People are complex.
Love a double-edged sword.
And when it comes to a broken heart, there are no rules, only time…

For the past eight years, Julien Thornton has been living with a secret. One that only a handful of people know about.

To the outside world, he has it all.
A thriving career. A loving husband. And a face that the American public fell for by the millions, on a reality show that inadvertently saved his life.

But behind the shine of celebrity, behind the easygoing nature, a crippling truth fills Julien with pain and self-loathing. It’s a truth that he fights to overcome daily with the help of his husband, Joel Priestley, and now their boyfriend, Robbie Bianchi.

But unlike Priest, Robbie doesn’t know what he’s helping Julien to fight. He doesn’t know what Julien did all those years ago. And with the anniversary of his sister’s death fast approaching, the time for explanations is running out.

And thus the question: will the princess be able to forgive the prick as the priest once did?

Only time will tell.

Those who are meant to be yours will always find you.

I am a big fan of Ella Frank's "Temptation" series and I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series "Robbie" !! I couldn't wait to start this one and read more about The Princess, The Priest and The Prick ... This time around we especially get to know more about "The Prick's" past...

FOTO BEWERKEN - makkelijk online je foto's bewerken of aanpassen

I really loved Julien in the first book and he didn't disappoint in this one...damn but there is something so extremely sexy about a hot guy talking French...

"Dieu, tu es beau"  "Embrasse-moi"Afbeeldingsresultaat voor emoticon drooling

This book definitely showed how much these three men need one another. With every page it became clearer, that they really belong together.... Julien and Priest both have a difficult past to overcome and I think Robbie is the perfect man to shine his big bright light, on both of his men..

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor three men kissing

At first Julien is afraid of Robbie finding out his big secret, he is worried his princesse won't be able to forgive him for what he did... But lying is not what their relationship is about...

"There has to be trust, honesty, and total transparency."

Of course Robbie does what he does best....he helps Julien to finally let go of the guilt, that has been eating him alive for years..

I really loved this book...dare I say... even more then book 1. It was sweet and funny and even emotional at times. It was also extremely HOT. Don't believe me....let me just say this : DP !!!!!!

I am very particular when it comes to books about menages....they have to be perfect for me, and so far Ella Frank has hit the nail right on the head !!

I highly recommend this series and I can't wait for Priest's book !! This one ends on a small cliffy, so each minute of waiting is a minute too long !! :P

Warning! This is a Stan’s review proceed with caution!

“What’s not to love? Julien cooks, you worry about the important stuff, and I make everything sparkle.”
That elusive smile of Priest’s lit his face, and Robbie added, “I also love that I can do that.”
“What?”
“Make you smile. It’s so rare that it feels like a major accomplishment when it happens.”

Another gushing and gifs I call review!

I am a Stan for this series and any Ella’s Erotic writing, the woman knows how to write the kind of Erotica I love to read.

I am in Love with all the MC’s in this book. I want to read more and more about them. I want 6 more books.

description

I was hesitant to read this due to the mixed reviews, but I am glad that I decided to put on my big girl pant and read it, because we can’t all love them the same. I am happy I was among the ones who absolutely LOVED IT!

The main focus in this book 2 is Julien’s story, I found it just ok, not that shocking and was sorry for Julien especially the way his parents treated him.

This book had a more serious tone than Robbie that was a plus.

Robbie, Julien and Priest have some really hot chemistry. I enjoy reading about their interactions, the way they all compliment each other. These three guys just fit.

description

I Love Robbie! And his sparkling personality, He is charming, smart and damn right adorable, and fits perfectly with Julien and Priest. I want to be Robbie sooo baaaad and have two men like Priest and Julien sandwiching me every night.

I Love Julien! and his cooking, He is Sweet, sensitive, speaks French which I find sexy as sin and loves His men.

I FREAKING LOOOOOOVE Priest! He is right there with Logan. He is protective, charming, broken, closet romantic and absolutely adores Robbie and Julien.

The SEX! Was scorching HOT! Robbie putting on a show for Priest….. poor Coat! The DP and that damn SHOWER SCENE, I reread that scene so many times. Priest and Robbie lit up the pages.

I will forever be squeeeing when my forever number 1 guy comes on page! Logan! Freaking Logan! Damn I love the guy.

Annnddd Logan + Tate! Me issa forever goner.

"We all have a role here, Robert. No one's is greater or more important than the other. It's just different. That's why we work, and will continue to work, if we're honest with one another."

MY shoot! OUR PRIEST! I can’t wait for his book! I am stalking the Brella’s FB page daily hoping for an early release.

Where the first book (Robbie) was mostly about the chase and the conquest – with married couple Julien and Priest adding a third to their relationship in the form of the delectable and sparkly Robbie – this sequel followed the trio into a much more established and settled place. With the growth of Robbie, Julien, and Priest’s relationship came better character development and more tasty insights into their individual backstories, not to mention substantially more emotional weight to their story (mostly) in the form of Julien’s sad past tragedy.

As much as I enjoyed this story I have to be honest and admit that I had a realisation while reading which may not be received well by other readers. My realisation was this: as much as I like Julien, which I do, a part of me strongly wishes that this series was just about Priest and Robbie. Yes, that might sound bad but I can’t help feeling this way. Obviously, taking Julien out of the story would completely defeat the entire purpose of this unique triad romance, yet I can’t help but be substantially more compelled by Priest and Robbie as characters compared to Julien. This small feeling of indifference I have towards Julien became particularly apparent whenever the other two shared solo scenes together and I realised I wasn’t missing Julien’s presence in the slightest, whereas every time Priest or Robbie weren’t present I was extremely aware of their absence. Honestly, I still really like the guy – I pinky swear – but considering it was his focal story, I feel like I wasn’t as enamored with him and his tragic backstory as I maybe should have been.

