Everything changed the night my boyfriend died.
What should've been the most special moment of my life turned into a nightmare. Because of Hunter Chargill, I lost the love of my life. I'll never forgive him.
Hunter used to be one of my best friends, but it turns out he's nothing more than an arrogant a-hole determined to make my life a living hell with his lies.
But he should've known you can't break something that's already broken.
I manage to avoid him until my freshman year at Trinity Academy. Our cruel words and intimidating touches quickly spark a flame, and instead of us going down in a blaze of hatred, desire sizzles to life.
I know I'm in trouble when I start enjoying our fights. Instead of wanting to punch him, I find myself wondering what his lips would feel like on mine.
A stupid game.
One kiss.

And my perfectly constructed walls come crashing down around me.
I should feel guilty and make Hunter pay for what he's done.
But sometimes a tormentor turns out to be a protector.

Jade Daniels fell in love Jade Daniels lost it all

➽ KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

COLDHEARTED HEIR is the first full length enemies to romance book in Michelle Heard's 'The Heirs' series. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'.

These two literally broke my heart, their hurtful words were like barbed wire ripping my skin to shreds, their song choices they used to convey what they couldn't put into words themselves gutted me, god my heart couldn't bear what this author put me through, and it made it doubly hard knowing that she'd be smiling evilly on the other side of the world counting my tears!!

In the past I was more into this authors slightly darker books but I can honestly say that she's surprised me with how versatile she is, she blows me away book by book, and like her previous series this one is also going to be a huge hit.

The 'Prologue' pulled me in like no other, and from then onwards I was hooked. When Jade's boyfriend Brady of a year dies unexpectedly her world comes tumbling down around her ears, she's beyond broken and inconsolable even though she didn't fully know what happened that night in question she knows her best friend Hunter Chargill had something to do with it because he was the last person to see him alive.

To process her grieving she takes off to her Grandfather's ranch, turning her back on the world.

Hunter flat out denies that he had anything to do with what occurred that night, but she refuses to listen to him and vows to make him pay one way or another.

❝ I hate him with an intensity of a thousand burning suns. ❞

Even though they run in the same crowd she manages to avoid him like the plague. That was two years ago, but things have changed because there's no avoiding each other now that they are sharing a suite along with their life long friends at Trinity Academy.

azxx

jade put Hunter through hell, god my heart literally broke in half, a lesser man would have wiped his hands and walked away never to look back, but not this guy and that's what made me wholeheartedly love his character. Jade slightly grated on me, so quick to point the blame without having all the facts, I put down my device only to pick it up straight away because the angst was just fuelling my desire to see how the author was going to wrap it all up.

COLDHEARTED HEIR is more then a fiction story, the emotions that Michelle put me through with book is just everything...she had me crying ugly snot tears and then laughing the same time. This book will stay with me for along time to come. This is by far one on my top favourite reads of 2020!!!!

The bromance between Jase and Hunter was just everything l, everyone needs a friend like Jase. The close connection between all these friends is amazing.

Miss Sebastian just adds that little extra something to this story, the message she's able to bring through her bedazzled way is amazing.

Daddy Rhett is just amazing and the way he's with Jade...love.

Kingsley is just amazing with Hunter, now we know where he gets his compassion from.

I can't wait for Jase's book, I'm claiming him now!!!!

I lie awake as the girls drift off to sleep. Having them with me always helps. Ever since we were little, we used to sleep in the same bed whenever our families got together for a visit or going away on vacations. They’re more than sisters to me. Our families share a bond that most blood-related relatives don’t even have – loyalty, undying love, and a fierce protectiveness toward each other.

Well hunny, you called Jade your sister too.... So ..... Like do you fall in love with all of your sisters or she was just like a sister and the other girls were more than sisters that made things okay for you?

Staring down at Jade, I take in her features. How’s it possible she’s changed so much? There’s no sign of the sixteen-year-old who used to be like a sister to me. In front of me stands a woman, devastatingly beautiful. She’s become coldhearted and vicious.

I was really anxious about this new series.
It's always a challenge to write and to read a spin of, with the next generation of such beloved characters, and I think that this one had a good start.

Coldhearted Heir is the first book in "The Heir" series and it's a next generation crossover between "Trinity Academy" and "Enemies to Lovers" kids.

