On her twenty-first birthday, Franki Smith receives a dozen black roses and an unsigned invitation to a nightclub that doesn't seem to exist. The dark gift haunts her because of two handwritten words near the top. Little Bird. Her mother's nickname for her.

Only, Franki's mother disappeared from her life without a trace exactly three years ago to the day.

Who sent the mysterious invitation? Franki's need to answer this question will lead her to the doorway of a strange and dangerous new world. A world her mother went to great lengths to keep hidden.

I enjoyed it. However, I felt it lacked something. Maybe it was the climax action.

Sarra Cannon has outdone herself in the first installment of what I'm sure is going to be an amazing series. I was pulled in immediately and needed more at the end of the first episode. The great thing about this series is that they are short and quick reads. Cannon gives us just enough to leave us hungry for more!

I won't give away too much, but this series has it all - Quick installments so the laundry doesn't get too far behind, a steamy tortured hotty of a guy that you just NEED more of, a strong beautiful heroine that of course we all picture as ourselves and a strong story line with lots of twists and turns. It's fabulous - trust me, Momma Knows!

While this is set in the same universe as Beautiful Demons you do NOT need to have read that series to understand what's happening in Sacrifice Me.

Sarra Cannon just keeps getting better and Momma's already read the next installment!

One word, typical.

Not a signal original thing happened within this book, it was completely typical! So thank god it's free! I'm not going to lie, the beginning kind of caught my attention but then when I reached the end, I was disappointed. This is a start to a serial, so why have that kind of beginning?! I get the author was trying to pull you in and maybe get you to buy the next episode, however this story was completely flat.

If you read a lot of paranormal books, like I do, you can start to see a pattern. A cliché filled formula and that's what this book does. It's Franki's birthday, which has something to do with her paranormal heritage (of course she doesn't know it yet). Something mysterious comes her way and then at night, her and her friend are hopping between bars, she gets this "instinct" which leads her to where she needs to be. Here more mysterious things happen and the first guy she lays eyes on will turn into her supernatural hero. She tries to find out what's going on but no one tells her a thing and again, it's all very typical. I was hoping for an awesome New Adult Paranormal but instead I get something I feel like I've read before. You can expect I rolled my eyes a lot.

Overall, the characters were flat and nothing felt refreshing. At the end it was just, meh. Nothing pulled at my interest to want to continue the serial and the only reason why I gave this a two star rating is because I'm hopeful that it'll get better over time. And because it is a serial, so it doesn't feel right to give it a one. Even though it's typical, nothing new, and I was completely unsatisfied.

Suspenseful, intriguing and keeps you wanting to find out more! Frank I just turned 21 and she's lived her life not knowing her dad or any other family besides her mom up until she turned 18 when her mother decided to run from her! Now she's out on the town with her best friend after receiving black roses and an invite to a place no one has ever heard of! But she does find the place and now she has more questions then answers! Great quick read can't wait to read more!

This was an interesting set up to the Sacrifice Me series, but it was too short for me to really get invested in the story.

I understand that it's a serial, but I wish there had been a bit more information given out in this episode. By the end, all you really know are the names of the main characters, the fact that there are vampires, and that Franki is going to die in two weeks.

Maybe it's because I'm not really used to serials, but I just couldn't get into this one.

Still, for what little story there was, it wasn't terrible.

This book introduces us to Franki. One day she receives a bouquet of black roses with an invitation to a mysterious location. Franki and her friend decide to take the adventure of following this dangling carrot. The clincher was the sentiment at the bottom, which referred to Franki as Little Bird. A sentiment that Franki's now disappeared mom used to call her. Could she be trying to contact her? What she finds is the furthest thing from what she expected.

This story is so interesting and comes in 6 episodes. Such a tease but soooo good.

This is just as good as the peachville high demons series. I love that we get to see a different side to the witches and demons living in the human world. Peachville was structured and organized...you were able to see how the witches were initiated into the order, but it never really showed you what happened to witches who weren't a part of the order. I like that this series shows that other side and it doesn't hurt that it is also highly addicting.

It was ridiculously childish like a 13 years old girl was trying to guess how grown ups talk and act. My advice is if you are older than that don't waste your time on this one.

Great read

I have read all of Sarra Cannon’s Shadow Demon Saga and I am anxiously waiting to complete the series when Ms. Cannon releases “Emerald Darkness”. In the meantime, I find another strong female protagonist in “Sacrifice Me” to keep me happily reading Ms. Cannon’s work.

I put this one off for a long time. Boy was I wrong to do that! Just the right amount of mystery to start off what I feel like will be a furious, passionate race to the finish! I already downloaded the complete season!

After reading some heavy books about abusive parents, I needed a change of pace and tried this new urban fantasy series. This book read more like a prologue than a finished product but I was interested enough to read the entire installment.

Grade: 3/5

Awesome

I can't wait to read this series. Very short, ending with a cliff hanger. I'd advise to get the box set and just read the series. That's my plan*!*

I absolutely loved this book. It’s fast paced and pulls you straight in to the action.
After reading some reviews I thought this will be a very short book but it was not. And it is very gripping.
