SOPHIA

6 Months

A lot can happen in six months. A heart can break and heal countless times. A life can change so dramatically that it’s unrecognizable anymore.

Sophia was a ghost, a made up pseudonym on a fake ID that helped Alexis buy beer. She was never meant to become a real person. She was never meant to live. Breathe. Hurt. Love. It’s funny how one moment can alter the course of a lifetime. Now Alexis is a ghost, and Sophia is all that remains.

But what happens when the threats you’re terrified to acknowledge come true? What happens when your loved ones are in danger, and facing the past is the only way to save them?

The newest prospect of the Widow Makers Motorcycle club is about to find out.

REBEL

Louis James Aubertin III has always been single minded in his goal: bring down the Los Oscuros cartel, and kill Hector Ramirez for ordering the death of his uncle. Over the course of the last 6 months, things don’t seem that cut and dried anymore, though. If chasing down Hector means endangering the woman he loves, is it really worth the risk? If sending his club to war against one of the most dangerous cartels in the world means ruining the one good thing in his life, is the price worth paying?

Jamie will do anything to protect Sophia, but with Hector kidnapping her family members and demanding the greatest of ransoms, keeping her safe is beginning to seem like an impossible task.

"The power of such a love constantly feels like it’s about to overwhelm me, rob me of my senses, take what little control I have left within me and dash it into pieces. And it feels incredible."
description

Ransom is the third book in the Dead Man's Ink Series. I am thoroughly addicted to this series as it is full of non-stop action, smoking hot steam, a plot that doesn't stop, and complex characters! Callie Hart is like an enchantress drawing me in with every word she writes!
description
"No one has ever made me feel so safe. So protected."
Ransom begins six months after the conclusion of Rogue. Sophia and Rebel are together in every way, and life couldn't be sweeter. Sophia is quite busy as a new prospect for the club and spending time with Jamie underneath the sheets. Club life seems to be well suited for Sophia and yet, when the cartel begins to stir up more trouble, Jamie and Sophia find themselves right in the middle of the chaos.
“It’s all good, sugar. We have plenty of explosives of our own.”
As the cartel threatens to infiltrate the happy bubble Jamie has created for Sophia, tensions rise between the happy couple. Sophia wants to help and when Jamie's love and concern for her well-being threaten her ability to assert her desire to fight, their love is put to the test. Due to Sophia's current status as a "missing person", the stakes could not be higher!
"Ever since she became a prospect, she’s been proving herself braver and more ferocious than many of the oldest club members, though. She’s determined at all times to get her own way, to be involved, to change things somehow."
Told in dual POV, Ransom is another winning read for this series. The plot is continually increasing in intensity with action from the cartel and the ongoing threat of Sophia being "discovered". Additionally, the special bond between Jamie and his best friend Cade goes above and beyond the standard bonds (and understanding) of "brotherhood". The dialogue flows smoothly and keeps me "in the moment" with every flip of the page. All of that being said, my absolutely favorite element of this series is the relationship between Jamie and Sophia! The physical connection between the two is nothing short of electric and I am completely addicted!
"I fuck her with the force of a derailed freight train. After so much teasing, my dick is so sensitive, so hard, so ready to fuck that I have to fight off my own orgasm twice before I give in. Sophia’s thighs tighten around me, holding me deep inside her, my balls covered in her come, and I explode."
I truly cannot say enough about my love for this series. The complexity of the characters continue to blossom and the promise of what is to come only makes me more desperate for more! If you are looking for non-stop action, smoking hot romance, and a plot that doesn't stop then Ransom is a must read.

Callie Hart is one of those authors who can easily hold her readers hostage with her gritty and suspenseful prose. And in this third installment to the Dead Man’s Ink Series, Ms. Hart delivers a gritty, violent, raw, and wildly sexy romance that will have readers holding onto their breath as we are thrown once again in a whirlwind of duplicity, violence, death, and a war brewing between cartels and a MC.