Speaking of Julien’s backstory, I found the reveals kind of anticlimactic. Everyone mourns differently, as is their right, and the impacts of personal loss can certainly be felt strongly years on, but I honestly expected the details of Julien’s past to have a greater emotional punch than they did. There is no denying I’m a crier and get emotional at the drop of a hat, yet I didn’t ever really feel anything regarding Julien’s past loss or his ongoing emotional turmoil. I basically reacted with a confused “is that it?!” reaction when all the details were finally laid bare in the later portion of the story. Even saying that makes me feel like a heartless bitch, but honestly, I just didn’t get why he was beating himself up so badly over the circumstances that I ultimately didn’t think were anywhere in the realm of his fault. I’m sure most readers will find Julien’s backstory very moving and I’m probably just a curmudgeon of an exception here, I just wish I had felt more engaged with the feels than I was.

Now, some of that sounds a bit negative, but I promise, on a whole, this was a really successful reading experience for me. As always, I found Frank’s writing so smooth, polished, and with that moreish quality that made it difficult to put down for very long. I love her characters, and the fact that their story is predominantly relationship focused makes this my kind of story.

As an inexperienced reader of ménage stories (generally speaking), I’m still wildly impressed by Frank’s ability to make this a romance I can happily root for. I think the key here is how completely transparent these men are regarding their wants, needs, and every desire. Their honesty and openness keeps communication at the forefront of their potentially complex relationship and they make it work, putting all jealousies aside and supporting each other in all things. It’s quite inspiring when you think about it.

As far as sequels are concerned this was a win for me. I’ll now be waiting with bated breath for the final installment which certainly promises to be the best of the bunch – although, I may be a bit bias there considering my utter obsession with Priest’s character. *swoon*

This is the second book in the Confessions series and it definitely had some very hot, passionate scenes in it! A forewarning, this book is m/m romance, and it also is about an unconventional relationship between three men! Julien and Priest are married and have brought Robbie into their marriage as their boyfriend! I like the fact that they never exclude Robbie from the two of them. There is no jealousy either, and I am positive if there was a way... they would all three be married!

This book is Julien’s story... or I should say- mainly his story. He has some major emotional baggage from his past, and when it comes out his men are there to pick up the pieces of his broken heart. I felt Julien’s emotional pain and it sure made me feel his devastation that he had been living with for the past 8 years. I loved how Robbie breathes life into both Julien and Priest as they try to overcome their demons. I just hope in the end of all of this that Robbie will be taken care of as well as he seems to take care of them!

I have always loved this author’s writing, she has a way with words and is able to write emotion like you are feeling it right alongside the characters. My only complaint with this book is that at times it dragged a bit. I’m looking forward to Priest’s book, as I just know it’s going to be a heavy one. So glad it is out and I can read it immediately if I want to!!

ROBBIE left us with a mild cliffhanger and JULIEN continues right where the first installment of the Confessions series stopped - I was excited to continue Robbie, Julien's and Joel's journey and see where this new situation would take them.

Robbie has moved into Julien and Priest's apartment. It takes a special man to be able to not feel like the third wheel in an established relationship when you are the last to join but Robbie has no problem at all to grow into their new three-ways relationship. Neither do Joel or Julien for that matter. There is no jealousy, no hidden aggression, each of them enjoys their connection to the other two, which is surprising and admirable, especially because there is so much history between Joel and Julien that there is a lot of potential for somebody to feel left out.

But not Robbie.
“I know I’m a little loud. Bright colors—”
“Suit you. You’re one of the brightest, happiest people I’ve ever met, princesse. And whether you are in a black suit or a bright pink one, you will be the shiniest, loveliest person in attendance.”

He is pure light and love. Rarely have I read about a character with a pure heart like his. He stole my heart in the first book but damn, in JULIEN he is EVERYTHING. While this installment primarily deals with Julien's past it is the flamboyant, beautiful man who almost steals the show. He is sweet, patient and so, so perceptive. He has the gift of waiting people out, listening to them and offering solutions nobody has considered. The gentleness that is inherent in Robbie is only surpassed by his mischief which makes for quite some funny situations despite the heavy subject.

It was hinted in ROBBIE that Julien carried a lot of guilt about his sister's death but how much it weighs him down becomes obvious in this book. Around the anniversary of his sister's death he just falls apart and while Priest has always been his crutch through these days Julien never managed to move past his guilt. It was harrowing and gut-wrenching to see this strong, endearing character go through his guilt and grief when it seemed nothing would help him to move on. The betrayal of those who should have been there for him was infuriating and made me feel for Julien even more. I hope that Ella writes some spiders into their beds in the next book.
"A broken heart of gold, that’s what our Julien has.”

Joel Priestley has been an enigma from the first moment I met him in the #PresLocke series. Now we get to see the real Priest, the one who cares deeply, and even has a flirtatious side. He is sexy in an over-powering way and the most intense and controlled of the three. While other people squirm under his gaze Robbie and Julien revel in his attention. He doesn't open up easily but I loved seeing him being sweet and open with our princess. Robbie just has this gift to make people feel comfortable around him  and it was so apparent that Joel started to fall for him. Robbie's sparkling yet gentle personality puts deep cracks in his armor. Joel is the caretaker, the person who still functions when things go to hell and seeing his love for Julien was touching.
"But you’re never stupid, Julien. You were just a little less perfect than you usually are.”

