⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2! Love in Rewind (stand-alone). May December spanning a decade, following a marriage’s eruption into turmoil!

“When the fairy tale ends, there's only one way back... rewind”

Love in Rewind (stand-alone) opens to a marriage in crises. To get to the truth story takes us back ten years in time to when eighteen-year-old high school graduate Emily Marcus, Em was swept off her feet by larger-than-life real-estate mogul and heir Louis Bruel.

Story follows them in a whirlwind courtship, as Em manages to capture the notorious bachelor, followed by marriage, kids and living the good life. That is until one day it all comes crashing down in the worst possible way.

Love in Rewind told mostly from Emily’s POV, allowing Louis to remain an enigma, is a May-December butterflies-in-your-belly romance with a bit of a twist. There is seduction, romance, suspense, heartache, mistakes, misunderstandings, betrayal and tragedy ending with truth and resolution, but a cliffhanger, of sort, opening to book 2 with a different H/he.

“Please tell me you’re at least eighteen. I really don’t want to go to jail. But I think it might be worth it even if you’re not.”

“I love her against reason…against promise…against peace…against hope…against happiness…against all discouragement that could be.”

Where did it all go wrong?

How could their love turn cold?

How could she be his world one day and ignored the next?

When you have everything you need in abundance, money, cars and homes; a perfect family is icing on the cake especially when you get to enjoy all these materialistic things with the ones you love. On the outside it was perfect, a life envied by all but slowly the happiness is crumbling down...Your job is to be the mother of your kids and a wife and lover to your husband, but when one of those roles is slowly pushed aside, you begin to wonder...
Where was the man who promised to move heaven and earth to make sure I was his and no one else’s?

It’s been months of drifting apart, months since they last made love, and as each day passes the distance grows little by little until it too late.
If I close my eyes and rewind it seems like yesterday…

Emily

Fresh out of high school, an innocent and stunning Emily planned on enjoying the summer with her best friend and maybe helping her sister out a time or two with her event planning company, but never did she expect that this is the summer that would change her life forever. In her mind he was only a dream, with one look Louis Bruel was a man that simply took her breath away...but what would a man like him want with a girl like her; he’s successful, gorgeous and wealthy
Why would he want me? What do I have to offer him?

Louis

Living life in the fast lane, doing whatever he wants just because he can; money and sex were his life, until a girl with the most beautiful eyes he’s ever seen passes him by. Determined to snatch her up before anyone else can. He pulls out all the stops just to be near her because deep down he knows she was made for him and will do whatever it takes to prove it to her.
I wish I could rewind, erase, and change my past, but I can’t. You are my future and I want to live with YOU in the future. I don’t want to live in my past.

Louis pursued Emily making the most of every moment they had, she became his first and only priority and made sure she knew it every single day. Emily is lost in a fairy tale refusing to believe that he honestly wants her, scared that her innocent novelty will wear out once he get's his fill, but keeping her hands off him proved to be much more difficult than expected, especially since he was a born to pleasure her.
"We were inseparable, insatiable and omnivorous, sharing ourselves with no one but each other."

“Baby, stretch your hands up and hold on tight. Feel free to scream, nobody can hear you but me.”

Love in Rewind takes us back to the beginning of the insatiable romance of Emily and Louis. Their love was passionate, intense and all consuming, it was a dream come true, almost too good to be true in fact...forever keeping the slightest bit of doubt in the back of our minds. How could you not, how could something so perfect turn out that way, one could only assume and guess? The author did an amazing job detailing out the intensity of their love because it gets you in the same mind set as Emily. It was a world wind romance that took off from the very beginning, making it an insta-love kinda read, but perfectly suited for the book.

Louis was a reformed alpha-man-whore who did everything he can to make himself be the man that she deserves. Emily was a young naive girl that didn't shy away from the way Louis makes her feel fully embracing the sexual intensity between them. They were lucky enough to find the other half of their soul in each other. I’m was torn at first between being annoyed and understanding Emily, she was young so her thoughts were immature at times but when I thought about it some more what did I really expect, she went from the care of her parents to the care of the man she loves, never really knowing anything but this world that Louis built for them.

I loved the song-code throughout the book, Emily and her best friend Sara, had a thing where they would name titles of songs to say what they couldn’t say out loud, only they would know to look to the meaning behind each one. Turning into a fun game for me as I re-lived some of the songs and it's meaning. Songs always were a way to express feelings, so it perfectly fit with the story.

Their story is told primarily from Emily’s POV while getting into Louis mind where it counted. There is no back and forth from present and past, so it is easy to follow. I honestly really enjoyed this book, but the ending...I was expecting more, praying their story would wrap up nicely. Although there was an happy ending, it wasn’t the HEA I was dreaming about. The next book in the series is Sara’s so I’m gonna have to wait longer to see what happens next.

So... I really loved the idea for this story. All marriages go through that slump where the Honeymoon is definitely over and real life happens. I actually quite liked the opening chapters...
But... the book took a serious nose dive for me when she starts to reminisce to the days when they first met.
This is a case of lust at first sight... which is okay I guess... except for the part where he comes on to her for the first time and starts calling her "little girl" while he's making sexual advances. He's 30... she's 18... it felt... icky...
Every time he said it I was doing this:

description

His very first words to her were:

Dream guy??? I think not... If a guy came up to me and those were the first words out of his mouth... he'd be singing in soprano for a while.

Everyone has those little things that makes them turn from on to off and any type of child-like reference in erotica does that to me. Instead of thinking about the hot, gorgeous guy I'm supposed to be thinking about... I immediately start thinking of all of those creepy pedophiles that like to stalk pretty little girls. Just don't want to go there...

I had many other grievances with this book... but, I think I covered my biggest negative... so I'll just leave it at that...

I wanted to like this book... I really did... but, that's the way it goes.

