married to Max! Sounds like a dream come true, right? Not exactly! The world flips upside down, and Anna quickly realizes that not everything she wished for is as perfect as she imagined.

I absolutely adored Anna's character! She’s sweet, hopeful, and maybe a little too quick to fall in love, but I can’t blame her—it’s Max we’re talking about! Max starts off as this cold and distant figure, but by the end? TOTAL heart-stealer. 😍 The romance had its steamy moments & it was balanced with so much heart and magical realism that kept me completely hooked.

The only reason this didn’t get a full 5 stars from me is that it does start with a bit of insta-love from Anna’s side. Even though her love for Max grows deeper and more real later on, the initial feelings felt rushed. I usually prefer a slow burn, but despite that, it didn’t take away from the charm of the book.

Overall, this was a feel-good, magical rollercoaster, and I enjoyed every minute of it! I can’t wait to dive into the earlier books, especially Fated, which introduces Max!

Wished is the fourth book in Sarah Ready’s recent magic-tinged contemporary series, titled Ghostedbut it can be read as a standalone that follows a pair of fresh MCs, who find love with the help of a little magic and fate.

This time around we’ve got an opposites-attract pairing between a lonely billionaire (Max) and his equally lonely house cleaner (Anna), which begins in true series-style with a life-changing wish for love and marriage made on a magical piece of ancestry jewellery.

I really liked Anna and Max. I felt their loneliness and longing for more in life quite acutely. They were both kind-hearted, unassuming sorts, coming from very different backgrounds (one rich, one poor), but fitting together effortlessly like two puzzle pieces meant-to-be.

The beginning of the story was a bit slow for me—perhaps even feeling a bit disjointed or disconnected to the rest of the story up until the point the wish kicked into gear. I was definitely relieved that the story played out the way it did , as it made for a deeper connection between the characters and lessened some of my worries about where the story would go.

Having met and adored Max as a secondary character in book three (Fated), I was eager to get to his story and meet his love match. I especially loved the easy way Max and Anna talked and got to know one another in the scenes after the initial wish was made. The Paris chapters, in particular, were a real delight. I relished in their exploration of the city of love and how it brought them closer together emotionally, and later physically.

The explicit scenes between these two were very nicely done, and quite frankly, smokin’ hot. If memory serves correctly, the sex scenes in the previous books were either super-brief/vaguely shown, or sometimes even fade-to-black—which was completely fine, but I certainly loved the way Max and Anna’s intimacy was explored on-page here, despite it being a bit inconsistent when considering the series norm.

Although none of the sequels in this series have quite matched my fondness of book one (Ghosted), I would definitely say I enjoyed Max and Anna’s story more than I did the middle two sequels, preferring the plot, the characters, the magical tones, and the romance stylings this time around to a greater degree.

My absolute favourite moment though—which convinced me to move this from a 3.5 star-rating to a solid 4—was one paragraph in the Max-POV epilogue, where he was telling his baby girl (swoon) all about his love for her mother and their friends (i.e. all the other couples in the series and their growing families), which I just found so heartwarming and romantic in its reaffirming of all the HEAs found and kept. It was a lovely way to wrap things up and it left me with a nice warm feeling of satisfaction for a series well-read.

Wished is a fun, romantic book full of magical realism, which means this has a lot of my favorite genres mixed together. While Wished is the fourth book in a series, I think it would work just fine as a standalone. I’ve now read or listened to books two, three, and four, and I absolutely want to go back and read book one!

Anna is working as a maid in Geneva, Switzerland. Her job includes cleaning the mansion of Max Barone, heir to a jewelry empire. (We meet Max in book three of this series, but you really don’t need to know about that.) As you might imagine, she’s pretty much invisible to Max, a young and handsome billionaire. She’s just the maid. But Anna is besotted with Max. One day she’s cleaning and makes a wish that she and Max were married and in love. She doesn’t realize that she made the wish while cleaning a gorgeous heirloom necklace that is reported to have magical powers. Nothing happens right away, but the next morning she wakes up in a luxurious bed and finds out that everyone in the household thinks she is Mrs. Barone and that she and Max have been married for seven years. And so begins the adventure.

