The Dashing Duke

Rate this book
On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me... A Dashing Duke.

Waking up with a handsome rogue in your bed is both scandalous and dangerous, but luckily, Lady Ivy Wentworth is an avid reader of novels and knows just how to fix this situation. Despite the simmering chemistry between her and the mysterious man, Ivy is glad they didn't do anything but accidentally fall asleep in the same bed. As long as her secret doesn't get out, she's safe... That is, until she meets the man a few weeks later - not as a rogue, but as the dashing Duke of St. Beau.

A TALE OF TRUE LOVE, CHRISTMAS, AND OF COURSE... A HANDSOME DUKE.

The Twelve Dukes of Christmas is a countdown to Christmas novella series featuring a stand alone romance, perfect for the holidays. Books can be read out of order, but are best enjoyed when read together.

1 really can't say what it's about star!

When I read the snippet, I expected some lighthearted, historical (era-appropriate), witty romance!

Just to say... didn't get my wish. And the problem was.. I discovered that on the first page!

AWKWARD, MYSCHIEF, LOVE , HAPPY

5 STARS for the 1st Novella of the 12 Duke's of Christmas! They had a great 1st Novella to start the Series, it's full of happiness and knowing that she can't marry because she doesn't love the Baron. So, Ivy is a reader of romance & action books; also wanting that same romance & love in her own life. A bundle of love!

Needed an editor. For one thing, the heroine thinks that her maid does “good updos”. Pretty sure women didn’t call hairstyles updos in the time period this book is set in. (I googled and according to merriam webster the first mention of the term was 1938, so yeah).

Heroine also muses that a guy didn’t treat her like a “meer” woman, instead of a “mere” woman.

Loved this one a lot, and I think it would have made a really good novel too.
