Somehow, it’s always about the money. Sharon Saluda, in her junior year at Pisgah College, doesn’t have nearly enough of it, and a diploma is her ticket out of the narrow confines of small town life in Jacob’s Bluff, NC. A career as a stripper seems a promising solution, but when that ends badly, a desperate Sharon capitalizes on that most basic of needs—sex—by matching up college coeds with faculty clientele.

Her job description takes a dramatic uptick when Connor Shaw arrives and wants her as his own—for a very good price, of course. She takes the plunge, body and soul, because this man is gorgeous, ridiculously wealthy, and the sex is out of this world. But there’s always a catch…right?

I was so conflicted when writing the review for this book because on the one hand I thought the writing was really good but the storyline let it down a little. Although my interest was kept from beginning to end there were times when I just wanted a little bit more. I have to admit it did not go where it thought it would so that was a good surprise and I liked that it wasn’t predictable. I’ve not read anything by this author before and I really enjoyed the development of the characters. This was another huge plus side for this story! The main character was so complex but I found her really relatable too. The sex scenes were written particularly well and I could feel the intense sexual chemistry between Sharon and Connor.
The story does have a slow start but worth sticking with I think. I enjoyed it the more I read on and the twists and turns in it were good! I would probably read more by this author in the future.

This is the first time I have read a book by this author, and I must say that I am glad that I found his work. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The characters meet, and the meeting is not under the greatest of situations but an unexpected connection occurs. What happens when your survival depends on doing something that you thought you would never do? Could you find happiness with someone that has secrets? Sharon is like many college kids, wanting her freedom but trying to find the funds to make it possible. Stripping was her idea to help that situation, but that did not work out as planned. After her dreams start falling by the wayside, she makes a drastic decision that impacts her life. This book will keep the reader entertained and engrossed from the start. Thank you Reading Alley for allowing me to read this and write a honest review.

HOT AND JUICY READ

This hot and juicy read kept me enthralled for 400+ pages, which is quite a feat. The protagonist's dark and detailed background elucidates her motivation and complexity. The main characters are expertly constructed. They're complicated and believable, which makes for exciting sex scenes. After a rather slow start the narrative picks up the pace and maintains a nice rhythm. What I appreciate the most about this book is the unpredictability. I was definitely surprised by the twists and turns.

I kind of enjoyed my time reading this book, it kept me all through the end which is good, because lately I found that being very difficult. I am wondering though how many readers will judge our main character beyond her relationship with Connor, beyond the hot scenes.

From writing perspective, I have no complains whatsoever. The plot moved a little slow initially, but that helped set the mood for what’s to come. If I must be picky, I didn’t like that much the names used for the main characters and some of the places. They just did not sound well to my ears. But again, this has nothing to do with the writing quality. The story has a twist somewhere which is enough to keep you captivated, or at least curious of what’s going to happen. And that’s another good thing.

Looking at the characters, I was afraid that once the relationship between the two starts, all the other problems will get lost between the hot scenes. Even if the connection between Sharon and Connor felt a little forced, what happens between them will really set you on fire.

But there is also something else that need to be discussed after reading this book – which is girl turning to stripping or sexual favors for money. The book raises awareness and as well some questions when it comes to that. I personally don’t like the idea, but I also don’t judge the ones who do it. There is also a story behind any of us and, as they say, you cannot judge a book by its cover. However, I would have liked more depth to this theme. It would have taken my rating closer to the 5 stars.

All in all, this was not a bad read at all. I enjoyed it very much, even though I wanted and expected more. The scenes are well created, we have enough background about the characters and it is not at all easy to read or follow. Final rating is 4 stars. Hope you like it too!

This was an interesting book. It did not go where I expected it to go. It seemed to be trying to be "too much" if that makes any sense. There was the call girl for a college story line, and then the high class call girl/money embezzling story line, and then the bit that occurs in Ireland. I think it would have been better if it was split into a few different books, and that the individual story lines were given more time/detail. The characters needed to be more developed. I did not feel attached to any of them and honestly wouldn't have been upset if Sharon had been killed at some point in the story, which sounds awful of me. It was hard to follow at times. I thought about not finishing it several times, but alas, wanted to see what happened, which is a good sign I suppose.

This was a story that was full of surprises and twists. It most definitely was steamy, lots of drama, and a very creative story line. The characters were easy to get to know and get invested in, and just added to the twists and turns as the story played out, which made it very intriguing. From the where the story ended, you would never be able to tell from the way it begins. This definitely wasn't your typical steamy read - it had twists, turns, and lots and lots of drama - although, there were times when I just thought that Sharon was sex-starved woman, that wanted to dip her toes into everyone's pond. It did leave me with more questions than the author, or editors, allowed for the general reader to see.

Reviewed on behalf of 3 degrees of fiction. This is the first book I have read by this author and I will definately read more. The plot was really good, I find most books to be predictable but I had no idea how this was going to end. I really enjoyed the background of the main character and the chemistry between her and Conner. This book could easily have been 5 stars however I just felt there were a couple of places where the story dragged or didn't make complete sense. The start of the book is a little slow but I thought it was good to fill in how the business got started and introducing different characters. Overall a very happy reader.

I have mixed opinions on this book and at times found it difficult to read and follow which is my rating is 4 stars and not 5.
The plot was slow moving at first but this helped with setting what was to come later in the story. The story also had a twist in it which kept me wanting to continue to read and find out what happens. I couldn’t really get a feel for the characters which I am normally able to do maybe this is because the relationship between Sharon and Connor felt slightly forced and this is another reason the rating is only 4 stars.

I found this read to be very intriguing. The story is fast paced with plenty of drama and suspense. Sharon and Connor have great chemistry. The story moved a little slow for me in the beginning and I had a bit of trouble connecting with the characters. Overall the story is entertaining with a bit of steam. A good read.

Steamy and very well written. It's like 50 shades of grey with a plot and a few unexpected turns. It's a good read and be warned, you might feel a need to take a cold shower at several points in the book.

Screwed by Mike Owens was an intriguing story. It was fast paced but yet easy to follow, with a good mix of sexy and suspense. The characters was all believable, which I credit to the good writing and flow of the story line.
Overall a good sexy book!
