This time… Catch wants it all.

The girl who used the safeword and walked away.

For months, Lana’s tried to carry on with her duty—her mission into the deep. She’s tried to let Catch go… and failed.

When a state of emergency forces their paths to collide, there’s only so long Lana can resist the man who brought her to her knees. Only so long Catch can hold himself back from all he really wants.

Harder.
Darker.

Gosh, it feels like it’s been forever since Catch and Lana’s epic break up in Deep, but I am so happy to be back in their orbit!

Catch and Lana have been apart for months—neither one of them is truly over the other, though Lana’s coping a bit better than Catch. There’s been no communication between them and there’s so many words that were left unsaid. Now they have a second chance—a state of emergency forces them back together—but will the learn from their past mistakes and find their way back together or are things really over for them?

I really enjoyed catching up with Catch and Lana. I loved how they matured since seeing each other last, and that they both recognized their own failures within their past relationship. Their growth and development, though sometimes sidelined by others’ actions, was immense and awesome. I loved watching them work through their past hurts to get back to the good stuff in their relationship. And don’t worry that “good stuff’ included lots of hot AF between the sheets time. Lots of down and dirty—emphasis on the dirty—times on the station.

Deeper was an excellent addition to the DEEP series. I’m hoping there are more tales to come from the other cast of characters! ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

Oh my god alllll the stars for catch!! He was just... magical. Like a beautiful unicorn. You want him to be real sooo badly, but you know he is just a work of art from someone’s beautiful mind. Thank you a million times over for this book. And for catch, mrs. Diamond!!

It’s been awhile since I read Deep, but as I delved into this book I found that it was easy to dive back into the world of Catch and Lana.

The story begins a few months after Lana’s departure from Station Six. We find Catch has been transferred to training Station Seven and is struggling to deal with the idea that he has lost her forever. However, a threat has arisen and the majority of the ships have been pulled the DEEP… including Lana.

Station Six’s reputation is child’s play compared to Lana’s and Catch’s new home. Station Seven has a history of having the hottest “club” where everything goes and the rules go out the window. Despite all of the sexy men and women, Lana and Catch still only have eyes for one another.

One of the best things about these books is the fact that both of the main characters are flawed and realistic. This makes it easy to like the characters, connect with their emotional rollercoaster, and to find yourself invested in their story as it unfolds. Despite having spilled his heart to Lana in the previous book, Catch finds it difficult to truly explain and express what he wants: to please Lana. It doesn’t help that sometimes Lana’s a bit dense in regards to truly hearing what Catch is trying to say as opposed to taking his words so literally. However, as the characters work through everything, the scenes get steamier and steamier.

Jaine Diamond does a fantastic job with the character development, especially with Lana and Catch. This book allows the reader to begin to gain more perspective into the lives and thinking of some of the characters closest to the main characters. This development helps to strengthen the storyline and I found myself wondering if the author will continue on with Lana’s and Catch’s tale from their point of view or if she’ll begin expanding into other characters such as Scarlet, First, and Hilt. It’s obvious that the story is not over and I found myself eager to discover more about Catch’s past, especially with the devious Docker. I also hope to learn more about the back story of Master and Glory.

The one thing I would like to see being developed is the storyline of what is going on in the universe outside of the training stations. As I got further into the book, I realized that the threat outside wasn’t explored a lot of the time and was more of a side story. Even as it came to the forefront, it was only for a few chapters. Despite my love of the characters and their storyline, I hope that to learn more about the world around them. My curiosity is probably because I don’t typically read erotica, but I also feel it’s due to the fact that the author did a great job of catching my interest in the story outside of Lana’s and Catch’s.

Overall, this is a solid sequel and I would highly recommend this for any lover of romance and erotica. This love story and steamy scenes are bound to keep you hot this winter!

I received this book from the author in exchange for a review.

All opinions of the book are my own.

Catch me, please!

Well, this was a satisfying conclusion to Lana and Catch’s story up in the depths of space. As kinky and, in some instances cruel, as some of these characters get (like Docker), I still enjoyed the love aspect. I did think they were dense at times though! How could they not know they were in love?

All in all, both books were an enjoyable story. Different which was nice for a change.