Ella gives us a little bit of Tate and Logan in this book - it's always something I get a kick out of when I'm united with favorite characters from another series.

I have come to love these three men so much and I love them equally and wouldn't be able to choose a favorite. They all are so incredibly different yet so perfect for each other. All of them have a goodness in them that is palpable  and while Priest's is the least obvious it's the most rewarding because of it.

This was a fast and satisfying read. We are being left again with a cliffy that hurts a little more than the last one but fear not, soon we'll have Joel's book in our hands. JULIEN is alot angstier than ROBBIE and while the first half is mostly light and fun the second half digs deep in the anxiety department. Now the wait for #3 begins. Can it be September already?

Not quite as good as book 1, but still a good read and a nice addition to the series.

This one was a bit more heavy and serious then book 1 as we find out about Julien’s past.

I liked that there was no unnecessary drama. And I liked the progression of their relationship.

But if I’m honest, Priest’s book is the one I’ve been waiting for. Can’t wait to get inside his head a bit more.

4 - It’s the Principle - Stars

I’m not going to proclaim I’m a connoisseur of ménage because I’m not. And while I thoroughly enjoyed Robbie, this fell a bit short for me. It wasn’t the men’s interactions but actually Julien’s background, while tragic, wasn’t all that interesting. Sorry. I just wanted to bask and further explore these guys’ new dynamic, because though I initially balk at more than two in a relationship, the interplay and the intricacies of how this can work is quite fascinating on all sorts of levels.

Most likely it won’t come as any sort of big surprise that Priest is the star of this show, and this second installment only served to further solidify his magnetic self and compelling story. Every time this man is on page, his scenes are absolutely riveting, searing them into my already mush brain.

I would be lying if I said I didn’t prefer just Priest and Robbie in a conventional romance, but I won’t begrudge Ella Frank stretching her artistic wings. If she hadn’t done so way back when, we would’ve never gotten Logan and Tate in the first place. That would’ve been a damn shame since it was my introduction to the wonderful world of MM, and after reading 900+ stories and still going strong 4.5 years later, I’d say she’s left an undeniable and powerful mark on my reading habits.

Of course this was sexy hot and swoony, and Priest’s story will surely guarantee this series as a favorite! I can’t wait!

I’d been looking forward to a book that focused on Julien, and it didn’t disappoint! Not only were we able to learn more about Julien and his past, we got to see more of Priest as he opened up to Robbie, too. The three of them together are crazy hot - I think my headphones might melt when this comes out on audio!

I can’t really give details without fear of spoilers, but one of the things I loved the most was all the little ways the three men showed each other affection, trust, and love (whether vocally admitted or not). It’s hard to imagine how a third could come into an established marriage without feeling like a third wheel, but everything Priest and Julien say and do shows Robbie that he’s a crucial part of the equation. He brings so much light and color to their lives.

I can’t wait for Priest’s book!

More seriouser than the first to me.

Even though we again get all three's perspectives the story is Julien-centric, complete with flashbacks. Julien's turmoil is front and center and while I understand why he's haunted I also felt the big reveal was anti-climactic. I was expecting something MUCH bigger and more nefarious.

However, what I really liked about this one is the relationship development. Frank is building something between these three that is binding them together but is also unique to each "couple" within the triad. Naturally, I favored the dynamic between Robbie and Priest. Shocker. That scene in the closet...

I also like how Robbie's bubbliness is softening the rough edges of the other two. He's like an eager puppy that just puts a smile on everyone's face, including mine. He really is a burst of color in their black and white and gray world.

Sex is pretty hot. That shower scene gets a gold star. Also, DP. Not as hot as the first one, though that could just be me.

People should watch out for the drug usage and binge drinking. Maybe it is overly fluffy but I liked that they all show emotion and aren't afraid of their feelings. I'm looking forward to how it all plays out in MY BOY'S book! 🙌🙌🙌🙌

C'mon Priest!!! Hurry!

Recommend to fans of hurt/comfort and ménage romances.

Sometimes the best memories made are the ones you don't even realize you're making.

It's no secret that I loved Robbie when I met him in the Temptation Series and I've wanted him to get his own book ever since. When I found out that he was getting not one book but an entire series, I was so happy.

And so far it has not disappointed. Julien was just as amazing as the first book and I loved getting more of Julien "The Prick" Thornton's story. It was heartbreaking but it will make you swoon, smile, and fall even more in love with Julien, Robbie and Priest.

"And how does Priest look at me, princesse?"
"Like you're everything he needs to survive another day."

I mean, come on. **swoons**

Their relationship really worked. It was not easy sure but they each brought in something to balance the other two out and it was something special to watch. Also, HOLY HELL this book was H-O-T. It was crazy steamy. If there's one thing you can expect from Ella Frank, it's that she always brings it her all.

Julien does end on a cliffhanger but it's not as bad I thought it would've been. So thank god for that small miracle. I'm excited for the last book plus it's going to be in Priest's point of view and I cannot wait for it.

Those who are meant to be yours will always find you.

Julien is the second book in the Confessions trilogy, I could not wait to read this even putting another book on hold.

This continues from where Robbie the first book ended continuing the polyamory relationship between Priest, Julien and Robbie.

I must admit I struggled with this one I even skimmed the sex scenes as they went on forever, I much preferred their banter and cheeky flirting.