Honestly I didn't read any book in the Enemies to Lovers series, so I got a little lost with all that people. I did read and loved Trinity Academy, but it's a loooot of people to catch up at the beginning.
If I'm not wrong, there's sixteen new faces between the kids, and all of them will couple up along The Heir series.

This first book is about Hunter Chargill and Jade Daniels, they start their story as friends (the whole group of 16 kids are best friends and really close).
After the suicide of Jade's teenager boyfriend, she starts to hate and blame Hunter, since they left a party together.
They spent two years avoiding each other, but when she starts at Trinity Academy, things got messy and they have to face their past.

I liked their story and how things evolve between them. Jade was really young before and I think that she's still young and immature now, but they start to have feelings for each other anyway.
Hunter is ready to solve everything, and he really tried, but when he gives up, Jade is the one to try to reach him back, without success. It's a bit of cat and mouse for a little to long, but after all, it's a slow burn romance, and when they're finally on the same page, it's amazing.

There's a lot of group scenes, to show their dynamics and their connections, and I really enjoyed these scenes.
Their friendship is so special and I'm dying to see the others finding their happy ending.

As I said before, I got a little lost with so many side characters, and so many people showing up, so I'll probably read The enemies to lovers series, in order to be up to date for the next books.

I apologize for the vent ahead...

I don't even know where to begin. Ms. Heard is a first-time author for me. I went into Coldhearted Heir with so much excitement and anticipation, just to be majorly let down. I mean did you read that synopsis?! Add the fact that I am a bully trope junkie and I thought I had a match made in heaven.

Wrong. Oh so very wrong. I am in the minority here, and I'm fine with that. I'm pretty sure my ARC must have been completely different from what everyone else was reading. I want that book. I want the five star read people are gushing about. Not the one that left me wanting to bang my head against a damn wall. Not the one that left me discontent. Maybe it was just me, but these are the issues I had.

First, I was really hoping for something angsty and intense but to me it felt surface level at best. I wanted to see more depth and character development. I wanted to feel for them and side with them. But it did not feel fully executed to me. Part of that is the characters were one dimensional.

Second, our leading man, Hunter. He tried his damnedest to be a bad ass bully, but that lasted for all of a minute. He's supposed to be the head of his tribe. A rich boy who owned it all. A guy out for revenge for being wronged by the one girl he loved. He talked such a big game I expected him to come out swinging. I expected to feel a rush of excitement. Hello, bully trope junkie! Bring on the dickhead! Sadly, that too fell flat. Bless his heart, he tried. Boy did he try. He just couldn't pull off the tough guy routine. I think Hunter was just too much of a nice guy with an underlying heart of gold and in another book, we'd have had beautiful book babies.

Third, our leading lady, Jade. Either the chick is the shy innocent virgin or the chick who kicks everyone's ass and wants revenge. You can't have it both ways. Due to this, I found it hard to reconcile the two sides of this character's personality. Not to mention, Jade's inability to communicate drove me NUTS! It was annoying that the girl who couldn't be bothered to communicate for two long years was all of a sudden (once she found out the truth) all about communicating and a quick fix.

Fourth, this may be more of a personal thing, but I couldn't not mention it since it really irked the shit out of me. Jade is 19 years old, living in the 21st century, forever around her gang of friends, which includes guys, yet has no idea that guys can get hard from a girl sitting on their lap, wiggling around. No clue. I had to stop and read that passage a few times. Now mind you, she wasn't a sheltered child. And when she calls her godmother to ask her why a guy gets hard, she can't say the word cock. Now she can use other swear words, she just can't say cock. So instead this 19 year old, modernized woman refers to the male genitalia as a ding dong. A couple of times, at that. I may or may not have been having an eye roll worthy moment during these scenes.

Last but certainly not least, I seriously couldn't tell which one was supposed to be the antagonist in this story. Hunter or Jade. Who was going to be extract their revenge better and make the other one cry? The answer to that is—neither. Another area the execution failed. The angst and build up would start and I would get all antsy thinking here we go; the good stuff is coming and then it was like the air was let out of my balloon and I quickly crashed to the ground. Not cool!

Anyway, I know everyone reads a book differently so I won't say avoid and don't read. I'll wish you luck and hope you have a better time at it than me.