Anna is faced with a dilemma - she knows it’s because of her wish, not what Max would really want. So what should she do? And can she even un-do her wish?

The story moves from Geneva to Paris and St. Tropez and back to Geneva, so we are treated to descriptions of some really beautiful and famous places.

Note: there are some explicit spicy scenes.

I wasn’t feeling well so instead of bouncing between the ebook and the audiobook, I mostly listened to the audiobook and that was an excellent choice. Most of the book is narrated by Amanda Ronconi, with the prologue and epilogue narrated by Will Watt.

Thank you to Swift & Lewis Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a review copy of this book and to listen to a review copy of this audiobook. All opinions are my own.

*Can be read as a standalone but best if read as a series.*

The incorporation of magical realism in the story was great. However, I found the romance to be rushed and unconvincing, and I struggled to connect with Max's character. I believe that further development of Max's character would have strengthened the story.

Overall, while the book was good, it didn't stand out as my favorite in the series, especially in comparison to the compelling story in book three.

***Thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Ready, and Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC for graciously sending me the audiobook to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.***

***AUDIO BOOK VERSION***
Wished is the fourth standalone book in the series by Sarah Ready and another fun and enjoyable listen.
We follow Anna, who's a cleaner with a huge crush on one of her clients, Max Barone. One day, she comes across a magical necklace and makes a wish that she was married to him. Then, she gets fired for being suspected of trying to steal it. The next morning, she awakens in his bed, in his home, and married to him (for the past 7 years, no less). As the pair genuinely fall in love, Anna faces a moral dilemma - does she correct her wish and go back to her normal life and risk losing the man of her dreams or stay in a dreamed up relationship that isn't really real?
This was such a sweet and fun listen, and i loved both the main characters from start to finish and enjoyed both narrators who narrated this book and brought it to life. Now I just need to find a magical necklace like this myself....

Wished by Sarah Ready
Ghosted series #4. Paranormal romance. Can be read as a stand-alone.
Anna Benoit fell in love at first sight. She’s always been a romantic and believes in helping others and being honest. Although she’s never really talked to Max Barone, she’s been cleaning his huge chateau for seven years and knows his nighttime beverage and book choices, knows his preferred tv shows, and lots of other minute details. When Anna finds a Genie type of “wishing” message on a necklace one day in Max’s home, she can’t help making a wish to be married to Max. She immediately takes it back, feeling guilty for pulling him into her fantasy. And then wakes up in his bed with everyone calling her Mrs Baron.
Happy ending? No, it’s not that easy.

🎧 I alternated between an ebook and an audiobook. For the audiobook, all but the prologue and epilogue are done by Amanda Ronconi, who does a fantastic job with the emotional highs and lows and keeping the reader engaged. There were specific voices for the two main characters as well as a few secondary voices. Will Watt performs the prologue and epilogue from Max’s POV and I found his low pitch difficult to understand and hear but for a few sentences that were extremely over modulated. I was glad I had an ebook version to refer to for those two short sections.

A few unexpected twists and continuations when I thought it was close to an ending.
Overall I loved the story and would recommend the audiobook knowing it will be from her POV for 98%.
Charming magic and romance. A few spicy scenes but most playing on the emotional honesty of the heart.

And just for fun because I liked the thought:
“Cleaning people’s homes is a bit like being a Genie. When they get home from work their house is clean, tidy and smells like fresh linens and lemons. And that is a bit like magic.”

I received a copy of this from NetGalley and publisher Swift & Lewis Publishing.

What a beautiful book.

As always Sarah Ready wove a beautiful love story with passion, family, angst and so much love.
This is also the spiciest book in the series.

Anna- who is sweet and honest to the fault is in love with Max who is only knows her in passing but never noticed her. So you know there is much pining in this book. So when there is an opportunity she makes a wish, which changes both of their lives.
Max was a lovable character.
I loved him in fated but loved him more here.

I enjoyed how the story unfolded. Just when I thought now everything will be ok, a new dilemma arises and with it new angst.