I love the marriage in peril trope, and this book was based on that premise. I thought this book would give me all the feels.

I was wrong.

I could not stand the cheesiness and the flowery prose and dialogue. It was too much. The way the author used songs and incorporated them into the dialogue was just...errggh, cheesy and odd. Like no one does that ever. I don't care if you're sooooooo in love. No one quotes lyrics of their favorite songs to each other in their everyday conversation. Just no.

The conflict was also disappointing. It was all a BIG MISUNDERSTANDING, folks! And it wasn't even well executed. It was just predictable and cheesy.

Don't even get me started on the dialogue. Aside from the cheesy songs, the characters talk like robots forced to recite horrible poetry to each other especially during sex. It wasn't sexy. It was cringey.

"My tongue needs to taste your pussy, which I'm sure is dripping wet for me. If you leave me right now I'll need to go home, take my pants off, and suck them dry, until I get every ounce of wetness you left behind."

"We were inseparable, insatiable and omnivorous, sharing ourselves with no one but each other."

I really don't need the hero or heroine reciting or making declarations during sexy times. I don't need a play by play. Really don't. I feel like the only words that should come out of their mouths would be, "Harder!" "Faster!" Or "I'm coming!" And nothing else!

The only reason I didn't DNF was i wanted to know what the conflict was about. In hindsight, I wish I just DNF this in the first place.

The author sent me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Unfortunately this book just wasn't for me. This book has every cliche thing that I dislike in new adult novels. The girl is a virgin and she spends her life being unnoticed by men, but yet she is so unbelievavbly beautiful in the eyes of a rich and succesful businessman. A man who is a total player and never wants to be tied down but of course he suddenly falls in love with an eighteen year old virgin and within 2 days of being with her he decides he doesn't ever want to live a life without her. It's just so unrealistic. He is close to 30 years old and she is 18. Age gaps have never been a problem for me, but it's the way Louis talks to her that gives me the creeps. He calls her little girl all the time. It's his pet name for her, and I found it so creepy and disgusting. Every time he called her "little girl" I was just like:

Emily is 18 years old, but her voice as a narrator sounds closer to 13. She is always overexaggerating and I rolled my eyes at her inner thoughts all the time. She says things like this: "Oh. My. God. Louis agreed to have coffe with me!" I don't know if I'm just nit-picking here but I can't stand her voice in this book. Also, she is always referring to Louis as Mr. Drop Dead Gorgeous, or Mr. Drunk and Sexy or Mr. Sexy Event Coordinator or whatever the fuck. It's so fucking annoying and juvenile for her to keep talking about him in this way. I couldn't stand it.

Can we also discuss how ridiculous their first time meeting each other was? The first thing he ever says to her is: "Are you trying to make me come in my pants in front of all of my clients little girl?" Like what the fuck??? What a creeper. Then the second thing he says is: "I've been jerking off to the vision of your tits in that white tank top for the last two weeks." Then after this fucking ridiculous scene, we are expected to believe this was "love at first sight" and not lust at first sight. They are literally only together for two days before he decides he's in love with her and he doesn't even know anything about her. He doesn't ask her any questions about her life and he doesn't seem to care about anything unless it has to do with getting her naked.

The insta-love is so present in this book and it's insane. I didn't ike Emily as a main character at all and Louis is disgusting. He's the typical controlling Christian Grey-like douche bag of a character that I can't stand. I don't understand how I am supposed to be attracted to him. He's so manipulative and controlling, he says things like: "First of all you are never wearing that white tank top in the prescence of others again. You don't need a job, I can give you whatever you want. Second, call your parents and tell them you're staying at a friend's house." Who the fuck does he think he is? They've spent less than 48 hours together and he thinks he has the right to tell her what she's allowed to wear in front of other people and tell her she doens't need a job. It's fucking insanity. It's just so unrealistic that a guy like him would spend less than two days with an eighteen year old girl and suddenly fall so "head over heels" for her that he can't possibly go on without her even though he know remotely nothing about her.

Overall, this book just wasn't my cup of tea. I spent most of the time cringing or rolling my eyes. The inta-love is just one of many things that bothered me about this book. I didn't like Louis at all and I never felt attracted to his character at any point in this book, he mostly gave me creeper vibes and the way he called her "little girl" all the time freaked me the fuck out. That shit is not cute, especially because of the significant age gap, it just made it worse. Maybe if you are a fan of Fifty Shades of Grey then you'll enjoy this book more than I did, but I really don't care for the alpha male controlling creepy douche bag male characters that I'm supposed to be attracted to just because they are "sexy" and rich. I don't get it.

DNF

The pretense of this story and the music references sounded right up my alley and I was dying to get to get stuck into Love In Rewind. I'm gutted that this one turned out to be a DNF for me and I will offer a couple of reason why I couldn't proceed.

My issues started with the lewdness and sexual advances made by 30 year old man about town Louis, to 18 year old inexperienced Emily which at times made me cringe.

"My tongue needs to taste your pussy, which I'm sure is dripping wet for me. If you leave me right now I'll need to go home, take my pants off, and suck them dry, until I get every ounce of wetness you left behind."

He pretty much detailed what he would do to her from the moment they met and he certainly wasn't subtle about it. This, together with him regularly referring to Emily as "little girl" made me cringe and instead of Louis coming across as a sexy hero, he came across as creepy to me.

"Are you trying to make me come in my pants in front of all my clients, little girl?' he asked.

Some readers will love this one, unfortunately it didn't work for me.

I received a copy of this story for an honest review for Amber's Reading Room. Pictures used as part of this review are used for fun and do not belong to me.