Julien's dark secret was a let down as well I expected something more dramatic, yes it was sad but not his fault at all so I don't get all the guilt, I don't want to say what happened but everything that happened that night was planned without him knowing and he just went along with the plans and his parents are assholes for the way they have treated him since that night.

I am looking forward to Priest the final book where we discover more about his past and hopefully Priest and Robbie will be okay.

And of course I loved having Logan and Tate pop up but sadly not together.

After reading the reviews I seem to be in a minority here but you can't love em all.

This was what I was looking for in book 1. All the feels. And while I didn't necessarily buy into Julien's self-imposed guilt trip because I believe his sister was an adult and made her own choices, I blame most of it on his parents. His parents should have been there for him too. They weren't the only ones to lose someone they loved. It was kind of hard to reconcile how he remembered them as loving parents to them completely removing him from their lives. But I was glad Robbie was there this time. He was just what Julien needed.

These 3 are definitely HOT, HOT, HOT. I love how they are coming together and forming a relationship. Robbie is definitely the light and heart of the union. And I'll mention again, I love that Priest and Julien don't want to change him at all. They love...and I do believe it is love...him exactly how he is.

And of course, another damn cliffy. On to the next!!

Embrasse Moi! Wow........just wow. I can't believe how incredible this book was. I was totally looking forward to this addition after reading Robbie, and holy cow was I not disappointed.

I loved everything about this book. Priest, Prick and Princess work to define their relationship, and boy do they! I enjoyed reading the dynamic of these three. Of course, learning more about Julien was funny and heartbreaking. I'm not a fan of flashbacks but Ella Frank did a great job incorporating them throughout the entire book. These three men come together so beautifully, you can just tell how well they all compliment each other and the growing love and respect they have for one another.

I will say that Ella Frank is a master at writing steamy sexy scenes......you will need a fan, a cold drink and maybe a cold shower after. Chapter 15 was absolute perfection and will forever be bookmarked as one of the hottest chapters I have EVER read. Bravo Ms. Frank. As with all of your other fans, let's just say we can't wait until we get "Priest". Oh and by the way, I'll never look at a suit jacket the same again!

We're back in the world of our darlings Logan & Tate! Well, not really - this is a spin-off thingy, but we all met and fell for Robbie & Priest & Julien in the Temptation series ....

If you haven't read TRY & TAKE & TRUST & TEASE & TATE & TRUE you should definitely do it!!

And obviously you should have read CONFESSIONS: ROBBIE - because this is a trilogy which began with Robbie's book!

description

Book #1 ended with Robbie ringing the doorbell, ready to move in with his two boyfriends Julien and Priest.

description

But he couldn't have come at a worse time. Priest just got a call about his past. And Julien is also preoccupied with something in his past. But our darling Robbie is just the right person those two need to calm down a bit and not go crazy in these hard times.

══════════════════════

description

description

Finally book #2!

I really enjoyed reading this book.

Those 3 boys are just sooo adorable! All three completely different but so perfect for each other!

And this time Robbie has his hands full with Priest and Julien. More Julien though. He's in a bad, sad, sorrowful, grieving, gulity mood at the moment because his sister's death's 'anniversary' is coming closer. And he's not dealing well. Just like every year since she died eight years ago. But Robbie is an immense help for Priest. Robbie knows just what to do and say and not ask in those situations. Adorable!

description

And next to Julien's problems, Priest's problems - which were already mentioned at the end of book 1 - they're almost here now. We'll learn more about it in book #3. And to say Robbie is a bit shocked about it all, is a huge understatement!

CAN'T WAIT to read that last book!!!!

OK, what can I say to wrap this review up?
JULIEN was a VERRRY EROTIC and adorable and funny and moving story.
But our three boys will have a LOT more to deal with in the next book!

The tiny little things that still bother me - but that's just me. The fact that the book is not written in the first person POV! With all those male I's HE's HIM's HIS's - it's so complicated sometimes to understand who is saying or thinking something!

Also - still not a fan of Priest's hair color!!! And he's my favorite of those 3 guys. But the hair!!! Ugh! ☺

This series continues to be awesome.. I love Priest, Robbie and Julien together.
Love that there's not only sex, but an actual plot. The three men talk to each other, lean on one another, and do their best to make their relationship work.
I'm going straight to the next installment.
I try to see the first 4 books in the series as one, because I guess I won't see Priest, Robbie and Julien happily together and angst-free before the 4.book is over.

(do not ask me what I think of the cover, though...)

Second part of the “confessions” series. Not a stand-alone
Whining here : why is it not working for me ? Why ? It should...really, it should.

Even though threesome is not my favorite trope, I don’t mind either. And I quite enjoy the dynamics here as Robbie, Julien and Priest compliment each other nicely.
Add that Ella Frank knows how to write hot chemistry imo. And hot it is, no question about it.

Maybe it’s the pace ? It’s only at 80% that I get to learn what happens in Julien’s past. Before that, it was only some strong hints, but not enough for me to understand why it affects Julien so much. And even then, it remained puzzling for me why Julien’s parents were so harsh. Hence, I couldn't really get into the story.

Let see if I will fare better with book3, which should be more focused on Priest (finally, should I say, LOL).

Note : Thank you so much, dear author, for your care when writing in French. I was a bit concerned when I started book 1, but no mistake, NONE !! And once again in book 2 : NONE. I do appreciate !

Things start to get a little bit more complicated as Ella Frank explores more of the dynamic which makes up the enigmatic French-American chef Julien Thornton.

This series is way more than just the menage aspect of it, though. Each one of the three men involved in this relationship brings something the other two needs and that is never more obvious than in this middle book of the trilogy.