#RansomCallie

Ransom picks off where it last left off in Rogue and this time death and war comes knocking on the door of Rebel, Sophia, and The Widow Makers MC gang. For six months, Sophia has lived, breathed, and integrated herself into the life of the club and most importantly into Rebel’s heart. There is nothing that Rebel wouldn’t do to protect Sophia and even if it means going to hell and back and killing any man that would inflict any harm on his woman. And so when Rebel and Cade learns that Hector has kidnapped Sophia’s dad and is holding him hostage in exchange for Sophia, Rebel knows that his biggest challenge is yet to come. And most importantly, war has been declared and this time Rebel has set his sights on Hector.

photo ac3db0fdb5fa3b9c4435af8f00dac2_zpsohui7lco.gif “He could really hurt me if he wanted to, and something about that knowledge tips me over the edge every time. I know with every molecule of my body that he never would hurt me. He makes threats and sometimes even promises, but it’s all bullshit. Under no circumstances would he ever do anything I didn’t want him to do, especially if it might cause me harm.”

Sophia never thought she would live this life. This wasn’t even suppose to be her life. But the funny thing with life, plans may change. The unexpected may happen. And for Alexis, she changed the moment she witnessed a murder and was rescued by Rebel. Alexis changed the moment she became Sophia, the newest prospect of The Widow Makers and most importantly as Rebel's other half. In embracing Rebel’s life, she knows that there was no turning back. And so when she was made aware that her father is being held captive, she makes it known to Rebel that he must rescue her father for her. And so begins the dangerous journey of Rebel, Sophia and his men rescuing Sophia’s dad and taking down one of the most powerful Mexican cartel. Will Rebel be able to fulfill his promise in rescuing her dad? Or will Hector outwit Rebel?

Ransom was truly one high-octane sexy suspenseful dark gritty romance. Ms. Hart didn’t hold anything back in this third installment. If you want violence, revenge, chicanery, and duplicity then this book had it all. So if are dying to know if Rebel and Sophia get their happily ever after then I guess you have to one-click to find out. But one thing, I can tell you is to prepare yourself for a story that will hold you hostage and have you begging Callie Hart for more of this series.

Six months after the ending of Rogue, we are back with Rebel/Jamie and the Widow Makers Motorcycle Club. With a strong foundation in place, Rebel and Sophia continue to move forward together with the ongoing issues affecting the club. However, Sophia isn’t prepared for the cartel’s latest tactic and it tests her bond with Jamie.

“It will all be worth it. I can see it now, and so can she.”

Cade is Jamie’s closest friend and they are practically brothers. After growing up and serving in the military together, Cade remains to be Jamie’s second in command in the club. In Ransom, we get to learn more about Cade and what makes him tick and those glimpses into his psyche are promising in some very kinky ways.

“Crazy bitches do make my dick hard. They make it very hard indeed.”

With Hector and his cartel, Rebel is forced to participate in his power play. In trying to maintain peace and keep his underground dealings quiet, all is disturbed when Hector ups the ante creating a situation where Rebel must act to protect his club and Sophia. Cade is as calculating as Jamie and is ready to eliminate Hector and his entire army.

“We can do crazy. It’s just how far you’re willing to go…”

description

Amidst preparing for war, Jamie remains focused and tries to shield Sophia as much as possible, but she has grown into a tough biker worthy of being Jamie’s lover, partner and a member of the club. For the past year, Sophia has been a prospect showing her loyalty to Rebel and to all the Widow Makers.

“If you weren’t in my life, sugar, I’d only be half a man. I wouldn’t trade knowing you, caring for you, loving you, for anything in the world.”

When Rebel decides to make his move against Hector, it is an eye for an eye and there is no turning back since the hierarchy of power shifts considerably in their world. Also lurking is the DEA just waiting for Rebel or any of the Widow Makers to make a careless mistake. And just when Rebel thinks he can relax, an old adversary becomes a problem.

“Rebel stands before me in all his savage glory, and I know without a doubt his head is back in the game.”

In Ransom, the action is turned up to full volume with parallel factions waging war to secure their place in the underworld. But amidst the chaos, Jamie and Sophia are able to develop into a true partnership. Jamie is all man and he wants to give Sophia a life of love and protection. Of course, Jamie is sexy as hell and he continues to get hotter and hotter.

description

“You want my cock inside you, too, Sophia? Jamie whispers. You want me to fuck you in your pussy while I fuck your ass, too?”

For me, the character development of Sophia and Jamie continued to stay on course. In the beginning of this series, I uncertain as to whether I would like Sophia, but now I have no doubts about her. Jamie just keeps better too! For those who like Callie’s writing, Ransom is an engaging and sexy read. As the series further delves into unanswered questions, other layers are revealed keeping the reader captivated along the way.