Jade Daniels fell in love
Jade Daniels lost it all
All the king's horses, and all the king's men
couldn't put Jade back together again.

This was my first book by Michelle Heard and I freakin' loved it!!!
Jade and Hunter (especially him!!!) had stolen my heart and i can not wait for more of this group, even though all these characters and names were frustrating as hell, until i can finally keep up with them...
But aside of that, this story touched me since the moment that I've read the blurb.
I was instantly hooked and I've read the book in one breath, even though i was much pressured from other things irrelevant.

"My heart chose you long before my head knew it."

This book started with a bang...
Jade's boyfriend committed a suicide out of the blue and she was devastated!!!
And into this state of mind, she accussed one of her closest friends that he had something to do with that, since he was the last one to see him that night...

"My sensitive, beautiful boyfriend left without warning, without a word... and he took my whole heart with him."

Two years forward, Jade and Hunter's relationship is still hanging on a thread and not of lacking of Hunter's trying...
Jade is still sad and devastated... And she still believes that Hunter is guilty...
Even though they are running in the same circle, they are doing their best to avoid each other in every occassion...
Unfortunately, now is the time to see each other all the time...
As much as they will try to stay away from each other, it is almost impossible since they are living under the same room...

"Because of Hunter, I lost the love of my life. I'll never forgive him."

To say that it wasn't devastating this strange relationship between these two, i will blatantly lie to you... Jade was angry and bitter toward Hunter and she didn't stop showing it to him in every chance she got!!!
Hunter was clearly a saint and he had so much patience toward her... He tried many times to tell her his own truths, but she was so stubborn and she wasn't stop provoking him...
But all this frustrated madness between them, can it turn out into something more???

"This is why our fire never burned out but instead kept growing out of control. It was bound to destroy us or fuse us together."

I liked Jade, but I wanted to slap her in several occassions... I hated the way she was treating Hunter. He didn't deserve this kind of behavior... But i can understand the pain of her loss, even though she was very young at that point...
Hunter became my favorite. He was so caring and thoughtful, even though Jade didn't stop hurting him all the time. He was anything but coldhearted. But patience has also its limits and Jade had cross a line...

"God knows I've tried, but no more. We're done."

Well, a stupid game and a kiss, changed everything for these two...
They were two people who were hurting because of the other and they were walking into a thin thread between love and hate...
The way that they were expressing their feelings through songs, it was sooo beautiful in a sad way...
Honestly, this story got into me and i can not wait for the next one!!!
Michelle Heard had climbed the stairs of my heart and now, i'm craving more of her words.

"I've fought so hard for you. No one will ever fight for you the way I will."

Coldhearted Heir is the story of Hunter Chargill and Jade Daniels, who find love after overcoming all the angst and misunderstandings in their past.

Synopsis:
Two years ago, Jade Daniels lost her childhood friend and the love of her life – Brady Lawson. He may have killed himself, but Hunter was the reason. Now, when Hunter is twenty-two and Jade eighteen; they both are in Trinity Academy.

Hunter Chargill hasn’t done anything wrong but he can’t make Jade understand that. Her hatred for him seems to run deep. With a whole year to be spending in each other’s company, will they make it without tearing each other apart?

Review:
Narrated in the first person from dual perspectives, half of this story is full of angst and misunderstandings. There are sixteen kids who grew up together. In a close-knit business community, parents of whom are practically the royalty. They own the Trinity Academy, the how of which I came to know about only after finishing the book. It all started with the Trinity Academy and the Enemies to Lovers series of books by Michelle Heard.

This is the first book I’m reading by the author. I want to read all the seven books that will follow this one in The Heirs series. Yes, they’re that compelling. But, there is something that seems missing, or maybe it’s me who wanted more conflict. In that way, it is good as a relaxing read.

The best thing about the stories was the representation. That it’s okay for men to cry and that girls and boys can be close friends. There’s a family tree provided right at the very beginning but it still gets confusing at times.

It mentioned Smallville and I couldn’t have been happier! But yeah…it’s not the book, it’s me. I still expected more conflict. If you want a really lighthearted read, then this is it. There’s a sweet epilogue as well at the end.

But is the heir really coldhearted?
I would say not, only for a brief period of time maybe.