Julien is hiding demons and, as the time approaches closer to his beloved twin sister's death, it becomes clear there's something very wrong with the usually gregarious man and Priest is worried. Robbie can go some way to helping relieve the strain. And oh boy do they go! This book ups the sex quotient ante a thousandfold and includes a scene which blows the roof off (which I won't spoil because it needs to be appreciated without warning).

The intricate emotional weaving together of these three men becomes even more obvious here and it's never more needed than when they return to Julien's home town of LA where Robbie finally learns about the ghosts in his lover's past.

There's a cliffhanger ending in this one, although Robbie's integration fully into Julien and Priest's life is completed here, and it involves the most enigmatic of all - Joel Priestley, Priest, the lawyer who on the surface, is controlled and unflappable.

I can't wait!

I'm out of breath from reading this so fast. Started as soon as it hit my kindle and finished within 8 hours.

It was great. I really love the dynamic between these three men. Robbie is so perfect for the two of them. "A light to the dark paths of Priest & Prick"

Although the cover model of Julien is totally hot, I can't help invisioning Julien as William Levy.

Julien

description

Ever since something happened in Julien's life 8 years ago, he's been struggling living with the guilt. Gone is his ability to pretend he's only this happy-thriving-married-man. His guilt pulls him under so much, he is scared Robbie will forever see him differently. Surely he wouldn't be that forgiving as Joel?

But of course Robbie is and some... He's able to pull the pieces of Julien together and shows him another way to coop with the loss.

“I’m not sure you understand just how much you mean to us, Robert. How much having you here this weekend means to him. I don’t think I’ve told you that before, but I love how you are with him. You understand what he needs when he needs it, and every time you give it, I find myself trying to work out exactly what we need to do to make this - to make you - permanent in our lives.”

~~ Joel

With every hour these men grow closer to each other.

Ella always is able to connect me with her characters so much. The sexual relationship between them is scorching. Threesomes, Julien & Robbie together . And OMG Joel and Robbie, just together.....!!!!

“We are allowed to do whatever we like to whomever we like within the three of us. There’s no room or cause for jealousy. There has to be trust, honesty, and total transparency.

These words of Joel linger in Robbie's mind just as the end of the book is in sight...

What happened to Priest's honesty, Priest's transparency????

I.can.not wait for the final piece of transparency. Joel's past I'm sure is gruesome but I'm confident these three men will pull through.

And btw, I loved the French parts. Putain, j'adore ça!!!

The story picks up right after Robbie and takes a more serious turn as Julien's and Priest's pasts come back to haunt them.

Once again, these guys have crazy chemistry, especially Robbie and Priest, and now that they're living together things are very serious, though they've only been together a month or so. I enjoyed the flashbacks to how Julien and Priest met. The focus on Julien is his difficulty dealing with the guilt over his sister's death and I have to say, the buildup was intense, but the actual story of what happened and the resolution were a bit disappointing. It appears that Robbie has magic words that can immediately heal years of guilt and browbeating that even Priest couldn't put a dent in. I realize that Robbie fills a part in the relationship that Priest can't, but this was a bit too much.

Priest is also having troubles and is trying to deal with his father's potential release while trying to keep Julien from going off the deep end. When things to come to a head with that situation, I found Robbie's reaction to Priest's past to be childish and inconsistent with the way he has dealt with things in their very short relationship thus far. I realize there needs to be a point of conflict, but this just didn't sit right with me.

These niggles, combined with my rant about the epic fail regarding Priest's life goal and the job he has (it's below) led to a bit of disappointment with this installment. I'll finish off the series when Priest's book comes out, though I don't know if I can get over the sought after "criminal attorney" who doesn't realize his life's work is actually keeping criminals out of jail as opposed to putting them away, which is his stated life's work.

Full review to come but....

While it won't affect my rating too much, there is something that drove me crazy reading this book, which was otherwise well-edited. If you're going to make a character a lawyer, make sure you're doing it right - current events in Romancelandia have shown just how many lawyers and legal professionals read and write in this community. If a main motivation of a character is to "dedicate his life to putting the bad guys away" you CANNOT make him a criminal defense attorney whose job it is to get the bad guys off. You don't have to have gone to law school to know that.

If you're going to have a character traumatized so that they have an ironclad agreement that they will not discuss certain things during an interview it's the reporter that needs to sign and agree NOT the person who is being interviewed.

These things drove me crazy and pulled me out of what I was reading.

I really hope Ms. Frank is going to get some advice for the next story which is going to hinge in part on the parole of a man who committed mass murder, among other things, out of Federal prison for cooperating with the Feds.

smells like a fetish to me, folks

and by that i mean fetishizing gay men. which i don't like to just throw around buuuuut that's what this felt like. i only read about 15% of this but i did not get good vibes.

ella frank was one of the first MM authors i read and i was really into the series about tate and logan. thought it was really heavy on the sex but was willing to overlook that... but i shouldn't have. that series hinged on a straight character only being gay for ONE MAN. i know sexuality is fluid, i know situations like this can happen IRL but it didn't feel genuine. much like this series doesn't.

i think polyamorous relationships are valid and i would love to read more about them in literature. but when you're using a polya relationship just so you can have gratuitous threesomes to "spice up" your books it just... isn't something i can condone. also i could smell the "tragic backstory" from a mile away with this one. also didn't feel genuine.

i won't be continuing with this series and i don't think i'll read more books from this author. just isn't for me.