If you’re looking for some hot bikers with adrenaline pumping action, I highly recommend Ransom!

I love Dead Man's Ink series just as much as I loved Blood & Roses !

Oh MY Goodness, this series just keeps getting better and better! As a whole, Ransom is just as strong as the first two books in the series. The story continues where Rogue left off and it sucked me in from the very beginning.

Sophia/Alexis has now a dual role: Prospect for the MC and Rebel’s girlfriend. It’s been six months since Rebel/Jamie found her. When Alan Romera (Sophia’s dad) is abducted by the psycho Hector Ramirez head of one of the most dangerous Mexican cartel, Rebel’s making plans. Dangerous, bloody and illegal plans. His only goal is to save Alan and protect Sophia and his club at all costs. I was really on edge throughout the book wondering how everything would play out!

The heat continues to blaze between Sophia and Rebel. Geez, these two together ignite a fire that could keep the whole world warm!

I can’t get enough of Rebel ! He is one hot alpha with a sweet side when it comes to Sophia. When they are together Rebel is in full Jamie’s mode and not anymore the awe-inspiring fearsome Prez of the Widow Makers MC. He’s a man in love. I found his vulnerability toward her endearing and so sexy.

I loved watching Sophia develop more of a backbone as well. She became more of a partner with Rebel in this book, seeking more independence and holding her own against him when needed proving that they do indeed belong with one another.

We get a few chapter told from Cade’s POV (VP of the MC and Rebel’s best friend). I loved being in he’s screwed up yet oddly lucid and sexy head. I really hope that one day we get his story and see what his future holds.

I loved this series and went through all the emotions a good book is capable of giving. The kind that keeps you on your toes page to page giving you that adreline rush feeling.

The ending had me nervous! The clock is ticking….

I’m so bummed I have to wait to get my next Rebel fix! But as they say…Good things come to those who wait.

The idea of Sophia prospecting with the Widow Makers was laughable but this book was still a fun read and more comedic than book two of this series. Three POVs, action, messy drama, Rebel's filthy tongue, and the psychotic Maria Rosa made this one of my fav stories in this series!

Sophie's story is a hard one, but one I have been curious to read, this is such a good series!

Sophie and Rebel's story continues to unfold in Ransom, the third book in the Dead Man's Ink series. It's a surreal series to follow because the story being told fills in the reasons as to why they had stayed quiet for so long. Their silence initially appeared cruel but the reasoning for doing so is glaringly obvious.

Again, the focus is for the main characters to overcome their personal issues and continue their fight for justice...vigilante style. They have pressure coming from every side possible, family, law enforcement and cartels just to name a few! The story at times is heart-wrenching, definitely suspenseful with most of what is driving the evil nature of this story is greed and lack of respect for others.

'It's strange how time and exposure to violence can dull its impact on you. It's strange how one decision can change your life forever.'

From the beginning, Sophia has been confronted with a living nightmare. The upside is she has never felt more alive. Rebel has shown her what it is like to live with a man who is able to take control in all facets of life. After pleading his case for her to help him, he now has to live with the responsibility of the price they both will need to pay for her to do so. The taste of revenge and victory sustains their fight for theirs and others survival.

While the situation they face is horrendous, there are lighter moments where their banter eases the tension, illustrating the love and respect they have for each other. There's an element of playfulness to their relationship which initially was hard to read considering what she escaped from but as it's consensual it doesn't compare. Together they make a great team, complimenting each other and solidifying their choice to be the people they have become.

What I struggled with:
*Staying calm when loved ones are suffering
*The prospect angle - still seems weird
*Shay and her bitterness
*The cheapness of life

What I loved:
*Sophie standing up for herself
*Heirlooms
*Her father
*James / 'Rebel'
*Cade

Callie Hart does it again!! This was another awesome book to add to the series.

Rebel is as amazing as ever and I fall in love with him just a little bit more with every story.

I love watching Sophia grow and become this incredibly strong and capable woman. She is perfect for Rebel!!

This book shows us the kidnap of Alan Romera (Sophia's father), which forces Sophia to admit her true identity to Rebel. She can no longer run from who she used to be. Instead of pushing them apart, the truth just pulls them closer together and they move on to the next stage of their relationship.