P.S. My reviews of the books in the series is as follows:
Coldhearted Heir | Arrogant Heir | Defiant Heir

Thank you to Candi Kane PR for an e-ARC of the book.

Friends became enemies because of a tragedy. Once the truth is revealed, the line between love and hate has blurred. Jade will be forced to face the cruelty she inflicted out of grief. She'll have to earn Hunter's forgiveness and hope that the friendship and love they once shared is not lost forever.

Jade lost someone close to her and she blamed Hunter. For two years, he has been the focus for her anger. She cut him down every chance she got. She never held back with her hatred and scathing remarks. However, their lives were intertwined, so there was no avoiding one another. They shared a mutual friend group and their families were close friends. She needed to move on from her loss and find her peace.

Hunter has been trying to work things out with Jade for years. He misses their friendship, but he is at the end of his rope with her. His patience is exhausted. His sympathy has run it's course, now he's just angry. She's finally ready to work things out once she has learned the truth, but Hunter wants no part of it. He is done.

Jade is in for an uphill climb to redemption, but she's not giving up on him. However, now she wants more than just friendship.

This is an emotional story of loss and grief. Jade had a hard time dealing with her hurt and she lashed out at the wrong person. Her pain clouded her judgment and she lost a friend because of it. She's not a bad person, she's just angry and channeling her feelings in the wrong direction. Hunter was truly a great guy. The protector of his friend group, he looked out for all of them. He has always cared about Jade, but she cut him deep. They'll need to work through their mutual pain to move forward.

This was the beginning of a new series of friends who are all legacies to their family's power and wealth. Their friendships are strong, but now they are all grown up. The attractions are real. What was once friendship is becoming more. The story will deliver sexual tension and sparks that come with a new found attraction. Jade and Hunter definitely had some fireworks. Enjoy the start of this series that takes place in a college setting among the ultra wealthy. Things are getting hot!

3 Stars!

I love how the story begins. The emotions involved felt real. Her pain over her loss and anguish, but it was only for a moment.

I was hoping for more angst between Hunter and Jade. Sadly, there's little to none because our hero is nothing but a saint. I just love how he was able to tolerate the heroine.

After everything was cleared and settled.  I'm a bit disappointed that it ventured towards being cheesy with a large dose of being horny... at least for me.  And the heroine's acting naive and innocent irks me. Because come on, she owns "Bob!! " so.. duh?!

However, I must praise the dynamics of their group's friendship. It is something you would want to be a part of.  Everyone just seems to care for one another.  I love how they were supportive and protective towards each other.

This book involves the children of the author's previous series, and since I haven't read it yet,  I  was having difficulty trying to understand Uncle who's relationship with another Uncle who. To be honest,  it really wasn't necessary.  Instead,  I hope the story  add more bits into how they were before the tragedy happens and how she came to  fall for him and vice versa. Somehow,  I felt it lacks on their love development.

Just a middle of the road read for me -- it's one of those "if you've read one, you've read them all" mixes. The college set and their dramas seem to all circle around the same ole/same ole scenarios. Can't say it was bad, it just wasn't anything new or challenging. And maybe I'm just too old to care any longer.

Firstly i'd like to thank Michelle for giving me the honor of reading an ARC of start of what i know is going to be another must read series.

When tragedy strikes Jade blames one person and one person only Hunter, even though she doesnt actually know what happened. You really can't help but fall in love with Hunter and you really do feel for him Jade blames him for the past heartache and no matter what he says she wont listen. It did get to a point where i was actually pissed off at her as she just assumed straight away she never really found out she just blamed him not knowing anything at all. No matter how much he tries to smooth things over Jade just cant get passed it. But what happens when she slowly starts to feel something other than hate? what happens when she finally learns the truth of what happened that night? Has she hurt Hunter too much for him to forgive her? Has Hunter given up or had enough and given up on jade all together? well i suggest you read it to find out. I cannot wait for the rest of the Heirs stories.

This book had me in tears, angry frustrated laughing it had me feeling it all it was one hell of an amazing ride. I loved seeing Miss Sebastian (mumma G) again she had me in tears with laughter always giving advice with no filter lol. I cannot wait for Jase's story i fell in love with him in this book everyone should be so lucky to have a Jase in their lives. I read this in one sitting couldn't put it down till the last page.