I am an old married lady (technically I’m 33 but 2 years of dating and 12 years of marriage totally counts toward ‘old married lady’ status in my mind). We’ve had ups and downs but overall it’s been pretty awesome. The reason I share this is because as much as I love all forms of romance reads, sometimes what I really crave is a kick-butt story about a married couple. The kind of story where the married couple still has fire and spark but faces their drama only to come out stronger for their trials in the end. Author Tali Alexander gave me just what I was looking for with Love in Rewind, an impressive (and hot, hot, hot) tale of a marriage that unexpectedly goes wrong after starting out oh so right.

At 29, Emily Bruel should feel on top of the world. She’s married to billionaire Louis Bruel, “The Baron of New York Real Estate,” and together they are parents to two beautiful children. Emily’s closet is made up of the latest fashions, her bank account is always full, and a dedicated trainer has kept her body in top shape. There is just one small problem. The man she’s devoted the last eleven years of her life to, the man she’s created the picture perfect family for… hasn’t touched her in 95 days and seems to have forgotten that she exists. As the cracks in her marriage become harder to hide, Emily takes a look back to the beginning to figure out what went wrong.

 photo LoveinRewindCollage_zps1a381e72.jpg

At 18, Emily Marcus is on top of the world. A recent high school grad, Emily is looking forward to fun times with her best friend Sara and making some money helping out her sister and brother-in-law with their catering/event business. Her first night on the job turns out to be a life changer when she locks eyes with New York’s most eligible bachelor, Louis Bruel. The tall, dark, and handsome businessman begins to consume Emily’s every thought and fortunately for her, Louis appears to feel the same way. The two have a definite physical attraction but can they forge a real relationship, something that will last despite multiple challenges from family, friends, and each other?

 photo LoveinRewindCollage2_zps03b4fd7a.jpg

I loved Love in Rewind so much that I read it in one sitting only to turn around and start rereading it the next day. Author Tali Alexander creates an amazing couple with Emily and Louis, one that I can see myself revisiting multiple times in the future. Somehow the pair manages to come across as real and believable even in an exaggerated world of wealth and privilege. I felt Emily’s heartbreak as she dealt with Louis’s lack of attention, felt her joy recalling their courtship, blushed at some of their more intimate moments, and (not a total spoiler) celebrated their eventual HEA.

Love in Rewind has an additional bonus, 80’s music. Emily and her best friend speak in short-hand of 80’s song titles which sum up their feelings with the lyrics of the song. Examples – When Emily and Louis hook up in his car it translates to “Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car” by Billy Ocean. When Emily thinks her marriage is over it translates to “It Must have Been Love” by Roxette. This was candy to my 80’s music nerd brain and resulted in several late night MP3 purchases.

Love in Rewind is an amazingly fun and easy read that you won’t forget any time soon. I highly recommend it.

Happy reading.

Well, here we go.. another review that I hate to write because it is a struggle being torn between the good and the bad. I'd been hearing a lot about this book and the blurb really caught my attention. I love the idea of a story going in reverse, and being that I have been married myself for 8 years now, I can definitely relate to a story about finding the fairy tale once again.

 photo LoveinRewindCasting_zpsa7d54351.jpg

Before I get started I will say that I generally thought this book was OK. The writing was very good, especially for this being this author's first book. That, for me is #1. The sex was VERY hot as well. No complaints there. I loved that Louis was a dirty talker. And I LOVED the 80's musical references. I am a child of the 80's myself and loved the hyperlinks that were intertwined throughout the book, allowing the reader the opportunity to listen to some old favorites. Sarah (Emily's best friend) was probably my favorite character and I will probably check out her book when it comes out. She seems like a flawed and complex character and I liked that about her.

What I struggled with:

- Emily and Louis's connection was just too insta-love for me. I get that it was love at first sight and all, but I just had trouble believing that Louis could be reformed over night like that. I like billionaire romances, in fact I loved 50 Shades of Grey. I guess I would've needed for these characters to be more flawed and for their path to happiness to be more of a beaten one in order to make it more believable for me.

- I found their conflict at the end to be very frustrating. The fact that Emily would make a snap judgement based on one observation, instead of communicating with her husband, bothered me big time. I am a mother, and I guess that just rubbed me personally the wrong way.

With the above being said, I know that there are people out there that will love the book and won't have the issues with it that I did. It's a fairy tale romance, and for someone who is looking for some good escapism, this is the book for them!!

All in all, I did generally enjoy the book and I did cry at the end at a certain scene. I enjoyed the ending and I hope that Sarah and Will hook up...just saying.

First, I smelled him, then my body sensed him, and then I saw two large tanned hands placed on either side of me on the granite countertop.

"Are you trying to make me come in my pants in front of all my clients, little girl?"
he asked.

And that was it. I was hooked on this roller-coaster and did not get off until the last page. By times romantic, funny, poignant, at other times, smutty, lewd, infantile, implausible, both its qualities and its flaws had me riveted to Tali Alexander's Love in Rewind.

It is definitely a go big, or go home type of book. Everything is ultra magnified, embellished, puffed up. The first person narrator is living not a dream life, not an enchanted fairy tale, but more like an alternate reality where every single thing she could have ever written down in her teenage journal comes true: The older, suave, former rake who gets "mine, mine, mine" obsessed with her, giving her his heart, soul and his huge, throbbing dick. Yup. This was what it was like reading the book. One minute, you are swooning in a frosty Katy Perry video complete with rainbows and unicorns, the next you are in the middle of a raunchy porn flick. It was offputting but hilarious.

I was torn with the rating. 80% of the book was great. The last 20% was a hot mess. I was intrigued to see how the author was going to turn this Perfect with a capital P romance and show us how it went wrong. It would have been interesting to explore what happens after the proverbial HEA when the Prince swings the Princess up on his horse to lead her to the castle. Unfortunately, I got the Great, Terrible, Misunderstanding. It kind of ruined it for me. Not many writers are able to explore what can go wrong in a relationship and how two people who messed up can work to get back maybe not what they had but maybe something even better and stronger. I can only think of one contemporary romance that was able to deal with the "after the HEA" in a plausible way and that was Nina Lane's Spiral of Bliss series. I didn't get that here. I got a soap opera.

