What beautiful, brilliant work. Something I tell my writing students is to always question a piece you can read and then forget. Not a single story in this tight collection of 14 is forgettable and since my first read through I have found myself drawn back to a large handful of them over and again. The humor and voice that shines through this collection is one of the most genuine I've read in years. I cannot say enough good things about Giddings or Arcade Seventeen. Highly recommend.

This small book has a big imagination, full of smart, expressionistic dream-like flashes I'll return to again and again. A feast for the mind, heart, and senses.