I love this authors books and the parents of this generation was freaking amazing, so I have very high expectations. And it definitely was met, lol
The only issue I had in this story was Jade... I'm sorry, nothing she did in this story could justify her anger and hatred towards Hunter. I didn't understand her reasoning.
If you read the Trinity Academy/Screw Crew series series then you know that Jade is the daughter of Rhett and Evie, and Hunter's parents are Mason and Kingsley, and we all know the volatile relationship Mason and Kingsley had, lol. In some parts Hunter definitely channeled his dad.

Jade's boyfriend Brady killed himself when they were younger, and Hunter was the last person to see him before this happened. And Jade 'assumed' that Hunter had something to do with his death.
For 2years she has avoided him, and blamed him for what happened.
Now that they are back at school, its kind of hard to avoid him, as they all live together and with the closeness of their families its kind of not possible. So she swears to him to make him pay for what happened. Until she finally finds out what happened the night Brady died and realizes that all of her blame and hatred was for nothing.

Hunter doesn't know why Jade hates him so much. And he just took the brunt of her hatred. But he is done, he has had enough of all of her hatred and anger. Now he just tolerates her. Well until she finally finds out the truth, now she will feel how he felt after she blamed him.

Like I said I loved Hunter (because I loved his dad😊 ) and I loved that even though he knew the truth and knew he didn't do anything to Brady he just let her use him for her anger. But like all things you can only take so much and then its enough. I loved the way they played different songs to communicate their feelings. But you just knew there was so much deeper feelings going on between them. I am so excited to read the next story in this series. The side characters, I loved Jace, he was the funny one of the group and you just know his story is going to be awesome... Looking forward the to he next book❤ 😊

ALL MY REVIEWS CAN BE FOUND ON MY BLOG: ABSTRACT BOOKS

'Cold Hearted Heir' is the first book of 'The Heirs' series by Michelle Heard. Told in dua perspectives, get ready to meet Hunter and Jade !!

From the moment I read the blurb of this book and then those hot teasers, let us just say that my anticipation for this book had sky rocketed! And the author sure did not disappoint me! The chemistry both Hunter and Jade had was off the charts hot!

To say Hunter and Jade had a rough start would be an understatement. They used to be best friends , that is until jade's boyfriend commited suicide. And due to a misunderstanding she placed all the blame on Hunter . Hunter didn't know what he did , but he saw Jade so broken and miserable so he took all the hate she dished out at him. They spent two years hating and tormenting each other. Well mostly Jade did the tormenting and Hunter endured.

Until one day the truth came out. The real reason why Jade's boyfriend commited suicide , just shocked jade so much! She was disgusted with herself for treating Hunter so Rudely. Whereas Hunter on the other side had reached his limit . Now it was Jade's turn to endure His hate.

This book had all the feels for me and I am a sucker for books with angst and heartbreak! This book slid right into that category. A definite recommendation to all the contemporary romance lovers with themes like enemies to lovers and second chance Romance!

I feel as if I will give to much away if I do my typical lengthy review so this is going to be extremely short. I am thrilled with the start of this new series, I have been looking forward to it since the ending of the TRINITY ACADEMY SERIES where I met some of the parent of the kids that will now each be finding their own HEA's. If you have read Michelle Heard's ENEMIES TO LOVERS SERIES you have met some of the other parents as well. This is Jade (Rhett and Evie's daughter) and Hunter's (Mason and Kingsley's son) story.

This is a story of heartache, misunderstanding, growth, and acceptance. My heart broke for Jade but I think more so for Hunter.

Friends to enemies, to lovers, college romance. We’re back at Trinity Academy, this time with all the heirs of our favourite characters from Michelle Heard’s Trinity Academy and Enemies to Lovers series. Book 1 sees Hunter Chargrill (22 year old son to Mason and Kingsley) and Jade Daniels (18 year old daughter to Rhett and Evie), get their story. A little angst as Hunter and Jade fight out their anger and frustration following a 2 year feud. When they’re forced to spend a year together in close proximity, you know it’s going to either make them or break them, and they don’t always handle everything in the best possible way. Stubborn and annoying to a fault, I knew they’d be combustible once they actually got their heads screwed on straight. A light, easy read with a little angst, and a lot of pent up frustration between the two main characters. Thank you to the author for an advanced copy of this book.