I really love the hell out of these guys. Robbie is adorable, Priest is smokin and Julien is French - need I say more !
Julien’s story was mixed, his love for Priest and Robbie was beautiful and his need for them was strong. While the chemistry between the triad was growing, Julien was managing his emotions coming from a personal tragedy and had difficulties reconciling this. As he allowed his men to step in and support him each character grew just a little more. Of course this book finished with the intro into Priests book which is going to be a beauty! I loved the honesty and emotions in this book - great series ❤️

3,5 stars. Unpopular opinion sorry 😕.
I love Ella Frank. I just love her. She gave me Tate and Logan 😍. My babies. And she gave me this 3 guys too. I was so excited about this book! That’s why this review does not please me to write. I loved « Robbie ». It was light, funny et sexy 😏. I remember feeling that the end was too fast: deciding to be together ok but move in after few days of dating was soooo fast. But that wasn’t my biggest concern. For me the end of « Robbie » should rather be the end of « Julien » because Priest’s story wasn’t used in this...normal it wasn’t his book.

🌟 Julien: i was so happy to know about your story. And I have to say in my eyes this was clearly not your fault...but considering the behavior of your family I understand that they pushed you to wear this guilt and therefore develop this self-destructive behavior. I’m so glad you met Priest. You deserved to be loved and especially enjoy your life. If we have to blame people in this tragedy I would start with Jacquelyn. She makes her choice in life and I don’t see what you could have done to prevent it. If it had not been this party, it would have been the after...or the other. Her choice. Not yours. I hope a day you’ll understand that and just celebrate your girl like she wanted too.

🌟Priest: my favorite one! It was so good to see you smile, laugh, release a little pressure and especially take care of your men. I can’t wait to read your story. I just dream of a day you’ll do a full night in a bed haha 💫 Love you ❤️.

🌟Robbie: i always like you but in this I don’t know I didn’t feel you good. At first I found you « not enough », it must be because you did not know their stories. This book was so heavy in dramas that seing you being « you », I know it’s not fair, but it tired me. I do not know why but I was hoping that you’ll became more « serious », a rock to lean on. But in the end it was like you were there to entertain physically, to lighten the mood, to be funny 😕. In my eyes, for this relationship to work I need you to be equal. But it seems to me in the most parts of the book that we have two « adults » with big problems and you, well you distract them from it. And I have to admit that I blame you for the last scene of this book because how dare you? You can’t blame him for his father being his father. You think we have a choice or what? Months that you live with him and you question the man he is? Do you think that’s something you can easily share with a coffee at the morning ? « Oh so you know my father is...? » 🤷🏽‍♀️. He’ll have told you. But he chose to take care of Julien first. If you have a problem with it...🤦🏽‍♂️. I hope you’ll do better soon.

This book is not favorite one but but i love them together and I can’t wait for the next book. Can’t wait. Logan 💘

Hmm was not really my cup of the tea.

Julien is my least favourite of these three and the whole drama around his sister was kind of off. Couldn't feel his pain. Also I really didn't get that Priest always looks out for these two (his men) and before for Jules but he didn't stop this yearly hurt fest? And didn't set the parents straight - kind of feels like the story is not harmonious.

As well I didn't like the fact that Jules could do no wrong in Robbies eyes but as soon as Priest past catches up he wasn't so sure anymore if he really knows the guys.

Figured out why I don't love these books as much as the others - there's too many flashbacks! Just once it'd be nice if there was just a sentence stating what happened instead of pages, it's making the story feel too stop start for me.

It also felt a little anticlimactic to find out what happened with Julien's sister because it really wasn't his fault, but it was built up for so long I guess I was expecting something more scandalous?

That being said I do really like the relationship between the three, but I'm interested to see what happens in Priest's book, because I'm pretty sure the lengthy flashbacks aren't going away yet, and there seems to be more a hint of danger to come, plus Robbie's reaction to Priest's 'lies'.

“I kind of love us.”

“Oh?”

“What’s not to love? Julien cooks, you worry about the important stuff, and I make everything sparkle.”

ah

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ I can't put my finger on why a relationship of three is appealing to me so much, but somehow, it is. 👍🏻✨ It baffles me that more than half of the story takes place in one night, with only flashbacks of how Julien & Priest first met, interrupting the narrative as Robbie slowly folds himself into their lives, and yet - I still enjoyed it. There's something hypnotic about the writing that tempts me to read on! 😅 As heavy as it does seem that it is only a sexual attribute that makes Priest and Julien desire Robbie, I like that it feels more than that. 'Sometimes the best memories made are the ones you don’t even realize you’re making.' I like that Robbie is aware of their feelings for him and that he is slowly stepping into those unsettling waters that they hinted towards before - those dark demons that lie dormant in their eyes, but what their hearts can't deny? 🥺

No one’s is greater or more important than the other. It’s just different. That’s why we work, and will continue to work, if we’re honest with one another.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ I never thought I would enjoy MMM romance as much as I am, but I am. 🥰 'Compassionate, intelligent, and understanding', Robbie is such a gem of a character. I love his sassy personality, his flirtatious spirit, his cheeky and cheery disposition with Priest and Julien, his passionate kink and his flair for being as bold and smitten as possible. He's so lovable and charming that I can't blame the two of them for being drawn towards him. I love that Tate and Logan receive the much-needed talk and are more receptive and accepting of this new dynamic. 'As if you instinctively know what we need from each other. What we need from you.' 💘 Their chemistry can make you feel awkward, like Robbie is missing out on something, but they make him feel so cherished; and it shows. It shows in their words, their trust, their respect, the fluid way in which they switch from sweet to fire so finely and timely that it just makes their connection and relationship feel like it was always meant to be. 🌸