Wow! I have read all of the author's Dirty Series more than once but I didn't realize that I was really missing out on this 2 book series, Deep & Deeper. I can't believe these are Jaine Diamonds first books she's written. They are different & pretty amazing.

I was a bit confused when I started with Deep, not realizing right away that it was set in a futuristic time, almost a bit syfy in nature. When I saw it was a military romance (not the genre I would typically go for), I was thinking Navy ship when ships were mentioned. It took a few chapters to 'get' the lingo, the space station setting & to also get used to the 3rd person style of narration in these books. Once I figured all that out, I was TOTALLY IN!

This series was hot, sexy, erotic as the title suggests & kinky with a capital K...my kindle is still steaming! Wow, wow, wow...Catch, so hot as the trainer who 'catches' the eye of his best friends sister as she comes into their ship as a cadet in training. Lana, seems like quite the young innocent until you see her REALLY liking being handcuffed to the ceiling of her cell in the brig for an indiscretion as soon as she boards the ship.

Catch/Tristan, as Lana's trainer for the next 12 weeks & the one who will keep an eye on her as First/Adam , her brother requests of him is the one who comes to take her out of the brig. He now has to fight his instant feelings of lust at seeing her cuffed, submissive & vulnerable, & loving it! He made a promise to Adam to keep everyone away from Lana, but who will keep him away from her?

Lana & Catch become embroiled in a secret, over the top steamy, hot affair that could get them both in serious trouble if found out..it is against every code in the book for a trainer & cadet to be involved in this way.

Neither are very experienced with relationships which becomes obvious as neither can fully give into being their true selves with each other & the warm bubble they find themselves in cracks, as Lana crashes & burns their fragile ties, leaving a broken Catch in her wake. She's heartbroken herself at what's she's done, what she's thrown away, but doesn't realize how much until their separation stretches to months while she is living her 'dream' out in deep space all alone & the tough, controlled Catch is now out completely control & despondent having lost her & is still far away on Station 6 without her. Will they ever see each other again?

A pending war out in space brings them back together in an unexpected way in Station 7 now, leaving the door wide open for second chances. But has Catch moved on as her brother has hinted with a woman from his past? Lana herself arrives with an attentive boyfriend who seems to be just the sweet kind of guy she should want, right?

But Lana isn't sweet anymore & Catch can't go down into this spiral his life has become much longer. Will one of them be strong enough to break this standoff?

This series is filled with great friends & supporting characters, evil villains &
wise mentors, different worlds to explore & enough sexy goodness to keep you hooked until the last page. I loved the very meaningful ending, but wish we could see another novella even..to wrap everything up alittle more. I would welcome that! Or maybe Jaine Diamond wants us to imagine our own final conclusion to the inhabitants of the Deep!

RECOMMEND!

Catch bless his soul is a damn mess. He spiraled so quickly. I was totally shocked and honestly wanted him to have some time to clean up his act before coming face to face with Lana. Boom bang bang she's there. Catch is a man on murderous mission when he see Lana's face being sucked off by this pipsqueak fella. Absolutely hilarious.

I didn't appreciate his finagling of her re-assignment. A bit too presumptuous for me, my pseudo-feminist came out. His uber stalker vibes came back out in full force. An eye on her at all times, even if it wasn't his. I'm glad the plot communication problems were sorted out pretty early on because it would have been tiring. Catch has some serious problem and I wanted him to have a heart to heart with Lana most of all. I felt that the connection between them was lacking in true sharing. It was more by the way after alllll the steamy sex. Their connection was more physical than anything and I felt that this book could have focused more on them delving into each other's minds. Initially I didn't appreciate the way he became aware of Lana's past. He needed to hear it from her not outside sources with their unconscious spin on it.
Again prudish me was a bit uncomfortable by some scenes but it wasn't the entire book you know. some had a specific purpose and I appreciated that. it obviously did draw them closer and at the end of the day you want you leads to head over heels for one another.
Lana's angst and anguish wasn't enough. She too needed to find herself without the crutch that is their relationship. During that time it would have been fantastic for her to really come into her own. She just became the spineless human. Giving into the depression and what not. Before she could even begin to show us her strength and her coping with him gone... he was back.

