This remarkable book helps children and adults alike recognize their breath and how to use it to feel happier and healthier. With engaging visuals, this book walks through various and simple exercises to make conscious breathing a reality.
I read this with my kids just a page or two at a time to master each of the skills. It’s been invaluable at bed time and in moments of high stress!
I think that this book definitely is a great start to get kids into meditating/focusing on their breathing as a way to calm down. I enjoyed most of the activities in this book, though there a couple that didn't quite work to me. I think mainly the labyrinth pages, the mazes seemed a little confusing and I couldn't actually figure out how to do those pages. I really liked the square to trace though. This was a good book and it is a book I would be quite likely to reccomend to others.
I think this book was really long for a single sitting. I think it may serve more as a resource to return to when learning different breathing skills instead.
Nonfiction picture book. This book serves as an introduction to mindfulness, of being aware of where you are and what your body is doing. It offers different breathing activities in an interactive format-- tracing shapes on the page, balancing the book, etc. The color scheme is a calming blue, white, and black. This would be a good book to introduce the concept and build a toolkit for children.