I adored the ending but it also broke my heart to say goodbye to these characters who lived in my mind and heart for so long now. But there is also peace in knowing that after so many hardships it’s time for them to live happily ever after.

Paris and French Rivera is depicted so beautifully in this book. Someday I wish to travel all the places and eat all the things mentioned in this book.

Absolutely recommended and pls start with my fav Ghosted.

Safe.

P.s The Max in love version is my favourite. The way he incorporated something special and hidden for her in his jewellery collection each year was so dreamy. That man you guys!

Audiobook Review

I wanted to check out what NetGalley’s audiobook app is like and picked “Wished” to do it with. The blurb sounded intriguing, and while I’d heard of the author, this was my first time reading (or in this case, listening to) her work. It was also my first introduction to the two narrators.

Since this is book 4 in a series, I wasn’t sure what to expect and was slightly worried, but I got lucky. For several reasons. The story is set in Switzerland—how unusual is that—and France. The plot had enough twists to keep me engaged, even when the story slowed down. The romance? At first, I wasn’t sure about it because I—just like the female lead—never could be sure what feelings were real. But the author included plenty of moments that were beautiful, heartfelt, and romantic. Enough to satisfy me. Be aware though, there are several spicy scenes. I could have done without the last one, but that’s just a personal preference. I’m sure other readers and listeners will think differently.

Most importantly, I loved the two narrators. Amanda Ronconi carries the story, gave it her all, and completely won me over. I loved all of her voices—male, female, old, young. She brought out the emotions of every character with such authenticity that I couldn’t help experiencing them myself. What a great pick, especially since she narrates most of the book.

Now, for fans of Will Watt, this might come as a disappointment—he only makes two guest appearances. Both were wonderful to listen to, though. Still, I wish the author had included more scenes from the male lead’s perspective so I could have enjoyed his performance longer (and it would have added another layer to the story too).

Overall, I’m really pleased with my choice. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for likable characters, picturesque settings, a touch of magic, and of course, two excellent voice actors.

✨ Story: 4 stars
✨ Narration: 5 stars

Magical realism at its finest. I thoroughly enjoyed this escape to Anna's wish to be married to her employer. As Max's housecleaner she has fantasies of the man she thinks he is by simply cleaning his home. I guess you could learn a lot about someone by entering the most private areas of their home. She really had an elaborate imagination, and it was fun to go along with her. I heard Max was going to make an appearance in this book and boy did he ever!

I highly recommend Wished if you enjoyed Fated (the only one I read from the Ghosted series). Romance, fantasy and magical realism.

I listened to Wished, and the narration was excellent. Amanda Ranconi captured Anna's whimsical personality and Max's persona. Will Watt as Max in the epilogue...ooolala!

Thanks to NetGalley and Swift and Lewis Publishing for an advance copy of the audio.

I love the way Sarah Ready writes, the way she describes moments, objects and places - I truly find myself fully immersed in the story.
Wished was no exception!

📖 Wished by Sarah Ready
📚 book 4 • Ghosted series
(can definitely be read as a standalone, though for a bit more of Max’s story, we do meet him in Fated)

⭐️ rating: 4.75/5
🌶️: open door, several scenes

💭 overall thoughts:
Anna has been cleaning billionaire Max’s chateau for years, and while he barely knows she exists, she fell in love at first sight.

Finding a magical necklace on his desk, she makes a wish to be married to him, he fires her thinking she stole it, and they wake up in this new “reality,” as husband and wife.

Before the wish, Anna felt she really knew Max, seeing how he lived, while he knows absolutely nothing about her. While working together to get back to their previous life, their connection grows deeper and deeper.

I loved how this novel showed that wishes aren’t always what they might seem, and how we may not even know what we’re meant for. What’s real in life, what matters, and what parts of life are what we make them.