However, this is not to say I did not enjoy the story overall and I am very tempted to read this author's other work to see if maybe with her later books, her writing has been able to mature and calm itself. I see great potential here. Spoilers ahead for people who want details of the plot.

“I love her against reason…against promise…against peace…against hope…against happiness…against all discouragement that could be.”

We’ve all been there. The book that gives you the feels. That relatable feeling that you’ve SO been where this character is in that moment. You finish it and immediately start searching for groups so you can discuss with people who feel the same. You obsessively message the author to contain your excitement. You can’t wait to tell your friends and more importantly, you sit and wonder, how did this author do this to me?

That said...

Tali Alexander, thank you for my book hangover. AND, thank you for a book that uses constant 80’s references which I will now try to do in my review.

”Jeopardy” Greg Kihn Band

Love in Rewind is the story of Emily and Louis. The book starts in the present, Here we are after 10 years of marriage, and suddenly a whole lot of disconnect. Emily is lost, she has no idea what has gone awry in her picture perfect marriage.

”I would give it all up to have my husband want me like he once did”

She then takes us down memory lane on her life with Louis. We rewind and go to the very beginning of their love affair.

Emily meets millionaire bachelor Louis Bruel when she’s only 18. It’s love at first sight. Sure, he’s older and word out on the street is he’s a player But, she’s immediately obsessed by his charm and attention.
She cannot stay away from him, despite the warnings from her sister

”I mean your not his type of girl. Trust me, Sis, don’t play games with rich boys -- you’ll lose,”

Only, what Em doesn’t know is, he too had a moment.

”Is This Love?” Whitesnake

We relive 10 year of intense love and erotic playtime. We take the stroll with Emily and fall in love with her and WITH her. It’s the perfect escape, it’s every girls fantasy. Who doesn’t want to fall in love and get whisked away by the perfect man? And so we get 10 years of amazing...

"Babe We’re Gonna Love Tonight." Lime

We get, love, sex, laughter. We get romance, dating and life with Louis. We get the wedding, babies and hurt.

That’s the thing about life. Before you know it, the easy suddenly gets hard. What worked, suddenly is broken. What we had, is lost.

Before long we are back to the present. Where, well, shit gets real. This is where the feels come in. This is where Em is forced to examine the past 10 years of her life. Where she tries to pinpoint where THEY went wrong.
”Looking back, maybe I shouldn’t have let Louis dominate my whole life.”

And sure, maybe she shouldn’t have, but, what do you know at 18? What do you do when a rich, gorgeous 29 year old millionaire falls for you? When he promises to show you the world and makes you believe in finding your bashert?

”I Know There’s Something Going On” Frida

”But then again, how could you tell your body you can’t have air when you need it to breathe”

As a debut author, I feel like Tali it out of the park.

Here are my top reasons why.

1. Character Development. She nailed it. It was torture loving both characters and falling apart when they were. I was WITH them.
2. Past and Present. The writing was seamless. I never was confused where I was in their relationship and it wasn’t choppy.
3. Dual POVs. Nailed it.
4. Tali gives you the much needed escape that only a book can give. But she managed to give you the package. You get steamy erotic fairytale with the perfect OMG twists thrown in.

I cannot WAIT for book 2. I sure hope to see more of these two!

I received an ARC of LOVE IN REWIND by Tali Alexander for an honest review.

I would first like to tell you my favorite part of this book…Louis Bruel: hot, rich, and one of New York City's most eligible bachelors! We meet Emily who has been married to Louis for almost 10 years. They have a beautiful life together. But then Louis seems to start distancing himself from her; she's torn up about it. Emily starts to rewind her life back to where she first met the man of her dreams. We find out that Louis was a notorious womanizer with a colorful past. They met when Emily was only 18-year-old. She was young, innocent, beautiful any man's dream! This gorgeous older man swept Emily off her feet! I mean, he is sooooo swoon worthy it's crazy. I can totally picture how hot he is! The chemistry between these two is off the charts! The sex is freaking amazing! They have a beautiful life together.

I also LUV the way Emily and her best friend Sara refer to 80's song lyrics to communicate. It's so unique. This was a great, easy, fun read. Can't wait to read about Sara next in Book II of the AUDIO FOOL series…

I hated this book!! I have never hated a book so much. This will be a rant so if you love this book or don't like negativity don't read on!

Things that bothered me in this book:

- 30 year old alpha male bosses around a 18 year old girl that does not stand up for herself ( he tells her what to wear and all of that bs)

- the main male character has been a playboy all his life but when he sets eyes on her he changes completely and she is the love of his life

- Insta love

- he calls her constantly little girl (creep alert)

- he is super rich and buys the main girl expensive gifts after one month being together

- and the list goes on

Love it!!

This book was amazing!! I loved everything about it. Yes this is an instalove story and it's my favourite instalove story. Emily and Louis are meant to be and you can see that from the very start, Louis could be any woman's dream man. Handsome, alpha male, possessive, protective, attentive and loving.

 photo 9E672E06-F768-4838-9854-8E9348EFB265_zps8agvjwkd.jpeg

Emily and Louis are in completely different stages in their lives. Louis is a rich playboy and Emily is just recently a high school graduate. Emily has a very innocent personality but when she gets with Louis all of that is corrupted.

 photo A968C9DE-72D8-47B7-8C75-14F5685817B8_zpsb6uty2kc.gif

The beginning of their love story was fast. Everything happened so quick. I just never wanted to end. I really liked all the normal things that you don't usually get to see. Louis was so sweet and attentive, Louis was just absolutely enamored with Emily.

