Nina started writing her own stories in elementary school but quickly grew distracted when she finished school and moved on to non-profit work with recovering drug addicts. There she worked with people from every walk of life from privileged neighborhoods to the shanty towns of urban and rural South Africa.

One day she met a real-life romantic hero. She instantly married her fellow bibliophile and moved to the USA where she enjoyed a career as a sales coaching executive at an Inc 500 company. She lives with her husband on the Florida Gulf Coast.

Nina believes in kindness and the indomitable power of the human spirit. She is fascinated by the amazing, funny people she has met across the world who dared to change their lives. She likes to tell mischievous tales of life-changing decisions and character transformations while drinking excellent coffee and avoiding cookies.

A steamy story. Confusingly this is book 3 in one series and book 8 in another. Having g read the earlier books for me it was the continuing story of tracing the murderer. Whilst in earlier books Trafford’s demeanour seemed amusing in this book I found him harder to like. He seemed very self centred, and I found Audrey’s acceptance of his apology a bit too ‘simple’. She is an intelligent lady - I think she would have wanted more proof of a genuine change.
A couple of oddities were the reference to Lord and Lady Stirling as Snarling and Smiling. This would have been fine in conversation, but as it was also in narrative without obvious explanation at the beginning I was going g back and forth wondering if it’s a typo/ editing error. Also Audrey goes off to read the book on Casanova but we do not really learn what she gained from this as Trafford and she had ‘made up’ so I am not sure what value it added. Finally it was a shame we do not hear in this book what Lady Astley says about the marriage. It would be good to see her have a come uppance, and with Trafford’s powerful friends that could have been good. Maybe it will occur in the next book of this series? I do hope so. I do also wonder why Audrey was being placed in Lady Astley’s care when Lord Stirling obviously did not like her. Yes Lady Hay’s and probably quite a number of other Ladies had left Town, but I am sure Lord Stirling must have known others?
Despite these points I did like reading the story, and that is the purpose of a book after all, hence my score. I shall move into the next book.

Just okay

As another tale within the Inconvenient Scandals series, Lord Trafford's Folly was a good story, with an unlikable hero.

Although I liked the heroine, I never did like the “hero”. The supporting characters did their job, but the lead male character was too annoyingly weak to be likable.

In addition to the unlikable hero, the author's over abundant use of angst filled thoughts and indecision slowed the pace down to a crawl. This book really needed a no-nonsense editor.

Content 411: In addition to mild secular and religious swearing, this book also contains several detailed sexually intimate scenes.

Disclosure: I received this book from BookSirens. I voluntarily read this book, and this is my honest review.

Lord Julius Trafford is heir to an earl. With nothing else to amuse himself with he promises his friends help in solving a murder. He gets into trouble when he drags his father's attractive ward Audrey into what is now a dangerous situation. Together, they are forced on the run, and Trafford must navigate the perils that befall them.
Miss Audrey Gideon cares forJulius when he is attacked by a murderous villain. As they make their escape in search of safety, Julius displays his bravery and grit and Audrey sees there is more him than meets the eye.
She likes what she discovers and so they begin their journey towards a HEA. If suspense and steam are your thing don’t miss this engaging tale!

Lord Julius Trafford is helping his friends solve a murder. But in the process, he is attacked and stabbed. He is saved by his father’s ward, Audrey Gideon and they are forced to leave the house and going into hiding for their safety. As their situation becomes more dangerous, they become closer and Audrey’s reputation more ruined. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline.