I had the thought that it wasn't the most healthy of relationships and this did make the turn of events at the end a bit disappointing for me. Love yourself and your own company. Go into the relationship whole or become whole while in one but it should be distinct. Your mental health shouldn't be so wrapped up in a relationship you can't function if that person is sent on assignment.
I honestly love this author's writing tone. It's not hurried and just reads well.

Deeper is the second book in the Deep series. Deep must be read first to fully understand Catch and Lana’s complex and sexy story. If you haven’t read it, I would stop reading this review now so nothing gets spoiled. It takes place in space so that is unique all in its own for me. Deeper takes place months after Deep ended with Lana going into the Deep, leaving Catch thinking about what he has done. And how he fucked it up...

Catch is a mess. Lana is trying to keep it together. They haven’t spoken since the day she walked away. For duty. He hasn’t been the same since that day. She is sent back early with her unit and she isn’t sure if he will be happy, angry, or indifferent when she sees him again. She still isn’t even sure how she feels. And when it happens, she isn’t prepared. But she does hope that he didn’t see what just happened just a few feet away from him. She shouldn’t care. He moved on so why shouldn’t she. It’s all so confusing. She hates the unknown and he hates knows that she is going to drive him insane with want. Especially when she throws in the word “friendship” to the mix.

I don’t want to delve too much into the book but I will say that you will swoon. You will get angry. You will feel hot and bothered. You will feel the characters’ passion. You will want to slap a bitch. And you will fall in deep.

Overall...I thought it was great conclusion to Catch and Lana’s story. I am hoping there is more to the series with other characters but if not, it was a awesome duet.

P.S If you haven’t read Jaine’s Dirty series...you totally should.

Quotes:

“So who is this girl to you?”
“What matters,” Catch replies, deadpan, “is that she’s nothing to you.”

“Catch… I think that was the hottest thing I’ve ever seen. I’m afraid to open my eyes and lose it.”

“Lana. I like you.” When he has her naked, he kisses her, hot and slow, letting that sink in. “You’re my kink. You’re the only kink I need. Do you get that?”

Fog up your Glasses steamy!

I read Deep quite a while back. I'd already read all of the Authors other books and fans recommended Deep which is actually a bit of a departure from her Rockstar Romance. I'll be honest, it was a little too much for me. This Duet is far heavier on the Steam then her other books and so I decided to skip reading Deeper. I never intended on reading it but curiosity got the better if me. Despite the fact that the erotic nature of Deep was not my cup of tea, I did like the characters and military space story and I wanted to know what happened to Catch and Lana.

This book is pretty hot and heavy but definitely hits the Romance button a little harder than Deep did, so I definitely liked it more. The characters are great. I enjoyed the theme and Jaine's writing is always great.
So if you read Deep already then I recommend Deeper. It's a great conclusion. If you are reading this and haven't read Deep yet, then be aware there is a very heavy Bondage theme.

Beautiful. **NO SPOILERS**

Book 2 in the DEEP Duet, the conclusion to Catch and Lana’s story.

As noted about book 1, if you aren’t a kinkster to some degree then you might not enjoy this duet. That said regardless of sexual proclivities in the book ultimately this is at its core a romance novel. Lots of angst, feels and drama and I found it to be a very beautiful love story.

As far as the kink side of things go it’s almost a perfect example of BDSM, in that the couple found what worked best for them. The only way it could have been better was if they communicated with each other much better than they actually did. There are strong guidelines on what is right and wrong in kink but they are just guidelines intended as safeguarding measures.

I thought that this was an exceptional example of what it’s like being a ‘switch’. The writing style is easy to read and I found myself internally cheering the characters on, they’re easy to relate to and to care about. Highly recommend this series.

I WAS WRONG!!!

I picked up the first book Deeper hoping for the best but thinking it was probably going to be another one of those sci-fi romance books that are all the same, shallow, with kinda cheesy sex... I WAS WRONG! Happily wrong. I loved absolutely everything about this 2 book series. I wish I could find more books like this. The main characters were so perfect for each other. I felt myself cheering for them. I wanted them to succeed. I loved all the characters even Docker. I could truly see someone like her doing what she did but my favorite character was Hilt. I felt like his character was mysterious and I wanted to know more about what went on in HIS bedroom! I hope the author writes another book to this universe with Hilt as the main character.
This book is definitely worth the read!