Emily and Louis lived a luxury life and their life was perfect they went on vacations on their luxary yacht.

Louis was quiet the playboy before he met Emily and he and his friends "the boys were notorious for their parties and sexapades.

I really loved that he protected Emily after the whole incident. He was completely devoted to her and never looked back.

The sex in this book was something else. Hot is not the word. It was burning. Louis is a beast!!!

Emily and Sara have a memorable relationship all the references to their favourite 80's songs had me grooving.

 photo 02E68D07-250A-4880-A5AE-F2D61E4EA8D4_zpsz3xjcxal.gif
Their friendship was so unique they were more like sisters than friends. Sara was an iffy character for me, I'm not sure if I liked her at all. She was a great friend to Emily but was she a good person? In my opinion not so much. I will have to read her story to find out.

Unfortunately not everything can be perfect forever. Emily and Louis' story is written over a span of their years together. It shows us their dating stage and when they get engaged and also their married life. Married life can be hard and things start to change in their marriage. Emily has doubts because of Louis' past and is worried. They have gone through so much together and have even had two kids.

This story is was a story that was building up to this moment showing us all the trials and tribulations they went through to get to this point. After many years together in a happy marriage, will they be able to over come this?

4.5 stars!

Love in Rewind is author, Tali Alexander’s debut contemporary novel, and I quite enjoyed it via audiobook. One of the coolest features of the audiobook recording is the dual narrators for all live dialogue. I also really loved that Emily and her best friend, Sarah communicated via eighties song titles. I used to do something very similar so I would smile every time they did this. And of course, I’m also just a huge eighties music fan.

I think that starting the novel off with Emily’s dream in the present day and then going back to tell the story of how she and Louis fell in love was very clever. I was super curious about what caused the breakdown. Their chemistry was so explosive in the beginning that it was hard to fathom them no longer in sync 10 years later. We get a very in depth look at their courtship before moving into their early years as a married couple with two kids and a very full life.

During their romance when Louis sang When In Rome’s The Promise to Emily, I squealed. I love that song! (Check out the lyrics here: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/whenin...) Later, when we’ve returned to the present and Emily believes that Louis broke his promise, I was bewildered and bummed out. At this point, Roxette’s It Must Have Been Love really seemed to apply to their relationship with events finally snowballing out of control. I was kept on the edge of my seat as the point of view alternated from a very hurt Emily to Louis.

At one point, I seriously wondered if I had heard one scene correctly. It couldn’t really be ending this way I thought to myself. Luckily, their story wasn’t over yet, and I was relieved at how their misunderstanding was resolved. However, it does end on a slight cliffhanger leaving an opening for a sequel.

I’m hoping that the sequel will focus on Emily’s knight-in-shining-British-armor William Knight and Sarah. I’ll definitely be reading that sequel via audiobook again because female narrator, Kirsten Leigh was excellent. And male narrator, Sebastian Fields was quite good with accents. Together they make a great narrating team and really enhanced my reading experience of Emily and Louis’ love story.

A few favorite moments:

“But what keeps me glued to you is the package that holds all my favorite parts together. You have bewitched me. You’re mine for life.” Louis

“I wish I could rewind, erase and change my past. But I can’t. You are my future. And I want to live with you in the future. I don’t want to live in the past. My past is what brought me to you. It prepared me for this, for us. I promise we’ll get through this. Just don’t leave me.” Louis

‘Freddy says it best, The Show Must Go On.’ Louis

‘Our new motto is if you see something, say something.’ Emily

Audiobook review: Fantastic recording!
POV: Emily – main, Louis – additional, dialogue – both
Unabridged Length: 10 hrs and 48 minutes
Narrated By: Kirsten Leigh (5-stars) and Sebastian Fields (4-stars)
Would I listen to another book narrated by them both? Hell yes!

To start off, I want to tell you guys how much I love the title of this book. I love it so much because it fits the story perfectly. This book is basically a love story in rewind. It starts with our protagonist, Emily, telling us how her perfect marriage is in crisis. So from the very beginning, we are prepared for something bad to happen; plus it made me eager to know what happened to her marriage. And then the story flashes back to when Emily and her husband, Louis, first met and fell in love; and how they progress to where they are now.

This book is kind of surreal to me, because the male lead is a rich and handsome man who has a high social status. It's pretty hard for me to imagine that a grown-up man like that would fall for some random girls who just turn eighteen (hi, Emily). This is a modern fairy tale.

Sometimes surreality and fairy tales are good, because we girls just love stuff like that. But my problem towards this book is that it didn't convince me that Emily and Louis fall for each other out of love, but rather out of lust AT FIRST. Probably because there are so many steamy scenes (I suggest you not to read it if you're under 17 or 18) so I had a hard time believing it was true love. But then, after I was half-way through, I finally started to see hints of love between them. The way they speak to each other, the way they support each other, these tiny moments really got me. And sometimes it made me wish for a relationship like that.

My favorite part is absolutely the second half of this book, that's when all the feels come in. The misunderstandings, the insecurities, the mistrusts, all come together like a flood and drown you in these emotions. It's such a roller coaster ride, and it makes you keep on turning the pages until the end. I also love how Emily and her best friend use 80's songs as their secret language. You know how they feel just by looking at the titles of the songs. This is literally genius and adds a little fun to the story.

Love in Rewind by Tali Alexander was an exceptional book. I started and finished this book in one day. Most of the story takes place in the past and leads up to the current situation at the start of the book. The emotions that the characters feel suck you in to the point that you start to feel what they are feeling, whether it is love, lust, or heart break.