Slow burn romance novels are in a league of their own, and Michelle has written an exceptional one at that.
Hunter & Jade were best friends until tragedy hit Jade making her lash out and place all the blame on Hunter.
From best friends to enemies then back to friends with the hint of something more - this book ended up being an absolute page turner.
I couldn’t wait for these two to get together and when they finally fid it was just beautiful to read.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐃𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐇𝐈𝐑 is the first book in 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙃𝙚𝙞𝙧𝙨 series by author 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐝.

Friends to Enemies to Lovers the book is written in dual POV and tells the story of Hunter and Jade.

This book is a new series with the next generation of the characters from the series Trinity Academy and Enemies to Lovers series. I only have read the Trinity Academy series, and I LOVED IT so so Much. The series has a special place in my heart.
The kids of the characters featured in Trinity Academy have all grown up together, and they have special bonds and connections.

Jade and Hunter were always close and best friends. I like to think that Hunter loved Jade sinse they were kids.
One night, when Jade was 16, she went to a party with her boyfriend. They loved each other so much, so Jade considers that is time to took their relationship to the next level. Obviously this doesn't work out, because Hunter saves her "cherry".
Hunter being 18, and considering himself responsible for the girls, especially Jade, takes Jade's boyfriend, Brady home. But after Hunter took Brady home, Brady comited suicide.

Jade is convinced that Hunter fought with Brady, and considers Hunter guilty for Bradys actions, for losing the love of her life.
She doesn't speak with Hunter for 2 years.
Now she starts as freshman at Trinity Academy, and Hunter is a senior. They have to leave togheter for 1 year.
So imagine how things go between the cat and the dog!

I loved Hunter with all my heart, and my heart broked for him every time Jade accused him. He was sweet, loving caring. Perfect.

I loved the book so much. I was very happy that I got to see some glimpse of their parents, especially Falcon, Mason and Lake antiques. And the part with Ma a G and the Trojan condoms was INSANE.

I can't wait to read more about them, and see how the rest of the kids fell in love with each other's.

I Highly Recommend this book

I LOVED the Trinity Academy series and was pretty excited/nervous to read the next gen's books.

Coldhearted Heir sounded pretty badass from the blurb & book cover but tbh I'm a little underwhelmed. Did I read a YA book? They're in college so I don't think it's that...but it was so low steam and cheesy towards the end that it gave me YA vibes. Hell, we got one sex scene and it was at 90% and it wasn't even all that. There also wasn't a proper climax to the book.

Basically half the book is them hating each others guts and fighting and other half is cheesy YA with h blushing over saying the word cock, lol.

I'll still check back to see future books but note to self: might want to skip Jace & Mila's book. There's nothing I hate more than a manwhore hero who flaunts other girls around while supposedly being in love with the heroine. Hoping things turn out differently though.

I did love their friend group though!

Safety:

- This was safe for me, but for others it might be safe with exception. h was a virgin (only 18 yrs old so it was believable) H was not a manwhore and had only been with 2 other girls. We don't have to hear any details about that or even see/know who they were. He doesn't show any interest in any other girl in the book. Safe with exception for some since this series is about a big friend group so they did know each other since they were young so obviously he had sex while knowing her. BUT there were no romantic feelings on either side, just friendly love.

- h is heartbroken over dead-ex and blames the H for his death and half the book is her pushing H away and hating his guts. I'm glad when things turned around H made her suffer a bit as well for putting him through 2 years of hell.

Overall, definitely held my interest but it didn't go the way I was expecting it to. I was hoping for more Trinity Academy type of vibes.

This is Book #1 in The Heirs Series. It is a spin-off of the Trinity Academy Series. These two worlds have combined to make this a very interesting story with some amazing characters. In this book, we are introduced to the heirs to the Trinity Academy. I loved seeing the characters from the Trinity Academy Series! There is a character map, in the beginning, to help with who is who. It was interesting to see how their kids turned out. This is a standalone. You do not have to read the other books in order to understand what is going on in this one but it does enrich the story to have the backstories of the parents. This is Hunter and Jade's story.

