He’s a human in a vampire’s world, but she’s the reason he’s not sleeping at night.

For the first time ever, all three origin novellas in the Elemental Legacy series are available in one volume, along with a bonus novella, The Bronze Blade.

In Shadows and Gold, driving a truck full of rotting vegetables and twenty million in gold across mainland China wasn’t what Ben Vecchio had in mind for summer vacation. If he can keep Tenzin’s treasure safe, the reward will be worth the effort. But when has travel with a five-thousand-year-old wind vampire ever been simple?

In Imitation and Alchemy, all Ben wanted was a quiet summer before his last semester of university. All Tenzin wanted was a cache of priceless medieval coins that had been missing for several hundred years. And some company.

In Omens and Artifacts, Ben needs a job. A legendary job. Finding the lost sword of Brennus the Celt would make his reputation in the vampire world, but it could also draw dangerous attention. The Raven King’s gold isn’t famous for being easy to find. Luckily, Ben has his own legend at his side.

OBSIDIAN’S EDGE is an anthology of previously published novellas in the Elemental Legacy series by Elizabeth Hunter, USA Today Bestselling Author of Midnight Labyrinth, Blood Apprentice, and other works of fiction.

As always , another great read!

I’ve loved this series for a very long time. I picked this one up and now I’ve realized what I needed in my life. Gonna go pick up the next book to keep my rekindled addiction in check. My family is already realizing I’m gonna get lost in my books again.

I love these novellas, and I’m so excited they’re finally all in one convenient collection! If you are a fan of Elizabeth Hunter’s Elemental Legacy series, and you haven’t yet read Ben and Tenzin’s novellas, you definitely don’t want to miss out on these excellent mini adventures!

Shadows & Gold, Imitation & Alchemy, and Omens & Artifacts are all lovely windows into the building of the foundation of Ben and Tenzin’s partnership - and relationship - in the Elemental Legacy novels. There’s also a whole cast of secondary characters I suspect we’ll be seeing again in the later full novels! Find out how Ben and Tenzin made their friends, and enemies, before they ever made it to New York. And who came up with the treasure-hunting idea, anyways?

Plus, there’s lots of quality banter and heist shenanigans - as well some stunningly sweet moments to balance things out.

I will say that these stories lean more towards character backstory and character building than Heavy Plot, but I can promise, if you are a fan of the Elemental series, that you will enjoy them.

I want to give a separate mention for The Bronze Blade, the fourth novella in the collection. Tenzin’s origin story is something I personally love - but it is not a happy story, though she comes out of it fierce and fighting in the end. It’s a powerful story of survival. It was also, for me, a difficult read the first time around; my content warning for readers is that there is both violence and sexual assault.
But, I want to stress that the telling of her story is done well, and is in many ways a story for all the girls who survived. On a lighter note - It also does help provide context for a number of Tenzin’s actions in some of the full novels! So I do fully recommend it - just maybe grab some tissues.

Overall, I am thrilled to have this collection, and definitely recommend it.

Four novellas that precede the fabulous Elemental Legacy series, all rolled into one anthology and bound in this beautiful cover. The stories in this book have previously been published as Shadows and Gold, Imitation and Alchemy, Omens and Artifacts, and The Bronze Blade.
Ben was an orphan on the streets who was adopted and raised by a 500 years old vampire. Tenzin looks (and sometimes acts) like a teenager but is actually 5000 years old (it might be more, she can't remember now) and also a vampire. Despite being surrounded by vampires and living their nocturnal life, Ben is determined to stay human. Tenzin befriended Ben when he was about 16 but now he's the one who looks (and sometimes acts) older.
The first three books tell us about the start of their new venture as business partners, finding and retrieving lost pieces of art and historical artifacts. There is mystery, intrigue, humour and flirtatious moments. The Bronze Blade is very different. This is Tenzin's story of her ancient human life and becoming a vampire. It's an emotional story to read as the hardships mount up, but necessary to understand some of the ways that Tenzin now has about her.
This is an excellent starting point to launch you into the Elemental Legacy series, or a follow-up to Elemental Mysteries and Elemental World.

If you have read all of the novellas for the Ben and Tenzin Elemental Legacy series than this is nothing new, but having all of these stories in one place is! Plus it’s quite a savings! And if you have held off on the Bronze Blade thinking you aren’t sure you want to read it because it’s dark, it’s simply a MUST for those Tenzin fans. No one can ever truly understand Tenzin, but this book is essential in moving forward with this series, as each one of these novellas are, before moving ahead with the full novels in the series. Plus....that COVER! Its gorgeous! And as soon as it’s out in paperback I’ll own that time!

I am not a person that writes reviews because I don't really know how to put my appreciation in words. Me, if I don't enjoy a writer, I won't buy the next book they write. So, me, have all of EH's books!! That should say it all. I just love the twist and turns, intrigues, tension, love, fights, politics - you are a stunning writer and I am really glad I stumbled upon Gio and B story. Because that started it all!!

All the Elemental Legacy novellas in one place. This is the perfect collection of my favourite Elizabeth Hunter novellas. The real start of Benzin. If you haven’t read them yet, you cannot go wrong with adding this to your collection. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Anthology!

Obsidian's Edge, written by Elizabeth Hunter, is An Elemental Legacy Anthology consisting of three separate prequels and Tenzin's origination story. Each of these stories are well written, fast paced, and packed with loads of interesting facts, insights and information on both Ben and Tenzin, and their continually evolving relationship and adventures. I read this before reading any of the series books and am now looking forward to getting started on those. Thank you to Ms. Hunter for always delivering a delightful, action packed read!

Better than the main series

These four novellas were a lot of fun to read, and a little lighter (except for the last one) than the main series itself. That made them more enjoyable, I think. The novels sometimes get a little too angsty and serious.

Rich and riveting

Thoroughly enjoying the series. Following the lives of Tenzin, Benjamin, Beatrice and Giovanni as they carry us back and forth through the passage of time.

Another great read!

This anthology consists of longer stories, more like novellas. Again, telling back stories that fill in so many blanks from previously read tales of these people

my favourite elemental books so far

I’ve loved all the books in this series but these are my favourite with the kooky relationship between Ben and Tenzin.