I think the Tali captured the mindset of an eighteen year old virgin perfectly. She showcased the naivety of Emily with such perfection that you cannot help but laugh at some of the stuff that comes out of her mouth. Louis was a surprise for me. He goes from a horn dog player to a man that cannot exist without his love.
This story has everything a true love story needs and then some. The sex scenes are hot, the love is sweet and nothing could go wrong. Right up until it does. Louis learns the hard way that keeping secrets can and does lead to false assumptions and misunderstandings. I give this book 5 stars ***** for its ability to pull me so thoroughly into the book that I was able to block out everything around me. I cannot wait to read more about this couple that has worked their way into my heart.

This is a great book that exceeds my expectations. At first, I hesitated about reading the story because the summary seems to tell me this was a disillusionment of fairy tale, well, it's not.

The story began as Emily told us how cold her once beloved husband became, and then she told how they first met. When Emily first met the hot and rich Louis Bruel, she was only eighteen just graduated from high school. They were attracted to each other at first sight but didn't speak to each other until the next time they met again. Although Louis was a manwhore and Emily was a naive girl, Louis persuaded Emily to believe he really loved her and wanted to have a family with her. Their love story was so romantic and very very spicy.

Because I already knew Emily and Louis had some problems in their marriage from the beginning of the story, while enjoyed her flashbacks of their love, I became more and more anxious as story went on: how cold a wonderful man become so cold toward his beloved wife? Without revealing much to those who haven't read this story, I can only promise there was no cheating and betraying.

Recommend to those who love reading spicy love story!

***** I received an ARC from the author for an honest review. *****

This is a beautifully heart stopping story of Emily and Louis. It goes through their life and the way they fell in love. They have ups and downs and show you love is not always perfect. Things happen in life and you always have hurdles to jump to get to your happily ever after.

I was excited to start this book.
The blurb drew me in right away!

Im here thinking wow... Emily seems to have a perfect life.....

........ well there is always more to a story.

Emily was such a well written character. I loved her right away.

The story starts off with angst(which im an angst whore!).

The author has you thinking "what the heck went wrong!!??".

Then we go back in time and show where it all began.

Boy what a crazy sexy ride it was to see Emily first lay her eyes on Louis and his older caveman self!

Soooooooooo many sexy steamy oh my god that was hot scenes in this book!
 photo tumblr_lq2qfxYGJc1qht847_zpsimmxe77i.gif
*fans self*

Through this whole book there is music being referenced. Emily and her friend Sara communicate this way through song titles to say how they are feeling.
It's something I loved most in this story!
I love when authors have playlist for their books. Well this was a playlist literary IN THE BOOK for you!
It makes you totally understand Emily and how she is feeling.

One of my favorite quotes is when she calls her friend Sara after she has her first encounter with Louis:
"Every Breath You Take by The Police" I said as soon as she picked up the phone. "Are you fucking kidding me? Have you been stalking him, you idiot? He could be married or gay or both."

After you find out more about their past you think to yourself again.... How did they get this way.... what went wrong???

"I should've know the end would be closing in on my fairy tale eventually. Fairy tales aren't meant to last outside the pages of a book."

This book made me fall in love with Louis and Emily.
It gutted me.
It made me want to junk punch people.
It made me cry!

Great job Tali Alexander 5 GIANT SHINY STARS TO THIS STORY!
I cant wait for more!!

* The author of this book sent me this copy in exchange for an honest review, so don’t expect less than that, I will always give my honest opinion, like it or not *

I liked this book so much … I honestly can’t wait to be able to read the second book of this series because I love the way this author writes, and ALSO the third book is coming out this year of 2016, I am really excited, honetly, I am now a fan of Tali Alexander.

Before I drive into the review I need to say this… I never read in digital format (it is really rare) because it normally bores me but this time I had to accept it because I was really excited about this story… and I didn’t get bored, of course that I always prefer reading physical books, I will always prefer real books but it was not bad at all because this book is really captivating.

Starting with the cover of the book… I have no words, this cover is so beautiful and it describes really well the story that is inside… and the colors, they are just to die for.

I don’t have anything bad to say about this book because I truly enjoyed everything about it, as you probably know I am a huge fan of New Adult novels and I never refuse to read one.

I loved the characters, I truly did… normally I have a hard time liking characters but this time it was not hard at all… I enjoyed so much the main characters and I really loved Sara (Emily’s best friend), by the way, the second book is about Sara, isn’t that awesome? I am so thrilled.

I am in love with Louis and while reading the book I was just melting for him… of course that some things in this book were just too fast (things I can’t tell you here because it is spoiler) but even those things were cute and I just can’t judge the author for writting that down… ARGH, I WANT TO TELL YOU WHAT IT IS BUT I CAN’T. Anyways, if you read the book you obviously know what I mean, it was too fast but it was part of the story and even the characters admitted that that was fast (can’t tell you more about this).

About the plot… I really enjoyed it, I enjoyed the whole book actually because it was such a light reading and this author’s writting skills are just perfect because her writting is really simple and you can read this book really fast. I fell in love with the story since the beginning of the book, it just “sucked” me in right in the first chapter and I just wanted to know more and more. NOW I AM ACTUALLY DEVASTATED BECAUSE I WANT MORE…

Now, now… of course that I recommend this book to EVERYONE because it is really cool, but I just have to warn you… it is an Erotic Romance (NA, but erotic) so if you are used to read this kind of things then just READ THIS AWESOME PIECE OF STORY but if you are not, I don’t know… if you never tried I suggest you give this book an opportunity and make this book your first, if you tried and you didn’t like, try this one anyways, the story is really great and you shouldn’t be focusing only in those sexy and kinky parts.

I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.