Even better than Deep!

This is a slow burn that just gets hotter and hotter. I absolutely love how the characters grow and develop. I especially love that their flaws and mistakes seem natural, feasible, not just conveniently created to push the plot along.

This book was way more than just erotica so if you're only looking for a smut-fest this might be too much for you. But if you like your literary steam with a decent storyline and characters you can really delve into, this book absolutely nails it. For me, it's right up there with the Rhythm of Three trilogy or the Nature of Desire Series. The Deep series is definitely getting added to my favourites collection.

So glad I read both books in this series!

When I read the first book in this duo, I almost quit it… but I had to go back. This series may be some of Jaine Diamond’s earliest work, but there is no doubt of her mastery with words.

This book is about building on the love Catch (Tristan) and Lux (Lana) finally admit to. Their commitment to each other never wavers and their love builds to a beautiful crescendo.

Definitely not to the level of her Dirty, Players, or Vancity Villains book series, but Jaine Diamond does love her heroes to walk the tightrope between alphahole and sweetness with a definite edge!

Good conclusion

I had a hard time getting into book 1, but by the end I was definitely invested enough that I had to read book 2 immediately. I liked this book better in a lot of ways, I think.
I wish there had been more of tidier wrap-up for Adam & Scarlet, and I wish we got an epilogue or something to show what the future looks like for Lana & Catch, as well as Adam & Scarlet, and their friends, but I was pretty happy with the stargazing scene at the end of this book. Very sweet.

Less confusing than book 1.

Ok, this redeemed itself from the first book that just had every conversation create more unanswered questions than it did answer any.
I didn’t fully get the dynamic of Catch and Lana, I’m not overly convinced they knew what they wanted but they seemed to figure out something by the end of book 2. But….I still don’t really understand Catch, his history and the details of it, that could help the reader gel with his character. Maybe it’s me, maybe I didn’t get it, I’m not sure.
I love Jaine Diamond’s books, but Deep and Deeper weren’t my favourite.

WHEW!

Part 2 was a little more like what this HEA fan appreciates. Lana and Catch, plus Scarlet and First became more realistic. Scorching sex and kinkiness - ok but finally some real earth like feelings. Wish they would eventually get back to the people they love on "Solid". But in the meantime this reader is headed back to the Canada based bands. Enjoyed the temporary venture into " The Deep". Interesting read by a very creative author who's becoming a favorite.

Mmmm.... just yummy

This book will make you melt right down into a puddle. It is absolutely delicious! The characters are really well developed, the plot is there 100% and I could not put this book down! I love reading a book that has more kink than most and this does not disappoint!

A satisfying twisty and spicy conclusion

Essential reading for those who completed book 1. Answers questions from book 1 and gives insights about characters' pasts and behaviors. I like the characters even more now that I understand their histories and vulnerabilities. It could have been a bit longer.

I loved it more than DEEP

Sci-fi is not my thing so it took me a whole to read DEEP despite having read all of Jaine's other books. I am beyond glad I figured read DEEP. I absolutely loved DEEPER. I loved Catch in the first book, but I am head over heels gone for him in the sequel.

If only they would talk...

So much of the drama between Catch and his Lana could have been prevented if they would just use their words and TALK. My goodness. The steam was still so, so good. Great continuation of the story. More characters to love and hate. Good to finally see what going Deep and Deeper means to this author. Good book.

I read through the book because I couldn't but it down. Catch and Lana break up had in tears. Could not be the end. Then in part II I thought they would never get together. Love the book would probably read again later down the line. Do recommend this as must read!

I loved this book

A lot of space military stuff...but that’s okay. It was a little different but a very nice love story with a hearty amount of sex and some bdsm. Try this author if erotica is your genre! Enjoyable.

I liked this better than the first as it has more of an emotional connection if not physical too. Don't know how I felt with the ending but then again this isn't my usual kind of book .
