Room 105

Rate this book
When Alison Smith books a room in a hotel for a wedding, she had no idea that it is the beginning of a friendship that will last for years. In a case of mistaken identity, Room 105 is double booked and Alison and her son find themselves forced into sharing with another mother and son with the same surname-Abigail and Ryan Smith. With the hotel fully booked, and no other options available, the two women decide to put up with the situation and share the large room for their short time there.
After the wedding, and with the two boys getting on famously, Alison and Abigail have the chance to sit down and talk…and they soon find they have a great deal in common with each other. With a new friendship established, they exchange details and promise to meet up soon.
Alison and Abigail stay in touch, and in the autumn which follows, decide to meet in Devon to celebrate their birthdays-which happen to be four days apart. They book Room 105 and upon meeting again, find that nothing has changed and that their friendship is as strong as ever-if not stronger. When they part it is with sadness, as once again they are happy and content in each other’s company-and in the most wonderful seaside destination also.
Alison and Abigail stay in touch over the next few years and support each other through varied difficult experiences along the way. Despite living a long way from each other, their relationship remains steadfast; until they meet again in Room 105.
This time, there is a shift in Alison and Abigail’s relationship, and when Abigail reveals that she is in love with Alison, Allie doesn’t know what to do. It has changed everything. A shared kiss leads to a night together but ultimately ends their relationship and keeps them apart for the next ten years. When they meet again, will they be able to figure out what is going to become of their feelings for one another?
Find out in…Room 105.

An enjoyable romance from a talented writer.

I'm glad that I read this lovely book by Anna Samuels. Since she started to write longer works of lesfic, I always make sure to grab these books. The latest is no different. Two single mothers with sons meet during a wedding party. With chemistry brewing and fate intervening, they developed a lasting friendship. Separate choices force them apart for a long time. The plot may not be suspenseful, but it is satisfying.

A sweet romance that includes coming to terms with your sexuality and dealing with family life amongst other ideas. Enjoyed the overall story, however, found it simplistic, which matched the writing style...the main reason this was 3* for me.