LOVE IN REWIND had me from page one … Tali Alexander sucked me into Emily's head from the start and I just had to know everything. I was on the edge of my seat biting my poor nails while reliving Emily and Louis's beautiful privileged life from the very start. The build-up, the lust, their chemistry it was incredible… you could taste it. Louis Bruel…Oh-My-God, I'm in love with Mr. Drop Dead Gorgeous. And Emily Marcus (I think Tali Alexander was totally describing me!) These two were married for almost 10 years when things start to turn south. I couldn't wait to understand what happened! The sex, did I already mention how hot and amazing their sex life was? If I did, I don't care the love scenes were great and believable. I couldn't put the book down. I smiled, I laughed, I hyperventilated and I cried. The fact that the whole book is loaded with 80's songs is a bonus. I can't wait for the next book in the Audio Fools series by Tali Alexander. I just want the book to be out already so all my friends can finally read it…

Love in Rewind by Tali Alexander is a great romance book with AMAZING 80s music references! This book was very different to books I've read before, its a genre I don't read much of, but I definitely enjoyed it.

For me Emily and Louis's relationship was really cute, and they were both really likeable! I thought that young Emily was very relatable which made me warm to her straight away! My favourite thing about her was the way she and her best friend told each other how they were feeling through 80s song titles. I love 80s music a lot!

I liked the way the relationship was in the book spanned from there first meeting right through over 11 years of being together. They werent the most realistic couple in most ways, they had insane amounts of money and their love was very passionate and intense - but there was a lot of realism later in their marriage that I liked.

I'm looking forward to the next book!

I really enjoyed this! But the entire time, after reading the first chapter, I was nervous. After learning about the characters and the lives they had before meeting, I was nervous that what she was thinking was true the whole time. So while reading I was I guess a little skeptical of him because I couldn't tell if it was going to happen... To me though it felt like insta - love and those relationships throw me off especially when put into this scenario. I did love their story despite those little issues. They have a relationship that I think every girl wants to have. I mean, who wouldnt?! I'm really looking forward to the second book in this series as well as reading more by this author. I may have been born in the 90's, but I do love 80's music, so hearing songs thrown into this, just made it even more enjoyable. :)

I loved this book! Love in Rewind takes us back to the beginning of Emily and Louis love story, when she was a young woman and he was already famous and a rich man that fall in love for each other.
This story also is a reminder that we must trust the person we love as well as communicating to keep an healthy relationship.
This is a lovely romance, with a lot of hot sex scenes, great music and some surprises... Cant wait to read more Tali Alexander!!

Lets Do thisssssssss

I had the pleasure to receive an ARC of this book in Exchange of an honest review.

Love in Rewind is the first book in the Audio Fools series, and The debut Novel for the author Tali Alexander.
I usually search the most I can about the author, before I read the book, so I can connect and see where the author is coming from, so when I found out she is a Pharmacist I said oh well.. a book about pills and stuff!!LOL.. I was sooo wrong that its embarrassing. Oh well live and learn and all those shebackles! :P

Love in Rewind is a Erotic/Romance book, with a good reading pace, Female Pov until the very end then we get a little Male p.view, this book is about love and having it all you could dream then losing it, and not in a dramatic way like death, no, it’s about losing it because with years something good and shiny will lose its spark if you don’t polish it, or take care of it. We have family, best friends * Sarah is the BEST friend any girl could wish*, an old enemy appearance - wait! Can I call him enemy if I had a girl crush on him?? Mm.. lets call him frienemy, gorgeous scenarios that make you want to pack your bags, sell your house and go there – my favourite is Blue Lagoon in Turks and Caicos. And songs! OMGAD *spoiler* If you click on the song you go to Tali’s website to hear it!! I LOVED IT!!! And the lyrics are there too!! its So much fun and you can go Karaoke style at your Living room. Friendly warning *don’t go Karaoke style in public places like the train station if you don’t trust your Whitney Houston voice* :D !! I am a 90’s chick through and through BUT I had to give in a shake what my momma gave me with the 80’s –I blame Push it by Salt n’ Pepa damn .. BTW I am pretty sure there is a video of me somewhere in youtube! Oh well… Let’s go back to the book and ignore my antiques…
Emily *our heroine/ main character * had it ALL and when I say it all I mean- live-in nanny, a housekeeper, a cook, a driver, a masseuse, a trainer and a Husband that is just two steps down on GOD.
But all that can not hide the fact that she is going 95 days without sex! Ouch.. you live with the most eligible bachelor in New York and you are going 95 days without it.. that is not good!! Nope.. little problem, she doesn’t know where she went wrong..10 years married..it was supposed to be THE Fairy Tale, HER happy ever after and all.. so where did lovely Emily went wrong..?? To answer that we need to REWIND .. 
11 Years AGO!!
Emily is 18 and working for her sister and brother-in-law in their Catering company when she meets Louis Bruel. Can we say Insta love?? Yess we can! It made me all girlie when I read her describing him.. and a little jealous, come on he is HOT! You would be jealous too! So no judging! :P .. she gets a little stalkarish about him its kind of funny..she confesses her love and stalker tendencies to her Best friend in the whole world- OMG Sarah is a force to be reckoned with.. they have their own secret language, they communicate their feelings with 80’s songs, its so funny to read it, it made me wish me and my best friend had the same idea. Sarah is there for her no matter what, and helps as best as she can, even if that means going to a sex shop O.M.G *insert laughter* best scene ever I laughed so hard I had tears!
Louis Bruel is 30year old sex God.. a bachelor with an heart of gold, the “poor” little fella got hooked.. yeap it was hook..line..sinker with him.. He was a businessman, rich, a playboy per se. but he melted like butter with Emily, it was great to read about a Hero who wouldn’t be so Alpha –you see is what you get if you don’t like it move along- no Louis gave it as good as he got, I loved his little responses, little request, always polite, keeping his promises, it made me laugh, and I couldn’t understand the 95 days thing.. So i kept going.. because the author got me hooked.. I needed to know what went wrong.. and I can totally say OMG no matter how many scenarios I imagined.. the outcome was not in my mind. – 7.21 was MIND blowing..Very well played Mrs. Alexander.
Without further do: Tali Alexander knows how to write a book. She got me hooked from the 1st Chapter, she made me laugh out loud, giggle like a school girl, hold my breath, get mad, fan myself because holy Hot scenes, get confused, drop a few not so lady like words, feel like the world stopped spinning, hold my breath, scream- No no no this author cant do this to me! She made me FEEL .. and that’s what I look in a book! I can NOT wait for book two!
I always do this at the end of my reviews so.. the songs I choose to describe this book are – Christina Aguilera- Candyman and Adele – Make you feel my love and Miley Cyrus- Adore you. Thanks!