There are so many things going on in this book, there was never a dull moment. There are some things left hanging at the end of the book, regarding Maria Rosa and I cannot wait to see where Callie Hart will take these characters next :D

"If you weren't in my life, sugar, I'd only be half a man. I wouldn't trade knowing you, caring for you, loving you, for anything in the world."

3.5 stars

It pains me to only give this 3.5 stars but it just felt unfinished. I loved Rebel but Sophie just wasn't one of my favourite héroïnes. There just were so many unanswered questions and half truths. And oh god Cade better get his own story!!! I think I'll have to go back and read the Blood and Roses series and look for some answers in there. ;)

I was given this book an exchange for a honest review. Spoiler Ahead Read At Your Own Risk.
This was book three in the "Dead Man's Ink Series" It's been six months since Rebel rescued Alexis "Sophia" from Julio and the death of Raphael Dela Vega and they are in love. I love reading this series and I have loved Rebel since he showed up "Blood and Roses" series. Sophia is now a prospect for the Widow Makers and she is doing the things that prospects do like cleaning the clubhouse and making breakfast. This book had a lot going on in it they had flashbacks of Cade and Rebel's time in the army they are also holding Maria Rosa on lock down and although he knows she's crazy Cade still wants her. When Hector Ramirez kidnapped Sophia's father to get to her because of what she saw. Rebel is willing to do what ever it takes to get him back alive. DEA agent Denise Lowell is breathing down the clubs neck and then their is Shay who is having sex with Carnie who I think wants Rebel because she is seriously jealous of Sophia. Rebel and Sophia has some hot as hell sex in this book and the motel scene was hot. This book had some serious action in it also. I love reading Callie's books they also have some hot alpha males like Rebel and Zeth Mayfair. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling like the rest of her books. I am hoping that Callie writes more about Cade in the future. I am really looking forward to reading the next chapter in Rebel and Sophia's lives. If you like reading about hot alpha males and biker's than I recommend that you read this series.

Callie! Callie! Callie! What are you doing to me?

This series just keeps me guessing over and over again. Just when I think I know what's going to happen, Ms Hart throws another spanner in the works.

Rebel/Jamie is still sexy AF, in fact I can confidently say he's even more so as his relationship with Sophia progresses. I'm having a serious fictional crush on him.

Sophia on the other hand is a little harder to love, but love her I do. Yes she's as stubborn as they get and just won't do as she's told half the time which often gets her into a world of trouble, but I do believe she is slowly learning that Rebel is right most of the time.

The story itself is just as gripping and some of the scenes made me wince a little but that's hardly surprising when we're dealing with the Widow Makers MC and the Mexican Cartels.

I cannot praise this book and series highly enough and if I had one criticism it would be that I think I would have loved it even more if the books were read back to back, but quite honestly im just honoured to once again be given the opportunity to read Callie's book.

I'm going to end my review by saying that I'm almost certain there's more to come from this series, whether that be another book featuring Rebel and Sophia or perhaps one of the other characters, but either way it is clear there is much more to come.

Ransom is book 3 in the Dead Man's Ink series which follows Sophia and Rebel on their many interesting travels which are ALWAYS full of action, trouble and lots of smoking hot sexy scenes.

The story picks up 6 months after Rogue's ending. For those 6 month Sophia has lived and breathed The Widow Maker's MC building a stronger bond with Rebel and everyone in the club. After hearing about her fathers kidnapping Sophia is dead set on helping bring him home. That's all I'm going to say, I'm not spoiling this beauty for anyone.

Ransom was is filled with non-stop action, suspenseful scenes and so many surprising twists and turns that you just won't see coming until they slap you in the face.

Callie Hart is an incredible writer, she puts everything into her work and makes the story real, her characters are on point and always have you loving them, They're the kind of characters one will never forget. If you're looking for an MC book filled with suspense, violence, scorching hot sex and some sexy badass bikers then this book is most definitely for you. I seriously hope there's another book coming for this series, Rebel is my absolute favourite MC president EVER, there will never be one to take his place. I need more Rebel in my life. Hah

So. F*cking. Good!
Oh my my, Miss Callie Hart never fails to amaze me with her flawless, wonderful, out-of-this-world writing.

Ransom picks up where Rouge left off and it sucks you right back into Rebel and Soph/Alexis' story. Gritty, at times raw and violent but also sexy and I'd say even romantic in its own way. Well, everything you may be expecting from the author and hell, does she deliver. I love this story so much, I hope it never ends. So good, I don't even mind these books not being lengthy or ending on cliffhangers and that says a lot.