The action starts out from the beginning where Jade experiences a sudden and devastating loss. She blames Hunter, a once very close friend, for what happened. Two years later, and she still hates Hunter and there is nothing he can do to convince her of his innocence, no matter how hard he tries. And he tries very hard. This causes issues amongst their close-knit group of friends. The divide between Hunter and Jade is wearing on everyone, including Hunter and Jade. This forces Hunter and Jade to confront and deal with their issues. The tragedy, angst, and drama are heartbreaking. The hate, the push and pull added to the angst and excitement in the story. Hunter is hands-down my favorite. He has the patience of a saint and his devotion to his friends is unparalleled. He is funny, has a smart mouth, and he's a dirty talker. Jade was a mixed bag for me. I found her immature for her age and had a hard time connecting to her. She was all over the map emotionally and over-the-top with the hate, and then she begs for forgiveness. She does love her friends though and she is very loyal to them.

Overall, this was a good read. There were misunderstandings, funny moments, especially with the parents and Miss Sebastian, and some sexy times. There were things I liked, some that I didn't, and it felt slightly rushed in the end. I don't feel that we got to see enough of the progression of Hunter and Jade's relationship even though we know they get their HEA. I love that the characters all grew up together. It gives it the family feel. We get teases of the potential relationships amongst the friends and I can't wait to see who is next.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and is the first in the new series The Heirs #1. This book is a stand alone college romance and is a real enemies to lovers, slow burn romance book that will have you gripped.

Hunter has also been having a battle himself and he has felt every single word that she has thrown at him. But he can only take so much and it has been a long time. He has tried every thing in his power and has had the patience of a saint. But because they share the same social circle its so hard to distance themselves and every chance she got her words have stung deep.
Hunter and Jade used to be totally best friends that is until one day when tragedy strikes everything changes completely. Going from best friends then to enemies is so hard for them both but she cant seem to see the wood from the trees. Jade has been through so much and so have the people around her. She has directed her grief at the wrong people and she blames Hunter for it all. She wont hear anything and at this moment in time she is blind to any kind of reason.

The prologue grips you from the beginning and I cant believe that this is the first book that I have read by this author. Its a great read and I couldn't put it down. This book will defiantly have your emotions all up and down throughout and my heart was aching in moments for these two. I really felt for them both individually as sometimes I wanted to hug them and at other times I wanted to throw my kindle but I did love that Hunter was trying to protect but she was in so much pain my heart ached. The way that she has written these two characters you could feel it all. This book has it all the pain, the hurt, the angst, the love, the forgiveness and the tension. I felt this story did flow well and I look forward to reading more of this series I'm the future.
This author has written this book so deep and on another level and I cant believe that this is my first book of hers.

𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆: 𝟑.𝟓 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐒

A brand new series from Michelle Heard and it’s jam packed with angst, hatred and a whole lot of sexual chemistry. If you’ve read Michelle before than you’ll know this is the next generation from her previous books.

We see a friendship group being torn in two when two of their friends have drawn their lines for battle and it doesn’t look like anyone was coming out of it unharmed. But I loved the groups loyalty. I LOVED the banter (there’s a lot) and it just made me excited for the next books in this series. I gotta tell you though, keeping up with all the different names, potential pairings and whose child is who, whose friend was who, was confusing and exhausting to keep up with at best. I was lost, A LOT! But aside from all the side characters, if you focus on who this story was about, it’s actually pretty good!

Jade and Hunter’s relationship was so damn dysfunctional and semi-toxic but at the same time innocent and intense. It’s a weird situation that I couldn’t let go of. I wanted to know more, despite it being like watching a car crash right in front of you.

I had a problem with Jade as a character. She let her childish temper, logic and heart get the best of her. And despite her going through a pretty bad time, I didn’t agree with what she did. Hunter, however, bless his cold heart. How he managed to deal and withstand Jade’s hatred while simultaneously hating her and loving her at the same time, I’ll never understand. I didn’t agree with some of the things these characters did but I did agree that they made a good pair. Once they put their differences aside, it was like it was always meant to be and that’s what I love about this story. How easy it was for them to be together after going through such a hard time before that.

Overall, it’s a pretty good story! I finished it in one sitting. It’s an angsty, new adult, enemies to lovers romance and the Heirs are here to make their impression.

Coming very soon!

„Coldhearted Heir” is a first enemies to lovers romance in written by Michelle Heard 'The Heirs' series. This is also the first book about new generation of „Trinity Academy”.