My favorite in the series is still Fated, though I loved the whole thing!
I think it’s a complete series now, but I’d love to see more magical realism from Sarah 🥰

As with each of these books, there was a bit of a twist I didn’t see coming. I thought I had it figured out, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that I hadn’t 🙃

🎙 audio thoughts:
I don’t believe I’d heard either narrator before, and I think they both did a fantastic job! Amanda Ronconi did a wonderful job embodying Anna.
We only get 2 chapters from Will Watt (aka Max), but I loved the accent and tone to his voice.

read if you love:

🥹 insta love & pining (for her)

Thank you netgalley and Sarah ready for the audiobook arc in exchange for an honest review.

So this was adorable and such a pleasant listen.

Anna is a cleaner in a chateau and max is the owner of the chateau.
After is drawn to a box and read the inscription she makes a wish. After pining after Max for 3 years she wishes for him to love her.
He catches her with a necklace in her procession just as she’s finished wishing and accuses her of stealing. She’s fired and sent on her way home.
After getting completely drunk and falling asleep that night she wakes up to an unfamiliar bed and realises her wish came true. Completely confused she runs to find max who is also aware something isn’t quite right.

Both find out quickly not everything you wish for is all it’s cracked up to be and together they try to put things right. While also developing a relationship.

This was so cute I have had the Arcs for the previous ones and feel this has defo been the better one of them.

It made me smile and laugh
Doreen is my fave character everyone need a crazy neighbour, boss and friend like her.

Time of Death: 61 %

Now, the premise of this book was very interesting to me and I am someone who likes refreshing ideas when it comes to romance because it is such a popular genre, however, this book did fall very flat for me.

In terms of characters, Max was very annoying and rudeee, I know the girlys like the morally grey men but I just can't get behind men who are straight up rude. Anna was very sweet, not the most well rounded flushed out character, but none of them really are.

The plot had a bit of weird pacing to it? Idk if I liked that we start out in Max’s pov when she’s already his wife it felt weird and rushed, and then we never return to his point of view.

It feels like the authors writing is striving towards micro detailing everything but the relationship — Max has spent 30 % of this book pining over another woman EW and she's still so down bad for him. And then all of a sudden his attitude just SHIFTS, and i feel like this shift would’ve been better had we gotten his perspective in the book.

What I DID love was the way you can tell as a reader, that the author has an obvious love and appreciation for architecture. Her descriptions were very beautiful and detailed but not in an excessive way.

Ultimately, if I had finished this book I probably would've given it 2 stars because there were a couple things I liked, just not enough to finish the book.

Self note

Not for me

The H was pining over another woman for 30% of the book
(Another review mentioned that it was clarified that the H loved OW as a friend and that he proposed to her because he knew that he would never feel anything romantic for her)

”What would you wish for.”
“You.”

We’ve loved this series! After finishing Wished this week, we’ve vowed to re-read the entire series at some point, to once again experience each story. We’ve loved them all that much! Sarah Ready captured our imaginations and hearts in each book.

Sarah Ready can whisk us away and transport us to incredible destinations. Whether it’s Geneva, Paris or Saint Tropez, she makes us feel as though we’re there. Tasting the delicacies and taking in the scenery, thanks to her beautifully vivid storytelling.

’Love, even in small portions, is enough to defeat an ocean of hate.’

The Ghosted Series comprises of four books - Ghosted, Switched, Fated, culminating in the final book, Wished. Whilst each book is a standalone focusing on different couples, each book shares a thread that runs through each book, and for that reason, and for reading enjoyment, we’d recommend reading as a series.

”What’s wrong with wishing for love?”

We came to know Max Barone, in Fated. We won’t give too much away about his story in that book as we don’t want to give away any spoilers for Fated (Book 3), but we really felt for this man. He was a stern man, somewhat closed off emotionally, who believed passion and loved were not in his future.

”Did you ever think about how the worst thing imaginable is a life lived without love?”

Anna Benoit worked as a housekeeper for Max, who had loved him from afar. She felt his loneliness and believed he could love, if only, given the chance.

”All these years, you were an essential part of my life, and I didn’t even know it.”

A wish would see them enter an alternate reality and timeline where their lives are very different to those in the ‘real world’. In Wished, we are once again asked to suspend reality, open our hearts and lose ourselves to the beauty of Sarah Ready’s words, and we did just that. Talk about being rewarded! The beauty of this story and Anna and Max’s relationship stole our hearts. The way this author ties a story together is magical!

