It’s October, and with Samhain approaching, Ember must enter the Cruharach to face the darkest night of her life. As she gives herself over to the Autumn Stalkers and the Leannan Sidhe, she is plunged deep into the shadows of Annwn to face Cernunnos and the test of the Hallowed Hunt.
Meanwhile, the Wild Hunt is trying to contain collateral damage throughout the city. A Fae hate group is terrorizing Seattle, going after shifters and humans alike. In the middle of investigating the deadly cult, Herne takes on a new case.
A frantic wolf-shifter mother begs them for help. Her three-year old daughter has been kidnapped. With three other young girls already dead at the hands of a serial killer dubbed the Angel of Mercy, Herne and Ember find themselves in a desperate race to find the girl before the Angel of Mercy claims another victim and strikes again.

This is my favorite book in the series so far. Ember is constantly changing and evolving, an intriguing process to watch. The supporting characters continue to grow as well, and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Galenorn has in store for them both separately and together.
Ember is facing quite a few challenges in this book. A new hate group has formed and is killing on a mass scale, theres a kidnapper/murderer called The Angel of Mercy preying on little girls, and its time for Ember to enter the Cruharach. They are racing against time in every way. The Angel of Mercy has kidnapped a fourth girl and they must find her before she ends murdered. Plus, they must find out who is behind the new Fae hate group. Is it an actual group of Fae or are they being set up? In the midst of this Ember is going to be facing some hard choices. Will she become her worst nightmare? Will she even make it through the Cruharach? If she does make it, will she still be her or will she lose herself and become someone new?
This book is fast paced and will keep you on your toes! I love the chemistry between Herne and Ember. they are flat out combustible. Plus, we get see some new drama with the other members of the Wild Hunt. Cant wait for the next book!
This is Book 5; it would be advisable to read the exciting previous four books first to get the background, backstories, and character development. There is a useful 'Cast of Characters' in the back if you forget who’s who but binging the books sequentially is best. An abducted 3-year-old with a heartbroken mother hoping to be reunited and a hate-crime group spreading terror and violence are the challenges the Wild Hunt faces. They are up to the challenge as they follow the clues and catch the abductor. The hate-crime group is more difficult; a supposedly charitable organization uses drugs to warp the minds of volunteers to commit heinous crimes. They must be stopped, hopefully in the next book. Ember goes through the Cruharach and joins her two very diverse natures into one integrated personality. Lots of excitement, action, adventure, and some very intense, romantic moments for Ember and Herne.
Another great book in one of my favorite series. Yasmine Galenorn has mastered the art of implying that there is more and in fact giving you a tidbit of that more...but still saving it for the next book. This is good because I enjoy series with a larger meta plot as well as a smaller story. One of the series strengths is the sizable cast that manages to be compelling and not reliant on shocking revelations to be that way. Galenorn's books are often underrated because they tend to have sexualized women on them, which turns people off because they don't understand that the female characters in her books are empowered by and in control of their own sexuality. More female authors than you can imagine, Galenorn and Jean Johnson especially, get pegged as romance authors and their sci fi and fantasy chops are ignored.
Lots going on throughout this book… much of it centering around Ember’s finally going through the Cruharach, and learning the truth of who and what she is. There are two cases that the Wild Hunt is investigating, only one of which is completely solved. The other is partly solved, and part of an ongoing storyline! This is not a standalone book by any means, it’s building on the four previous books, and continues into the next, so please read in order. That being said, it’s an engaging series, with a fine cast of characters, an excellent supporting cast, and some truly fascinating world building. Nobody is perfect, not even our heroine, but they keep going flaws and all.
This book was absolutely fantastic!! If Ember has enough to worry over with the Angel of Mercy and a new Fae hate group, that her approaching Cruharach would be icing on her very hectic life. With three other daughters found dead and a fourth been taking and the hate group killing and harming shifers and humans alike, will the Wild Hunt be able to stop them, find the girl, and help Ember through her awakening in time. Ms. Galenorn will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to find out more. Great book in my opinion.
With this book Ember and crew run into some bad things. The hate group terrorizing the city is bad enough, but their actions are making others retaliate, not a good thing. The case that the Wild Hunt is working on has missing kids, which seems to make things worse. Then Ember is facing Cruharach, her life will change, making her leery about it. While they all make it through these things, it's tough for them. It will be interesting to see what happens next.
I think this is going to stand the test of time as one of my favourite series. And The Hallowed Hunt is a fantastic, gripping adventure by anybody's standards.
Following Ember, Angel and the Wild Hunt Agency's through their cases and personal lives is wonderful. More please!
I loved this one so much. Wild Hunt is my absolute favorite series by Mrs.Galenorn and each book gets better as we go. I loved the drama and internal turmoil Ember goes through in this installment, as well as the investigative panel lot line. Reminds me of Criminal Minds + fae/shifters/mysterious gods/etc. Highly recommend!
It's time for the final test, all the prep works done & our heroine must endure. In the meantime another case has been dropped on the e team. This one is a little more deadly as it impacts the fates of two races. Our guys have their hands full as they try to deal with the fallout.
The Wild Hunt has quickly become a favorite of mine and The Hallowed Hunt has only left me wanting more! A long standing question was finally answered but the story is just beginning, leaving me eagerly waiting for the next book!
I really like the Wild Hunt series. There are so many parallels to the violence and hatred in today's society. The strength Ember has to face her heritage and history is inspiring. I also like the detail around the different fae races and how Yasmine really brings life to the legends.
I have been waiting for quite some time for this particular journey with Ember. I am elated! Best one yet! She out does herself with every installment of this wild hunt. A million stars!!
Loved this book, it kept me reading. The wild hunt agency has their hands full with a hate group on the loose. Ember has her own personal trials to face. Don’t want to give away anything. Check this series out!
I am enjoying this series of fae, shifters, witches, vampires, etc. The world building is wonderful and I am enjoying the growth of the characters. On to the next book
In the latest installment of the Wild Hunt series, Ember is embarking on a new chapter of her life and the agency is taking on a couple of new cases. I loved how this story moved along and I adore Raven Bonetalker.
I loved seeing Ember, Hearne, and the rest of the gang come through the trials of this book. And the glimpse into Raven's world was great fun too. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book.
This was not an easy read. Child abductions and murder were unexpected in the Wild Hunt's latest case. In the meantime, Fae men are being recruited and brainwashed to create havoc with car crashes and bombings.
There's a lot going on in this book. And some of it may be hard to read for people who trigger from violence against children. I was able to make it through, but almost stopped. The one thing I really liked was how satisfying the ending was.
The Cruharach has arrived! Is Ember ready? Only one way to find out. She’s done the preparation. All while trying to solve several cases at work. One involving the possible end to peace throughout society. The other a missing child that suddenly turns into something more. This book is fantastic! The ending holds one final surprise.
The Hallowed Hunt sucked me in. Between everything that Ember is going through and the cases of missing little girls stacking up Ember, Herne and the gang have to be on their toes. I love this world and the people that has been created. It makes you long for the next in the series.
This is AWESOME!!!! Galenorn's best book yet! I had trouble putting in down and read it in one day! Really drew me in and kept me there. A must read, book and series.
