Jackson & Jillian were a couple from the time they were little together. When they were fifteen, they declared they were in love. The course of true love never runs smoothly though & something happened. Jackson started avoiding Jillian & told her to leave him alone. Now, after 10 years of avoiding each other & attempting to move on with someone new, Jillian has had enough. Her old boyfriend is back in town & boy, how the Marines have changed him. Is it the time right for him yet? Or will Jackson admit the truth?

I really enjoyed this one. Ms. Edmisten writes a witty & sarcastic dialogue that really fits this story. I want to be Jillian!! The writing is so perfectly descriptive that you picture the scenes in your mind as you read. There was on scene that I could see so vividly, I laughed out loud while reading it. And I can't tell you about it because I don't do spoilers!! Believe me, you'll be able to tell which one! I think that everyone will enjoy this novella, especially if you like a strong, tough female.

Second chance at love

This is a Kindle Worlds novella for the “Sapphire Falls” series written by Erin Nicholas. I have not read any books in that series, but I got this novella as it is written by one of my favourite authors. Despite not having read any of the other books, I didn’t find the story confusing in any way. The main characters of the story, Jillian and Jackson used to be inseparable, until a tragic event tore them apart. Jackson cast Jillian aside without ever really explaining to her why. Years later and neither one of them has truly moved on. Maybe it’s time for them to clear the air and give their love a second chance.

This life long love story between Jillian and Jackson is truly that, a story that spans their entire life. I really enjoyed seeing the flashbacks of their moments together as kids, then teens. The friendship, love and then ultimate heartbreak. Jackson just had no idea how to deal with the death of his mom. He knew he didn't want to end up like his father from love. So he did the only thing he knew to do, push Jill away. Jillian had loved Jackson her whole life, even after he pushed her away. She tried to dig in her heels and stay, but a girl can only take so much rejection and hurt.
These two went 10 years with no relationship at all. Even though Jill wanted to hate Jack, she couldn't. No matter how hard Jack tried to forget Jill, it was impossible. Some meddling family members are all it took to make these two see that they belong together.
I enjoyed the story! While I'm not a fan of instant forgiveness, it was still a good read. I wish there would have been more of an apology and groveling on Jacksons part, but maybe that's just not who Jillian is, to need that. Solid 3 star read for me!

What a story! Jillian and Jackson had been best of friends since they were very young. They did everything together. They were destined to be together forever. Then the tragic happened and Jackson lost his Mom. He witnessed first hand the destruction that the loss of love caused his father and swore he'd never fall in love...even though he was in love with Jill. When his Mom died, Jackson pushed Jill away and wouldn't have anything to do with her out of fear. Years later they find their way back together and its still not roses and champagne...but Jill wants it to be. Jackson takes a lesson the hard way by knee to come to his senses. Throw in a set of match making parents, a nosey sister, a strong willed Grandfather and an ex-boyfriend and you've got enough comedy to make you laugh til your sides hurt! A wonderful addition to the Sapphire Falls family and series.

Jillian and Jackson were young and in love, then something happened and they've been avoiding each other for ten years. Has Jackson changed? Is Jillian going to forgive? Trish Edmisten writes some good, snarky conversation that will make you laugh, and you can picture what is going on very clearly. This is a very enjoyable second chance read. The writing was good with a very nice story that flowed well. I think you'll enjoy it. I did.
