Tessa Campbell is a woman in an impossible situation. As the owner of an event planning company, her days are usually filled celebrating the best moments of people's lives, but all of that changes when her father makes a grievous mistake that may cost him the job he loves. He is depending on her to fix his mistake, but nothing is ever as simple as it seems. In order to save him, she must find a way to reason with his boss...the man everyone calls The Beast.
Drake Vidal has a dangerous reputation. A ruthless business man who has taken Vidal Labs and Technology to the top of the industry, he expects perfection from everyone who works for him. He has never believed in love, but all it takes is one look at the gentle beauty that comes to him to plead for her father for him to lose his heart. Can she find a way to see beyond the savage veneer he portrays to the world to discover the good hidden beneath, or will she think he isn't worth taming? For who could ever really love a beast?
Laurie Roma mainly writes contemporary, romantic suspense, fantasy, and sci-fi romance. She can usually be found tapping away on her keyboard, creating worlds for her characters while she listens to music. Of course, her playlist depends on her mood…but then again, so does her writing. She loves to hear from her readers and can be reached at [email protected].
3.0 RATING- I didn't like this book as much as the second book in the series. Overall it was cute and sweet but too many internal monologues especially in the beginning. Still an okay read for those that have Kindle Unlimited and are short on time and looking for something quick to read. I've read a few books from this author now and do enjoy her stories usually.

I loved this story. We have Drake who has the reputation for being standoffish, and condescending. But there is more than meets they eye. There is a story behind his behavior. I loved the way he was towards Tessa. How he was smitten from the beginning. He just wanted to get to know her,and be with her. Even if it was in odd roundabout way, but that's because he didn't know what to do. This book was already going to get a good rating. But automatic five star when I read this: "she loved him, and he was going to claim her before she changed her mind...." And when he said this. "This —what we have between us— will never be over. You belong to me. You have since I met you."
This book was awesome, between the interactions between Tessa and Drake, his thoughts, and the banter between Drake and his friends. I hope the other guys get stories.
Oh my gosh, this was one of the best, romantic stories I've read in a long time. There was no back and forth, no angst, no hurt feelings, just a love story. It was incredible. For a short read, the author outdid herself with the character development. I feel like I really got to know Tessa and Drake. You have to get your hands on this ome!
This book was pretty okay. It was easy to read. Not very in depth. It lacked, well, more. Had it been a novel instead of a novella, I probably would have enjoyed it more. That said, it was entertaining. Nothing I would re-read, but interesting enough to hold my attention until the end.
I actually didn’t like much about this. It feels more like someone telling the story of a couple. The way the viewpoints change every other paragraph is weird. I don’t think I will read any more by this author.
It sweet funny and romantical a fine twist to beauty and the beast.. he’s thought to be beastly by him rude demeanor she’s as sweet as can be. Can she charm him.?
This was a cute little story. I enjoyed reading it but I felt it lacking in some places. There seemed to be be an instant attraction between the two. Fortunately, they didn't act on it until they got to know each other better. I just don't feel like there was any real reason for them to love eachother. For a good romance story, I need to feel like there is a reason that the H and h care for eachother. It seemed a bit forced. Other than that, this story was a pretty good read.
Even though i don't prefer reading books written in third person, i totally loved this one!!! So there was no choise to give the 5 stars here! Easy to read,no angst with happy-happy ending.......what else can i ask?Nada......
P.S. There are not a lot of steamy scenes in this books but those that exist are enough to make you ho*ny!!!!if you know what i mean.... ;))))))
Great romantic story, loved the characters and the situation, though she could have made our hero work a little harder for her, but a great ending. Hope to see more stories about his circle of friends getting the right lady's.
I loved loved this book. Loved the storyline and oh my word the characters were just perfect and so sweet. Loved it from start to finish, can't fault it at all. Had the HEA ending and I just loved it. Looking forward to the next book in this series!
I really did love this book it was a classic love story yes Drake was an alpha male but he wasn't obsessed with Tessa. The both fell hard for the other and it was truly sweet.
A contemporary beauty and the beast story. I wasn't sure I would enjoy it but I really warmed to the hero and his band of misfit brothers. I wasn't sure the storyline with the father was explored enough but other than that I really enjoyed this story. I hope the other guys get their own stories.
I adore this book. Writing is witty and characters are well defined and so engaging. This sucked me in. I was just going to read a happier or two and before I knew it, I just kept reading one more until I was finishing the book. Really enjoyed this book .