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ It was a bit angsty-er than the last one, as we delve deeper into Julien's past and why such a dark cloud weighs heavily on his shoulders - a grief-stricken guilty conscious that has his memories at time feel too burdensome for him to function properly - but what helped was having another plus one at his side, whose very warmth and touch and fresh perspective of his pain made it so much easier to work his way out of the dark tunnel. 😟 With his brilliant smile and vibrant energy, Robbie really is someone special - so gentle - so tender - so patient and kind in his way of helping Julien see things differently - proving how beautiful and caring a soul he does have that you can't help but love him more - that reassures Julien that it is okay to forgive himself. It makes it feel like it is a test he has to pass, or that they're using him to navigate their own heartbreak, but it is so much more than that. It's the two of them wanting someone else and afraid to show their complete self, in fear that it may be too much for him. But, what makes it worth it, is that Robbie is truly the perfect fit for them. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

We are allowed to do whatever we like to whomever we like within the three of us. There’s no room or cause for jealousy. There has to be trust, honesty, and total transparency.

There’s nothing more miserable than second-guessing each move you make.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Even if Priest and Julien are a married couple, their romantic interest for each other does not feel any way interrupted or disrupted by Robbie's presence. If anything, it seems like their love has increased by him being there, caring for him so very deeply - more than they expected. By seeing their own demons through a new lens, he is willing to give his own share of protectiveness and strength to them. 🥹 The bar scene when Julien and Priest stopped by while Robbie was working was just parfait! 'Sassy, cheeky, flirty. You’re exactly what was missing to our night, princesse. You’re parfait.' And then when they double teamed him after, ah, so hawt!! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Robbie is slowly feeling more comfortable and playful in their presence, and it feels like it is being done naturally, which makes me appreciate their relationship growth even more. I like that he can behave differently with the both of them, and still feel so wanted and cherished by both of them - even when they aren't together. He makes you want him to be happy with his happiness - for him to be content in this feeling of finally deserving of someone's affections, and I am. 🤌🏻😌🤌🏻

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Amidst all the sexiness and serious talk, there are also soft moments of domesticity and lighthearted romance that also shows how their hearts are slowly changing. I know it may seem like the innuendo is thrown out like second nature - which may be their thing - but there were still plenty of playful and heartwarming moments that made their way through. 'Priest was Julien’s line of defense and Robbie was his light and hope.' 🫂 Their heated and tender kisses, their intimate touches, the yearning impulses, it feels so heartfelt - so honest with their emotions and thoughts that I am rooting for them to work out. It's a deep-rooted connection that they all so desperately craved and hoped to make work, despite the imminent baggage he was somehow unknowingly walking into. 😥 It's hard, especially since Priest's world is slowly crumbling around him, but they're doing their best to make Robbie feel as welcome and as safe as possible in their homes and their hearts.

Somewhere in these past few months, I lost my mind over you, Robert Bianchi. It’s only now that my heart’s beginning to catch up.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Robbie and Priest's chemistry, though 🤌🏻🌟👌🏻. The two of them have such an intense way with each other that even when it is just the two of them that I really am eating up! I mean, yes, the French endearments and teases are delicious, and Julien is a beast behind the stove, but it's really these two that stir a fire within me. 🤩 'It was instant, and powerful. And that’s how I knew it was right.' It's how Robbie wants to poke Priest's buttons, and how riling him up, makes their romance sizzle even more. It's that knowing that they can evoke such a palpable and visceral reaction from each other to drive each other crazy that I'm loving. From the shower scene to the two of them seeing Robbie in a suit for the first time - it makes me afraid for Robbie of what they have planned for him next? Or maybe I should be happy for him for what they intend to do with him next? 🤭😏

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ I was a bit confused, though, as to why Robbie felt such a sting of personal betrayal at the end about Priest's family revelation; it felt a bit odd in lieu of his personality and how they are just really getting to know one another, but I'm willing to be remiss, because I do want to see how it will affect Priest's psyche, and how well Robbie will prove to them that he truly is here to stay. It's been a promising and worthwhile first two books in the series; I really hope the next one delivers, as well. 🩷🙏🏻

I kind of, sort of, knew going into Julien that it wouldn’t be a favourite book but as I turned the last page I was left feeling more disappointed than I anticipated. I must say that my feelings towards Julien were indifferent from the previous book and those feelings solidified for me when we were given his backstory.

Oh god. His backstory!!! 😩 I couldn’t even BEGIN to understand, or even care, about his ‘baggage’ as Frank puts it, and I feel horrible for saying that but it felt so lacklustre and over the top drawn out. AND THOSE GOD AWFULLLLLL FLASHBACK SCENES NEARLY MADE ME DNF THIS 😭😭😭😭😭😭. No, I don’t think you understand, I LOVE ROBBIE AND PRIEST, AND JULIEN’S BACKSTORY MADE ME WANT TO DNF IT!!!! 💔💔💔💔💔.

Okay but enough of me hating. Let’s get into the real reason why I can’t rate this lower and the saving grace of this book, Robbie and Priest. 😛💕✨ these two little losers make me curl my toes, my ankles, my knees, folded me in half, melted me off mY BONES.

This was me every time Priest spoke French

🫠🦋✨💕

”Tu as l’air délicieux dans mon peignoir, mon cœur.”

