Ezekiel Malachi Jacobson or Zeke (Seraph)

When Zeke got his MBA, he didn't expect to end up penniless with a huge student's loan and a job that he hates listening to the complaints of people.
He hates his life: Where is that Pink Power Ranger babe who was supposed to kidnap me and make me part of her merry band?

Zeke will start hearing voices when his granduncle dies and suddently he will start seeing angels and he will become a Necrodemian, a demon executioner.
I can safely say that his life changes drastically by the end of this short story. Maybe we need more stories about his new interesting (still penniless) life.

The story is also published with a different name: Where Angels Fear To Tread

Zeke works a soul-sucking job and basically hates what his life has become. Everything suddenly and irrevocably changes when he finds an ancient coin among his recently deceased great-uncle's possessions, and before he knows what's hit him he gets a visit from an angel and is told that he is now a demon-fighting seraph tasked with protecting humanity.

This was a fun-sized read clocking in at 15 pages, but regardless of the small word count, I was just as engaged as I always tend to be when Sherrilyn Kenyon is responsible for my reading.

Note: I read a version of this story that has an alternative title to the one listed here (i.e. Where Angels Fear To Tread) and is readily available in the Dark-Hunter anthology Dark Bites.

When this was just starting to get good it ended. I wish that we learned more about Zeke and his family background. I wanted to know more about his uncle and what made him choose this life.
