Not worth it, except for the stories.

A companion book for the Percy Jackson series, containing several items like a map of Camp Half-Blood, interviews with several protagonists, three original short stories, and other assorted goodies like guides, pictures, letters, puzzles and games.

★★★☆☆ Percy Jackson and the Bronze Dragon. [3.5]
★★★☆☆ Percy Jackson and the Sword of Hades.
★★★☆☆ Percy Jackson and the Stolen Chariot. [2.5]
★★☆☆☆ Interviews with Percy / Clarisse / Annabeth / Stoll Brothers / Grover [1.5]
★★☆☆☆ Guide of Weapons / Gods / Monsters [1.5]
★★☆☆☆ Letters, Map, Pictures.[1.5]
★☆☆☆☆ Puzzle, Games, other stuff.

The only thing I hold dear from this book are the three short stories, which were fairly good, endearing and enjoyable. Everything else felt way too childish for my liking, even for Middle Grade. The content barely serious at all.

-----------------------------------------------
PERSONAL NOTE :
[2009] [151p] [Fantasy] [Partly Recommendable]
-----------------------------------------------

★★★★☆ 1. The Lightning Thief
★★★★☆ 2. The Sea of Monsters [4.5]
★★★★★ 3. The Titan's Curse
★★★★☆ 4. The Battle of the Labyrinth
★★★★☆ 5. The Last Olympian [4.5]

-----------------------------------------------

★★★☆☆ Percy Jackson y la Espada de Hades.
★★★☆☆ Percy Jackson y el Carruaje Robado. [2.5]
★★☆☆☆ Entrevista con Percy / Clarisse / Annabeth / Hermanos Stoll / Grover [1.5]
★★☆☆☆ Guía de Armas / Dioses / Monstruos [1.5]
★★☆☆☆ Cartas, Mapa, Dibujos. [1.5]
★☆☆☆☆ Acertijos, Juegos, otras cosas.

-----------------------------------------------
NOTA PERSONAL :
[2009] [151p] [Fantasía] [Parcialmente Recomendable]

"Pony on fire!"

Not a lot to tell about Demigod files. It's a very very short collection of quests and some interview type sections with some of the characters. This is not at all a must-read along with the main series as non of the books of main stories had any loose ends (which is a good thing). Quests are fun, but very short and not that adventurous. But the interviews were a nice touch.

Si por mí fuera, leería a cinco autores durante toda mi vida: Rick Riordan, J. K. Rowling, Laura Gallego, Patrick Rothfuss y Sarah J. Maas. LONG MAY THEY REIGN!

I enjoyed reading this so much, I loved the short stories. Gotta say that my favorite was the one with the dragon, just because it had both Percy and Annabeth in it.

“In a way, it's nice to know that there are Greek gods out there, because you have somebody to blame when things go wrong. For instance, when you're walking away from a bus that's just been attacked by monster hags and blown up by lightning, and it's raining on top of everything else, most people might think that's just really bad luck; when you're a half-blood, you understand that some devine force is really trying to mess up your day.”

Content/ Trigger Warnings-
Alcohol consumption mentioned, Immolation, Animal attack, Animal death

Note- I have tried to include all the content warnings that I noticed, but there is no guarantee that I haven’t missed something.

-No mention of these in the review-

The Demigod Flies is a novella in the Percy Jackson Series. There's nothing really to 'review' about this book. I really liked the stories and the fact that we get a bit more insider information on these characters. The banter between them was really sweet. Overall, it was a fun read.

“You stood up to the dragon so Beckendorf would have his chance to jump - now that was brave."
"Or pretty stupid."
"Percy, you're a brave guy," she said. "Just take the compliment. I swear, is it so hard?”

The Stoll brothers are my heroes. Their interview with Rick Riordan... maybe Rick is my hero? I'm not really sure anymore, I'm just so thankful for him.

The interview with Annabeth! She's so special, so well spoken. I don't think she was ever less than 25 years old. When she said she'd want Percy to fight with her as long as she gets to tell him what to do. I love her.

I love how Percy tells everyone.. ever.. you do NOT want to be a demigod. Sir, I DO!

My favorite of the novellas in this series was definitely the bronze dragon. But then again, is that a surprise? Anything revolving around Percabeth is my favorite.

Let me preface this review by saying that I love the Percy Jackson and the Olympian Series. I recommend it to kids all the time, and have read the first four books. I did not like this little addition. I have to admit I was mightily turned off by the little Disney logo next to the Hyperion imprint. Intellectual snob? Little ole me?