This was me every time Priest called Robbie sweetheart

😃🦋✨💕

“If we’re being honest…” Robbie said, and gnawed on the inside of his cheek.
“Yes?”
“I kind of lost my mind the first time you called me sweetheart in Logan’s office.”

This was me every time Priest and Robbie did the nasty

🫡🦋✨💕

“So long. I’ve wanted you like this for so fucking long.”

“Me too, sweetheart,” Priest said in Robbie’s ear, and then kissed his temple.”

It sucks for me to say that I liked the relationship between two of MM when it’s a MMM relationship. But DONT GET ME WRONG! Priest and Julien’s relationship is rooted in so deep for both men that it’s become an intrinsic part of their being. The trust they have for each other, the little nuances that make us realize how perfect that are to each other, for each other. It was darn cute and I felt like a third wheel. I don’t know how Robbie does it but Robbie is Robbie. He is perfection.

Right when Robbie and Priest’s relationship, the trust they were building for each other, came into fruition, it went

KEERRRR-SPLAT

Right in front of my face at the 96% percent mark. So I’m gagging because Ella does this all the time and those times were warranted but this time? NO! Not even fair at all.

And an extra star for Logan and an extra star for Tate. I’m sad because they weren’t TOGETHER in those scenes but I’m not sweating it because I know I’m going to get my OTP together, hopefully macking on each other, in the next book.

Also, Henri 👀👀 who this man is?

I really loved book 1 a lot more than I anticipated (always wary of m/m/m). Robbie's involvement with Julien and Priest who have been married for quite a few years could have easily gone very wrong. But Ella Frank made the attraction, the need between these three men believable and realistic (and very very hot!)

Book 2 takes a closer look at Julien and his past. We get a lot of relationship development between the three men, and it becomes more and more obvious how well Robbie fits in with the other two. He balances them, gives each other man something the married partner can't. And he adds a lot of light and heart into the mix. Most of all Robbie falls, deeply, for both of them, but where does that put him exactly? He craves for 'more' and as we get a triple POV (loved that!) we know that Julien and Priest feel pretty much the same, but Robbie doesn't know that, and inevitably he feels a bit left behind.

Of course the revelations at the end about Priest don't help to further the situation. It is a teeny cliffhanger, and although I am not a fan of cliffies, this one is relatively harmless, but enough to pique my interest for book 3. (which clearly was the intention to start with)

Ella Frank is doing a marvellous job describing a workable three-way relationship here. I adore the dynamics between the guys which is totally different for each combination of men. Whether this could exist outside fiction I have no idea, but it works beautifully on page. Needless to say that these three are seriously hot and that Ella Frank certainly knows how to write sensual, sizzling sex scene..

One thing left me puzzled - Julien's parents' behaviour. I don't get it. I wanted to see it discussed and resolved. But this time that didn't happen. I know book 3 is 'Priest's story', but I hope we'll get some clarification about their attitude, too.

Can't wait for book 3.

I’m completely fascinated by triad relationships so it is no wonder I jumped at the chance to read and review Ella Frank’s Confession series especially since she is one of my favorite romance writers. The first book in this series let readers get to know Robbie better whom readers knew from the Try series, but in this book readers begin to understand the man behind The Prick moniker, celebrity chef Julien Thornton; his grief, his shame, and his pain. Confessions: Julien furthers the bond between Julien and his husband Joel Priestly and the man they both want in their lives, Robbie Bianchi. This book continues to prove that each of these three men bring something unique to their relationship and together they are better and stronger.

Coming in as a third to a couple who has been together and married several years puts Robbie at a bit of a disadvantage because he doesn’t know Julien and Joel’s backgrounds and baggage, but one thing I appreciate about this triad is their determination to not keep secrets and to be open and honest. With the anniversary of Julien’s sister’s death upon them, Joel warns Robbie things are going to get rough but that it is Julien’s story to tell and asks Robbie to be patient with him as he shares it.

Once again I was struck that despite their very unique personalities, they meld very well together and while Robbie was added into an existing relationship it is clear that he is a vital part of their lives. I felt this throughout this book and the fact that while Robbie knows he is falling hard and fast for these two men, he doesn’t realize that Julien and Joel are falling equally as hard for him. Yes, their sexy times are off the chart hot and there is quite a bit of sex in this book, but in reality it is such a small part of what makes these three work. I love that Joel is the strong one and the voice of authority and reason, that Julien is the sexy one and provides a certain air of culture, and then there is Robbie; he is the sassy one and the one that provides the light and hope. There was quite a bit of darkness in this book and Robbie was kind of the glue that help them together and helped Julien see the bright side of life again. The fact that both Julien and Joel appreciate Robbie’s intuition makes things all the better.

Confessions: Julien is emotional, raw, beautiful, and compelling. As a reader I’m completely spellbound by these three characters, their unique relationship, their devotion to one another; they are a formidable unit who together they will weather whatever life throws at them.

4 stars! This was a great book, but I still felt that Robbie was probably slightly better. We find out more about Julien's side of the story and honestly speaking, it was a little anticlimactic. I was imagining something quite terrible and I felt Julien's guilt was too much. Nevertheless, it was great to see the relationship between the three become stronger and Robbie gaining an understanding of the dynamics in the relationship. The plot was even paced and despite this being Julien's story which we explored through flashbacks, it was great to get the POVs of Priest and Robbie interspersed through-out. The sex scenes were super HOT and so so steamy.

The build-up to Priest's story is tremendous. I'm both excited and nervous to read about his backstory and how he got to where he is. Among the three characters, he's the one that intrigues me the most.