Step aside Zeth, I officially choose Rebel over you, honey. I mean, if I have to choose. I'm fine taking them both.

⭐️ 5 addicting stars ⭐️

While Sophia accepts her new life she needs to confront her past, her guilt for not going back to her family, she can finally accepts that she’s in love with Rebel, however, she also needs to part with the woman she was before. In order to become who she was always meant to be she needs to shed her old skin. As she undergoes this path of rebirth an unexpected bend sends her off the rails. It’s time to bring on her best game to protect what’s hers.

Rebel proves to be a great leader as well as an awesome partner, he shows times and times again how strongly he feels for Sophia, at the same time he keeps his humour challenging continuously and letting her grow without smothering her. It goes without saying he’s no saint so there might be some naughty underhanded push here and there. It’s all for her benefit though.

Jamie will tear his throat out on the street in front of countless witnesses and risk going to prison if it means keeping her safe.

This is the last book in this magnificent journey. Callie Hart built a stunning world, she waves a stellar story with a solid plot delivering twist and turns that kept me glued to the pages with anticipation for what would come next. The characters in the story are captivating both primary and secondary, they are described in depth, their development is gradual and well planned, it was a pleasure to experience how they grew to become who they were meant to be while they embraced their destiny.

Title: Ransom
Author: Callie Hart
Series: Dead Man's Ink #3
Genre: biker/crime romance
Rating: ****

The best aspect of this trilogy is seeing Sophia's character development, growing from a sheltered girl into a strong woman, getting in on all the action and refusing to be left behind. One of Hart's strengths is in writing interesting female characters who can hold their own in a highly anti-female world, partly through their relationships but also by their own right, too. That being said, I don't feel that anything could possibly top the climax of Rogue, although this did come close.

This world is beautifully constructed, with so many characters and interlinking plots, containing all the intricate, delicious and dangerous details. The plot of Ransom did not disappoint, based around an important character being abducted by the infamous Hector Ramirez. With some steamy moments, some heart-racing moments and some absolutely grim violent detail, Hart never holds back and this just adds to the realism of the series.

I'm sad to see the end of the Dead Man's Ink series, not least because Rebel is one of my all-time favourite book boyfriends, but I can't wait to delve back into this world, the detail of which is its greatest strength and keeps readers coming back for more. Someone really needs to give this universe a Wikia site.

DNF. After a week of reading, I couldn't get through the book. It's not that it was so bad but I just lost interest and didn't care about the outcome. I usually will read a book in a couple of days but after a week, I have given up. Below is my assessment of the book.

PROS
- good sex scenes

CONS
- I got 55% through the book and nothing has happened. We find out about one kidnapping and that is it. This series is probably going to be like the Blood and Roses series where there are 6 books when it should have been written in three.
- Rebel is suppose to be this bad ass, lethal person but in three books there is not any evidence of this. They talk about how he has done bad things but in 3 books there is no evidence. He has not killed or fought anyone and his enemies keep one upping him. Just because he is in a MC and has tattoos does not mean he is a tough guy. At least in Blood and Roses, we see Zeth kill men so we know he is dangerous.
- having trouble liking Sophia. All I can think about is how selfish and cowardly she is for not telling her family that she is alive. Not only did her sister sell her virginity for information on her where a bouts but Sloane puts herself in danger multiple times to find her sister.

I love this series!!!!
Rebel and Sophia are back and boy have I missed them. Following on from the last book, Ransom is full of action, twists and turns and it's unbelievably hot. With Rebels enemies closing in, he has to make some pretty difficult decisions. Determined to do whatever it takes to protect Sophia and her family, he goes full steam ahead with his could-go-either-way plan.
Like all the books in this series, it's very faced paced. The rollercoaster twists will keep you guessing and leave you desperate for the next instalment. Another fantastic book from Callie Hart.

My oh my, Callie did not disappoint! This book gets you even deeper into the crazy that is Rebel and Sophie's life. The things you learn from the past that haunt Rebel, the ever deepening love between the two. You get to hear about Cade and some other favorite characters of Callie's.
This is all a recipe for a deliciously sexy, crazy as crazy can be, twisting story. That leaves you begging for more.