Maybe the Disney thing wouldn't have left such an impression had the pictures included with the text not resembled so many a Disney character. Did Chiron have to look like Gaston from Beauty and the Beast? Annabeth looks ready for stores shelves as "Tomboy Skipper" (With New Adventures Included!).

The stories themselves seemed a bit forced to me. The only thing I really liked about the book was the last segment teasing the reader with a preview of the final book. Riordan's voice seemed more like his own to me there than in the other shorts. Those felt as though he was trying to cram as much action as possible with no storyline to back them up.

I had high hopes for this little ditty, but I was let down by what seemed like a gratuitous, money-making ploy.

This was so cute. It made me feel a bit nostalgic for the first Percy Jackson series. A very enjoyable companion, I wish I read this before I read the Heroes of Olympus series. But I am glad that I read it nonetheless. I think my favorite short story thing was how Bob the Titan came to be. Would recommend this for sure.

I'm super excited to read this, and to go on to the next series. Percy is growing up and it's weird, but great.

This book was great on so many levels! The short stories were great, wish I read them sooner 😌

Okay, I’m going to be honest with you so you don’t have to read the whole thing. All you need to read is Percy Jackson and the Sword of Hades, because the whole entire story introduces a new character and gives you a background story for when that new character plays a very big role in The Heroes of Olympus: The House of Hades. You will not be able to fully understand the House of Hades without reading Percy Jackson and the Sword of Hades. And in Heroes of Olympus: Blood of Olympus it mentions what happens in Percy Jackson and the Stolen Chariot. You’re welcome!

Percy Jackson and the Sword of Hades- 5⭐️

Percy finds himself stuck yet again on another quest. He has to find something missing of Hades with Thalia and Nico. Can’t say anything else without spoiling it

Percy Jackson and the Stolen Chariot- 5⭐️

As much as I hate to admit it, I liked Clarisse in this story. Clarisse is given the responsibility of taking care of her father’s, Ares, chariot. But then someone steals the chariot and Percy helps Clarisse get it back. This was surprisingly really entertaining, seeing as I hated Clarisse in the pjo series.

Percy Jackson and the Bronze Dragon- 3.5⭐️

Okay, first of all, Silena was unbearable in this. But this is biased, because I never liked her. Anyways, during Capture the Flag, while Percy and Beckendorf are on one team, with Silena and Annabeth on the other. When Beckendorf finds a bronze dragon he follows it. The ending 🤭 a sprinkle of percabeth!

This book also has a crossword, word scramble, interviews with characters, portraits, letter from Camp Half-Blood, and a map of Camp Half-Blood.

The Demigod Files is more of a companion novel to the series than actually part of the series itself...I think. The book contains various mini-bios on a few of the main characters and gods. As well as a map of the camp grounds and a few other features that are sure to please any fan of the series.
In my opinion, the biggest bonuses of the book are the three short stories that it contains. Now, I'm not sure if the stories are completely separate from the overall plot of the series and therefore have no bearing, or if they do play a role in the things to come. Given that the characters present are in line with the most current book out, I'm led to believe that the stories are somewhat a part of the series. In which case, if you are reading the series you should check this book out.
While not long at all, this book really wet my appetite until the final book comes out in May. Again, if you are a fan of Percy Jackson, then you have to take a look at this book. If you are new to the series, don't start with this one as it will give away many plot details. I'd start with The Lightning Thief

"Percy, you’re a brave guy," she said. "Just take the compliment. I swear, it is so hard?" We locked eyes. Our faces were, like, two inches apart. My chest felt a little funny, like my heart was trying to do jumping jacks. - The Demigod Files

Yes, I know that the Percy Jackson's series was aimed at a younger audience.
Yes, I will continue reading and loving them until I am a withered old woman.

The Demigod Files is a collection of three short stories, interviews of the characters, fact files of the Greek gods, and activities from Camp Half-Blood.

I enjoyed it. It wasn't that great but good. I am reading this after reading majority of HoO books, so the characters in here are of more significance to me. Out of the 3 stories, the sword of Hades has to be my favorite. It was the longest and was well rounded. Of course I am happy to have any extra Nico content. The interviews were a nice touch. I had forgotten how much I love Percy as a narrator. That was a plus here. But the illustrations though...hmm not a big fan. I have seen much better character fanarts and I would happily erase these from my memory. Overall a good addition to the camp half blood chronicles.

3.5 🌟