’I once said that looking at Max was like looking at something so beautiful it hurt. I think if I looked at him now, it would break me.’

This is a series we’ll always hold close to our hearts. What a way to finish! We loved it!

"Sometimes you run across something so beautiful that you can't looking at it. It's as if the beauty tears at something inside you. The beauty is so astounding, so shattering, that you have to look away."

"I was lonely--I see that now. I was scared to ask for love. And like my mom said, I was also scared I didn't deserve it."

What if you made a wish and it suddenly came true? What could possibly go wrong?

Finding herself in an alternate reality, where she's married to the man of her dreams, but it's not real. Anna and Max embark on an unforgettable journey as they try to undo the impossible. Along the way, they find something they never thought possible, a deep and powerful love.

Wow. Wow. Wow. I did not see this book coming at all. This is one of those books that consumes you instantly and leaves you with all the feels. And that's why it has to be on my list of top reads for 2024!

Wished is unlike any story I've read this year and will leave you believing in wishes and the forever kind of love. This story is well written and sexy with a dash of magic. The characters are real and beautifully flawed and so easy to connect with.

The angst, longing, and heartbreak will tug at your heart strings. You will feel as though you are experiencing Anna's journey right along with her, and for once, I'm not mad that this story only had Anna's pov.

Wished is the kind of story you can't help but devour no matter how much you wish to savor it. I loved every aspect of this story; from Anna making her wish to discover that none of it was real. I loved the heartache and longing. Anna's journey of finding love and happiness hit me deep in my heart and had me wishing she'd find her happily ever after.

Wished is the first book I've read by author Sarah Ready, and I'm kicking myself for not reading her books sooner. If you're looking for an unforgettable romance with a dash of magic, you won't want to miss Wished.

🇺🇸I’m completely in love with this entire series, and Sarah Ready’s writing has captured my heart with every book with her magic.

Wished was the perfect way to bring it all to a close—so soft, sweet, and full of happiness. It felt like the perfect conclusion to a journey I’ve cherished from the very beginning.

The characters, their love stories, and the hope woven throughout made this an unforgettable read. And then the author has this very special gift of breaking my heart into a thousand small pieces before reaching the long-awaited happy ending.

If I had to rank the books, my favorite remains book 1 Ghosted, followed closely by book 3 Fated, then book 4 Wished, and finally book 2 Switched. Each one had something special, but Wished truly tied everything together beautifully.

I loved every moment of this series, and this final book left me with a warm, satisfied feeling. Absolutely loved it!

This was a very fun, creative, and witty story that was excellently narrated by Amanda Ronconi! This can be read/listened to as a standalone and will not disappoint. I thank Swift and Lewis Publishing for the opportunity to listen to and review this fun audiobook.

What do you do when you fall in love at first sight with a man who doesn’t know you even exist? Obviously, you find an enchanted necklace and wish that you were married and that he was in love with you back. Then when this enchanted necklace actually grants your wish, you try and figure out how to get life back to the way it was so that the man can choose you himself and not be trapped unaware.

This is book number four in the Ghosted series. These books can be read as standalones. I had a good time with this book. Nothing happened the way you thought it was going to happen. The romance and banter between the main characters is written very well. Overall, a very solid read as I have come to expect from Sarah Ready.

Thank you to Netgalley and publishers for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

After reading and loving the 3rd book in this series, Fated, I was lucky enough to be gifted with the eARC of this book, which is the 4th in this series. I absolutely BINGED this book any second I was able to sit down and read it.

Anna was a sweet FMC, who you just find yourself rooting for. She has been in love with her boss for three years, ever since she first met him, and ends up heartbroken after she is found to have stolen a necklace and she gets fired. But here's the catch, it's a magic necklace that grants wishes, and Anna never stole it, but she did end up making a wish.

At first, I hated Max. He was just very unlikeable and had a terrible personality. But as the book went on, I started to like him as his personality evolved and he was no longer acting like a stuck up dork.

