Kate Leth is a Canadian author and illustrator working in comics, animation, design, and feelings. A grown-up goth and pop culture devotee, Kate specializes in work for kids and teens. Their comics work includes Patsy Walker, A.K.A. Hellcat!; Girl Over Paris; Spell on Wheels; and Adventure Time, among others.

They live in Halifax, Nova Scotia with an absolutely ridiculous cat and several regrets. They are queer and genderfluid/non-binary, a fact that greatly influences their work. Kate uses they/them pronouns, but probably won’t correct you.

My 5 year old asked me to start reading him comics. This was the perfect start for him, while being nostalgic for me. It had adventure, making thoughtful decisions, problem solving, working as a team, accepting new friends, and more. Nice.

Tus problemas... ¡déjalos! Para disfrutar... ¡Ven a Fraguel Rock!".

Oh, Sweet Nostalgia. The art in this was gorgeous and the story and all the singing was such a perfect throwback to the original! My only wish was that it longer! I can't get the theme song out of my head now. Man, the Fraggles were such a favorite of mine as a kid....

I love seeing the Jim Henson Company expanding into new mediums with the Fraggles, but there is only one medium that’s right for them: music and song.

Note: I read the individual issues, rather than the TPB.

This is probably the most beautiful I've ever seen the Fraggles drawn; the art and color is vibrant and brings the show to life better than any other comic I've seen. The story isn't bad either, as the main Fraggle friends explore the deeper caves to find where their water is gone. There are new friends made, and other surprises, all without any villains or particular challenges. It's nonthreatening and uplifting, which is how the Fraggles should be. I'm not going to claim it's going to stick with me for long, but it's a nice short romp with long-familiar friends that are always nice to check in with again. Especially when they look this good. But the details will fade from memory fairly quickly.

I think my not loving this book was my fault. It seems to hew closely to the formula of a Fraggle Rock episode (especially including a song(!) with a backing track). But I don't remember the formula of a Fraggle Rock episode.

I also don't remember Doozers being so chatty.

Still, it was charming and done with a lot of love. And it made me think about the theme song for a few hours. The theme song should have its own museum.

Cute.

It's been ages since I last watched Fraggle Rock (since it was when I was a kid, that was many, many years ago). I could actually remember some of the voices as I was reading this. And the theme song. It's a quick, easy read. The artwork is excellent and the plot pretty typical for an episode of the show.

And now I want a Doozer. They're too cute.