When Jade's boyfriend Brady died unexpectedly her world crushed down. She was in so much pain and the person she blamed was Hunter Chargill. Both of them were friends in theirs good time, but everything changed with Brady's suicide. Hunter made a lot of trials to has Jade back, but she wants know him, talk to him or do something else with him.
Two years later everything changed again, because Jade met the truth about Brady.
And she knew that her mistake will need a lot of time to be forgive.
Maybe a whole life.
But she was ready to wait for forgivness.

This book is a perfect friendship – hate – love book!
I was IN this story from the first pages and now, when I am writing this opinion I still thinking that „Coldhearted Heir” is better than a whole „Trinity Academy” series!
Why?
Because of heroes!
Both of them – Jade and Hunter are more adult than they parents were in theirs past.
Of couse Jade's behavior was a little stupid, because she didn't want to listen Hunter and the truth.
And when she did it... ech... you will see this by yourself.

Jade put Hunter through hell and I think that she is one of THESE heroines. She is strong and brave and she is totally cruel, when somebody done something bad to her or her family, friends.
And I love it!
I really need that kind of heroine in books!
Michelle thank You for this!

In the end we can meet here our old friends! Julian, Mason, Lake and the girls are here too, and they have a really hard job – they are parents! Mason as father made me laugh so much! Yes, I still love this guy!

„Coldhearted Heir” is first book of new generation of Trinity Academy. It is also a great story about love, friendship and hate. I am really happy that Michelle Heard decided to write that series and I can't wait for more!

So good! So, so, so good!!!!! 20 stars!!!! Amazing!

First off the male heirs are such an amazing mix of their parents. They can turn cold in a heart beat when pissed or defending those they care about but they have the gentleness and kindness of their mothers. Miss Sebastian probably had a hand in that as well. The moment when Hunter is so beaten down and it’s not the girls coming to comfort him but Jase that just made my heart burst! They don’t care to hug it out or say I love you. They are confident enough in themselves to express their emotions. Well...to an extent. *wink wink*

The first few pages of the book had my heart ripped out and I found myself crying. I was just gutted. I guess that is only right when we are talking about Jade’s story considering who her grandfather is and how his story started. Beyond gut wrenching. I’m still a little traumatized from that if you can’t tell.

The pain Jade experienced is so hard to read. Anytime you lose someone the way she did there is no closer. No answers because that person is no longer around to answer them. Everyone stood by patiently and waited for Jade to come back and come back she did.

This book started out with a bang and tears and ended with smiles and love. Beyond perfection.

Hunter and Jade have always been friends. Something tragic happens which makes Jade mad at Hunter. When the truth comes out of what really happens can their connection be repaired? The chemistry between Jade and Hunter is so electric. You route for the two of them through out the entire book. I can not wait for Jases book.

I can't say that I loved it, unfortunately. I read a lot of new adult romance, and it always goes one of two ways: it's either great, or the characters come across as so childish that I just can't handle it. This is the second one. Our heroine spends two years blaming a former friend for her boyfriend's death - without even having a single conversation with him. When a conflict can be cleared up in five minutes, it becomes frustrating to the point of no return. This one is all about the tension, the "hate," and the romance itself feels very rushed because of it. So while I think the author is talented and there were moments that were filled with potential... this really just didn't work for me.

The story follows Jade, a college freshman just starting school at the same place as her nemesis. Jade and Hunter were close friends until Hunter stopped Jade from giving her v-card to her high school boyfriend... who took his own life later that night. Grief-stricken, Jade blames Hunter for the loss of her boyfriend, so she's set out to make him feel the same pain as her. As the two speak to each other for the first time in two years, they have to finally come to terms with what happened... as well as the deeper feelings between them.

I was looking forward to this one, and unfortunately it just didn't live up to my expectations. While I liked Hunter, Jade acts like a child from start to finish. First with her misplaced anger, then with her naivety. I got whiplash from her mood swings, and never felt the connection. This needed to chill on the angst for a minute and show me a reason why these two SHOULD be together. It's all push/pull and bickering, with a few forced kisses thrown in. And, yeah, those were incredibly problematic for me too. It's insta-hate to insta-love, with not much in between. If you're in it for the academy series, this does set it up nicely - complete with a huge cast of characters who felt a little too close for comfort - but it wasn't the story I was looking for.