To me, there are two different types of romance novels. One that is realistic and everything happens at a reasonable and believable pace. And then there is the fairy tale, love at first sight, soul mate, everything is perfect kind of story.

Love in Rewind is the latter.

Personally, I enjoy my romances to take time, to build up before the "I love you's" are exchanged. But there is always a first for everything.

When I read the premise of the book, I was instantly intrigued and wanted to read it. I was aware of the 18 and up warning that most of the NA books have attached, but I didn't pay it much mind, as I never do.
Edit
I guess there was no 18+ warning, I must have saw something else that said erotica on it.

Within the first couple of chapters though, that warning came into play. Others have classified this as erotica, but I am not sure if I would. It wasn't as tame as a typical romance that's for sure, but something about it made it feel lighter. Like I could be on a beach somewhere and it would be the perfect read. But it still had it's steamy scenes!

Love in Rewind, starts off in the present where we find Emily and Louis who are married, and seem to be having some marital problems. Rewind back 10 years to the night they first encounter one another and their story begins.

Louis Bruel is a man who knows what he wants, and lucky for Emily, he wants her and will stop at nothing to have her.

As I said before, this follows along in a fairy tale type. Everything is all happy-go-lucky for the two for the majority of the story. Louis is a billionaire, of course and Emily is a virgin. Everything between the two happens at a very accelerated pace, which the author also acknowledges through her characters.

Take this book for what it is, a light fun read that you can indulge yourself in, and forget the outside world for a little while, all the while getting tons of 80's song references. Yes, I forgot to mention that Emily and best friend Sara communicate their feelings through 80's song titles. I found myself singing the titles along with them.

I must also mention, I had the audio version as well. It wasn't your typical audio book. At least not for me. Both characters were voiced by a male and a female in the same scenes. It made the story really come alive.

Tali Alexander wrote such an amazing book. Her writing is amazing. It flows easily, and effortless. I love the plot of the book, I loved being in the dark and not knowing what happened. I loved reading their love story from the very beginning. The book is more on the side of romance fairy tale, where to me nothing is very much realistic, they lay eyes on each other, fall in love. I am a sucker for those books, after reading so much Young Adult I need something like this: witty, quick, amazing read.

The main character have such an amazing profound love for one another. Louis and Emily have a unique story. Emily is eighteen and falls in love with a man who is eleven year older than her, making him twenty-nine. Fast forward to ten years later, they have two kids and things rough. Louis won't talk to her, touch her, or love her. Follow Emily's beautiful, heart wrenching journey as she tries to figure out where it all went wrong. (I don't wanna give much or anymore away, you need to feel it all yourself, your emotions will just rush out.)

I hope you all get sucked into this book and become addicted just like I did. I found myself thinking about the characters when I wasn't reading like at: work, driving, and grocery shopping. I couldn't wait to get home and read. This book won't be for everyone, but go into it with a clear open mind. I do believe people who loved Fifty Shades of grey will love this. I highly recommend and hope you all love it! <33

Total DNF. The beginning, although somewhat OTT, was promising but then the book did a Rewind to show the reader how the present situation came to be. Immediately, I hated the narrative, which rambled too much and wasn't straight forward enough for me. And I hated the constant 80's pop culture references. There were just too many.

When the H and h first encounter each other he is 30 and she is 18. I rarely get squimish about too much of anything sexual, but this h, who is two weeks out of HS, is masturbating constantly while thinking about this guy. So much time is devoted to the amount of time she devotes to getting off thinking about him that it became uncomfortable. Not erotic at all.

Their next encounter, where they actually speak to one another, the H is so vulgar that it was a complete turn off. I don't mind dirty talk but at least let us get to know the H somewhat first. His first words cannot be pure nastiness when there is no frame of reference for who he is. I never warmed up to the H and I never connected the h. The writing was subpar and the characters were not interesting. I thought the idea of the book was good but definitely not the execution.

I was fortunate enough to have read an Advanced read copy of this books as a gift from the author.
I loved this book! I can totally relate to this story with the age difference between Louis and Emily, I know how it feels to be the “little girl”. I am also an 80’s girl so I really love the songs incorporated into the book.
I found myself not being able to be torn away…Louis Bruel is a dream.
This book was unique in the fact that many books out now a days have a main character that is so damaged that he or she needs therapy, has trouble loving, or has a sordid past. Not with this book…it was a breath of fresh air! The book was also genuine, in the fact you could really feel the love between the Bruel’s and actually feel and see Emily becoming a woman.
I loved how the book started in present day and then took you on the fairy tale love affair between Louis and Emily.
Great job Tali Alexander…you should be proud!

Holy shit I'm surprised how much I LOVED this book. Marriage is hard, I know. And I wasn't sure how much I should love Louis because I really did. Emily is an amazing young woman who is trying to find her place in life when she's blindsided by Louis. He sweeps her off her feet and refuses to leave her side. Their romance is quick and HOT.

Emily is telling us the story of how they met, fell in love and grew together and also apart.

One scene had me in absolute hysterics and I wanted to throw my kindle. How could Tali do this to me?! But I got over it shortly.

I cannot wait for book 2 in the Audio Fools Series.