I loved the idea of a magic necklace that allows people to make a wish to get what they want and the execution of that concept in this book was fantastic. I do have one complaint and that is that the relationship between Anna and Max escalated pretty fast. HOWEVER, it isn't that big of an issue to me because Anna loved him before the wish, and Max has the memories of the marriage, which included several years worth of love for the two of them, which affected how he felt about Anna.

Thank you to Sarah Ready, Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC, and NetGalley for the eARC of this book. This is my honest review.

thank you so much to netgalley for gifting me an early copy of the audiobook! all opinions are my own!

someone please explain to me why i became so addicted to this series even tho i haven't started it from book one 😂😂
i was super excited to read about Max's story after reading about him in book 3 and knowing i needed him to be happy. and oh my goodness, this book delivered! he kept his coolness while trying to figure out why would a girl who cleaned his house for three years wished to be married to him 😍 her point of view was amazing, i loved how the story changed and the small detail that it was Max who remembered most of their "love story", but whaaaaat omg when the plot thickened and i started to get anxious as to how this would get resolved 😱😱 their flaws were there and so was their wish to be loved, and i love how they both treated love as something super different but similar at the same time. it made me gasp and yell and swoon, exactly what i wanted. my only complain was the fast pace but that didn't make me like it less.
both narrators did an excellent job, and after hearing the male narrator i wish Max would've had a POV as well. i'm so in love with this series and now probably would be a good time to read the first two books 😉😂

This series is just so sweet. I've enjoyed each book, they're so magical. But not too magical as to be labeled fantasy. And so whimsical. Each book can really be read on their own, but it's sweeter when we get to know all of these people who've been touched by magic.

Anna Benoit is a sweetheart. She takes care of her mother and sister and her crazy neighbor/boss Dorene. She's also madly in love with Max Barone. Problem is that he has no idea who she is. Even though she's known him for years and cleans his house. He couldn't even pick her out if a line up. When some damning evidence brings his attention to her it's definitely not love he feels. It's anger.

Anna herself has no idea how the situation happened but she's heartbroken when Max now knows who she is but he wants her gone.

When she wakes up though, it's not gone from Max's life. She's in his house. With people calling her Mrs Barone. Max has no idea how this happened. But Anna does.

Life however slowly bleeds together with this new reality. The new reality is beautiful. But not real. What happens when you get what you want but you know it's not the truth?

Remember though, Anna is a sweetheart. And so, so honest. There were times when I was like... does Max even deserve her?

Like I said before it's so whimsical. And to get a glimpse of the love that you deserve but to know it's all wished? Heartbreaking. Would you do the right thing? Or live in a made up world?

I thought this was a really cute book. There was just enough magical realism for me. This was my second book in the Ghosted series, and now I have to go back and read the two books I missed. This storyline was unique and entertaining. This was a quick read, and the two main characters fell for each other quickly with some assistance (wink, wink). The writing was so well done with descriptions that made me feel I was in the setting with the characters. The spicy scenes were well done, and I enjoyed the journey to true love that this book took me on!

The narration by Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt is chef's kiss! They both did a great job.

Thank you NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Anna Benoit has been in love with Max Barone for years now. The problem? Max seems to have no idea that she exists. So when Anna wakes up and appears to suddenly be Max’s wife, she realizes that her world has been flip on its head. The real kicker? Max has also woken up in the same topsy turvy world as Anna, and also doesn’t remember their last seven years of marriage.

This audiobook was such a fun listen. I knew I was going to enjoy the book, as I had also listened to Sarah Ready’s book ‘Switched’ and liked the types of stories she tells. This book has an interesting focus on the multiverse and wishes, bringing a touch of magical realism to the book and answering the question of ‘what could have been?’. I loved the parts of Max’s POV, and the chemistry between our two main characters was absolutely electric!

I recommend this book for lovers of magical realism, passionate love and stories about hopeless romantics.

Tropes in this story:
✨Wealthy/not wealthy couple
✨Love at first sight
✨Forced proximity
✨Magical realism
✨Romantic European setting

I received an Advanced Listening Copy of this book via NetGalley, but my review is all my own.
